| 2 | Horizontal-Based Orchestration for Multi-Domain SFC in SDN/NFV-Enabled Satellite/Terrestrial Networks显示文摘It's promising to use Software-Defined Networking(SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization(NFV) to integrate satellite and terrestrial networks. To construct network service function chains in such a multi-domain environment, we propose a horizontal-based Multi-domain Service Function Chaining(Md-SFC) orchestration framework. In this framework, multi-domain orchestrators can coordinate with each other to guarantee the end-to-end service quality. Intra-domain orchestrators also coordinate SDN controllers and NFV management components to implement intra-domain service function chains. Based on this, we further propose a heuristic SFC mapping algorithm with a cooperative inter-domain path calculation method to map service function chains to infrastructures. In this method, master multi-domain orchestrator and intra-domain orchestrators coordinate to select proper inter-domain links. We compare the cooperative method with a naive uncooperative way that domains' topology information is provided to the master multi-domain orchestrator and it calculates the shortest inter-domain path between intra-domain service function chains directly. Simulation results demonstrate that our solution is feasible. It is able to construct end-to-end performance guaranteed service function chain by horizontal-based cooperation. | 5 | Gene editing and its applications in biomedicine显示文摘The steady progress in genome editing, especially genome editing based on the use of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR) and programmable nucleases to make precise modifications to genetic material, has provided enormous opportunities to advance biomedical research and promote human health. The application of these technologies in basic biomedical research has yielded significant advances in identifying and studying key molecular targets relevant to human diseases and their treatment. The clinical translation of genome editing techniques offers unprecedented biomedical engineering capabilities in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease or disability. Here, we provide a general summary of emerging biomedical applications of genome editing, including open challenges. | 6 | Cadmium pollution enhanced ozone damage to winter wheat:biochemical and physiological evidences显示文摘Combined effects of ozone (O3) and cadmium (Cd) on growth and physiology of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.cv.JM22) were determined.Wheat plants were grown without or with Cd and exposed to charcoal-filtered air (< 10 ppb O3) or elevated O 3 (80 ± 5 ppb,7 hr/day) for 20 days.Results showed that O 3 considerably depressed light saturated net photosynthetic rate (-20%),stomatal conductance (-33%),chlorophyll content (-33%),and total biomass (-29%) without Cd.The corresponding decreases were further enhanced by 45%,56%,60% and 59%,respectively with Cd,indicating a synergistic effect of O3 and Cd on wheat.Ozone significantly increased the activity of superoxide dismutase (46%),catalase (48%) and peroxidase (56%).However,great increases in malondialdehyde (MDA) content (2.55 folds) and intercellular CO2 concentration (1.13 folds) were noted in O3 +Cd treatment compared to control.Our findings demonstrated that the increased anti-oxidative activities in wheat plants exposed to O3 +Cd might not be enough to overcome the adverse effects of the combination of both pollutants as evidenced by further increase in MDA content,which is an important indicator of lipid peroxidation.Precise prediction model on O3 damages to crop should be conducted to ensure agricultural production security by considering environmental constraints in an agricultural system in peri-urban regions. | Yong Li Caihong Li Yanhai Zheng Guanglei Wu Tana Wuyun Hong Xu Xinhua He Gaoming Jiang | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2: | 7 |

| 14 | Generation of isogenic single and multiplex gene knockout mice by base editing-induced STOP显示文摘Although CRISPR/Cas9 has been widely used to generate knockout mice, two major limitations remain:the founders usually carry a mixture of genotypes, and mosaicism harboring multiple genotypes.Therefore, it takes a long time to get homozygous mutants. Recently developed base editing(BE) system,which introduces C-to-T conversion without double strand DNA cleavage, has been used to introduce artificial stop codons(i-STOP) to prematurely terminate translation, providing a cleaner strategy for genome engineering. Using this strategy, we generated CD160 KO and VISTA/CD160 double KO mice by microinjection of a single sg RNA targeting CD160 and a mixture of sg RNAs targeting VISTA and CD160,respectively. The BE system induced STOP efficiently in mouse embryos and consequently in founder mice without detectable off-target. Most interestingly, the majority of the mutants harbor same genetic modifications, indicating we generated isogenic single and multiplex gene mutant mice by BE-induced STOP. | 15 | Microstructure evolution and mechanical behavior of Ni-based single crystal superalloy joint brazed with mixed powder at elevated temperature显示文摘Brazing of a Ni-based single crystal superalloy has been investigated with the additive Ni-based superalloy and filler Ni–Cr–W–B alloy at 1260℃, and attentions were paid to the microstructure evolution during brazing and the stress-rupture behavior at 980℃ of such brazed joints after homogenization. Microstructure in the brazed joint generally includes brazing alloy zone(BAZ), isothermally solidified zone(ISZ) and diffusion affected zone(DAZ). Microstructure evolution during this brazing process is discussed at the heating stage, the holding stage and the cooling stage respectively, according to the diffusion path of B atoms. Initially well-distributed γ’/γ’ microstructure in the homogenized bonded zone after heat treatment and substantial γ’ rafts enhance the post-brazed joint to obtain a stress-rupture lifetime of more than 120 h at 980℃/250 MPa. On the other hand, the decreased stress-rupture behavior of post-brazed joint, compared with parenting material, is ascribed to the presence of inside brazing porosity and stray grain boundary, which not only reduces the effective loading-carrying area but also offers preferential sites for creep vacancy aggregation to further soften stray grain boundary. | 18 | Oral administration of dibutyryl adenosine cyclophosphate improved growth performance in weaning piglets by enhancing lipid fatty acids metabolism显示文摘Dibutyryl adenosine cyclophosphate(dbc AMP-Ca), an analog of cyclic adenosine monophosphate(c AMP), plays greater roles in regulating physiological activities and energy metabolism than c AMP. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of oral administration of dbc AMP-Ca on growth performance and fatty acids metabolism in weaning piglets. A total of 14 early weaning piglets(7 ± 1 d of age,3.31 ± 0.09 kg, Landrace ? Large White ? Duroc) were randomly divided into 2 groups: control group and dbc AMP-Ca group, and the piglets received 7 m L of 0.9% Na Cl or 1.5 mg dbc AMP-Ca dissolved in 7 m L of 0.9% Na Cl per day for 10 d, respectively. The results showed that the average daily gain(ADG)increased by 109.17%(P < 0.05) in the dbc AMP-Ca group compared with the control group. Besides,dbc AMP-Ca significantly decreased blood high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDLC) concentration(P < 0.05) and significantly increased blood low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDLC) concentration(P < 0.05) compared with the control group. Further, liver C18:2 n6 t content significantly increased in dbc AMP-Ca group(P < 0.05) compared with the control group. With the increase of C18:2 n6 t content,the m RNA expression levels of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor a(PPARa) and hormone sensitive glycerol three lipase(HSL), of which genes are related to lipid metabolism, were also significantly increased(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).
