| 4 | Machine-learning-assisted discovery of polymers with high thermal conductivity using a molecular design algorithm显示文摘The use of machine learning in computational molecular design has great potential to accelerate the discovery of innovative materials.However,its practical benefits still remain unproven in real-world applications,particularly in polymer science.We demonstrate the successful discovery of new polymers with high thermal conductivity,inspired by machine-learning-assisted polymer chemistry.This discovery was made by the interplay between machine intelligence trained on a substantially limited amount of polymeric properties data,expertise from laboratory synthesis and advanced technologies for thermophysical property measurements.Using a molecular design algorithm trained to recognize quantitative structure—property relationships with respect to thermal conductivity and other targeted polymeric properties,we identified thousands of promising hypothetical polymers.From these candidates,three were selected for monomer synthesis and polymerization because of their synthetic accessibility and their potential for ease of processing in further applications.The synthesized polymers reached thermal conductivities of 0.18–0.41 W/mK,which are comparable to those of state-of-the-art polymers in non-composite thermo-plastics. | Stephen Wu Yukiko Kondo Masa-aki Kakimoto Bin Yang Hironao Yamada Isao Kuwajima Guillaume Lambard Kenta Hongo Yibin Xu Junichiro Shiomi Christoph Schick Junko Morikawa Ryo Yoshida | 2019 | npj Computational Materials2019,,1: | 14 |
| 5 | IgG4-unrelated type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis显示文摘A 50-year-old male was referred to our hospital for the evaluation of hyperproteinemia.Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography revealed high fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in the pancreas,bilateral lacrimal glands,submandibular glands,parotid glands,bilateral pulmonary hilar lymph nodes,and kidneys.Laboratory data showed an elevation of hepatobiliary enzymes,renal dysfunction,and remarkably high immunoglobulin(Ig) G levels,without elevated serum IgG4.Abdominal computed tomography revealed swelling of the pancreatic head and bilateral kidneys.Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography showed an irregular narrowing of the main pancreatic duct in the pancreatic head and stricture of the lower common bile duct.Histological examination by endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine-needle aspiration revealed findings of lymphoplasmacytic sclerosing pancreatitis without IgG4-positive plasma cells.Abnormal laboratory values and the swelling of several organs were improved by the treatment with steroids.The patient was diagnosed as having type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP) based on the International Consensus Diagnostic Criteria.Therefore,we encountered a case of compatible type 1 AIP without elevated levels of serum IgG4 or IgG4-positive plasma cells.This case suggests that AIP phenotypes are not always associated with IgG4. | Eriko Nakano Atsushi Kanno Atsushi Masamune Naoki Yoshida Seiji Hongo Shin Miura Tetsuya Takikawa Shin Hamada Kiyoshi Kume Kazuhiro Kikuta Morihisa Hirota Keisuke Nakayama Fumiyoshi Fujishima Tooru Shimosegawa | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,33: | 3 |
| 6 | Indirect inguinal hernia containing portosystemic shunt vessel: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most common general surgical operations worldwide.We present a case of indirect inguinal hernia containing an expanded portosystemic shunt vessel.CASE SUMMARY We report a 72-year-old man who had a 4 cm×4 cm swelling in the right inguinal region,which disappeared with light manual pressure.Abdominal-pelvic computed tomography(CT)revealed a right inguinal hernia containing an expanded portosystemic shunt vessel,which had been noted for 7 years due to liver cirrhosis.We performed Lichtenstein’s herniorrhaphy and identified the hernia sac as being indirect and the shunt vessel existing in the extraperitoneal cavity through the internal inguinal ring.Then,we found two short branches between the expanded shunt vessel and testicular vein in the middle part of the inguinal canal and cut these branches to allow the shunt vessel to return to the extraperitoneal cavity of the abdomen.The hernia sac was returned as well.We encountered no intraoperative complications.After discharge,groin seroma requiring puncture at the outpatient clinic was observed.CONCLUSION If an inguinal hernia patient has portal hypertension,ultrasound should be used to determine the contents of the hernia.When atypical vessels are visualized,they may be shunt vessels and additional CT is recommended to ensure the selection of an adequate approach for safe hernia repair. | Masahiro Yura Kikuo Yo Asuka Hara Keita Hayashi Yuki Tajima Yasushi Kaneko Hiroto Fujisaki AkiraHirata Kiminori Takano Kumiko Hongo Kimiyasu Yoneyama Motohito Nakagawa | 2021 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2021,9,2: | 2 |

| 8 | Evaluation of microstructure and creep damage in high-Cr ferritic steel welds显示文摘11Cr-0.4Mo-2W-CuVNb steel (ASME Gr.122) is used for boiler components in ultra-supercritical (USC) thermal power plants.The creep strength of high-Cr steel welds decreases due to the formation of Type IV creep damage in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) during long-term use at high temperatures.In the present study,the processes and mechanisms of Type IV creep damage were elucidated by investigating the long-term creep strength,microstructure and damage behavior of Gr.122 steel welds.Creep tests using thick welded joints were interrupted at several time steps,and the initiation,evolution and distribution of creep damage were measured.It was found that the formation and growth of creep damage was suppressed during the steady-state stage;creep voids formed at 0.5 of life,and coalesced to form a crack after 0.9 of life.Type IV creep damage was mostly observed in the area about 30% below the surface of the plate.Differences in creep damage behavior between Gr.122 and Gr.91 steel welds were examined.Experimental creep damage distribution was compared with computed versions using the finite element method and damage mechanics. | Masaaki TABUCHI Hiromichi HONGO | 2011 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2011,24,3: | 2 |
