1The epidemiology of norovirus gastroenteritis in China:disease burden and distribution of genotypes显示文摘With the improvements of sanitation and nationwide safe water supply the occurrence of bacterial diarrhea declined remarkably,while viruses became the leading causes of acute gastroenteritis(AGE).Of these viruses,noroviruses(NoVs)are responsible for a considerable burden of gastroenteritis,especially in children<2 years and elderly≥65 years.NoVs circulating in the Chinese population are antigenically highly diverse with the genotype GII.4 being the dominant strain followed by GII.3.Given the widespread contamination in environmental sources,and highly infectious nature of NoVs,vaccination would be the desirable strategy for the control of NoV infections.However,a better understanding of acquired immunity after infection,and a reliable immunological surrogate marker are urgently needed,since two vaccine candidates based on virus-like particles(VLPs)are currently moving into clinical evaluations in China.Honglu Zhou Songmei Wang Lorenz von Seidlein Xuanyi Wang 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,1:28
2Effect of 2-(3-carboxy-1-oxopropyl) amino-2-deoxy-D-glucose on human esophageal cancer cell line显示文摘AIM: TO determine whether 2-(3-carboxy-l-oxopropyl) amino-2-deoxy-D-glucose (COPADG), a derivative of D-amino-glucose, inhibited the growth of human esophageal cancer cell line Eca-109. METHODS: Effects of COPADG on Eca-109 cells cultured in RPMI 1640 medium were examined by a tetrazoliumbased colorimetric assay (MTT assay). RESULTS: COPADG inhibited the growth of Eca-109 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner; the maximumin hibition rate was 83.75%. 4Quantum entanglement of the binomial field interacting with a cascade three-level atom beyond the rotating wave approximation显示文摘In this paper, the quantum entanglement between a single mode binomial field and a cascade three-level atom is calculated mechanically without the rotating wave approximation. The numerical results indicate that the quantum entanglement at the first few periods is reduced notably due to the fact that the atom is initially in the superposition state. 5Toxicity of novel anti-hepatitis drug bicyclol: A preclinical study显示文摘AIM: To study the toxicity of bicyclol to animals.METHODS: Acute toxicity test was performed in Kunming strain mice that were orally given bicyclol at the doses of 3 and 5 g/kg body weight, respectively. Wistar rats were orally administered bicyclol at a dose of 5 g/kg body weight. Death and clinical symptoms of animals were recorded within 7 d. Sub-acute toxicity test was carried out in rats that were treated with various doses of bicyclol (150, 300, 600 mg/kg) once daily for 14 d.Animal behaviors, blood biochemical markers, blood and urine pictures were examined. Chronic toxicity test was conducted in 80 Wistar rats of both sexes. The animals were orally administered with various doses of bicyclol[150, 300, 600 mg/kg, 100-400 folds corresponding to for patients] once daily for 6 mo except for Sunday. The control group was given the same volume of 0.2%sodium carboxyl methylcellulose (Na-CMC). Twenty-one beagle dogs received bicyclol (25, 75, 225 mg/kg, 16.6,50, 150 folds corresponding to the proposed therapeutic dose of bicyclol for patients) once a day for 6 mo except for Sunday. The body weight, food intake, urine and feces, blood picture, blood biochemical markers, and pathological examination of main organs were determined. Mutagenicity and teratogenicity were determined. Mutagenicity assay included Ames's test, chromosome aberration test in CHL cells and micronucleus test in mice. For the teratogenicity assay, pregnant Wistar rats weighing 200-250 g were treated with 0.2, 1.0 g/kg bicyclol once daily from the 7th d of gestation for 10 d.RESULTS: The oral LD50 of bicyclol was over 5 g/kg in mice and rats. No noticeable alterations in subacute and chronic toxicity of rats and dogs were demonstrated. 6Construction, expression and characterization of human interferon α2b-(G4S)n-thymosin α1 fusion proteins in Pichia pastoris显示文摘AIM: Interferon α2b (IFNα2b) and thymosin α1 (Tα1) exhibit synergic effects in the treatment of hepatitis B and hepatitis C when used together. For developing a fusion protein drug, fusion proteins of IFNα2b and Tα1 linked by different lengths of (G4S)n (n = 1-3) were constructed and expressed in Pichia pastoris.METHODS: Using PCR and molecular clone techniques, the fusion genes of IFNα2b-(G4S)n-Tα1 (n = 1-3) were constructed and subcloned into the eukaryotic expression vector pPIC9. After transformation of these plasmids into P. pastoris, the expressed fusion proteins IFNα2b-(G4S)n-Tα1 (n = 1-3) were obtained. These proteins were purified through diethylaminoethyl (DEAE) affinity chromatography and SuperdexTM 75 gel filtration and analyzed by SDSPAGE