| 1 | Micro structure and corrosion behavior of ALD AI2O3 film on AZ31 magnesium alloy with different surface roughness显示文摘There remains growing interest in magnesium(Mg)and its alloys,as they are the lightest structural metallic materials and potential metallic biomaterials.In spite of the greatest historical Mg usage at present,the wider use of Mg alloys remains restricted by the poor corrosion resistance.A nano amorphous film,as the composition of Al2O3,had now been deposited on the AZ31 Mg alloy substrate by atomic layer deposition(ALD).Grazing incidence X-ray diffraction(GIXRD),X-ray reflectivity(XRR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),atomic force microscope(AFM)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)had been employed to identify the chemical compositions,microstructure and Al2O3/Mg interface of specimens firstly.Then corrosion behavior had been evaluated by neutral salt spray test and electrochemical measurement.The results showed that nano amorphous film made a homogeneous cover on Mg alloy.The film could improve the corrosion resistance of Mg alloy greatly,not only with a positive shift in Ecorr and a decrease in icorr,but also with a more uniform corroded mode.Furthermore,the roughness was found to be an important factor for corrosion resistant,in the way that rougher surface was corroded worse,and greater improvement would be in corrosion resistant after nano amorphous film deposition. | Fumin Xu Lan Luo Lei Xiong Yong Liu | 2020 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,2: | 5 |

Using a trial-and-error procedure to minimize errors, the coefficients were determined and a formula was developed for predicting the settling velocity of natural sediment particles. | 3 | A Cognitive Memory-Augmented Network for Visual Anomaly Detection显示文摘With the rapid development of automated visual analysis,visual analysis systems have become a popular research topic in the field of computer vision and automated analysis.Visual analysis systems can assist humans to detect anomalous events(e.g.,fighting,walking alone on the grass,etc).In general,the existing methods for visual anomaly detection are usually based on an autoencoder architecture,i.e.,reconstructing the current frame or predicting the future frame.Then,the reconstruction error is adopted as the evaluation metric to identify whether an input is abnormal or not.The flaws of the existing methods are that abnormal samples can also be reconstructed well.In this paper,inspired by the human memory ability,we propose a novel deep neural network(DNN)based model termed cognitive memory-augmented network(CMAN)for the visual anomaly detection problem.The proposed CMAN model assumes that the visual analysis system imitates humans to remember normal samples and then distinguishes abnormal events from the collected videos.Specifically,in the proposed CMAN model,we introduce a memory module that is able to simulate the memory capacity of humans and a density estimation network that can learn the data distribution.The reconstruction errors and the novelty scores are used to distinguish abnormal events from videos.In addition,we develop a two-step scheme to train the proposed model so that the proposed memory module and the density estimation network can cooperate to improve performance.Comprehensive experiments evaluated on various popular benchmarks show the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed CMAN model for visual anomaly detection comparing with the state-of-the-arts methods.The implementation code of our CMAN method can be accessed at http://gffzz188fe103f8f1460aswncc65kupfnx6vo9.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/CMANcode/CMAN_pytorch. | Tian Wang Xing Xu Fumin Shen Yang Yang | 2021 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2021,8,7: | 2 |
| 4 | The observed analysis on the wave spectra of Hurricane Juan (2003)显示文摘Hurricane Juan provides an excellent opportunity to probe into the detailed wave spectral patterns and spectral parameters of a hurricane system, with enough wave spectral observations around Juan's track in the deep ocean and shallow coastal water. In this study, Hurricane Juan and wave observation stations around Juan's track are introduced. Variations of wave composition are discussed and analyzed based on time series of one-dimensional frequency spectra, as well as wave steepness around Juan's track: before, during, and after Juan's passing. Wave spectral involvement is studied based on the observed one-dimensional spectra and two-dimensional spectra during the hurricane. The standardization method of the observed wave spectra during Hurricane Juan is discussed, and the standardized spectra show relatively conservative behavior, in spite of the huge variation in wave spectral energy, spectral peak, and peak frequency during this hurricane. Spectral widths' variation during Hurricane Juan are calculated and analyzed. | 5 | Effects of storm waves on rapid deposition of sediment in the Yangtze Estuary channel显示文摘Recent research on short-term topographic change in the Yangtze Estuary channel under storm surge conditions is briefly summarized. The mild-slope, Boussinesq and action balance equations are compared and analyzed. The action balance equation, SWAN, was used as a wave numerical model to forecast strong storm waves in the Yangtze Estuary. The spherical coordinate system and source terms used in the equation are described in this paper. The significant wave height and the wave orbital motion velocity near the bottom of the channel during 20 m/s winds in the EES direction were simulated, and the model was calibrated with observation data of winds and waves generated by Tropical Cyclone 9912. The distribution of critical velocity for incipient motion along the bottom was computed according to the threshold velocity formula for bottom sediment. The mechanism of rapid deposition is analyzed based on the difference between the root-mean-square value of the near-bottom wave orbital motion velocity and the bottom critical tractive velocity. The results show that a large amount of bottom sediments from Hengsha Shoal and Jiuduan Shoal are lifted into the water body when 20 m/s wind is blowing in the EES direction. Some of the sediments may enter the channel with the cross-channel current, causing serious rapid deposition. | 6 | Integrative taxonomy of the Plain-backed Thrush(Zoothera mollissima)complex(Aves,Turdidae)reveals cryptic species,including a new species显示文摘Background: The