| 1 | Prediction of flyrock distance induced by mine blasting using a novel Harris Hawks optimization-based multi-layer perceptron neural network显示文摘In mining or construction projects,for exploitation of hard rock with high strength properties,blasting is frequently applied to breaking or moving them using high explosive energy.However,use of explosives may lead to the flyrock phenomenon.Flyrock can damage structures or nearby equipment in the surrounding areas and inflict harm to humans,especially workers in the working sites.Thus,prediction of flyrock is of high importance.In this investigation,examination and estimation/forecast of flyrock distance induced by blasting through the application of five artificial intelligent algorithms were carried out.One hundred and fifty-two blasting events in three open-pit granite mines in Johor,Malaysia,were monitored to collect field data.The collected data include blasting parameters and rock mass properties.Site-specific weathering index(WI),geological strength index(GSI) and rock quality designation(RQD)are rock mass properties.Multi-layer perceptron(MLP),random forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM),and hybrid models including Harris Hawks optimization-based MLP(known as HHO-MLP) and whale optimization algorithm-based MLP(known as WOA-MLP) were developed.The performance of various models was assessed through various performance indices,including a10-index,coefficient of determination(R^(2)),root mean squared error(RMSE),mean absolute percentage error(MAPE),variance accounted for(VAF),and root squared error(RSE).The a10-index values for MLP,RF,SVM,HHO-MLP and WOA-MLP are 0.953,0.933,0.937,0.991 and 0.972,respectively.R^(2) of HHO-MLP is 0.998,which achieved the best performance among all five machine learning(ML) models. | Bhatawdekar Ramesh Murlidhar Hoang Nguyen Jamal Rostami XuanNam Bui Danial Jahed Armaghani Prashanth Ragam Edy Tonnizam Mohamad | 2021 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,6: | 6 |

| 3 | Hesperidin as a preventive resistance agent in MCF-7 breast cancer cells line resistance to doxorubicin显示文摘Objective:To evaluate of hesperidin to overcome resistance of doxorubicin in MCF-7 resistant doxorubicin cells(MCF-7/Dox)in cytotoxicity apoptosis and P-glycoprotein(Pgp)expression in combination with doxorubicin.Methods:The cytotoxic properties.50%inhibition concentration(IC_(50))and its combination with doxorubicin in MCF-7 cell lines resistant to doxorubicin(MCF-7/Dox)cells were determined using MTT assay.Apoptosis induction was examined by double staining assay using ethidium bromide-acridine orange.Immunocytochemistry assay was performed to determine the level and localization of Pgp.Results:Single treatment of hesperidin showed cytotoxic activity on MCF-7/Dox cells with IC_(50)value of 11μmol/L.Thus,combination treatment from hesperidin and doxorubicin showed addictive and antagonist effect(CI>1.0).Hesperidin did not increase the apoptotic induction,but decreased the Pgp expressions level when combined with doxorubicin in low concentration.Conclusions:Hesperidin has cytotoxic effect on MCF-7/Dox cells with IC_(50)of 11μmol/L.Hesperidin did not increased the apoptotic induction combined with doxorubicin.Cochemotherapy application of doxorubicin and hesperidin on MCF-7/Dox cells showed synergism effect through inhibition of Pgp expression. | Rifki Febriansah Dyaningtyas Dewi P.P. | 4 | Estimation of the TBM advance rate under hard rock conditions using XGBoost and Bayesian optimization显示文摘The advance rate(AR)of a tunnel boring machine(TBM)under hard rock conditions is a key parameter in the successful implementation of tunneling engineering.In this study,we improved the accuracy of prediction models by employing a hybrid model of extreme gradient boosting(XGBoost)with Bayesian optimization(BO)to model the TBM AR.To develop the proposed models,1286 sets of data were collected from the Peng Selangor Raw Water Transfer tunnel project in Malaysia.The database consists of rock mass and intact rock features,including rock mass rating,rock quality designation,weathered zone,uniaxial compressive strength,and Brazilian tensile strength.Machine specifications,including revolution per minute and thrust force,were considered to predict the TBM AR.The accuracies of the predictive models were examined using the root mean squares error(RMSE)and the coefficient of determination(R^(2))between the observed and predicted yield by employing a five-fold cross-validation procedure.Results showed that the BO algorithm can capture better hyper-parameters for the XGBoost prediction model than can the default XGBoost model.The robustness and generalization of the BO-XGBoost model yielded prominent results with RMSE and R^(2) values of 0.0967 and 0.9806(for the testing phase),respectively.The results demonstrated the merits of the proposed BO-XGBoost model.In addition,variable importance through mutual information tests was applied to interpret the XGBoost model and demonstrated that machine parameters have the greatest impact as compared to rock mass and material properties. | Jian Zhou Yingui Qiu Shuangli Zhu Danial Jahed Armaghani Manoj Khandelwal Edy Tonnizam Mohamad | 2021 | Underground Space2021,6,5: | 4 |
