1Endoscopic management of difficult common bile duct stones显示文摘Endoscopy is widely accepted as the first treatment option in the management of bile duct stones.In this review we focus on the alternative endoscopic modalities for the management of difficult common bile duct stones.Most biliary stones can be removed with an extraction balloon,extraction basket or mechanical lithotripsy after endoscopic sphincterotomy.Endoscopic papillary balloon dilation with or without endoscopic sphincterotomy or mechanical lithotripsy has been shown to be effective for management of difficult to remove bile duct stones in selected patients.Ductal clearance can be safely achieved with peroral cholangioscopy guided laser or electrohydraulic lithotripsy in most cases where other endoscopic treatment modalities have failed.Biliary stenting may be an alternative treatment option for frail and elderly patients or those with serious co morbidities.Guru Trikudanathan Udayakumar Navaneethan Mansour A Parsi 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,2:24
2Analysis on Critical Success Factors for Agile Manufacturing Evaluation in Original Equipment Manufacturing Industry-An AHP Approach显示文摘Manufacturing industries are facing challenges in the implementation of agile manufacturing in their products and processes.Agility is widely accepted as a new competitive concept in the manufacturing sector in fulfilling varying customer demand. Thus,evaluation of agile manufacturing in industries has become a necessity. The success of an organisation depends on its ability to manage finding the critical success factors and give them special and continued attention in order to bring about high performance. This paper proposes a set of critical success factors(CSFs) for evaluating agile manufacturing considered appropriate for the manufacturing sector.The analytical hierarchy process(AHP) method is applied for prioritizing the success factors, by summarizing the opinions of experts. 6WiGig and IEEE 802.11ad for Multi-Gigabyte-Per-Second WPAN and WLAN显示文摘The Wireless Gigabit Alliance (WiGig) and IEEE 802.11ad are developing a multigigabit wireless personal and local area network (WPAN/WLAN) specification in the 60 GHz millimeter wave band. Chipset manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and telecom companies are also assisting in this development. 60 GHz millimeter wave transmission will scale the speed of WLANs and WPANs to 6.75 Gbit/s over distances less than 10 meters. This technology is the first of its kind and will eliminate the need for cable around personal computers, docking stations, and other consumer electronic devices. High-definition multimedia interface (HDMI), display port, USB 3.0, and peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) 3.0 cables will all be eliminated. Fast downloads and uploads, wireless sync, and multi-gigabit-per-second WLANs will be possible over shorter distances. 60 GHz millimeter wave supports fast session transfer (FST) protocol, which makes it backward compatible with 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz WLAN so that end users experience the same range as in today's WLANs. IEEE 802.11ad specifies the physical (PHY) sublayer and medium access control (MAC) sublayer of the protocol stack. 82D organic semiconductors, the future of green nanotechnology显示文摘The discovery of 2D organic semiconductors of atomically thin structures has attracted great attention due to their emerging optical, electronic, optoelectronic and mechatronic properties. Recent progress in such organic nanostructures has opened new opportunities for engineering material properties in many ways, such as, 0D/1D/2D nanoparticles hybridization, strain engineering, atomic doping etc. Moreover, 2D organic nanostructures exhibit a unique feature of bio–functionality and are highly sensitive to bio-analytes. Such peculiar behavior in 2D organics can be utilized to design highly-efficient bio-sensors. Also, a bio-molecular integrated electronic/optoelectronic device with enhanced performance can be attained. Furthermore, the bio-degradable, biocompatible, biometabolizable, non-toxic behaviour and natural origin of organic nanomaterials can address the current ecological concerns of increasing inorganic material based electronic waste. This review highlights the benefits of 2D organic semiconductors. Considering the importance of strategic techniques for growing thin 2D organic layers,this review summarizes progress towards this direction. The possible challenges for long-time stability and future research directions in 2D organic nano electronics/optoelectronics are also discussed. 