| 1 | Recovering indium with sulfating roasting from copper-smelting ash显示文摘A technology for recovering indium from Jinchuan copper-smelting ash was developed. Indium in the ash was first enriched to the leaching-slag in leaching process,and then recovered by sulfating roasting. The method included mix-ing the leaching-slag with sulfuric acid,making them into particles,roasting the mixture,and then leaching the calcine with hot water. Above 90% of indium in calcine could be dissolved into the leaching solution. The optimized conditions were determined as follows: the mass ratio of sulfuric acid to leaching slag was 0.1,the roasting time was about 1 to 1.5 h in the temperature range of 200-250°C,and the calcine was leached for 1 h with 5:1 of liquid/solid ratio at 60°C. | 2 | Caustic study on blast-induced wing crack behaviors in dynamic–static superimposed stress field显示文摘This paper studies blast-induced wing crack behavior in a dynamic–static superimposed stress field using high-speed photography in combination with the optical method of caustics. With a static–dynamic loading setup, four PMMA plate specimens with pre-existing cracks under different static loading and the same dynamic loading were tested to observe the mechanical characteristics and the kinematic characteristics of blast-induced wing cracks during the propagation process, including crack length, crack velocity and dynamic stress intensity factor(SIF) at the crack tip. The results show that the behavior of the blast-induced wing crack is affected by the explosion stress wave and initial static stress, and the initial static stress with the direction being perpendicular to the wing crack propagation direction hinders crack propagation. | 5 | A Carbon Isotopic Stratigraphic Pattern of the Late Palaeozoic Coals in the North China Platform and Its Palaeoclimatic Implications显示文摘This paper gives the stable carbon isotopic data in coals from the Late Namurian to Kazanian stages inthe Serteng Mt., Xishan and Huainan coalfields of the North China Platform. Its stratigraphic pattern shows that sev-eral isotopic shifts are apparent, and the large δ13C negative shifts (approximately 2.5 to 3.0‰) occurred during theStephanian, Artinskian and Kazanian are observed in three Permo-Carboniferous coalfields. Those negative shifts areneither related to the coal rank and coal macerals, nor caused by the variety of peat-forming plants. The general de-crease in the δ13C values of the Stephanian, Artinskian and Kazanian coals is consistent with an overall decrease inthe δ13C values of ambient atmospheric CO2 and/or a relative increase in atmospheric PCO2 during the coal-forming pe-riods. | 7 | Fine mapping of the awn gene on chromosome 4 in rice by association and linkage analyses显示文摘Awnness is a key trait in rice domestication, yet no studies have been conducted on fine mapping or association mapping of the rice awn gene. In this study, we investigated the awnness and genotype of a core collection of 303 cultivated rice varieties and a BC5F2 segregating population of 200 individuals. Combining association and linkage analyses, we mapped the awnness related genes to chromosome 4. Primary association analysis using 24 SSR markers revealed five loci significantly associated with awnness on chromosome 4. The associated markers cover previously identified regions. Fine association mapping was conducted using another 29 markers within a 4-Mb region, covering the associated marker in34, which is close to the awn gene Awn4.1. Seven associated markers were revealed, distributed over an 870-kb region. Combining the fine association mapping and linkage analysis of awnness in the 200 BC5F2 segregating population, we finally identified a 330-kb region as the candidate region for Awn4.1. | 8 | ATP-binding cassette transporter enhances tolerance to DDT in Tetrahymena显示文摘The reuse of dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane(DDT) as an indoor residual spray was permitted by the World Health Organization in 2007, and approximately 14 countries still use DDT to control disease vectors. The extensive exposure of insects to DDT has resulted in the emergence of DDT resistance, especially in mosquitoes, and the mechanism for this resistance in mosquitoes has been widely reported. Spraying can also introduce DDT directly into surface water, and DDT can subsequently accumulate in microorganisms, but the mechanism for the resistance to DDT degradation in microorganisms is unclear. Using whole-genome microarray analysis, we detected an abcb15 gene that was up-regulated in a specific manner by DDT treatment in T. thermophile. The deduced ABCB15 peptide sequence had two transmembrane domains(TMDs) and two