| 1 | Sedimentary Facies of Marine Shale Gas Formations in Southern China: The Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation in the Southern Sichuan Basin显示文摘Sedimentary facies is an important factor influencing shale gas accumulation. It not only controlls hydrocarbon generation, but also affects reservoir characteristics and distribution. This paper discusses the Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation in the south of the Sichuan Basin. Outcrop, core, drilling and logging data identify the sedimentary facies of the formation as continental shelf facies, which is divided into two subfacies: an inner shelf and an outer shelf subfacies. These two subfacies can be further divided into seven microfacies: muddy silty shallow shelf, calcareous silty shallow shelf, muddy limy shallow shelf, storm flow, muddy deep shelf, silty muddy deep shelf and contour current microfacies. Vertical and horizontal distribution of microfacies establishes a sedimentation model of the continental shelf facies. Combined with analization or calculation of geochemical, mineralogical, physical and gas-bearing properties of samples, sedimentary microfacies is evaluated using nine parameters: total organic carbon content, effective shale continuous thickness, vitrinite reflectance, kerogen type, mineral components, porosity, permeability, water saturation and gas content. The evaluation revealed that the most favorable facies for shale gas exploration and development are the muddy deep shelf and part of the silty muddy deep shelf microfacies, with TOC more than 2%, siliceous component over 50%, clay less than 30%, porosity more than 3%, water saturation lower than 40%, gas content greater than 2 m3/t. | 2 | Methods for Shale Gas Play Assessment: A Comparison between Silurian Longmaxi Shale and Mississippian Barnett Shale显示文摘Based on field work, organic geochemical analyses and experimental testing, a six-property assessment method for shale gas is proposed. These six properties include organic matter properies, lithofacies, petrophysical properties, gas content, brittleness and local stress field. Due to the features of continuous distribution over a large area and low resource abundance in shale plays, a sweet spot should have these following properties:(a) TOC>2%;(b) brittle minerals content(>40%) and clay minerals(<30%);(c) Ro(>1.1%);(d) porosity(>2%) and permeability(>0.000 1 m D), and(e) effective thickness(30–50 m). Applying these criteria in the Sichuan Basin, the Silurian Longmaxi shale consists of four prospecting sweet spots, including blocks of Changning, Weiyuan, Zhaotong and Fushun-Yongchuan. Although these four blocks have some similarities, different features were usually observed. After comprehensive analyses using the six-property assessment method, the Fushun-Yongan Block ranks the most favorable sweet spot, followed by the Weiyuan Block. For the other two blocks, the Changning Block is better than the Zhaotong Block. | 3 | Recent advances of pharmaceutical crystallization theories显示文摘As a technology of separation and purification,crystallization plays a vital role in diverse industries such as inorganic salt,pharmaceutical,and food industries,which has a huge impact on purity,crystal polymorph,crystal morphology,and particle size distribution of final products.In the past few decades,with the rapid advancement of experimental approaches and molecular simulation methods,considerable advances in the interpretation of crystallization mechanisms have been obtained,promoting the investigation and understanding of crystallization theories greatly.In this review,the advances of pharmaceutical crystallization theories in recent years from the perspectives of nucleation and crystal growth are summarized and discussed.Two thermodynamic models that are helpful in the study of the crystallization mechanisms will be introduced.In this section,the perturbed-chain statistical associating fluid theory(PC-SAFT)and a chemical-potential-gradient model will be introduced,which have been successfully applied in pharmaceutical solubility prediction,the research of dissolution mechanism as well as dissolution kinetics analysis.These two models are expected to be applied to the study of pharmaceutical crystallization process and mechanism.Furthermore,molecular simulation based on the interaction between particles can provide structural information,thermodynamics,and dynamics properties of complex systems at the molecular level,like intermolecular interaction and surface adsorption energies.Application and some shortcomings of molecular simulation,especially molecular dynamics simulation,in the field of pharmaceutical crystallization will be expounded. | Jingyun Weng Yiping Huang Dule Hao Yuanhui Ji | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,4: | 5 |
| 4 | The surface rubbing effect on morphologies of LC droplets and electro-optic properties of flexible PDLC films显示文摘The flexible polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film with threshold voltage V10 and saturation driving voltage V90 as low as 0.34 V/μm and 0.77 V/μm,respectively,has been prepared successfully by polymerization induced phase separation (PIPS). The surface rubbing effect on morphologies of liquid crystals (LC) droplets and electro-optic properties of PDLC films has been studied experimentally and theoretically. We use a CVC (Color Video Camera) and a SEM (Scan Electron Microscope) to detect and characterize morphologies of LC droplets in the net of polymer. The result reveals that almost all the smaller LC droplets exhibit in the rubbing direction uniformly,and the texture of PDLC is similar to that of H-PDLC. Meanwhile,compared with the sample of the non-rubbing disposal,the response time declines evidently by 11.2 ms (i.e.,the rising time τrise) and 27.2 ms (i.e.,the decaying time τdown),and the contrast ratio is improved from 18.5 to 35.9.
