| 2 | Improvement of the chirality near avoided resonance crossing in optical microcavity显示文摘Chirality is one of the important phenomena at the vicinity of exceptional point(EP). The conventional understanding is that the chirality is determined by asymmetrical scattering efficiency(?), which reaches to zero only when the resonance approaches EP. Here we study the possibility to enhance the chirality in open systems with a more robust mechanism. By combining chirality with avoided resonance crossing, we show that the chirality and ? can be dramatically modified. Taking a spiral shaped annular cavity as an example, we show that the chirality of optical resonances can be significantly improved when two sets of chiral states approach each other. The imbalance between counterclockwise(CCW) components and clockwise(CW) components has been enhanced by more than an order of magnitude. | 5 | Suggestion on further strengthening ultra-low emission standards for PM emission from coal-fired power plants in China显示文摘China has established the largest clean coal-fired power generation system in the world by accomplishing the technological transformation of coal-fired power plants(CFPPs)to achieve ultra-low emission.The potential for further particulate matter(PM)emission reduction to achieve near-zero emission for CFPPs has become a hotspot issue.In this study,PM emission from some ultra-low emission CFPPs adopting advanced air pollutant control technologies in China was reviewed.The results revealed that the average filterable particulate matter(FPM)concentration,measured as the total particulate matter(TPM)according to the current national monitoring standard,was(1.67±0.86)mg/m^(3),which could fully achieve the ultra-low emission standard for key regions(5 mg/m^(3)),but that achieving the near-zero emission standard was difficult(1 mg/m^(3)).However,the condensable particulate matter(CPM),with an average concentration of(1.06±1.28)mg/m^(3),was generally ignored during monitoring,which led to about 38.7%underestimation of the TPM.Even considering both FPM and CPM,the TPM emission from current CFPPs would contribute to less than 5%of atmospheric PM_(2.5) concentrations in the key cities and regions in China.Therefore,further reduction in FPM emission proposed by the near-zero emission plan of CFPPs may have less environmental benefit than emission control of other anthropogenic sources.However,it is suggested that the management of CPM emission should be strengthened,and a national standard for CPM emission monitoring based on the indirect dilution method should be established for CFPPs.Those measurements are helpful for optimal operation of air pollutant control devices and continuously promoting further emission reduction. | Jianguo Deng Shumin Wang Jiawei Zhang Yi Zhang Jingkun Jiang Yongzheng Gu Tao Han Lei Feng Jian Gao Lei Duan | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,1: | 1 |
| 6 | Construction of a high-density mutant population of Chinese cabbage facilitates the genetic dissection of agronomic traits显示文摘Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa ssp.pekinensis)is an economically important vegetable crop throughout the world,especially in Asia.High-quality genome sequences are available for Chinese cabbage,but gene functional studies remain challenging.To promote functional genomic studies of Chinese cabbage,we generated an ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS)mutant population of~8000 M_(2) plants using the double haploid inbred line A03 as the parent.The genome of A03 was sequenced and used as a reference for high-throughput functional characterization of gene mutations at the whole-genome level.A total of 300 M_(2) to M_(5) EMS mutants were phenotypically screened and then sequenced,revealing 750629 SNPs and 46272 InDel mutations that cover 98.27%of all predicted genes in the A03 genome.A forward-genetics approach was successfully used to identify two genes with chloroplast-related functions that are responsible for the yellow leaf mutant trait.A reverse-genetics approach was also used to identify associations between mutations in five genes of the glucosinolate biosynthetic pathway and variations in glucosinolate content of the mutant plants.In addition,we built the Chinese cabbage EMS mutation database(CCEMD,www.bioinformaticslab.cn/EMSmutation/home)to increase the usability of this mutant population resource.In summary,we performed large-scale screening of a heading Chinese cabbage EMS mutant collection at the phenotypic and genotypic levels,which will facilitate gene mining of Chinese cabbage and might also be useful for the study of other Brassica crops. | Xiaoxue Sun Xing Li Yin Lu Shan Wang Xiaomeng Zhang Kang Zhang Xiangjie Su Mengyang Liu Daling Feng Shuangxia Luo Aixia Gu Yu Fu Xueping Chen Shuxin Xuan Yanhua Wang Donghui Xu Shumin Chen Wei Ma Shuxing Shen Feng Cheng Jianjun Zhao | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,5: | 1 |
| 7 | Open and close-ended CoMoS_(3) nanotubes for hydrogen evolution in acidic and basic conditions显示文摘Electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is a promising route to harvest high-purity hydrogen(H_(2)).Efficient and selective energy transformations rely on the development of novel catalytic materials in terms of compositions and structures that survive under harsh conditions.This study focuses on a unique nanostructured CoMoS_(3) catalyst for HER under strong acidic and basic electrolyte.The morphologies of the catalysts are fine-tuned by altering reaction times in a hydrothermal reaction.Limited reaction time generates twisted thin-sheet CoMoS_(3)(12 h),which spins into a nanotube with an extended synthetic time(16 h).As the reaction time increases to 20 h,the CoMoS_(3) composite creates open-ended nanotubes,facilitating reactants to penetrate and react actively in the inner space of the nanotubes.Further,prolonged reaction time(24 h) results in the formation of the close-ended CoMoS_(3) nanotubes.We find out that the open-ended structure plays an important role in achieving fast kinetics as well as creating more active sites in HER reaction.The catalyst delivers a profound performance under both acidic and basic conditions,with overpotentials of 93 mV and 115 mV(at a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2)) in the acidic and basic electrolytes,respectively.Moreover,it shows superior long-term durability in both solutions.This work will provide a great foundation for understanding the morphology effect with the same composited catalyst towards energy conversion reactions,not limited to HER. | Yuan Li Xuewei Hou Jing Gu Veronika Mikhaylova Kangli Chen Hongming Zhang Shumin Han | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,6: | 0 |
