2Grazing effects on herbage nutritive values depend on precipitation and growing season in Inner Mongolian grassland显示文摘Aims Grasslands are widely used for production of livestock,which depend on the nutritive value of herbage species.However,there are still large uncertainties as to how grazing,precipitation and growing season interactively affect herbage nutritive value.Methods Here,based on a grazing experiment with seven grazing intensities in an Inner Mongolian grassland since the year 2005,we analysed nutritive value of four dominant grass species from June to September in both a relatively wetter year(2008)and a drier year(2010).Herbage with high nutritive value is characterized by high concentration of crude protein,high concentration of cellulase digestible organic matter and low concentration of neutral detergent fibre.Important Findings We found that(i)grazing significantly increased the nutritive value of Leymus chinensis,Agropyron michnoi and Cleistogenes squarrosa but had minor effects on the nutritive value of Stipa grandis.(ii)For all species,nutritive values were greater in the wetter year than in the drier year and were greatest in the early growing season(June)and lowest at the end of the growing season(September).Inter-annual and inter-seasonal variations in nutritive value were much greater for L.chinensis and A.michnoi than for C.squarrosa and S.grandis,suggesting higher water use efficiency for the latter two species.(iii)Grazing significantly decreased the drought resistance of three species,but not of S.grandis.(iv)Grazing significantly increased inter-month variation in nutritive value for L.chinensis and A.michnoi but had relatively minor or no effects on that of C.squarrosa and S.grandis.Therefore,grazing effects on species nutritive values showed strong inter-annual and seasonal patterns,and species-specific responses might be related to species traits(i.e.water use efficiency,digestibility).Our results have important implications for ecosystem management of arid and semiarid grasslands under intense grazing and global climatic change.Haiyan Ren Guodong Han Zhichun Lan Hongwei Wan Philipp Schönbach Martin Gierus Friedhelm Taube 2016Journal of Plant Ecology2016,9,6:14

5High-performance flexural fatigue of carbon nanotube yarns显示文摘Carbon nanotube yarns(CNTY)possess good specific strength and specific conductivity.As such,their potential for commercial applications is significant.Fatigue performance is a significant consideration in yarn/wire applications.In this study,the flexural fatigue performance of CNTY spun from super-aligned carbon nanotube arrays was investigated using a reversed bending test.The results showed that CNTY exhibited excellent resistance to pure flexural fatigue,significantly outperforming stainless steel wire;CNTY failed where a combination of flexural fatigue and tension–tension fatigue had special hollow fracture morphology,and CNTY resistance remained fundamentally unchanged in the combination fatigue process.Fu Xu Xiaolong Mo Sen Wan Changqing Jiang Hongwei Hao Luming Li 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,29:2

13Multiscale design and biomechanical evaluation of porous spinal fusion cage to realize specified mechanical properties显示文摘Backgrou nd Dense titanium(Ti)fusion cages have been commonly used in transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion.However,the stiffness mismatch between cages and adjacent bone endplates increases the risk of stress shielding and cage subsidence.Methods The current study presents a multiscale optimization approach for porous Ti fusion cage development,including microscale topology optimization based on homogenization theory that obtains a unit cell with prescribed mechanical properties,and macroscale topology optimization that determines the layout of framework structure over the porous cage while maintaining the desired stiffness.The biomechanical performance of the designed porous cage is assessed using numerical simulations of fusion surgery.Selective laser melting is employed to assists with fabricating the designed porous structure and porous cage.Results The simulations demonstrate that the designed porous cage increases the strain energy density of bone grafts and decreases the peak stress on bone endplates.The mechanical and morphological discrepancies between the as-designed and fabricated porous structures are also described.Conclusion From the perspective of biomechanics,it is demonstrated that the designed porous cage contributes to reducing the risk of stress shielding and cage subsidence.The optimization of processing parameters and post-treatments are required to fabricate the designed porous cage.The present multiscale optimization approach can be extended to the development of cages with other shapes or materials and further types of orthopedic implants.Hongwei Wang Yi Wan Quhao Li Xinyu Liu Mingzhi Yu Xiao Zhang Yan Xia Qidong Sun Zhanqiang Liu 2022Bio-Design and Manufacturing2022,5,2:1