10Antibacterial potential of sponge endosymbiont marine Enterobacter sp at Kavaratti Island,Lakshadweep archipelago显示文摘Objective:To isolate antibacterial potential of sponge endosymbiotic bacteria from marine sponges at Lakshadweep archipelago.Also to identify the potent bacteria by 16s rDNA sequencing and determine the antibacterial activity against clinical pathogens by MIC.Methods: Sponge samples was collected from sub-tidal habitats at Kavaratti Island and identified.The endosymbiotic bacteria were isolated and selected potential bacteria which show antibacterial activity in preliminary screening against clinical pathogens Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus), Escherichia coli(E.coli),Salmonella typhi(S.typhi),Klebsiella pneumoniea(K.pneumoniea) and Streptococcus sp.by disc diffusion assay.The crude extracts of potential bacteria LB3 was tested against clinical pathogens by MIC.The LB3 strain was identified by 16s rDNA sequencing, 1111 bp was submitted in NCBI(HQ589912) and constructed phylogenetic tree.Results:Sponge sample was identified as Dysidea granulosa(D.granulosa) and potential bacteria LB3 identified as Enterobacter sp TTAG.Preliminary screening of sponge isolates against clinical pathogens,LB3 strain was selected as potential producer of secondary metabolites and crude extract was implies on MIC of LB3 have confirmed with lowest concentration of 5.0 mg/mL in broth medium influence of crude extract on growth inhibitory activity after 5 h of incubation period and completed the inhibitory activity at 15 h.Conclusions:The present study concluded that phylogenetic analysis of endosymbiotic bacteria Enterobacter sp from sponge D.granulosa of Lakshadweep islands showed significant antibacterial activity against clinical bacterial pathogens.Mohan Gopi Subramanian Kumaran Thipparamalai Thangappanpillai Ajith Kumar Balaraman Deivasigamani Kumarappan Alagappan Srinivasan Guru Prasad 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2012,5,2:2

12Design and development of a high-performance Ni-based superalloy WSU 150 for additive manufacturing显示文摘This research proposes a design and development strategy of a new nickel-based superalloy for additive manufacturing.A new Ni-based superalloy has been developed by the application of the combinatorial alloy development technique coupled with CALPHAD based solidification modeling by effectively suppressing the precipitation kinetics.The suppression of precipitation during processing paved a way for prevention of cracks during deposition.The new alloy 'WSU 150' revealed excellent room temperature mechanical properties with a yield strength of 867 MPa,an ultimate tensile strength of 1188 MPa,and an elongation of 27.9% in the as-deposited condition.The mechanical properties of the heat-treated alloy were improved significantly to 1114 MPa yield strength,1396 MPa ultimate tensile strength,and an elongation of 16.1%.Improvement in the mechanical properties is attributed to the additional precipitation and coarsening of γ’ and carbides during heat-treatment.Microstructural investigation of the alloy revealed spherical γ’ with a rippled size distribution from the center to the interdendritic region.The average size of the γ’ particles in the as-deposited condition was found to be around 48 nm in the interdendritic region.Heat-treatment promoted the coarsening of γ’ which is explained in the paper.Praveen Sreeramagiri Ajay Bhagavatam Abhishek Ramakrishnan Husam Alrehaili Guru Prasad Dinda 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,47,12:2
13A critique of reliability prediction techniques for avionics applications显示文摘Avionics(aeronautics and aerospace) industries must rely on components and systems of demonstrated high reliability.For this, handbook-based methods have been traditionally used to design for reliability, develop test plans, and define maintenance requirements and sustainment logistics.However, these methods have been criticized as flawed and leading to inaccurate and misleading results.In its recent report on enhancing defense system reliability, the U.S.National Academy of Sciences has recently discredited these methods, judging the Military Handbook(MILHDBK-217) and its progeny as invalid and inaccurate.This paper discusses the issues that arise with the use of handbook-based methods in commercial and military avionics applications.Alternative approaches to reliability design(and its demonstration) are also discussed, including similarity analysis, testing, physics-of-failure, and data analytics for prognostics and systems health management.Guru Prasad PANDIAN Diganta DAS Chuan LI Enrico ZIO Michael PECHT 2018Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2018,31,1:2