| 5 | Effect of electrical stimulation of the lower esophageal sphincter in gastroesophageal reflux disease patients refractory to proton pump inhibitors显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of lower esophageal sphincter(LES)-electrical stimulation therapy(EST) in a subgroup of patients that reported only partial response to proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) therapy, compared to a group of patient with complete response.METHODS: Bipolar stitch electrodes were laparoscopically placed in the LES and connected to an implantable pulse generator(EndoS tim BV, the Hague, the Netherlands), placed subcutaneously in the anterior abdominal wall. Stimulation at 20 Hz, 215 μsec, 3-8 m Amp in 30 min sessions was delivered starting on day 1 post-implant. Patients were evaluated using gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)-HRQL, symptom diaries; esophageal p H and esophageal manometry before and up to 24 mo after therapy and results were compared between partial and complete responders.RESULTS: Twenty-three patients with GERD on LESEST were enrolled and received continuous per-protocol stimulation through 12 mo and 21 patients completed 24 mo of therapy. Of the 23 patients, 16(8 male, mean age 52.1 ± 12 years) had incomplete response to PPIs prior to LES-EST, while 7 patients(5 male, mean age 52.7 ± 4.7) had complete response to PPIs. In the sub-group with incomplete response to PPIs, median(IQR) composite GERD-HRQL score improved significantly from 9.5(9.0-10.0) at baseline on-PPI and 24.0(20.8-26.3) at baseline off-PPI to 2.5(0.0-4.0) at 12-mo and 0.0(0.0-2.5) at 24-mo follow-up(P < 0.05 compared to on-and off-PPI at baseline). Median(IQR) % 24-h esophageal pH < 4.0 at baseline in this sub-group improved significantly from 9.8%(7.8-11.5) at baseline to 3.0%(1.9-6.3) at 12 mo(P < 0.001) and 4.6%(2.0-5.8) at 24 mo follow-up(P < 0.01). At their 24-mo follow-up, 9/11 patients in this sub-group were completely free of PPI use. These results were comparable to the sub-group that reported complete response to PPI therapy at baseline. No unanticipated implantation or stimulation-related adverse events, or any untoward sensation due to stimulation were reported in either group and LES-EST was safely tolerated by both groups. CONCLUSION: LES-EST is safe and effective in controlling symptoms and esophageal acid exposure in GERD patients with incomplete response to PPIs. | 6 | ICC density predicts bacterial overgrowth in a rat model of post-infectious IBS显示文摘AIM:To investigate the interstitial cells of Cajal(ICC) number using a new rat model.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned to two groups.The first group received gavage with Campylobacter jejuni(C.jejuni) 81-176.The second group was gavaged with placebo.Three months after clearance of Campylobacter from the stool,precise segments of duodenum,jejunum,and ileum were ligated in self-contained loops of bowel that were preserved in anaerobic bags.Deep muscular plexus ICC(DMP-ICC) were quantified by two blinded readers assessing the tissue in a random,coded order.The number of ICC per villus was compared among controls,Campylobacter recovered rats without small intestinal bacterial overgrowth(SIBO),and Campylobacter recovered rats with SIBO.RESULTS:Three months after recovery,27% of rats gavaged with C.jejuni had SIBO.The rats with SIBO had a lower number of DMP-ICC than controls in the jejunum and ileum.Additionally there appeared to be a density threshold of 0.12 DMP-ICC/villus that was associated with SIBO.If ileal density of DMP-ICC was < 0.12 ICC/villus,54% of rats had SIBO compared to 9% among ileal sections with > 0.12(P<0.05).If the density of ICC was < 0.12 DMP-ICC/villus in more than one location of the bowel,88% of these had SIBO compared to 6% in those who did not(P<0.001).CONCLUSION:In this post-infectious rat model,the development of SIBO appears to be associated with a reduction in DMP-ICC.Further study of this rat model might help understand the pathophysiology of postinfectious irritable bowel syndrome. | Sam-Ryong Jee Walter Morales Kimberly Low Christopher Chang Amy Zhu Venkata Pokkunuri Soumya Chatterjee Edy Soffer Jeffrey L Conklin Mark Pimentel | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,29: | 3 |
