1Molecular dynamics simulation of mechanical properties of TATB/fluorine-polymer PBXs along different surfaces显示文摘The mechanical properties of PBXs composed of the well-known insensitive explo-sive TATB (1,3,5-Triamino-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene) crystal and four kinds of typical fluo-rine-polymers, i.e. poly (vinylidene difluoride) (PVDF), polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), fluo-rine rubber (F2311) and fluorine resin (F2314) individually, have been simulated by molecular dy-namics (MD) method. The results show that the mechanical properties of TATB can be effectively improved by blending with a small amount of fluorine-polymers. Different mechanical properties of PBXs are obtained by putting fluorine-polymer binders parallel to different crystalline surfaces. 2Speech endpoint detection in low-SNRs environment based on perception spectrogram structure boundary parameter显示文摘The Perception Spectrogram Structure Boundary(PSSB)parameter is proposed for speech endpoint detection as a preprocess of speech or speaker recognition.At first a hearing perception speech enhancement is carried out.Then the two-dimensional enhancement is performed upon the sound spectrogram according to the difference between the determinacy distribution characteristic of speech and the random distribution characteristic of noise.Finally a decision for endpoint was made by the PSSB parameter.Experimental results show that,in a low SNR environment from-10 dB to 10 dB,the algorithm proposed in this paper may achieve higher accuracy than the extant endpoint detection algorithms.The detection accuracy of 75.2%can be reached even in the extremely low SNR at-10 dB.Therefore it is suitable for speech endpoint detection in low-SNRs environment.WU Di ZHAO Heming HUANG Chengwei XIAO Zhongzhe ZHANG Xiaojun XU Yishen TAO Zhi 2014Chinese Journal of Acoustics2014,33,4:8
3A New Species of the Genus Protobothrops(Squamata:Viperidae:Crotalinae) from the Dabie Mountains,Anhui,China显示文摘During a biological survey in July 2011, a pit viper was collected from the Yaoluoping Nature Reserve in the Dabie Mountains, Anhui, China. The pit viper's the total length measured 836 mm with a dorsal ground color of yellowbrown, decorated by 56 dark-brown transverse bands. The 4thsupralabial squama of the new species is separated from subocular by two squamae, and the tip of tail is orange; this combination of characters distinguish it from other species of the genus Protobothrops. 4PDMS microchannel fabrication technique based on microwire-molding显示文摘Micro-flow channel is basic functional component of microfluidic chip,and every step-forward of its construction technique has been receiving concern all over the world.This article presents a not-complicated but flexible method for fabrication of micro-flow channels.This method mainly utilizes the conventional molding capability of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) and widespread commercial microwires as templates.We have fabricated out some conventional types of microchannels with different topological shapes,as examples for the demonstration of this flexible fabrication route which was not dependent on the stringent demands of photolithographical or microelectromechanical system(MEMS) techniques.The smooth surface,high-intensity,and high flexibility of the wires made it possible to create many types of topological structures of the two-dimensional or three-dimensional microchannel or channel array.The geometric shape of the cross-section of thus forming microchannel in PDMS was the negative of that of embedded-in microwire,in high-fidelity if suitable measures were taken.More-over,such a microchannel fabrication process can easily integrate the conductivity and low resistivity of the metal wire to create micro-flow devices that are suitable for the electromagnetic control of liquid or the temperature regulation in the microchannel.Furthermore some preliminary optical analysis was provided for the observation of thus forming rounded microchannel.Based on this molding strategy,we even made some prototypes for functional microflow application,such as microsolenoids chip and temperature control gadgets.And an experiment of forming a droplet in the cross channel further confirmed the feasibility and applicability of this flexible microchannel forming technique.JIA YueFei JIANG JiaHuan MA XiaoDong LI Yuan HUANG HeMing CAI KunBao CAI ShaoXi WU YunPeng 2008Chinese Science Bulletin2008,53,24:5
