| 1 | Studies on the pathogenic bacterium of ulcer disease in Epinephelus awoara显示文摘Studies were conducted to determine the cause of the acute mortality of cage-cultured Epinephelus awoara in the Tong’an Bay of Xiamen, China during the summer of 2002. Predominant bacteria strain TS- 628 was isolated from the diseased grouper. The virulence test confirmed that TS- 628 was the pathogenic bacterium. Biochemical characteristics of the isolates were determined using the automatic bacterial identification system and standard tube tests. To further confirm the identification, a 1 121 bp 16S rRNA gene sequence of the isolate was amplified by PCR, which had been deposited into Genbank (accession number: AY747308). According to the biochemical characteristics and by comparing the 16S rRNA gene homology of the isolate, the pathogenic bacterium was identified as Vibrio harveyi. | 2 | Temperature and substrate availability regulate soil respiration in the tropical mountain rainforests,Hainan Island,China显示文摘Aims Tropical forest plays a key role in global C cycle;however,there are few studies on the C budget in the tropical rainforests in Asia.This study aims to(i)reveal the seasonal patterns of total soil respiration(R_(T)),litter respiration(R_(L))and soil respiration without surface organic litter(R_(NL))in the primary and secondary Asian tropical mountain rainforests and(ii)quantify the effects of soil temperature,soil moisture and substrate availability on soil respiration.Methods The seasonal dynamics of soil CO_(2) efflux was measured by an automatic chamber system(Li-8100),within the primary and secondary tropical mountain rainforests located at the Jianfengling National Reserve in Hainan Island,China.The litter removal treatment was used to assess the contribution of litter to belowground CO_(2) production.Important Findings The annual R_(T) was higher in the primary forest(16.73±0.87 Mg C ha−1)than in the secondary forest(15.10±0.26 Mg C ha−1).The rates of R_(T),R_(NL) and R_(L) were all significantly higher in the hot and wet season(May–October)than those in the cool and dry season(November–April).Soil temperature at 5cm depth could explain 55–61%of the seasonal variation in R_(T),and the temperature sensitivity index(Q_(10))ranked by R_(L)(Q_(10)=3.39)>R_(T)(2.17)>R_(NL)(1.76)in the primary forest and by R_(L)(4.31)>R_(T)(1.86)>R_(NL)(1.58)in the secondary forest.The contribution of R_(L) to R_(T) was 22–23%,while litter input and R_(T) had 1 month time lag.In addition,the seasonal variation of R_(T) was mainly determined by soil temperature and substrate availability.Our findings suggested that global warming and increased substrate availability are likely to cause considerable losses of soil C in the tropical forests. | Zhang Zhou Lai Jiang Enzai Du Huifeng Hu Yide Li Dexiang Chen Jingyun Fang | 2013 | Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,5: | 8 |
| 3 | Involvement of Jasmonate- signaling pathway in the herbivore-induced rice plant defense显示文摘The expression patterns of eight defense- related genes in the herbivore-infested and jasmonate- treated (jasmonic acid, JA and its derivative MeJA) rice leaves were analyzed using RT-PCR. The results showed that Spodoptera litura Fabricius (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) herbi-vory induced the expression of lipoxygenase (LOX) and al-lene oxide synthase (AOS) genes that are involved in the jasmonate-signaling pathway. Moreover, S. litura damage resulted in the expression of farnesyl pyrophosphate syn-thase (FPS), Bowman-birk proteinase inhibitor (BBPI), phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) and other rice defense- related genes that were also induced by aqueous JA treat-ment or gaseous MeJA treatment. These indicated that in rice leaves, the JA-related signaling pathway was involved in the S. litura-induced chemical defense. Mechanical damage and brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens (St錶) (Homoptera: Delphacidae) damage induced the expression of LOX gene, but both treatments did not induce the expression of AOS gene. However, BPH damage induced the expression of acidic pathogen-related protein 1 (PR-1a), Chitinase (PR-3), and PAL genes, which is involved in the salicylate- signaling pathway. | 4 | Facile microwave-assisted ionic liquid synthesis of sphere-like BiOBr hollow and porous nanostructures with enhanced photocatalytic performance显示文摘In this work, two kinds of self-assembled hierarchical BiOBr microcrystals were rapidly synthesized