and Western blot. Antiviral and E-rosette assays were used to investigate the bioactivities of these fusion proteins.RESULTS: DNA sequencing confirmed that the fusion genes of IFNα2b-(G4 S)n-Tα1 (n = 1-3) were correctly cloned to the pPIC9 vector. The recombinant IFNα2b(G4 S)n-Tα1 (n = 1-3) fusion proteins expressed in P. pastoris were purified with DEAE and SuperdexTM 75 gel filtration chromatography. The fusion proteins could be observed on sodium dodecylsulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis with molecular weight (MW) of 23.2, 22.9, and 22.6 ku, respectively, and reacted to the IFNα2b monoclonal antibody and Tα1 polyclonal antibody. The purified fusion proteins exhibit antiviral activity and can enhance the percentage of E-rosette-forming-cell in E-rosette assay.CONCLUSION: The recombinant IFNα2b-(G4S)n-Tα1 (n = 1-3) fusion proteins were successfully expressed in P. pastoris. Purified fusion proteins exhibit both antiviral activity of IFNα2b and immunomodulatory activity of Tα1 in vitro. 7Well-balanced numerical modelling of non-uniform sediment transport in alluvial rivers显示文摘The last two decades have witnessed the development and application of well-balanced numerical models for shallow flows in natural rivers.However,until now there have been no such models for flows with non-uniform sediment transport.This paper presents a 1D well-balanced model to simulate flows and non-capacity transport of non-uniform sediment in alluvial rivers.The active layer formulation is adopted to resolve the change of bed sediment composition.In the framework of the finite volume Slope Llmiter Centred(SLIC) scheme,a surface gradient method is incorporated to attain well-balanced solutions to the governing equations.The proposed model is tested against typical cases with irregular topography,including the refilling of dredged trenches,aggradation due to sediment overloading and flood flow due to landslide dam failure.The agreement between the computed results and measured data is encouraging.Compared to a non-well-balanced model,the well-balanced model features improved performance in reproducing stage,velocity and bed deformation.It should find general applications for non-uniform sediment transport modelling in alluvial rivers,especially in mountain areas where the bed topography is mostly irregular.Honglu Qian Zhixian Cao Gareth Pender Huaihan Liu Peng Hu 2015International Journal of Sediment Research2015,30,2:4

9A Novel Analysis of Delay and Power Consumption for Polling Schemes in the IoT显示文摘In the Internet of Things(IoT), various battery-powered wireless devices are connected to collect and exchange data, and typical traffic is periodic and heterogeneous. Polling with power management is a very promising technique that can be used for communication among these devices in the IoT. In this paper, we propose a novel and scalable model to study the delay and the power consumption performance for polling schemes with power management under heterogeneous settings(particularly the heterogeneous sleeping interval). In our model,by introducing the concept of virtual polling interval, we successfully convert the considered energy-efficient polling scheme into an equivalent purely-limited vacation system. Thus, we can easily evaluate the mean and variance of the delay and the power consumption by applying existing queueing formulae, without developing a new theoretical model as required in previous works. 10Aging effect on the mobility and bioavailability of copper in soil显示文摘Aging effect on the mobility and bioavailability of copper(Cu) was investigated using a spiked soil with different incubation periods from 3 to 56 d.Wheat was planted and earthworms were cultured separately in the incubated soils.The mobility of Cu in soil was evaluated by a chemical fractionation scheme and the toxicity and bioavailability were assessed by measuring the biomass and Cu concentration in tissues.Results showed that aging had a significant effect on Cu fraction distribution,of which Cu tended to incorporate from the exchangeable into more stable fractions such as the reducible and oxidisable fractions.However,aging had little effect on Cu bioavailability to wheat and earthworm.Comparing the soil being incubated for 3 d and 56 d,Cu concentration in wheat roots decreased from 14.5 to 12.8 mg/kg,and no significant changes in Cu concentration were observed in both wheat shoots and earthworms.The Cu concentration was around 2.0 and 50 mg/kg for wheat shoots and earthworms,respectively,irrespective of soil incubation time.The CaCl2-extractable Cu had a linear relationship with Cu concentration in wheat roots(R2 = 0.65,P < 0.05),but no linear relationship can be found for wheat shoots and earthworms.Biological control may be more crucial for Cu accumulation in organism than the changes in soil Cu fraction caused by aging.LU Anxiang ZHANG Shuzhen QIN Xiangyang WU Wenyong LIU Honglu 2009Journal of Environmental Sciences2009,21,2:3