nucleotide-binding domains(NBDs) to form the structure TMD-NBD-TMD-NBD, and each NBD contained three conserved motifs: Walker-A, C-loop, and Walker-B, which indicated the T. thermophila abcb15 was a typical ABC transporter gene. The expression of ABCB15 fused with a C-terminal green fluorescent protein was found to be on the periphery of the cell, suggesting that ABCB15 was a membrane pump protein. In addition, cells with abcb15 partially knocked down(abcb15-KD) grew slower than wild-type cells in the presence of 256 mg L-1 DDT, indicating the tolerance of abcb15-KD strain to DDT exposure was decreased. | 9 | In tegrative iTRAQ-based proteomic and transcriptomic analysis reveals the accumulation patter ns of key metabolites associated with oil quality during seed ripening of Camellia oleifera显示文摘Camellia oleifera(C.oleifera)is one of the four major woody oil-bearing crops in the world and has relatively high ecological,economic,and medicinal value.Its seeds undergo a series of complex physiological and biochemical changes during ripening,which is mainly manifested as the accumulation and transformation of certain metabolites closely related to oil quality,especially flavonoids and fatty acids.To obtain new insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms,a parallel analysis of the transcriptome and proteome profiles of C.oleifera seeds at different maturity levels was conducted using RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification(iTRAQ)complemented with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)data.A total of 16,530 transcripts and 1228 proteins were recognized with significant differential abundances in pairwise comparisons of samples at various developmental stages.Among these,317 were coexpressed with a poor correlation,and most were involved in metabolic processes,including fatty acid metabolism,a-linolenic acid metabolism,and glutathione metabolism.In addition,the content of total flavonoids decreased gradually with seed maturity,and the levels of fatty acids generally peaked at the fat accumulation stage;these results basically agreed with the regulation patterns of genes or proteins in the corresponding pathways.The expression levels of proteins annotated as upstream candidates of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase(PAL)and chalcone synthase(CHS)as well as their cognate transcripts were positively correlated with the variation in the flavonoid content,while shikimate O-hydroxycinnamoyltransferase(HCT)-(encoding genes had the opposite pattern.The increase in the abundance of proteins and mRNAs corresponding to alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH)was associated with a reduction in linoleic acid synthesis.Using weighted gene coexpression network analysis(WGCNA),we further identi fied six unique modules related to flavonoid,oil,and fatty acid anabolism that contained hub genes or proteins similar to transcription factors(TFs),such as MADS intervening keratin-like and C-terminal(MIKC_MAD s),type-B authentic response regulator(ARR-B),and basic helix-loop-helix(bH〔H).Finally,based on the known metabolic pathways and WGCNA combined with the correlation analysis,fi ve coexpressed transcripts and proteins composed of cinnamyl-alcohol dehyd rogenases(CADs),caffeicacid 3-O-methyltransferase(COMT),fl avonol synthase(FLS),and 4-coumarate:CoA ligaas(4CL)were screened out.With this exploratory multiomics dataset,our results presented a dynamic picture regarding the maturation process of C.oleifera seeds on Hainan Island,not only revealing the temporal specific expression of key candidate genes and proteins but also providing a scientific basis for the genetic improvement of this tree species. | Zhouchen Ye Jing Yu Wuping Yan Junfeng Zhang Dongmei Yang Guanglong Yao Zijin Liu Yougen Wu Xilin Hou | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 3 |

| 14 | State of art control of dioxins/unintentional POPs in the secondary copper industry: A review to assist policy making with the implementation of the Stockholm Convention显示文摘Article 5 of the Stockholm Convention requires that each Party shall take measures to reduce the releases from anthropogenic sources of unintentional persistent organic pollutants(UPOPs),with the goal of their continuing minimization and,where feasible,their ultimate elimination.A major source of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs)and other unintentional POPs releases,both in China and worldwide,is the metal industry in particular secondary metal industries such as copper smelting.More than 50%of the global secondary copper production is now in China and high levels of PCDD/Fs are released from these operations with the national