1Mode for reducing wind curtailment based on battery transportation显示文摘Renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, face several obstacles, including curtailment, where the generated energy exceeds local demand and production must be reduced because of limited transmission capacity.Simultaneously, consumer demand for large-capacity batteries is expanding given the recent rapid development of electric vehicles(EVs) and plug-in hybrid EVs. A batterycharging mode, in which discharged batteries are transported from battery exchange stations in high-load areas to wind farms, is proposed to alleviate curtailment. In this study, batteries store otherwise curtailed energy and smooth the wind power output simultaneously. The structure of the battery-charging device is discussed, and the concept of a battery-charging container is proposed. The control principle of the battery-charging management unit is presented with a simulation model constructed in the PSCAD/EMTDC environment. A case study is simulated,and the feasibility of the mode is analyzed considering the levelized cost and energy losses. 2Encapsulation of lyophilized platelet-rich fibrin in alginate-hyaluronic acid hydrogel as a novel vascularized substitution for myocardial infarction显示文摘Cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction(MI)are among the major causes of death worldwide.Although intramyocardial injection of hydrogels can effectively enhance the ventricular wall,this approach is limited because of its restriction to the poor vascularization in the infarcted myocardium.Here,we reported a new type of hydrogel composed of alginate(ALG)and hyaluronic acid(HA)with lyophilized platelet-rich fibrin(Ly-PRF)for releasing abundant growth factors to realize their respective functions.The results of in vitro studies demonstrated favorable mechanical property and release ability of ALG-HA with Ly-PRF.When injected into the infarcted myocardium,this composite hydrogel preserved heart function and the Ly-PRF within the hydrogel promoted angiogenesis and increased vascular density in both infarcted and border zone,which rescued the ischemic myocardium.These beneficial effects were also accompanied by macrophage polarization and regulation of myocardial fibrosis.Moreover,the autologous origin of Ly-PRF with ALG-HA hydrogel offers myriad advantages including safety profile,easiness to obtain and cost-effectiveness.Overall,this study demonstrated the versatile therapeutic effects of a novel composite hydrogel ALG-HA with Ly-PRF,which optimizes a promising vascularized substitution strategy for improving cardiac function after MI.Bei Qian Qi Yang Mingliang Wang Shixing Huang Chenyu Jiang Hongpeng Shi Qiang Long Mi Zhou Qiang Zhao Xiaofeng Ye 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,1:2
3Cancer Ig G, a potential prognostic marker, promotes colorectal cancer progression显示文摘Objective: Currently, no satisfactory targets for colorectal cancer or markers for immunotherapy and diagnosis and prognosis are available. Immunoglobulin G(Ig G) is widely expressed in many cancers, and it promotes cancer progression. This study explored the role of cancer-derived Ig G(CIg G) in colorectal cancer.Methods: First, using a monoclonal antibody to CIg G, we examined the expression levels of CIg G in colorectal cancer cell lines by western blot and immunofluorescence analyses and in tissue specimens by immunohistochemistry. Second, the variable region gene was amplified by nested polymerase chain reaction(PCR), and PCR products were sequenced and analyzed. Third, we investigated the effect of CIg G on colorectal cancer cells by cell proliferation, wound healing, migration and invasion assays, and colony formation assay. Fourth, we performed in vivo tumorigenicity experiments to explore the effect of CIg G on tumorigenicity. Finally, we used RNA-seq analysis and co-immunoprecipitation experiments to further clarify possible mechanisms of CIg G.Results: We found that CIg G is widely expressed in colorectal cancer cells, and the overexpression of CIg G indicates significantly poor colorectal cancer prognosis. Furthermore, CIg G knockdown significantly inhibits the proliferation, migration and invasion ability of cells, and tumor growth in vivo. RNA-seq analysis indicated that CIg G knockdown results primarily in changes in expression of apical junction and epithelial-mesenchymal transition-related genes. 5Optimal dose of zinc supplementation for preventing aluminum-induced neurotoxicity in rats显示文摘Zinc supplementation can help maintain learning and memory function in rodents.In this study,we hypothesized that zinc supplementation could antagonize the neurotoxicity induced by aluminum in rats.Animals were fed a diet containing different doses of zinc(50,100,200 mg/kg)for 9 weeks,and orally administered aluminum chloride(300 mg/kg daily)from the third week for 7 consecutive weeks.Open-field behavioral test results showed that the number of rearings in the group given the100 mg/kg zinc supplement was significantly increased compared with the group given the50 mg/kg zinc supplement.Malondialdehyde content in the cerebrum was significantly decreased,while dopamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine levels were increased in the groups given the diet supplemented with 100 and 200 mg/kg zinc,compared with the group given the diet supplemented with50 mg/kg zinc.The acetylcholinesterase activity in the cerebrum was significantly decreased in the group given the 100 mg/kg zinc supplement.Hematoxylin-eosin staining revealed evident pathological damage in the hippocampus of rats in the group given the diet supplemented with 50 mg/kg zinc,but the damage was attenuated in the groups given the diet supplemented with 100 and200 mg/kg zinc.Our findings suggest that zinc is a potential neuroprotective agent against aluminum-induced neurotoxicity in rats,and the optimal dosages are 100 and 200 mg/kg.Hao Lu Jianyang Hu Jing Li Wei Pang Yandan Hu Hongpeng Yang Wenjie Li Chengyu Huang Mingman Zhang Yugang Jiang 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,29:0