Plain-backed Thrush Zoothera mollissima breeds in the Himalayas and mountains of central China. It was long considered conspecific with the Long-tailed Thrush Zoothera dixoni, until these were shown to be broadly sympatric.Methods: We revise the Z. mollissima–Z. dixoni complex by integrating morphological, acoustic, genetic(two mitochondrial and two nuclear markers), ecological and distributional datasets.Results: In earlier field observations, we noted two very different song types of 'Plain-backed' Thrush segregated by breeding habitat and elevation. Further integrative analyses congruently identify three groups: an alpine breeder in the Himalayas and Sichuan, China('Alpine Thrush'); a forest breeder in the eastern Himalayas and northwest Yunnan(at least), China('Himalayan Forest Thrush'); and a forest breeder in central Sichuan('Sichuan Forest Thrush'). Alpine and Himalayan Forest Thrushes are broadly sympatric, but segregated by habitat and altitude, and the same is probably true also for Alpine and Sichuan Forest Thrushes. These three groups differ markedly in morphology and songs. In addition, DNA sequence data from three non-breeding specimens from Yunnan indicate that yet another lineage exists('Yunnan Thrush'). However, we find no consistent morphological differences from Alpine Thrush, and its breeding range is unknown. Molecular phylogenetic analyses suggest that all four groups diverged at least a few million years ago, and identify Alpine Thrush and the putative 'Yunnan Thrush' as sisters, and the two forest taxa as sisters. Cytochrome b divergences among the four Z. mollissima sensu lato(s.l.) clades are similar to those between any of them and Z. dixoni, and exceed that between the two congeneric outgroup species. We lectotypify the name Oreocincla rostrata Hodgson, 1845 with the Z. mollissima sensu stricto(s.s.) specimen long considered its type. No available name unambiguously pertains to the Himalayan Forest Thrush.Conclusions: The Plain-backed Thrush Z. mollissima s.l. comprises at least three species: Alpine Thrush Z. mollissima s.s., with a widespread alpine breeding distribution; Sichuan Forest Thrush Z. griseiceps, breeding in central Sichuan forests; and Himalayan Forest Thrush, breeding in the eastern Himalayas and northwest Yunnan(at least), which is described herein as a new species. | 8 | Genetic and Geographic Patterns of Duplicate DPL Genes Causing Genetic Incompatibility Within Rice:Implications for Multiple Domestication Events in Rice显示文摘Strong genetic incompatibilities exist between two primary rice subspecies,indica and japonica.However,the wild ancestors of rice,O.nivara Sharma et Shastry and O.rufipogon Griff.,are genetically compatible.How this genetic incompatibility became established has not been clearly elucidated.To provide insights into the process,we analyzed a pair of hybrid sterility genes in rice,DOPPELGANGER 1(DPL1)and DOPPELGANGER 2(DPL2).Either of the two loci can have one defective allele(DPL1-and DPL2-).Hybrid pollen carrying both DPL1-and DPL2-alleles is sterile.To explore the origination of DPL1-and DPL2-,we sequenced the DPL1 and DPL2 genes of 811 individual plants,including Oryza sativa(132),O.nivara(296)and O.rufipogon(383).We then obtained 20 DPL1 and 34 DPL2 sequences of O.sativa from online databases.Using these sequences,we analyzed the genetic and geographic distribution patterns of DPL genes in modern rice and its wild ancestors.Compared with the ancestral populations,DPL1-and DPL2-showed reduced diversity but increased frequency in modern rice.We speculated that the diversity reduction was due to a historic genetic bottleneck,and the frequency had likely increased because the defective alleles were preferred following this artificial selection.Such results indicated that standing variances in ancestral lines can lead to severe incompatibilities among descendants.Haplotype analysis indicated that the DPL1-haplotype of rice emerged from an O.nivara population in India,whereas the DPL2-haplotype emerged from O.rufipogon in South China.Hence,the evolutionary history of DPLs conforms to the presumed multiple domestication events of modern rice. | Xu Xun Ge Song Zhang Fumin | 2021 | Rice science2021,28,1: | 1 |

| 11 | Influence of heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of Al/Al-Cu graded materials显示文摘Five-layered Al/Al-Cu functionally graded material (FGM) was prepared by powder metallurgy technology, and the subsequent heat treatment was carried out for the graded material. The microstructures and distribution of Cu element under pressure sintering (F), solution treatment (T4) and artificial aging treatment (T6) were investigated, and the Vickers hardness and flexural properties of different states were tested. The results showed that sintered compact with dense structure and compositional continuous change was obtained. The second-phase CuAl 2 was dispersively distributed along grain boundary of Al matrix. After solution treatment at 503 C for 3 h, CuAl 2 phase obviously decreased and dissolved into the Al matrix, and the flexural strength was thereupon enhanced to 228.5 MPa. With the subsequent aging treatment at 150 C for 15 h, the majority of flake shaped precipitates θ phases were uniformly distributed in the matrix. And the distribution of Cu element became gradual continuous compared to sintered compact. | 15 | An extended time-dependent numerical model of the mild-slope equation with weakly nonlinear amplitude dispersion显示文摘In the present paper, by introducing the effective wave elevation, we transform the extended ellip- tic mild-slope equation with bottom friction, wave breaking and steep or rapidly varying bottom topography to the simplest time-dependent hyperbolic equation. Based on this equation and the empirical nonlinear amplitude dispersion relation proposed by Li et al. (2003), the numerical scheme is established. Error analysis by Taylor expansion method shows that the numerical stability of the present model succeeds the merits in Song et al. (2007)’s model because of the introduced dissipation terms. For the purpose of verifying its performance on wave nonlinearity, rapidly vary- ing topography and wave breaking, the present model is applied to study: (1) wave refraction and diffraction over a submerged elliptic shoal on a slope (Berkhoff et al., 1982); (2) Bragg reflection of monochromatic waves from the sinusoidal ripples (Davies and Heathershaw, 1985); (3) wave transformation near a shore attached breakwater (Watanabe and Maruyama, 1986).
