| 4 | Acute pancreatitis in aging animals:Loss of pancreatitis-associated protein protection?显示文摘AIM:To investigate the effect of age on severity of acute pancreatitis(AP) using biochemical markers,histology and expression of the protective pancreatitisassociated proteins(PAPs).METHODS:AP was induced via intraductal injection of 4% sodium taurocholate in young and old rats.Sera and pancreata were assayed at 24 h for the parameters listed above;we also employed a novel molecular technique to assess bacterial infiltration using polymerase chain reaction to measure bacterial genomic ribosomal RNA.RESULTS:At 24 h after induction of AP,the pancreata of older animals had less edema(mean ± SE histologic score of young vs old:3.11 ± 0.16 vs 2.50 ±-0.11,P < 0.05),decreased local inflammatory response(histologic score of stromal infiltrate:3.11 ± 0.27 vs 2.00 ± 0.17,P < 0.05) and increased bacterial infiltration(174% ± 52% increase from sham vs 377% ± 4%,P < 0.05).A decreased expression of PAP1 and PAP2 was demonstrated by Western blotting analysis and immunohistochemical staining.There were no differences in serum amylase and lipase activity,or tissue myeloperoxidase or monocyte chemotactic protein-1 levels.However,in the most-aged group,serum C-reactive protein levels were higher(young vs old:0.249 ± 0.04 mg/dL vs 2.45 ± 0.68 mg/dL,P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:In older animals,there is depressed PAP expression related to a blunted inflammatory response in AP which is associated with worsened bacterial infiltration and higher C-reactive protein level;this may explain the more aggressive clinical course. | Sophia Fu Albert Stanek Cathy M Mueller Nefertti A Brown Chongmin Huan Martin H Bluth Michael E Zenilman | 2012 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2012，18，26： | 5 |

| 9 | Neonatal vitamin A injection promotes cattle muscle growth and increases oxidative muscle fibers显示文摘Background: Vitamin A and its metabolite,retinoic acid(RA),are important regulators of cell differentiation and organ morphogenesis.Its impact on beef cattle muscle growth remains undefined.Method: Angus steer calves were administrated with 0(control) or 150,000 IU vitamin A(retinyl palmitate in glycerol,i.m.) per calf at birth and 1 month of age.At 2 months of age,a biopsy of the Biceps femoris muscle was obtained to analyze the immediate effects of vitamin A injection on myogenic capacity of muscle cells.The resulting steers were harvested at 14 months of age.Results: Vitamin A administration increased cattle growth at 2 months.At 2 months of age,Vitamin A increased PAX7 positive satellite cells and the expression of myogenic marker genes including PAX7,MYF5,MYOD and MYOG.Muscle derived mononuclear cells were further isolated and induced myogenesis in vitro.More myotubes and a higher degree of myogenesis was observed in vitamin A groups.Consistently,vitamin A increased Latissimus dorsi(LD) muscle fiber size at harvest.In addition,vitamin A increased the ratio of oxidative type I and type IIA fibers and reduced the glycolic type IIX fibers.Furthermore,we found that RA,a key bioactive metabolite of vitamin A,activated PPARGC1 A promoter,which explains the upregulated expression of PPARGC1 A in skeletal muscle.Conclusion: Vitamin A administration to neonatal calves enhanced postnatal muscle growth by promoting myogenesis and increasing satellite cell density,accompanied with a shift to oxidative muscle fibers. | Bo Wang Wei Nie Xing Fu Jeanene M de Avila Yannan Ma Mei-Jun Zhu Martin Maquivar Steven M Parish Jan R Busboom Mark L Nelson Min Du | 2019 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2019，10，1： | 3 |

| 12 | Interoperability of Design Intent in Integrated Product and Process Design显示文摘Concurrent engineering is currently an overwhelming t rend in product development since it takes the down-stream product development issues and product life-cycle issues into consideration in up-front design pro cess. At this stage, evaluation, verification and validation of design concepts and design schemes is critical to the right-to-market product development. I dentification and extraction of design intent from the part digital mock-ups in different data formats and created in different CAD systems for DFX considerati on, evaluation, verification, and validation is crucial too. Traditionally, fro m manufacturing point of view, feature identification and extraction is to get t he features and feature-related information for manufacturing planning and inte gration. Presently, from the viewpoint of product development and product servi ce life cycle, design intent identification and extraction is to get all the des ign-related information for DFX consideration in early design stage, such as de sign for assembly, design for service, design for tooling, design for functional ity and design for environment etc. Therefore, how to successfully extract desi gn intent such as design and machining features and design-related information from the prototyping digital mock-ups created by different CAD systems for DFX consideration in upstream design stage is a very useful topic in integrated prod uct and process design and development. Presently, there are heterogeneous CAD systems in the market and the interoperat ion among the different CAD systems is indispensable. The interoperability of d ifferent CAD systems is by way of data exchanged technology such as STEP and IGE S. The critical weakness of this interoperation technology is that much of the design intent is lost in the interoperation process. Once the product digital m ock-ups is exchanged via data exchange technology such as IGES or STEP, the des ign intent including the dimension-driven design features and other attributes embedded in the part model are lost in the data translation process. Models rea d out of CAD systems come into other systems as featureless chunks of geometry e ntities. Obviously, the interoperation technology does not satisfy the industry need. It has been reported that this poor interoperation technology, which pro vides poor CAD models in neutral-format geometry had cost the automobile indust ry alone $1 billon per year. Fortunately, some researchers have been aware of t he criticality of this since only the United States industry spends billons of d ollars as a result of poor interoperability between computer-aided engineering software tools. In the past, product development was often done within a single company by co-located design team. In more recent years, there has been a busi ness paradigm shift in product development as the product development is being d one more often by geographically and temporally distributed design teams. There is a high level of outsourcing, not only of manufacturing but also of actual pr oduct development effort. Besides, product development across companies, and ev en within a single company, is often done within a heterogeneous software tool e nvironment. How to improve the interoperability of design intent created in het erogeneous software tool environment geographically has become a critical issue in next-generation product development system. Design intent in this research is defined as the outcome of design process. Des ign process goes from the identification of needs to satisfaction of that needs. Design intent satisfies this kind of needs. In this research, design intent i s created in a CAD system and embedded in part CAD model. The detailed design i ntent here includes design and manufacturing features and the feature-relat ed information such as feature parameters, feature relationships and some relate d characteristics such as associativity. The model consisted of four parts: (1) Starting with the description of the electromagnetic field of the infrared radiation in the QWIP, effective component of the vector potential <| A z |> along the QWIP growth direction ( z axis) due to the optical diffraction grating was calculated. (2) From the wave transmissions and the occupations of the electronic states, it was discussed that the dark current in the QWIP is determined by the drift diffusion current of carriers thermally excited from the ground sublevel in the quantum well to extended states above the barrier. (3) The photocurrent was investigated by the optical transition (absorption coefficient between the ground state to excited states due to the nonzero <| A z |> ). (4) By studying the inter diffusion of the Al atoms across the GaAs?AlGaAs heterointerfaces,the mobility of the drift diffusion carriers in the excited states was calculated, so the measurement results of the dark current and photocurrent spectra can be explained theoretically.
