1Discrimination of the rare medicinal plant Dendrobium officinale based on naringenin, bibenzyl, and polysaccharides显示文摘The aim of this study was to establish a method for discriminating Dendrobium officinale from four of its close relatives Dendrobium chrysanthum, Dendrobium crystallinum, Dendrobium aphyllum and Dendrobium devonianum based on chemical composition analysis. We analyzed 62 samples of 24 Dendrobium species. High performance liquid chromatography analysis confirmed that the four low molecular weight compounds 4′,5,7-trihydroxyflavanone (naringenin), 3,4-dihydroxy-4′,5-dime- thoxybibenzyl (DDB-2), 3′,4-dihydroxy-3,5′-dimethoxybibenzyl (gigantol), and 4,4′-dihydroxy-3,3′,5-trimethoxybibenzyl (moscatilin), were common in the genus. The phenol-sulfuric acid method was used to quantify polysaccharides, and the monosaccharide composition of the polysaccharides was determined by gas chromatography. Stepwise discriminant analysis was used to differentiate among the five closely related species based on the chemical composition analysis. This proved to be a simple and accurate approach for discriminating among these species. The results also showed that the polysaccharide content, the amounts of the four low molecular weight compounds, and the mannose to glucose ratio, were important factors for species discriminant. 2Analysis of the Global Burden of Disease study highlights the trends in death and disability-adjusted life years of leukemia from 1990 to 2017显示文摘Background:The patterns of leukemia burden have dramatically changed in recent years.This study aimed to estimate the global trends of leukemiarelated death and disability-adjusted life-years(DALYs)from 1990 to 2017.Methods:The data was acquired from the latest version of the Global Burden of Disease(GBD)study.Estimated annual percentage changes(EAPCs)were calculated to estimate the trend of age-standardized rate(ASR)of death and DALYs due to leukemia and its main subtypes from 1990 to 2017.Results:Globally,the numbers of death and DALYs due to leukemia were 347.58×10^(3)(95%uncertainty interval[UI]=317.26×10^(3)-364.88×10^(3))and 11975.35×10^(3)(95%UI=10749.15×10^(3)-12793.58×10^(3))in 2017,with a 31.22% and 0.03% increase in absolute numbers from 1990 to 2017,respectively.Both of their ASR showed decreasing trends from 1990 to 2017 with the EAPCs being−1.04(95%confidence interval[CI]=(−1.10-−0.99)and−1.52(95%CI=−1.59-−1.44),respectively.Globally,the most pronounced decreasing trend of death and DALYs occurred in chronic myeloid leukemia with EAPCs of−2.76(95%CI=−2.88-−2.64)and−2.84(95%CI=−2.97-−2.70),respectively,while the trend increased in acute myeloid leukemia.The death and DALYs of leukemia decreased in most areas and countries with high socio-demographic index(SDI)including Bahrain,Finland,and Australia.Conclusions:The disease burden of death and DALYs due to leukemia decreased globally,and for most regions and countries from 1990 to 2017.However,the leukemia burden is still a substantial challenge globally and required adequate and affordable medical resources to improve the survival and quality of life of leukemia patients.Zejin Ou Danfeng Yu Yuanhao Liang Wenqiao He Yongzhi Li Minyi Zhang Fangfei You Huan He Qing Chen 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,11:4

4Clinical translation and challenges of biodegradable magnesium-based interference screws in ACL reconstruction显示文摘As one of the most promising fixators developed for anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)reconstruction,biodegradable magnesium(Mg)-based interference screws have gained increasing attention attributed to their appropriate modulus and favorable biological properties during degradation after surgical insertion.However,its fast degradation and insufficient mechanical strength have also been recognized as one of the major causes to limit their further application clinically.This review focused on the following four parts.Firstly,the advantages of Mg or its alloys over their counterparts as orthopaedic implants in the fixation of tendon grafts in ACL reconstruction were discussed.Subsequently,the underlying mechanisms behind the contributions of Mg ions to the tendon-bone healing were introduced.Thirdly,the technical challenges of Mg-based interference screws towards clinical trials were discussed,which was followed by the introduction of currently used modification methods for gaining improved corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.Finally,novel strategies including development of Mg/Titanium(Ti)hybrid fixators and Mg-based screws with innovative structure for achieving clinically customized therapies were proposed.Collectively,the advancements in the basic and translational research on the Mg-based interference screws may lay the foundation for exploring a new era in the treatment of the tendon-bone insertion(TBI)and related disorders.Ying Luo Chao Zhang Jue Wang Fangfei Liu Kelvin Wingho Chau Ling Qin Jiali Wang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,10:4
5Efficient Multi-rate Encoder of QC-LDPC Codes Based on FPGA for WIMAX Standard显示文摘An efficient multi-rate encoder for IEEE802.16e LDPC codes which outperforms current single rate encoders with acceptable hardware consumption and efficient memory consumption is proposed.This design utilizes the common dual-diagonal structure in parity matrices to avoid the inverse matrix operation which requires extensive computations.Parallel Matrix-vector multiplication(MVM) units,bidirectional operation and storage compression are applied to this multi-rate encoder to increase the encoding speed and significantly reduce the quantity of memory bits required.The proposed encoding architecture also contributes to the design of multi-rate encoders whose parity matrices are dual-diagonally structured and have an Approximately lower triangular(ALT)form,such as in IEEE 802.11n and IEEE 802.22.Simulation results verified that the proposed encoder can efficiently work for all code rates specified in WIMAX standard.With a maximum clock frequency of 117 MHz,the encoder achieves 3 to 10 times higher throughput than prior works.The proposed encoder is capable to switch among six rates by adjusting the input parameter and it achieves the throughput up to 1Gbps.WANG Xiumin GE Tingting LI Jun SU Chen HONG Fangfei 2017Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,2:2