6Tailoring morphology symmetry of bismuth vanadate photocatalysts for efficient charge separation显示文摘Although spatial charge separation between different facets of semiconductor crystals has been recognized as a general strategy in photocatalysis, the vital role of crystal morphology symmetry in charge separation properties still remains elusive. Herein,taking monoclinic bismuth vanadate(BiVO_(4)) as a platform, we found distinct charge separation difference via rationally tailoring the morphology symmetry from octahedral to truncated octahedral crystals. For octahedral BiVO_(4), photogenerated electrons and holes can be separated between edges and quasi-equivalent facets. However, as for truncated octahedral crystals,photogenerated electrons tend to transfer to {010} facets while photogenerated holes prefer to accumulate on {120} facets, thus realizing the spatial separation of photogenerated charge between different facets. Morphology tailoring of BiVO_(4) crystals leads to a significantly improved photogenerated charge separation efficiency and photocatalytic water oxidation activity. The built-in electric field for driving the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes is considered to be modulated by tuning the morphology symmetry of BiVO_(4) crystals. 7Enhancement in boiling heat transfer performance using reduced graphene oxide coating with controllable components and porous structures显示文摘Enhancement in boiling heat transfer performance is significant for addressing thermal management bottlenecks of advanced electronic systems.Reduced graphene oxides(rGO)are regarded as promising candidates for thermal management due to their excellent thermal properties,chemical stability and adjustable wettability.In this study,rGO coatings with micron pores and controllable oxygen contents are prepared on Al substrate via cathodic electrophoretic deposition and subsequent thermal annealing,leading to enhanced pool boiling performance.The heat transfer coefficient for Al/rGO450is 37.2 kW m-2K-1,which is increased by 112.6%compared with bare Al,also outperformed previously reported Al based substrates.It is assumed that the hydrophilic and aerophobic r GO coatings effectively promote the liquid infiltration and bubble departure during pool boiling process.Importantly,repeatability tests indicate the durable stability of vertically oriented rGO nanosheets.Reverse nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulation indicates that the interfacial transmission coefficients of Al/rGO increase after thermal annealing,indicative of the enhanced heat transfer performance of heterogeneous interface.Our study opens a new avenue for endowing metal substrates with high pool boiling performance using porous carbon coating nanoengineering strategy with controllable morphology and components.XU ZhiMing WANG XiaoLiang JIANG HongPeng ZHANG ZhiRong SHAN DeBin GUO Bin QIU YunFeng XU Jie 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,7:0

9Long noncoding RNA TMEM147-AS1 serves as a microRNA-326 sponge to aggravate the malignancy of gastric cancer by upregulating SMAD5显示文摘The abnormal expression of long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)is frequently observed in gastric cancer(GC)and considered an important driving force in GC progression.However,little is known regarding the involvement of TMEM147-AS1 in GC.Therefore,we examined TMEM147-AS1 expression in GC and determined its prognostic value.In addition,TMEM147-AS1 expression was depleted to identify the functional changes in response to TMEM147-AS1 deficiency.Using the cancer genome atlas dataset and our own cohort,we identified a strong expression of TMEM147-AS1 in GC.Increased TMEM147-AS1 levels in GC showed a significant association with poor prognosis.TMEM147-AS1 interference resulted in the inhibition of GC cell proliferation,colony-forming,migration,and invasion in vitro.Additionally,depletion of TMEM147-AS1 restricted the growth of GC cells in vivo.Mechanistically,TMEM147-AS1 functioned as a microRNA-326(miR-326)sponge.Furthermore,SMAD family member 5(SMAD5)was experimentally validated as the functional effector of miR-326.TMEM147-AS1 was demonstrated to sequester miR-326 away from SMAD5;consequently,knocking down TMEM147-AS1 downregulated SMAD5 levels in GC cells.The functional suppression of miR-326 or reintroduction of SMAD5 effectively reversed the attenuated behavior of GC cells caused by TMEM147-AS1 downregulation.In summary,TMEM147-AS1 exhibits tumorigenic activities in GC,which is likely the result of an altered miR-326/SMAD5 axis.Therefore,targeting TMEM147-AS1/miR-326/SMAD5 may represent a target for the treatment of GC.XUFU QIN ZIYE JIANG YONGCUI ZHU HONGPENG XUE CHENGQUN WEI 2021Oncology Research2021,29,4:0
