| 1 | Interface structure prediction via CALYPSO method显示文摘The atomistic structures of solid–solid interfaces are of fundamental interests for understanding physical properties of interfacial materials. However, determination of interface structures faces a substantial challenge, both experimentally and theoretically. Here, we propose an efficient method for predicting interface structures via the generalization of our in-house developed CALYPSO method for structure prediction. We devised a lattice match toolkit that allows us to automatically search for the optimal latticematched superlattice for construction of the interface structures. In addition, bonding constraints(e.g.,constraints on interatomic distances and coordination numbers of atoms) are imposed to generate better starting interface structures by taking advantages of the known bonding environment derived from the stable bulk phases. The interface structures evolve by following interfacially confined swarm intelligence algorithm, which is known to be efficient for exploration of potential energy surface. The method was validated by correctly predicting a number of known interface structures with only given information of two parent solids. The application of the developed method leads to prediction of two unknown grain boundary(GB) structures(r-GB and p-GB) of rutile TiO_2 ∑5(2 1 0) under an O reducing atmosphere that contained Ti^(3+)as the result of O defects. Further calculations revealed that the intrinsic band gap of p-GB is reduced to 0.7 eV owing to substantial broadening of the Ti-3 d interfacial levels from Ti^(3+)centers.Our results demonstrated that introduction of grain boundaries is an effective strategy to engineer the electronic properties and thus enhance the visible-light photoactivity of TiO_2. | Bo Gao Pengyue Gao Shaohua Lu Jian Lv Yanchao Wang Yanming Ma | 2019 | Science Bulletin2019,64,5: | 4 |
| 2 | Risk assessment model for endpoints of ischemic stroke: A study protocol for a registry study显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the risk of ischemic stroke endpoints by establishing risk assessment models that combine Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and modern medicine indicators.METHODS/DESIGN: The proposed study is a registry-based participant survey conducted in seven hospitals nationwide in China. After obtaining informed consent, 3000 patients diagnosed with ischemic stroke will be recruited. One-year follow-ups will be performed on-site in hospitals and by telephone to track endpoint events. Comparative analysis of the prevalence of endpoint events and other TCM or modern medicine features in different groups will be conducted using frequency analysis and χ2tests, and the results will be expressed as composition ratios. Comparative analysis of quantitative scores and related patterns or symptoms will be conducted using a rank-sum test. Correlation analysis of endpoint events and TCM or modern medicine factors will be performed using a multivariate Cox proportional hazard model.DISCUSSION: Previous reports have described modern medicine indicator-based risk assessment models for ischemic stroke endpoint events, but no such studies have included TCM features. | 3 | Roles of MicroRNAs in Plant Stress Tolerance显示文摘MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are one kind of small RNA in all eukaryote. MicroRNAs can regulate gene expression of eukaryote; they widely participate in every physiological process. They can block mRNA expression or cleave mRNA by complement to target mRNA. Scholars estimate miRNA genes occuping about 1% of genome, but they can regulate 10%-30% genes of whole genome. The genes are regulated by miRNA including signal proteins, enzymes, transcription factors, and so on. In the field of plant research, the start of miRNA research is later, but it is proved that plant miRNAs are important to every plant physiological process. Now miRNA has become the hotspot of plant molecular biology research. This paper introduced the biology function, action mechanism, researching method and recently development of microRNAs, also focused on advances in plant microRNAs. | 6 | Corrosion behavior of Q235B carbon steel in simulated seawater pumped storage system under operational conditions显示文摘Seawater pumped storage systems have bright prospect for energy storage in the coming years.The operational conditions of seawater pumped storage system are complex and harsh,where metal materials suff er from severe general and local corrosion.The corrosion behavior of Q235B carbon steel in simulated seawater pumped storage system under operational conditions was studied by potentiodynamic polarization,cyclic potentiodynamic polarization,and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results confi rm that the working pressure aff ected the corrosion resistance of Q235B carbon steel during the whole immersion period.The pressure promoted the electrochemical reaction of corrosion process and the corrosion rate increased with pressure at the initial immersion period.However,the stable rust layer formed after longtime immersion at diff erent pressures increased the corrosion resistance of carbon steel,and decreased the corrosion degree of carbon steel.Meanwhile,the working pressure aff ected the pitting corrosion behavior of Q235B carbon steel during the whole immersion period.The pitting corrosion potential was more negative and the tendency of pitting corrosion was higher at 4 MPa during the whole immersion period.However,pressure also accelerated the formation rate of protective rust layer on the steel surface.Q235B carbon steel has higher susceptibility to pitting corrosion at 4 MPa in the static seawater. | YANG Dan HUANG Yanliang LI Jianqiu GAO Yanming ZHAO Xia XU Weichen | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,5: | 2 |

| 11 | Benthic nutrient fluxes in the intertidal flat within the Changjiang (Yangtze River) Estuary显示文摘In an annual cycle from March 2005 to February 2006, benthic nutrient fluxes were measured monthly in the Dongtan intertidal flat within the Changjiang (Yangtze River) Estuary. Except for NH4+, there always showed high fluxes from overlying water into sediment for other four nutrients. Sediments in the high and middle marshes, covered with halophyte and consisting of macrofauna, demonstrated more capabilities of assimilating nutrients from overlying water than the low marsh. Sampling seasons and nutrient concentrations in the overlying water could both exert significant effects on these fluxes. Additionally, according to the model provided by previous study, denitrifica- tion rates, that utilizing NO3- transported from overlying water (DW) in Dongtan sediments, were estimated to be from -16 to 193 μmol·h-1·m-2 with an average value of 63 μmol·h-1·m-2 (n=18). | 18 | Effects of Seawater Acidification on Early Development of Clam Cyclina sinensis显示文摘Anthropogenic emission of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) has led to a rapid increase in atmospheric CO2 concentra- tion. Increasing atmospheric CO2 can reduce seawater pH and carbonate ions, which may adversely affect the survival of the larvae of calcareous animals. Cyclina sinensis is a commercially and ecologically important species in several Asian countries. Living in coast shallow waters, this species has experienced the coastal environmental changes frequently throughout its life cycle. In this study, we simulated possible future seawater pH values including 8.2, 7.8 and 7.4 and examined the effects of ocean acidification on the early development of C. sinensis. Clam embryos were incubated for 48 h (2 d) in control and high-CO2 seawater to compare embryo- genesis, larval growth and swimming behavior. Fertilization rate was quite sensitive to pH, and moderate acidification could induce a significant decrease in fertilization rate. However, only extreme acidification could bring significant negative effect to hatching rate, body size, and average path velocity of trochophora. Moreover, with seawater acidification, C. sinensis needs much more time to reach the same developmental stage, which increases the risk of larva survival.
