| 1 | Mineralogy and carbothermal reduction behaviour of vanadium-bearing titaniferous magnetite ore in Eastern India显示文摘Vanadium-bearing titaniferous magnetite bands hosted by Precambrian gabbro-norite-anorthositic rocks or their metamorphic equivalents were discovered in some parts of Eastern Indian Shield,containing 48%-49%Fe(total),10%-25%TiO2,and 0.3%-2.20%V2O5by mass.Mineralogical and petrological study,composition,and characterization of the vanadium-bearing titaniferous magnetite ore were carried out by scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray(SEM-EDX),wave length X-ray florescence(WDXRF),inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES),X-ray difraction(XRD),etc.Chemical beneficiation for valuable metals,such as Fe,Ti,and V,was performed by reduction roasting.The direct and indirect reduction were investigated by mixing the lump ore with solid activated charcoal in a closed reactor and purging the reducing gas mixture in standard reducibility index apparatus at diferent temperatures and time intervals.The reduction roasting parameters were optimized.Finally,the reduced samples were crushed and upgraded by magnetic separation.The results show that,the maximum mass fractions of magnetic and nonmagnetic parts achieved are 69.36%and 30.64%,respectively,which contain 10.6%TiO2and 0.84%V2O5in the magnetic part and 36.5%TiO2and 0.22%V2O5in the nonmagnetic part. | Saikat Samanta Manik Chandra Goswami Tapan Kumar Baidya Siddhartha Mukherjee Rajib Dey | 2013 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2013,20,10: | 9 |
| 2 | Type I interferons promote the survival and proinflammatory properties of transitional B cells in systemic lupus erythematosus patients显示文摘A hallmark of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is the breaking of B-cell tolerance with the generation of high-affinity autoantibodies;however,the antibody-independent features of the B-cell compartment in SLE are less understood.In this study,we performed an extensive examination of B-cell subsets and their proinflammatory properties in a Chinese cohort of new-onset SLE patients.We observed that SLE patients exhibited an increased frequency of transitional B cells compared with healthy donors and rheumatoid arthritis patients.Plasma from SLE patients potently promoted the survival of transitional B cells in a type I IFN-dependent manner,which can be recapitulated by direct IFN-αtreatment.Furthermore,the effect of IFN-αon enhanced survival of transitional B cells was associated with NF-κB pathway activation and reduced expression of the pro-apoptotic molecule Bax.Transitional B cells from SLE patients harbored a higher capacity to produce proinflammatory cytokine IL-6,which was also linked to the overactivated type I IFN pathway.In addition,the frequency of IL-6-producing transitional B cells was positively correlated with disease activity in SLE patients,and these cells were significantly reduced after short-term standard therapies.Thus,the current study provides a direct link between type I IFN pathway overactivation and the abnormally high frequency and proinflammatory properties of transitional B cells in active SLE patients,which contributes to the understanding of the roles of type I IFNs and B cells in the pathogenesis of SLE. | Mei Liu Qiang Guo Chunmei Wu Delphine Sterlin Shyamal Goswami Ying Zhang Teng Li Chunde Bao Nan Shen Qiong Fu Xiaoming Zhang | 2019 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,4: | 9 |
| 3 | Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria--alleviators of abiotic stresses in soil: A review显示文摘With the continuous increase in human population,there is widespread usage of chemical fertilizers that are responsible for introducing abiotic stresses in agricultural crop lands.Abiotic stresses are major constraints for crop yield and global food security and therefore require an immediate response.The implementation of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)into the agricultural production system can be a profitable alternative because of its efficiency in plant growth regulation and abiotic stress management.These bacteria have the potential to promote plant growth and to aid in the management of plant diseases and abiotic stresses in the soil through production of bacterial phytohormones and associated metabolites as well as through significant root morphological changes.These changes result in improved plant-water relations and nutritional status in plants and stimulate plants’defensive mechanisms to overcome unfavorable environmental conditions.Here,we describe the significance of plant-microbe interactions,highlighting the role of PGPR,bacterial phytohormones,and bacterial metabolites in relieving abiotic environmental stress in soil.Further research is necessary to gather in-depth knowledge on PGPR-associated mechanisms and plant-microbe interactions in order to pave a way for field-scale application of beneficial rhizobacteria,with the aim of building a healthy and sustainable agricultural system.Therefore,this review aims to emphasize the role of PGPR in growth promotion and management of abiotic soil stress with the goal of developing an eco-friendly and cost-effective strategy for future agricultural sustainability. | Madhurankhi GOSWAMI Suresh DEKA | 2020 | Pedosphere2020,30,1: | 6 |

| 6 | Effect of nitrogen doping on structural and optical properties of ZnO nanoparticles显示文摘Infl uence of nitrogen doping on structural and optical properties of ZnO nanoparticles has been studied. Undoped and N doped ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized via chemical precipitation approach. The prepared samples were characterized through X-ray diffraction(XRD),Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) equipped with Energy dispersive X-ray(EDAX) spectroscopy, UV–visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy and micro-Raman spectroscopy(m RS). Wurtzite phase of undoped as well as 0.5–10% N doped ZnO nanoparticles was con fi rmed through characteristic XRD patterns. The particle size expansion due to N incorporation in ZnO was further revealed by TEM and EDAX analysis where 11 nm size undoped and 18–22 nm size 0.5–10% N doped ZnO(N:ZnO) nanoparticles without any impurity were ascertained. Slight blue-shift in band gap energy, as observed in our case, symbolized weak quantum con fi nement of the prepared nanoparticles. The alterations in vibrational modes of ZnO due to N incorporation, remarkably H substituting at O site and subsequently causing the passivation in N:ZnO nanoparticles, were detected through FTIR analysis. | 13 | Behavior of fluxed lime iron oxide pellets in hot metal bath during melting and refining显示文摘Lump lime as a flux material in a basic oxygen furnace (BOF) often creates problems in operation due to its high melting point, poor dissolution property, hygroscopic nature, and fines generation tendency. To alleviate these problems, fluxed lime iron oxide pellets (FLIP) containing 30% CaO were developed in this study using waste iron oxide fines and lime. The suitable handling strengths of the pellet (crushing strength: 300N; drop strength: 130 times) of FLIP were developed by treating with CO2 or industrial waste gas at room temperature, while no separate binders were used. When the pellet was added into hot metal bath (carbon-containing molten iron), it was decomposed, melted, and transformed to produce low melting oxidizing slag, because it is a combination of main CaO and Fe2O3 . This slag is suitable for facilitating P and C removal in refining. Furthermore, the pellet enhances waste utilization and use of CO2 in waste gas. In this article, emphasis is given on studying the behavior of these pellets in hot metal bath during melting and refining along with thermodynamics and kinetics analysis.