12The E Protein Is a Multifunctional Membrane Protein of SARS-CoV显示文摘The E (envelope) protein is the smallest structural protein in all coronaviruses andis the only viral structural protein in which no variation has been detected. Weconducted genome sequencing and phylogenetic analyses of SARS-CoV. Based ongenome sequencing, we predicted the E protein is a transmembrane (TM) pro-tein characterized by a TM region with strong hydrophobicity and α-helix con-formation. We identified a segment (NH2-_L-Cys-A-Y-Cys-Cys-N_-COOH) in thecarboxyl-terminal region of the E protein that appears to form three disulfide bondswith another segment of corresponding cysteines in the carboxyl-terminus of the S(spike) protein. These bonds point to a possible structural association between theE and S proteins. 13Strength reduction factors for seismic analyses of buildings exposed to near-fault ground motions显示文摘To estimate the near-fault inelastic response spectra, the accuracy of six existing strength reduction factors (R) proposed by different investigators were evaluated by using a suite of near-fault earthquake records with directivity-induced pulses. In the evaluation, the force-deformation relationship is modelled by elastic-perfectly plastic, bilinear and stiffness degrading models, and two site conditions, rock and soil, are considered. The R-value ratio (ratio of the R value obtained from the existing R-expressions (or the R-μ-T relationships) to that from inelastic analyses) is used as a measurement parameter. Results show that the R-expressions proposed by Ordaz & Perez-Rocha are the most suitable for near-fault ground motions, followed by the Newmark & Hall and the Berrill et al. relationships. 15Cell-nucleus structured electrolyte for low-temperature aqueous zinc batteries显示文摘Rechargeable aqueous zinc(Zn) batteries hold great promise for large-scale energy storage,but their implementation is plagued by poor Zn reversibility and unsatisfactory low-temperature performance.Herein,we design a cell-nucleus structured electrolyte by introducing low-polarity 1,2-dimethoxyethane(DME) into dilute 1 M zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate(Zn(OTf)_(2)) aqueous solution,which features an OTf--rich Zn2^(+)-primary solvation sheath(PSS,inner nucleus) and the DMEmodulated Zn^(2+)-outer solvation sheath(outer layer).We find that DME additives with a low dosage do not participate in the Zn2+-PSS but reinforce the Zn-OTf-coordination,which guarantees good reaction kinetics under ultralow temperatures.Moreover,DME breaks the original H-bonding network of H2O,depressing the freezing point of electrolyte to-52.4℃.Such a cell-nucleus-solvation structure suppresses the H_(2)O-induced side reactions and forms an anion-derived solid electrolyte interphase on Zn and can be readily extended to 1,2-diethoxyethane.The as-designed electrolyte enables the Zn electrode deep cycling stability over 3500 h with a high depth-of-discharge of 51.3% and endows the Zn‖V_(2)O_(5)full battery with stable cycling over 1000 cycles at 40℃.This work would inspire the solvation structure design for low-temperature aqueous batteries.Yang Dong Ning Zhang Zhaodong Wang Jinhan Li Youxuan Ni Honglu Hu Fangyi Cheng 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,8:2
16Research on energy storage capacity configuration for PV power plants using uncertainty analysis and its applications显示文摘Compensating for photovoltaic(PV)power forecast errors is an important function of energy storage systems.As PV power outputs have strong random fluctuations and uncertainty,it is difficult to satisfy the grid-connection requirements using fixed energy storage capacity configuration methods.In this paper,a method of configuring energy storage capacity is proposed based on the uncertainty of PV power generation.A k-means clustering algorithm is used to classify weather types based on differences in solar irradiance.The power forecast errors in different weather types are analyzed,and an energy storage system is used to compensate for the errors.The kernel density estimation is used to fit the distributions of the daily maximum power and maximum capacity requirements of the energy storage system;the power and capacity of the energy storage unit are calculated at different confidence levels.The optimized energy storage configuration of a PV plant is presented according to the calculated degrees of power and capacity satisfaction.The proposed method was validated using actual operating data from a PV power station.The results indicated that the required energy storage can be significantly reduced while compensating for power forecast errors.Honglu Zhu Ruyin Hou Tingting Jiang Qingquan Lv 2021Global Energy Interconnection2021,4,6:2
