| 3 | Comparative Analysis of Wavelet Transform for Time-Frequency Analysis and Transient Localization in Structural Health Monitoring显示文摘A critical problem facing data collection in structural health monitoring,for instance via sensor networks,is how to extract the main components and useful features for damage detection.A structural dynamic measurement is more often a complex time-varying process and therefore,is prone to dynamic changes in time-frequency contents.To extract the signal components and capture the useful features associated with damage from such nonstationary signals,a technique that combines the time and frequency analysis and shows the signal evolution in both time and frequency is required.Wavelet analyses have proven to be a viable and effective tool in this regard.Wavelet transform(WT)can analyze different signal components and then comparing the characteristics of each signal with a resolution matched to its scale.However,the challenge is the selection of a proper wavelet since various wavelets with varied properties that are to analyze the same data may result in different results.This article presents a study on how to carry out a comparative analysis based on analytic wavelet scalograms,using structural dynamic acceleration responses,to evaluate the effectiveness of various wavelets for damage detection in civil structures.The scalogram’s informative time-frequency regions are examined to analyze the variation of wavelet coefficients and show how the frequency content of a signal changes over time to detect transient events due to damage.Subsequently,damage-induced changes are tracked with time-frequency representations.Towards this aim,energy distribution and sharing information are investigated.The undamaged and damaged simulated comparative results of a structure reveal that the damaged structure were shifted from the undamaged structure.Also,the Bump wavelet shows the best results than the others. | Ahmed Silik Mohammad Noori Wael A.Altabey Ramin Ghiasi Zhishen Wu | 2021 | Structural Durability & Health Monitoring2021，15，1： | 4 |
| 4 | Prediction of blast boulders in open pit mines via multiple regression and artificial neural networks显示文摘The most important objective of blasting in open pit mines is rock fragmentation.Prediction of produced boulders(oversized crushed rocks) is a key parameter in designing blast patterns.In this study,the amount of boulder produced in blasting operations of Golegohar iron ore open pit mine,Iran was predicted via multiple regression method and artificial neural networks.Results of 33 blasts in the mine were collected for modeling.Input variables were:joints spacing,density and uniaxial compressive strength of the intact rock,burden,spacing,stemming,bench height to burden ratio,and specific charge.The dependent variable was ratio of boulder volume to pattern volume.Both techniques were successful in predicting the ratio.In this study,the multiple regression method was superior with coefficient of determination and root mean squared error values of 0.89 and 0.19,respectively. | Ghiasi Majid Askarnejad Nematollah Dindarloo Saeid R. | 7 | Effect of soil cohesion and friction angles on reverse faults显示文摘Severe faults have caused many earthquakes around the world throughout history.More recently,earthquakes have occurred in Taiwan,China(Chi-Chi fault),and elsewhere,causing loss of lives and destroying many buildings and structures.These tectonic movements have gained attention from engineers,and in the past 15 years,the focus has been on faulting mechanisms.In this study,a physical model(1 g)was fabricated and used to evaluate the impact of a reverse fault in a field with a tunnel.In the 1 g model,researchers installed additional gauges on the tunnel,so that all the displacements could be adjusted,and all the responses could be monitored during faulting.An experimental study of various soil properties(cohesion and friction angles)in reverse faults on the tunnel lining were carried out and are described herein.A comparison of results for different levels of soil cohesion revealed that it can dramatically reduce the displacement by as much as 40%,and that friction angles of 27ºcan record approximately 60%more displacements than at 37º.Furthermore,a comparison of fault angles of 30ºand 60ºindicates that the displacements can be different by more than 43%in cohesionless soil and about 64%for a friction angle of 27º. | Mehdi Ghafari Haslinda Nahazanan Zainuddin Md Yusoff Vahed Ghiasi | 2021 | Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2021，20，2： | 2 |

| 10 | Crimean—Congo hemorrhagic fever:a molecular survey on hard ticks(Ixodidae) in Yazd province,Iran显示文摘Objective:To determine the rate of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus(CCHFV) infection in hard ticks(Ixodidae) in Yazd province of Iran.Methods:A molecular survey on hard ticks (Ixodidae) was conducted in Yazd province during 2008 -2009.A total of 140 hard ticks(three genera and 7 species) were collected from randomly selected villages and were exanimate for presence of CCHFV reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) method.Results: CCHFV genome was found in 5.71%of hard ticks.All positive ticks were from Hyalomma genus. Positive ticks including:Hyalomma dromedarii,Hyalomma marginatum,Hyalomma anatolicum, Hyalomma detritum,Hyalomma asiaticum.We were not able to find virus in in Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Dermacentor marginatus.Results exhibited that Hyalomma is the main vector in the study area.Conclusions:Due to the presence of virus in 24 provinces’ out of 31,we recommend the use of acaricides and repellent to prevent disease transmission among humans.
