| 2 | Fetal brain tumors:Prenatal diagnosis by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging显示文摘Congenital central nervous system tumors diagnosed during pregnancy are rare, and often have a poor prognosis. The most frequent type is the teratoma. Use of ultrasound and magnetic resonance image allows the suspicion of brain tumors during pregnancy. However, the definitive diagnosis is only confirmed after birth by histology. | 3 | Mayombian ethnic,vegetables low intake,insulin treatment,diabetic nephropathy and severe diabetic retinopathy are determinants of blindness in diabetic Africans显示文摘AIM:to determine the frequency and causes of blindness in diabetic Africans.METHODS:The study was a cross-sectional survey carried out among known black diabetics consecutively admitted at the Teaching Hospital,University of Kinshasa,between 2005 and 2007.Examination methods included interviewer-administered structured question naire,eye examinations(visual acuity,tonometry,funduscopy),and fasting plasma glycaemia test.RESULTS:Of the 227 patients examined,15.9% had blindness.Univariate analyses showed significant association between female,severity of diabetic retinopathy,Mayombian ethnic group,use of insulin treatment,low intake of vegetables,diabetic nephropathy,open angle glaucoma and blindness in all diabetics.After logistic regression,only diabetic nephropathy,use of insulin treatment,macular oedema,Mayombian ethnic group and vegetables low intake were the independent risk factors of blindness in all diabetics.However,after logistic regression in the sub-group with diabetic retinopathy,only open angle glaucoma and proliferative diabetic retinopathy were the independent determinants of blindness.CONCLUSION:The majority of the causes of blindness in these diabetic Africans are avoidable.It is recommended that appropriate diabetes care,nutrition education,periodic eye examination and laser photocoagulation facilities should be provided for treating diabetics in sub-Saharan Africa. | Mvitu Muaka Moise Longo-Mbenza Benjamin Cibanda Yokobo Enoch Longo Phemba Igor | 2013 | International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2013，6，5： | 6 |

| 5 | Spatial differences in soybean bioactive components across China and their influence by weather factors显示文摘Bioactive components are partially responsible for the nutritional and health benefits of soybeans. Four major bioactive components: isoflavones, oligosaccharides, phospholipids,and saponins, were quantified in 763 soybean samples collected from widely distributed regions across China from 2010 to 2013. A majority of the tested bioactive components showed generally declining trends from the north(high latitude) to the south(low latitude).A positive relationship between total oligosaccharides(TO) and altitude was observed. Total isoflavones(TI), phospholipids(TP) and TO were negatively correlated with cumulative temperature above or equal to 15 °C(AT15) and mean daily temperature(MDT), but positively correlated with diurnal temperature range(DTR) and hours of sunshine(HS).Total saponins(TS) were negatively correlated with MDT but positively correlated with rainfall(RF), whereas TO were negatively correlated with RF. Path-coefficient analysis showed that, besides genotype differences, temperature and HS during the reproductive period influenced TI and TP contents, while temperature and RF influenced TS and TO. The effects of weather factors on soybean bioactive components in diverse regions of China were characterized. | 6 | Effects of music and video on perceived exertion during high-intensity exercise显示文摘Background: Dissociative attentional stimuli(e.g., music, video) are effective in decreasing ratings of perceived exertion(RPE) during low-tomoderate intensity exercise, but have inconsistent results during exercise at higher intensity. The purpose of this study was to assess attentional focus and RPE during high-intensity exercise as a function of being exposed to music, video, both(music and video), or a no-treatment control condition.Methods: During the first session, healthy men(n = 15) completed a maximal fitness test to determine the workload necessary for high-intensity exercise(operationalized as 125% ventilatory threshold) to be performed during subsequent sessions. On 4 subsequent days, they completed 20 min of high-intensity exercise in a no-treatment control condition or while listening to music, watching a video, or both. Attentional focus, RPE,heart rate, and distance covered were measured every 4 min during the exercise.Results: Music and video in combination resulted in significantly lower RPE across time(partial η~2= 0.36) and the size of the effect increased over time(partial η~2= 0.14). Additionally, music and video in combination resulted in a significantly more dissociative focus than the other conditions(partial η~2= 0.29).Conclusion: Music and video in combination may result in lower perceived exertion during high-intensity exercise when compared to music or video in isolation.