6High-temperature superconductivity in sulfur hydride evidenced by alternating-current magnetic susceptibility显示文摘The search for high-temperature superconductivity is one of the research frontiers in physics. In the sulfur hydride system, an extremely high T_c(~200 K) has been recently developed at pressure. However, the Meissner effect measurement above megabar pressures is still a great challenge. Here, we report the superconductivity identification of sulfur hydride at pressure, employing an in situ alternating-current magnetic susceptibility technique. We determine the superconducting phase diagram, finding that superconductivity suddenly appears at 117 GPa and Tcreaches 183 K at 149 GPa before decreasing monotonically with increasing pressure. By means of theoretical calculations, we elucidate the variation of T_c in the low-pressure region in terms of the changing stoichiometry of sulfur hydride and the further decrease in Tcowing to a drop in the electron–phonon interaction parameter λ. 7Structural basis for the different states of the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 in complex with ACE2显示文摘Dear Editor,Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)has become a severe threat to global health.1 The spike(S)protein on the surface of SARS-CoV-2 exploits angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)as cellular receptor and mediates the fusion of the viral and the host cell membrane during infection.1,2 The activation of the S protein requires the receptor-binding domain(RBD)binding to the peptidase domain(PD)of ACE2 and the cleavage by host proteases into the N-terminal S1 subunit and the C-terminal S2 subunit.2,3,4 An additional furin cleavage site“RRAR”present in the S1/S2 cleavage region of SARS-CoV-2,which is absent in SARS-CoV that shares about 80%sequence identity with SARS-CoV-2 and caused an epidemic in 2002–2003,might help accelerate the activation of the S protein.S1 consists of the N-terminal domain(NTD),the RBD,subdomain 1 and 2(SD1 and SD2).The RBD adopts two distinct conformations:“up”and“down”.Only the“up”RBD exposes the receptor-binding site.S2,containing the hydrophobic fusion peptide,is responsible for the viral and cell membrane fusion.The molecular mechanism underlying the activation of the S protein of SARS-CoV-2 represents a critical clue for therapeutic development.Here we report the cryo-electron microscopy(cryo-EM)structures of trimeric extracellular domain of the S protein(hereinafter referred to as S)at multiple states and conformations,including the all RBD-locked,activated,S1/S2 trypsin-cleaved,PD of ACE2-bound,and the full-length ACE2-bound states.PD binds to the trimeric S protein with consistent interface,inducing conformational change at adjacent region.The trypsin-digested S protein tends to accommodate more PD molecules.Furthermore,the structure of the S–ACE2–B0AT1 ternary complex indicates that one ACE2 dimer binds two trimeric S proteins simultaneously.These results provide clues for the mechanism of the activation of the S protein of SARS-CoV-2.Renhong Yan Yuanyuan Zhang Yaning Li Fangfei Ye Yingying Guo Lu Xia Xinyue Zhong Ximin Chi Qiang Zhou 2021Cell Research2021,31,6:2

9Validation of a novel mixing-plane method for multistage turbomachinery steady flow analysis显示文摘The steady calculation based on the mixing-plane method is still the most widely-used three-dimensional flow analysis tool for multistage turbomachines. For modern turbomachines,the trend of design is to reach higher aerodynamic loading but with still further compact size. In such a case, the traditional mixing-plane method has to be revised to give a more physically meaningful prediction. In this paper, a novel mixing-plane method was proposed, and three representative test cases including a transonic compressor, a highly-loaded centrifugal compressor and a highpressure axial turbine were performed for validation purpose. This novel mixing-plane method can satisfy the flux conservation perfectly. Reverse flow across the mixing-plane interface can be resolved naturally, thus making this method numerically robust. Artificial reflection at the mixing-plane interface is almost eliminated, and then its detrimental impact on the flow field is minimized. 15帕博利珠单抗单药或联合化疗对PD-L1≥50%晚期NSCLC疗效的回顾性分析显示文摘目的该研究旨在评估及比较帕博利珠单抗联合含铂化疗(pembrolizumab plus platinum-based chemotherapy,PC)或帕博利珠单抗单药治疗(pembrolizumab monotherapy, PM)对程序性死亡配体1(programmed death ligand 1, PD-L1)肿瘤比例评分(tumor proportion score, TPS)≥50%的晚期非小细胞肺癌(non-small cell lung cancer, NSCLC)患者的疗效。方法回顾性分析比较PM和PC作为一线治疗时,对PD-L1-TPS≥50%且无表皮生长因子受体(epidermal growth factor receptor,EGFR)和间变性淋巴瘤激酶(anaplastic lymphoma kinase, ALK)突变NSCLC患者的疗效。结果研究纳入115例PC和91例PM治疗患者。至2020年12月30日,中位随访时间为17.13个月。PC和PM组中位无进展生存期(progression-free survival, PFS)分别为12.37个月和9.60个月(HR:0.44, P<0.001)。中位总生存期(overall survival, OS)分别为未能评估(not evaluable, NE)和28.91个月(HR:0.40, P=0.005)。亚组分析发现,除脑转移患者外,PC对大多数患者的PFS均有显著改善。PC和PM组的1年OS率分别为89.3%和76.1%;客观缓解率分别为61.7和46.9%(P=0.004)。结论标准含铂化疗基础上联合帕博利珠单抗似乎是初治、PD-L1≥50%、无EGFR或ALK突变的晚期NSCLC患者治疗的更优方案,需前瞻性研究验证该结论。Ya CHEN Yanan WANG Zhengyu YANG Minjuan HU Yanwei ZHANG Fangfei QIAN Wei ZHANG Bo ZHANG Baohui HAN 王李强(翻译校对) 2022中国肺癌杂志2022,25,2:1