5Dynamic and nonlinear properties of epitaxial quantum dot lasers on silicon for isolator-free integration显示文摘This work investigates the dynamic and nonlinear properties of quantum dot(QD) lasers directly grown on silicon with a view to isolator-free applications. Among them, the chirp parameter, also named the αHfactor,is featured through a thermally insensitive method analyzing the residual side-mode dynamics under optical injection locking. The αHat threshold is found as low as 0.32. Then, the nonlinear gain is investigated from the gain compression factor viewpoint. The latter is found higher for epitaxial QD lasers on silicon than that in heterogeneously integrated quantum well(QW) devices on silicon. Despite that, the power dependence of the αHdoes not lead to a large increase of the chirp coefficient above the laser’s threshold at higher bias. This effect is confirmed from an analytical model and attributed to the strong lasing emission of the ground-state transition, which transforms into a critical feedback level as high as-6.5 d B, which is ~19 d B higher than a comparable QW laser.Finally, the intensity noise analysis confirms that QD lasers are overdamped oscillators with damping frequencies as large as 33 GHz. Altogether, these features contribute to fundamentally enhancing the reflection insensitivity of the epitaxial QD lasers. This last feature is unveiled by the 10 Gbit/s error-free high-speed transmission experiments. 8Recognition and localization of strawberries from 3D binocular cameras for a strawberry picking robot using coupled YOLO/Mask R-CNN显示文摘To solve the problem of high labour costs in the strawberry picking process,the approach of a strawberry picking robot to identify and find strawberries is suggested in this study.First,1000 images including mature,immature,single,multiple,and occluded strawberries were collected,and a two-stage detection Mask R-CNN instance segmentation network and a one-stage detection YOLOv3 target detection network were used to train a strawberry identification model which classified strawberries into two categories:mature and immature.The accuracy ratings for YOLOv3 and Mask R-CNN were 93.4%and 94.5%,respectively.Second,the ZED stereo camera,triangulation,and a neural network were used to locate the strawberry in three dimensions.YOLOv3 identification accuracy was 3.1 mm,compared to Mask R-CNN of 3.9 mm.The strawberry detection and positioning method proposed in this study may effectively be used to supply the picking robot with a precise location of the ripe strawberry.Heming Hu Yutaka Kaizu Hongduo Zhang Yongwei Xu Kenji Imou Ming Li Jingjing Huang Sihui Dai 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,6:1

10Uncovering recent progress in nanostructured light-emitters for information and communication technologies显示文摘Semiconductor nanostructures with low dimensionality like quantum dots and quantum dashes are one of the best attractive and heuristic solutions for achieving high performance photonic devices.When one or more spatial dimensions of the nanocrystal approach the de Broglie wavelength,nanoscale size effects create a spatial quantization of carriers leading to a complete discretization of energy levels along with additional quantum phenomena like entangled-photon generation or squeezed states of light among others.This article reviews our recent findings and prospects on nanostructure based light emitters where active region is made with quantum-dot and quantum-dash nanostructures.Many applications ranging from silicon-based integrated technologies to quantum information systems rely on the utilization of such laser sources.Here,we link the material and fundamental properties with the device physics.For this purpose,spectral linewidth,polarization anisotropy,optical nonlinearities as well as microwave,dynamic and nonlinear properties are closely examined.The paper focuses on photonic devices grown on native substrates(InP and GaAs)as well as those heterogeneously and epitaxially grown on silicon substrate.This research pipelines the most exciting recent innovation developed around light emitters using nanostructures as gain media and highlights the importance of nanotechnologies on industry and society especially for shaping the future information and communication society.Frédéric Grillot Jianan Duan Bozhang Dong Heming Huang 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,9:1

13Inhibiting p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase attenuates cerebral ischemic injury in Swedish mutant amyloid precursor protein transgenic mice显示文摘Cerebral ischemia was induced using photothrombosis 1 hour after intraperitoneal injection of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) inhibitor SB239063 into Swedish mutant amyloid precursor protein (APP/SWE) transgenic and non-transgenic mice. The number of surviving neurons in the penumbra was quantified using Nissl staining, and the activity of p38 MAPKs was measured by western blotting. The number of surviving neurons in the penumbra was significantly reduced in APP/SWE transgenic mice compared with non-transgenic controls 7 days after cerebral ischemia, but the activity of p38 MAPKs was significantly elevated compared with the non-ischemic hemisphere in the APP/SWE transgenic mice. SB239063 prevented these changes. 