through a simple microwave-assisted route in the presence of reactable ionic liquid 1-hexadecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide([C_(16)mim]Br). These porous and hollow BiOBr microspheres were obtained via a facile solvothermal method with or without polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP), respectively. During the synthetic process, ionic liquid [C_(16)mim]Br played as solvent, reactant and template at the same time. Moreover, the BiOBr hollow and porous microspheres exhibited outstanding photocatalytic activities for the degradation of rhodamine B(RhB) under visible light irradiation. A possible photocatalytic mechanism was also discussed in detail. | 5 | Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for cerebral blood flow and electroencephalogram in patients with acute cerebral infarction Choice for therapeutic occasion显示文摘BACKGROUND: Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy increases blood oxygen content, changes cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cerebral metabolism. Its therapeutic effects on cerebrovascular disease have been fully confirmed, but the occasion for HBO therapy is still unclear. OBJECTIVE: To observe the therapeutic effects of HBO therapy at different time on CBF and electroencephalogram (EEG) in patients with acute cerebral infarction (CI). DESIGN: Randomized controlled trial. SETTING: Department of Neurology, Shidong Hospital, Yangpu District of Shanghai. PARTICIPANTS: Ninety-six inpatients with acute CI, admitted to Department of Neurology, Shidong Hospital, Yangpu District of Shanghai from January 2001 to December 2006, were involved in this experiment. The involved participants met the diagnosis criteria of acute CI and confirmed by skull CT or MRI. They all were patients with moderate CI (16–30 points) according to neurologic deficit score formulated by Chinese Medical Association. Informed consents of detected items and therapeutic regimen were obtained from all the involved participants. They were randomized into two groups with 48 in each: early-stage treatment group and advanced-stage treatment group. Among the 48 patients in the early-stage treatment group, 21 male and 27 female, aged 53–68 years, 22 patients were found with basal ganglia infarction, 10 with brain lobe infarction, 16 with multiple infarction, 27 accompanied with hypertension and 2 accompanied with diabetes mellitus. Among the 48 patients in the advanced-stage treatment group, 23 male and 25 female, aged 52–71 years, 25 patients were found with basal ganglia infarction, 10 with brain lobe infarction, 12 with multiple infarction, 1 with brain stem infarction, 28 accompanied with hypertension and 1 accompanied with diabetes mellitus. METHODS: After admission, patients of two groups received routine drug treatment. ① Patients in the early-stage treatment group and advanced-stage treatment group began to receive HBO therapy within one week of CI and 4 weeks after CI, respectively. The total course of treatment both was 2 weeks. EEG examination was carried out before and after therapy, and CBF was determined with 133Xe inhalation. ② Assessment criteria of curative effects: Basically cured: neurologic symptoms and body signs disappeared, could work and do housework; Markedly effective: score of neurologic deficit was decreased by over 21 points, could manage himself/herself partially; Effective: score of neurologic deficit was decreased by 8 to 12 points; Non-effective: Score was increased or decreased less than 8 points, neurologic deficit was worsened, even died. Total effective rate = (number of cured+number of markedly effective+number of effective)/ number of total cases×100%. ③ t test and Chi-square test were used for comparing the difference of measurement data and enumeration data respectively, and Ridit analysis was used for comparing the difference of clinical curative effects. