1Defect engineering of molybdenum disulfide through ion irradiation to boost hydrogen evolution reaction performance显示文摘The inert basal plane of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) restrains its further hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance.This work attempts ion irradiation to activate inert basal plane of MoS2 nanosheet to improve its electrocatalytic performance.Experimental results demonstrate the sulphur vacancies generated by ion irradiation on the basal plane of MoS2 mainly boost the efficiency of HER performance.The moderate fluence of carbon ion irradiation gains the optimum HER performance with an onset potential of 77 mV and Tafel slope of 66 mV/dec.Cheng Sun Peipei Wang Hao Wang Chuan Xu Juntong Zhu Yanxia Liang Ying Su Yining Jiang Wenqi Wu Engang Fu Guifu Zou 2019Nano Research2019,12,7:3

5Corrosion and irradiation behavior of Fe-based amorphous coating in lead-bismuth eutectic liquids显示文摘Lead-bismuth eutectics (LBE) have considerable potential as a candidate material for accelerator-driven sub-critical systems(ADS).However,LBE corrosion and irradiation damage are two urgent challenges remaining to be solved for impellers of primary pumps.In this study,we have explored the possibility of using Fe-based amorphous coatings to overcome LBE corrosion and concurrently to sustain irradiation damage.Specifically,the Fe_(54)Cr_(18)Mo_(2)Zr_(8)B_(18)amorphous coating was prepared by high-velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF) spraying on 316L steel and exposed to saturated oxygen static LBE for 500 h at 400℃.The coating with high thermal stability (T_(g)=615℃ and T_(x)=660℃) effectively prevented the substrate steel from being corroded by LBE owing to its unique long-range disordered atomic packing.The coating also exhibited strong irradiation resistance when being subjected to 45 dpa (displacement per atom) Au ion irradiation at room temperature,with no sign of crystallization even at the maximum implantation depth of 300 nm.Consequently,the hardness of the coatings before and after irradiation increased slightly.The current findings shed new insights into understanding corrosion mechanism and irradiation behavior of amorphous solids in LBE and expand the application range of amorphous materials.LU ZhiChao PENG Xiang Yang TANG YuHai HAN ShuYin WU Yuan FU EnGang DING XiangBin HOU Shuo LU GuangYao CAO PeiPei ZHANG YiBo LIU XiongJun MA Dong WANG Hui JIANG SuiHe LU ZhaoPing 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,2:1

7Proton radiation effects on high-speed silicon Mach-Zehnder modulators for space application显示文摘In this paper,performance degradation effects on high-speed silicon Mach-Zehnder modulators under proton radiation were investigated for future space environment applications.The test devices were exposed to 3-MeV protons of three fluence levels(5×10,2×10,and 5×10ions/cm~2),which is comparable to the radiation amount for operating in a harsh space environment after several decades.The performance of the silicon modulator after radiation was characterized in terms of modulation efficiency and eye diagram.The results illustrate that the modulation efficiency is significantly reduced after proton radiation and shows an obvious decrease with increasing radiation fluence.The extinction ratios of the on-off keying(OOK)eye diagram are obviously dropped with increasing radiation fluence and correspond well to modulation efficiency degradation.Furthermore,three representative states for data transmission are demonstrated under three fluences,from still working to the critical state and eventually complete fail.Displacement damage and ionization damage are the two major mechanisms during proton radiation,which lead to the bulk defects and accumulating defect charges and cause performance degradation of silicon Mach-Zehnder modulators.Changhao HAN Zhaoyi HU Yuansheng TAO Engang FU Yandong HE Fenghe YANG Jun QIN Xingjun WANG 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,12:0
8Tuning the release rate of volatile molecules by pore surface engineering in metal-organic frameworks显示文摘Encapsulation and controlled release of volatile molecules such as fragrances in a designed manner is important but challenging for the flavor and fragrance industry.Here,we report the tuning release of volatile molecules by postsynthetic modification of an amine-terminated metal-organic framework(MOF)MIL-101-NH_(2).By amidation,we obtained three MIL-101 MOFs,the trimethylacetamideterminated TC-MIL-101,the benzamide-terminated BC-MIL-101,and the oxalic acid monoamideterminated OC-MIL-101.All the MOFs can efficiently encapsulate volatile molecules.Moreover,we demonstrate that the release profile of volatiles can be widely tuned to sustain the release in several days to months and even over a year using different modified MIL-101 MOFs.We show that the release profiles are correlated with the binding energies between the guest volatiles and pores in MOFs.The pore diffusion and the synergistic transport are the rate-limiting step of the guest molecules from the modified MOFs.Hongwen Chen Huaqiang Chen Bo Zhang Liming Jiang Youqing Shen Engang Fu Dan Zhao Zhuxian Zhou 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,6:0