14Screen printing process control for coating high throughput titanium dioxide films toward printable mesoscopic perovskite solar cells显示文摘Screen printing technique has been widely applied for the manufacturing of both traditional silicon solar cells and emerging photovoltaics such as dyesensitized solar cells(DSSCs)and perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Particularly,we have developed a printable mesoscopic PSC based on a triple layer scaffold of TiO2/ZrO2/carbon.The deposition of the scaftold is entirely based on screen printing process,which provides a promising prospect for low-cost photovoltaics.However,the optimal thickness of the TiO2 layer for fabricating efficient printable PSCs is much smaller than the typical thickness of screen printed films.Here,we tune the concentration of the pastes and the printing parameters for coating TiO?films,and successfully print TiO2 films with the thickness of 500-550 nm.The correlation between the thickness of the films and printing parameters such as the solid content and viscosity of the pastes,the printing speed and pressure,and the temperature has been investigated.Besides,the edge effect that the edge of the TiO2 films possesses a much larger thickness and printing positional accuracy have been studied.This work will significantly benefit the further development of printable mesoscopic PSCs.Zhining WAN Mi XU Zhengyang FU Da LI Anyi MEI Yue HU Yaoguang RONG Hongwei HAN 2019Frontiers of Optoelectronics2019,12,4:1
15Infrared Spectra of La_(0.65)Ba_xMnO_(3-δ) Oxides显示文摘The infrared spectra of La0.65BaxMnO(3-|?£(c) (x = 0.35, 0.33 and 0.30) were investigated experimentally. The result shows that the sample La0.65BaxMnO(3-|?£(c) has the largest Curie temperature and the smallest resistivity and wave number of the stretching vibration mode of MnO6 octaheUron at 300 K among the investigated samples. However, the absorption strength for the stretching vibration mode of Mn06 octahedron in La0.65BaxMnO(3-|?£(c) is stronger for parainagnetic phase than that for ferromagnelic phase, which may be connected with the reducing of the dynamic in- coherent Jahn-Teller distortion below Curie temperature. 19Transcriptome analysis of salt-stress response in three seedling tissues of common wheat显示文摘Xiaoyan 60(XY60) is a new wheat variety bred in the laboratory of Zhensheng Li.After salt treatment, seedlings of XY60 maintain green leaves and produce longer roots than the high yielding cultivar Zhongmai 175(ZM175).To explain these different phenotypes we carried out an RNA-Seq analysis using 12 samples from three tissues of both varieties subjected to salt and control treatments.By comparing data from the salt treated plants with the control, 703, 979, and 1197 differentially expressed genes(DEGs) were detected in new leaves, old leaves, and roots of XY60, respectively.The corresponding numbers for ZM175 were 613, 1401, and 1301.The most significantly enriched Gene Ontology(GO) terms and KEGG pathways were associated with polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA) metabolism in both new and old leaves from XY60.They were associated with photosynthesis and energy metabolism in ZM175.The most significantly enriched KEGG pathway in roots of both varieties was “glucosinolate biosynthesis”.In addition, jasmonic acid(JA) concentration in XY60 was higher than in ZM175, although it increased significantly in both varieties following salt treatment.Trends in relative expression levels of AOS, MYC2, and JAZ revealed by qRT-PCR were concordant with those from RNA-Seq.Our results suggest that PUFAs may contribute to salt tolerance in common wheat by enhancing the photosynthetic system and JA-related pathways.Qiaoling Luo Wan Teng Shuang Fang Hongwei Li Bin Li Jinfang Chu Zhensheng Li Qi Zheng 2019The Crop Journal2019,7,3:1
20Novel quantum circuit implementation of Advanced Encryption Standard with low costs显示文摘In this study, we examine how the quantum circuit of the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES) can be optimized from two aspects, i.e., number of qubits and T-depth. To reduce the number of qubits, we present three kinds of improved quantum circuits of S-box for different phases in the AES. We found that the number of qubits in the round function can be decreased by introducing the circuit sending |a> to |S(a)>. As a result, compared with the previous quantum circuits where 400/640/768 qubits are required,our circuits of AES-128/-192/-256 only require 270/334/398 qubits. To reduce the T-depth, we propose a new circuit of AES's S-box with a T-depth of 4.
