1Phenotypic and genetic variation between two populations of the Chinese yellow pond turtle, Mauremys mutica (Cantor, 1842)显示文摘Mauremys mutica(Cantor,1842)is an endangered species in China.Main phenotypic variations inbody color,body weight,body shape,clutch size,egg size,and hatchling size were revealed betweenthe southern and northern populations.Both populations have the phenomenon of'larger male'sexualsize dimorphism(SSD),especially in the southern population.Furthermore,genetic variations betweenthe two populations were analyzed by RAPD band patterns of 30 random individuals in each population.The average genetic distance was 0.299±0.108 among the samples of two populations.The average ge-netic distance between southern and northern populations was 0.305±0.046.Cluster analysis indicatedthat all the individuals from the southern and northern populations were clustered among themselves toform two distinct clades.A total of 20 population-specific RAPD fragments were scored from 16 primers,and could be used as RAPD markers for distinguishing the southern and the northern population.Basedon the nucleotide sequences of two RAPD markers,two pairs of SCAR primers(SC1-S and SC2-S)weredesigned,which could be used as SCAR markers for the southern population.According to the significantphenotypic and genetic variations,we suggested that the northern population and southern populationmight be considered as two separate taxa,the'northern taxon'and the'southern taxon',and the con-servation should be respectively conducted on the two taxa.朱新平 Zhou Li Chen Yongle Du Hejun Gui Jianfang 2008High Technology Letters2008,14,1:10
2A ZnO thin-film driven microcantilever for nanoscale actuation and sensing显示文摘Zinc oxide(ZnO)thin film as a piezoelectric material for microelectromechanical system(MEMS)actuators and sensors was evaluated.ZnO thin films were deposited using radio frequency(RF)magnetron sputtering.Process parameters such as gas ratio,working pressure,and RF power were optimized for crystalline structure.The ZnO thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Good quality of ZnO thin films was further confirmed by a high transverse piezoelectric coefficient d31.A microcantilever was then designed,fabricated,and characterized.Design formulas of resonant frequency,actuation,and sensing sensitivities were derived.The resonant frequency was determined by an impedance analyzer.Tip deflection on nanometer level was demonstrated with the cantilever used as an actuator.The actuation sensitivity was found to be 12.2 nm/V.As a sensor,the cantilever was calibrated against a reference accelerometer.The sensing sensitivity was characterized to be 46 mV/g.The characterization results were compared with design specifications.The differences were caused mainly by thickness control in etching.This study showed that ZnO is a promising piezoelectric material for MEMS actuators and sensors in terms of excellent process compatibility and good piezoelectric performance.Yanhui Yuan Kun Shyong Chow Hejun Du Peihong Wang Mingsheng Zhang Shengkai Yu k Bo Liu 2013International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2013,4,2:2

19Influence of thermal treatment on electronic properties of inkjet-printed zinc oxide semiconductor显示文摘Additive manufacturing of electronic devices using inkjet printing provides a potential alternative approach in substitution for con-ventional electronic fabrication processes.However,the complex nature of inkjet printing involves the liquid deposition and film formation from the vaporization of solvent,which makes it different from film created by conventional deposition methods.Inkjet print-ing of zinc oxide(ZnO),which is a widely utilized semiconductor,produces polycrystalline film composed of nano-size grains,which could significantly influence the properties of printed film.In this study,low-temperature annealing was employed to treat inkjetprinted ZnO for UV photodetection application,and its influence on electrical properties was studied.Band bending was character-ized using the Mott-Schottky plot which examines the charge dis-tribution of the films.It is found that the annealing of inkjet-printed polycrystalline ZnO film has improved its electrical properties,which could be attributed to the reduction of band bending due to the merging of grains.The treatment also helps to reduce impurities of the film,such as zinc hydroxide complexes,which is common for solution-derived films.Hence,the study could pay the way for the improvement of electrical properties of inkjet-printed functional materials.Van-Thai Tran Yuefan Wei Hejun Du 2022International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,2:0
20Investigation of HDD Ramp Unloading Processes with an Efficient Scheme显示文摘Ramp load/unload(L/UL)mechanisms are widely used to rest sliders in hard disk drives(HDDs).Loading/unloading a slider swiftly and smoothly is crucial in a HDD design.A novel,efficient simulation scheme is proposed to investigate the behaviors of a head disk interface(HDI)in ramp unloading processes.A dual scale model is enabled by decoupling the nano-meter scale change of an air bearing and the micro-or milli-meter scale deformation of a suspension.A modified Reynolds equation governing the air bearing was solved numerically.The slider design was characterized with performance functions.Three stages in an unloading process were analyzed with a lumped parameter suspension model.Key parameters for the model were estimated with a comprehensive finite element suspension model.Finally,simulation results are presented for a commercial HDI design.Yan Liu Hejun Du 2011Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics2011,3,6:0