inventory of China reporting a total of 1133.8 g toxic equivalents(TEQ)yr1.Consequently the Global Environment Facility(GEF)is supporting the project‘UPOPs Reduction through best available techniques and best environmental practices(BAT/BEP)in the secondary copper production sector’in China compromising>50%of the global secondary copper production.As part of this project,information on relevant UPOPs from the metal industry have been reviewed and is presented here.This information should also be useful for other(developing)countries for controlling UPOPs releases from metal industries.This review and the information it contains provides a robust resource for policy makers,the industry and researchers to improve secondary copper production to BAT/BEP standards in relation to the reduction of PCDD/Fs and other UPOPs release.The contents include the details required to assist the understanding of the formation of chlorinated UPOPs along with their brominated and brominated-chlorinated analogues.It reviews the international sources of information on BAT/BEP,including the integrated approach considered in the European BAT Reference document,and shows how this can be used to achieve an overall reduction of pollutant releases from the industry.The current national standards of PCDD/F limits to air,water and solid residues have been compiled and are also included.Challenges which need to be addressed,such as the current international lack to consider brominated and mixed bromo-chloro PXDD/Fs which might be more environmentally significant than PCDD/Fs in some facilities e are also discussed.The study includes a brief description of the steps China has taken to change the national regulatory framework and to improve the sustainability of its secondary metal industry.The Stockholm Convention BAT/BEP guidelines recommend consideration of integrated pollution prevention and control and sustainable production as general principles which parties may incorporate when applying the BAT/BEP guidelines and guidance.This holistic approach is considered in the current project and in the improvement of the pilot facilities and will also be considered in the replication of experiences in other facilities.Using this approach ensures the implementation of the Stockholm Convention can contribute to integrated pollution prevention and control,the development of a circular economy and consequently to genuinely sustainable development thus contributing to different sustainable development goals(SDGs).It is hoped this approach will be adopted in other developing and transition economies and thus help to achieve improvements of the secondary metal industry globally. | Guanglong Wu Roland Weber Yong Ren Zheng Peng Alan Watson Jiahong Xie | 2020 | Emerging Contaminants2020,6,1: | 2 |

| 16 | Incorporating topographic factors in nonlinear mixed-effects models for aboveground biomass of natural Simao pine in Yunnan,China显示文摘A total of 128 Simao pine trees(Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis) from three regions of Pu'er City,Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China, were destructively sampled to obtain tree aboveground biomass(AGB). Tree variables such as diameter at breast height and total height, and topographical factors such as altitude,aspect of slope, and degree of slope were recorded. We considered the region and site quality classes as the random-effects, and the topographic variables as the fixedeffects. We fitted a total of eight models as follows: leastsquares nonlinear models(BM), least-squares nonlinear models with the topographic factors(BMT), nonlinear mixed-effects models with region as single random-effects(NLME-RE), nonlinear mixed-effects models with site as single random-effects(NLME-SE), nonlinear mixed-effects models with the two-level nested region and site random-effects(TLNLME), NLME-RE with the fixed-effects of topographic factors(NLMET-RE), NLME-SE with the fixed-effects of topographic factors(NLMET-SE), and TLNLME with the fixed-effects of topographic factors(TLNLMET). The eight models were compared by modelfitting and prediction statistics. The results showed: model fitting was improved by considering random-effects of region or site, or both. The models with the fixed-effects of topographic factors had better model fitting. According to AIC and BIC, the model fitting was ranked as TLNLME[ NLMET-RE [ NLME-RE [ NLMET-SE [ TLNLMET[ NLME-SE [ BMT [ BM. The differences among these models for model prediction were small. The model prediction was ranked as TLNLME [ NLME-RE [ NLMES E [ N L M E T- R E [ N L M E T- S E [ T L N L M E T [BMT [ BM. However, all eight models had relatively high prediction precision([90 %).
