2Insights into Cronobacter sakazakii Biofilm Formation and Control Strategies in the Food Industry显示文摘Cronobacter sakazakii(C.sakazakii)is a foodborne opportunistic pathogen that can cause life-threatening invasive diseases,such as necrotizing enterocolitis,meningitis,and sepsis in infants.The potential risk of C.sakazakii contamination of powdered infant formula(PIF)is an issue that has attracted considerable attention from manufacturers,regulators,and consumers.C.sakazakii biofilms on the surfaces of equipment and in diverse food-production environments constitute a mode of cell growth that protects the pathogen from hostile environments,and are an important source of persistent contamination of food products.Bacterial biofilms are difficult to remove due to their resistant properties.Conventional cleaning and sterilizing procedures may be insufficient for biofilm control,and may lead to further biofilm development and dispersal.Consequently,novel control strategies are being developed,such as nanotechnology-based delivery systems,interspecies interactions,antimicrobial molecules of microbial origin,natural extracts,and phages.This review focuses on describing the mechanisms underlying the biofilm formation and behavior of C.sakazakii and discussing potential control strategies.Na Ling Stephen Forsythe Qingping Wu Yu Ding Jumei Zhang Haiyan Zeng 2020Engineering2020,6,4:10

7Ionic liquid/tetraglyme hybrid Mg[TFSI]_2 electrolytes for rechargeable Mg batteries显示文摘The electrochemical reversibility of Mg in hybrid electrolytes based on mixtures of ionic liquid and glyme based organic solvents was investigated for applications in rechargeable magnesium batteries(RMBs). The electrolytes demonstrate reversible reduction and oxidation of Mg only after being pre-treated with the dehydrating agent, magnesium borohydride, Mg[BH_4]_2, highlighting the importance of removing water in Mg based electrolytes. The addition magnesium di[bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide](Mg[TFSI]_2)(0.3 M) to N-butyl-n-methyl-pyrrolidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide [C4 mpyr][TFSI]/tetraglyme at a mole ratio of 1:2 showed stable CV cycling over almost 300 cycles while scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) confirmed Mg deposition, showing non-dendritic morphology and a well-aligned growth. Further thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) demonstrated a mass retention of 79% at 250℃ for this electrolyte suggesting that the presence of the ionic liquid increases thermal stability substantially making these hybrid electrolytes compatible for RMBs.Zheng Ma Maria Forsyth Douglas R.MacFarlane Mega Kar 2019Green Energy & Environment2019,4,2:2
8黏液瘤病毒对胃癌的治疗作用显示文摘目的观察黏液瘤病毒(MYXV)对胃癌细胞的抑制作用。方法选用低分化原发性胃癌细胞(AGS)、来自腹水的转移性胃癌(SNU-1)、来自肝转移的转移性胃癌(NCL—N87)、来自淋巴结转移的转移性胃癌(KATOIII)等4种不同胃癌细胞株,采用Alamarblue分析MYXV对不同胃癌细胞株的抑制作用,采用Westernblot法检测MYXV的病毒复制蛋白(MT-7和Serp-1)在胃癌细胞中的表达,采用NCL.N87细胞株建立裸小鼠人胃癌移植瘤腹腔种植和皮下种植模型,观察MYXV对移植瘤的抑制作用,荧光显微镜下检测荷瘤小鼠体内活病毒。结果MYXV对4种不同胃癌细胞株都有抑制作用,抑制作用的比率分别为31.30%、33.98%、53.09%和50.12%,与对照组NIH3T3比较差异有统计学意义(P〈0.05)。病毒复制蛋白MT-7和Serp-1蛋白在所有4种胃癌细胞中都有表达。MYXV可明显抑制移植瘤的生长,肿瘤抑制率达80%,与对照组比较差异有统计学意义(P〈0.05)。荷瘤小鼠处死后只在瘤内检测到活病毒,而在其他脏器中并未检出活病毒。结论MYXV对人体胃癌具有特异性的杀伤作用而不感染正常组织和细胞,可能是一个潜在的高效安全的肿瘤治疗手段。龚伟 顾均 周迪 赵铭宁 全志伟 方国恩 刘颖斌 Xueqing Lun Peter Forsyth Grant McFacdden 张勇 2012中华实验外科杂志2012,29,10:2
9Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) supports adhesion and migration of mesenchymal stem cells and tenocytes显示文摘AIM: To establish the potential of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) (PHBHHx) as a material for tendon repair. METHODS: The biocompatibility of PHBHHx with both rat tenocytes (rT) and human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) was explored by monitoring adhesive characteristics on films of varying weight/volume ratios coupled to a culture atmosphere of either 21% O2 (air) or 2% O2 (physiological normoxia). The diameter and stiffness of PHBHHx films was established using optical coherence tomography and mechanical testing, respectively. RESULTS: Film thickness correlated directly with weight/volume PHBHHx (r2 = 0.9473) ranging from 0.1 mm (0.8% weight/volume) to 0.19 mm (2.4% weight/volume). Film stiffness on the other hand displayed a biphasic response which increased rapidly at values > 1.6% weight/volume. Optimal cell attachment of rT required films of ≥ 1.6% and ≥ 2.0% weight/volume PHBHHx in 2% O2 and 21% O2 respectively. A qualitative adhesion increase was noted for hMSC in films ≥ 1.2% weight/volume, becoming significant at 2% weight/volume in 2% O2. An increase in cell adhesion was also noted with ≥ 2% weight/volume PHBHHx in 21% O2. Cell migration into films was not observed. 11Conversion coatings of Mg-alloy AZ91D using trihexyl(tetradecyl) phosphonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide ionic liquid显示文摘This work reveals the performance of a trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)amide ([P6,6,6,14][NTf2]) ionic liquid (IL) conversion coating upon AZ91D. Such conversion coatings represent a novel avenue for chromate replacement. An optimization of coating performance was pursued by careful alloy pretreatment to generate a surface on which the coating performs best, as the AZ91 substrate is distinctly different from pure or dilute Mg alloys. The results reveal that a functional conversion coating can be achieved, retarding anodic dissolution kinetics, causing a significant decrease in corrosion rate. The coating efficacy is closely tied to the pretreatment performed, which dictates both the microstructural and electrochemical heterogeneity of the surface.