14Method for C/N ratio estimation using Mask R-CNN and a depth camera for organic fraction of municipal solid wastes显示文摘Fast assessment of the initial carbon to nitrogen ratio(C/N)of organic fraction of municipal solid waste(OFMSW)is an important prerequisite for automatic composting control to improve efficiency and stability of the bioconversion process.In this study,a novel approach was proposed to estimate the C/N of OFMSW,where an instance segmentation model was applied to predict the masks for the waste images.Then,by combining the instance segmentation model with the depth-camera-based volume calculation algorithm,the volumes occupied by each type of waste were obtained,therefore the C/N could be estimated based on the properties of each type of waste.First,an instance segmentation dataset including three common classes of OFMSW was built to train mask region-based convolutional neural networks(Mask R-CNN)model.Second,a volume measurement algorithm was proposed,where the measurement result of the object was derived by accumulating the volumes of small rectangular cuboids whose bottom area was calculated with the projection property.Then the calculated volume was corrected with linear regression models.The results showed that the trained instance segmentation model performed well with average precision scores AP_(50)=82.9,AP_(75)=72.5,and mask intersection over unit(Mask IoU)=45.1.A high correlation was found between the estimated C/N and the ground truth with a coefficient of determination R2=0.97 and root mean square error RMSE=0.10.The relative average error was 0.42%and the maximum error was only 1.71%,which indicated this approach has potential for practical applications.Jingjing Huang Hongduo Zhang Xu Xiao Jingqi Huang Jingxin Xie Liang Zhang Heming Hu Sihui Dai Ming Li Yongwei Xu 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,5:0

16Design and performance test of a novel UAV air-assisted electrostatic centrifugal spraying system显示文摘In order to improve the deposition and uniformity of the pesticide sprayed by the agricultural spraying drone,this study designed a novel spraying system,combining air-assisted spraying system with electrostatic technology.First,an air-assisted electrostatic centrifugal spray system was designed for agricultural spraying drones,including a shell,a diversion shell,and an electrostatic ring.Then,experiments were conducted to optimize the setting of the main parameters that affect the charge-to-mass ratio,and outdoor spraying experiments were carried out on the spraying effect of the air-assisted electrostatic centrifugal spray system.The results showed the optimum parameters were that the centrifugal rotation speed was 10000 r/min,the spray pressure was 0.3 MPa,the fan rotation speed was 14000 r/min,and the electrostatic generator voltage was 9 kV;The optimum charge-to-mass ratio of the spray system was 2.59 mC/kg.The average deposition density of droplets on the collecting platform was 366.1 particles/cm^(2) on the upper layer,345.1 particles/cm^(2) on the middle layer,and 322.5 particles/cm^(2) on the lower layer.Compared to the results of uncharged droplets on the upper,middle,and lower layers,the average deposition density was increased by 34.9%,30.4%,and 30.2%,respectively,and the uniformity of the distribution of the droplets at different collection points was better.Heming Hu Yutaka Kaizu Jingjing Huang Kenichi Furuhashi Hongduo Zhang Xu Xiao Ming Li Kenji Imou 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,5:0

18Cost-effective method for degradability identification of MSW using convolutional neural network for on-site composting显示文摘Automatically identifying the degradability of municipal solid waste(MSW)is one of the key prerequisites for on-site composting to prevent contaminations from undegradable wastes.In this study,a cost-effective method was proposed for the degradability identification of MSW.Firstly,the trainable images in the datasets were increased by performing four different sizes of cropping operations on the original images captured on-site.Secondly,a lite convolutional neural network(CNN)model was built with only 3.37 million parameters,and then a total of eight models were trained on these datasets with and without the image augmentation operations,respectively.Finally,a degradability identification system was built for on-site composting,where the images were cut to different sizes of small squares for prediction,and the experiments were conducted to find the best combinations of the trained models and the cutting size.The results showed that the validation accuracies of the models trained with the augmentation operations were 0.91-2.07 percentage points higher,and in the evaluation of the degradability identification system the best result was achieved by the combination of W8A dataset and cutting size of 1/14 reached an accuracy of 91.58%,which indicated the capability of this cost-effective method to identify the degradability of MSW.Jingjing Huang Sihui Dai Heming Hu Hongduo Zhang Jingxin Xie Ming Li 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,4:0
