| 1 | Research progress and challenges of two dimensional MoS_2 field effect transistors显示文摘This review paper gives an outline of the recent research progress and challenges of 2D TMDs material MoS_2 based device, that leads to an interesting path towards approaching the electronic applications due to its sizeable band gap. This review presents the improvement of MoS_2 material as an alternate to a silicon channel in a transistor with its excellent energy band gap, thermal conductivity, and exclusive physical properties that are expected to draw attention to focusing on semiconducting devices for most futuristic applications. We discuss the band structure of MoS_2 for a different number of layers with its structure, and various synthesis techniques of the MoS_2 layer are also reviewed. The MoS_2 based field effect transistor has attracted a great deal of attention due to its excellent properties such as mobility, on/off current ratio, and maximum on-current of the devices. The transition of mobility as a function of temperature and thickness dependence are also discussed. However, the mobility of MoS_2 material is large in bulk form and lower in monolayer form. The use of a high-k gate dielectric in MoS_2 FET is used to enhance the mobility of the device. Different metal contact engineering and different doping techniques were deployed to achieve low contact resistance. | 14 | Electronic and optical properties of TiO_2 and its polymorphs by Z-scan method显示文摘TiO2is a material which has attracted considerable attention from the scientific community for its innumerable properties. TiO2 is known to exist in nature in three different crystalline structures: rutile, anatase, and brookite. Anatase and rutile TiO2 films have been widely characterized for their potential applications in solar cells, self-cleaning coatings,and photocatalysis. In the present report, the third-order nonlinear susceptibilities of TiO2 and its polymorphs, anatase,and rutile, prepared by the sol–gel technique followed by heat treatment are investigated using the Z-scan technique at a wavelength of 532 nm with a duration of 7 ns. Imaginary and real values of χ(3)for amorphous, anatase, and rutile are also calculated and found to be 5 ×10-19m2/V2, 27 ×10-19m2/V2, 19 ×10-19m2/V2, respectively. It is found that the values of the optical constants of amorphous TiO2 after heat treatment vary considerably. It is assumed that this could be due to the variation in the electronic structure of TiO2 synchronous with the formation of its polymorphs, anatase, and rutile.Amorphous TiO2 is marked by the localization of the tail states near the band gap, whereas its crystalline counterparts are characterized by completely delocalized tail states. | S.