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Comparison of EEG and CBF of patients from two groups before and after treatment. ② Comparison of post-treatment neurologic deficit of patients between two groups. RESULTS: All the involved 96 patients with CI participated in the final analysis. ① Clinical symptoms of patients from two groups after therapy were significantly improved as compared with those before therapy, and curative effects of early treatment group were better than those of advanced treatment group (U =1.99, P < 0.05). ②After treatment, CBF in each region of brains, except for that in parietal lobe of patients in the advanced-stage treatment group, was significantly improved (P < 0.05–0.01); The improvement of CBF of patients in the early-stage treatment group was more obvious than that in the early-stage treatment group (P < 0.05–0.01). ③ The abnormal rate of EEF of patients from early-stage treatment group and advanced-stagetreatment group before treatment was 94% and 96%, respectively. | 10 | Responses of soil CH_(4) fluxes to nitrogen addition in two tropical montane rainforests in southern China显示文摘Background:Atmospheric nitrogen(N)deposition is projected to increase in the next few decades,which may have a marked impact on soil-atmosphere CH_(4) fluxes.However,the impacts of increased atmospheric N depositions on soil CH_(4) flux in tropical rainforests are still poorly understood.From January 2015 to December 2018,a field experiment was conducted in a primary tropical montane rainforest(PTMR)and a secondary tropical montane rainforest(STMR)in southern China to quantify the impact of N additions at four levels(N0:0 kg N⋅ha^(-1)⋅year^(-1);N25:25 kg N⋅ha^(-1)⋅year^(-1);N50:50 kg N⋅ha^(-1)⋅year^(-1);N100:100 kg N⋅ha^(-1)⋅year^(-1)on soil CH_(4) flux.Results:Four years of measurements showed clear seasonal variations in CH_(4) flux in all treatment plots for both forest types(PTMR and STMR),with lower rates of soil CH_(4) uptake during the wet season and higher rates of soil CH_(4) uptake during the dry season.Soil CH_(4) uptake rates were significantly and negatively correlated with both soil temperature and soil moisture for both forest types.Annual CH_(4) uptake for the N0 plots from the PTMR and STMR soils were2.20 and1.98 kg N⋅ha^(-1)⋅year^(-1),respectively.At the PTMR site,mean CH_(4) uptake compared with the N0 treatment was reduced by 19%,29%,and 36%for the N25,N50,and N100 treatments,respectively.At the STMR site,mean CH_(4) uptake compared with the N0 treatment was reduced by 15%,18%,and 38%for the N25,N50,and N100 treatments,respectively.High level N addition had a stronger inhibitory impact on soil CH_(4) uptake than did the low level N addition.Conclusion:Our data suggest that soil CH_(4) uptake in tropical rainforests is sensitive to N deposition.If atmospheric N deposition continues to increase in the future,the soil CH_(4) sink strength of tropical rainforests may weaken further. | Fangtao Wu Changhui Peng Chuanyao Wang Huai Chen Weiguo Liu Zhihao Liu Hui Wang Hong Li Dexiang Chen Yide Li Shirong Liu | 2022 | Forest Ecosystems2022,9,3: | 1 |

In this study,a genome-wide association analysis was used to detect key single-nucleotide polymorphisms( SNPs) associated with fast chlorophyll fluorescence parameters using more than 560 000 SNPs in a maize panel consisting of 404 inbred lines. In four field environments,41 SNPs were detected to be associated with five fast chlorophyll fluorescence parameters,including ABS / CS_o,ET_o/ CS_o,TR_o/ ABS,ET_o/ TRoand PIcs. Among these identified SNPs,8,6,18,4 and 5 were significantly associated with ET_o/ TR_o,ABS/CS_o,TRo/ ABS,ET_o/ CS_oand PIcs,respectively. | 17 | Influence of sulfur on inclusion and pitting resistance of 316L stainless steel显示文摘The effect of the sulfur content on the microstructure and inclusions of 316 L stainless steel was studied by optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and image analysis,and the effect of sulfur on the pitting corrosion resistance of 316 L stainless steel was studied by conducting ferric chloride immersion test and plotting the electrochemical polarization curves.The results show that the added sulfur is mainly in the form of manganese sulfide inclusions in 316 L stainless steel.With increases in the sulfur content,the grade and percentage of the sulfide in the steel gradually increased,and its distribution became increasingly dense.When the sulfur content exceeded0.1%,the number of sulfide inclusions in the sample increased sharply.When the sulfur content reached 0.199%,the sulfides in the steel were primarily in spindle form,and a large number of spindles were found to refine the grain size of 316 L stainless steel.The pitting corrosion weight loss rate of 316 L stainless steel increased with increases in the sulfur content,while the pitting potential gradually decreased.However,the pitting potential of 316 L stainless steel rebounded when the sulfur content reached 0.199%,which may be related to the grain refinement of the test steel and requires further study. | CHEN Dexiang QIANG Shaoming | 2020 | Baosteel Technical Research2020,14,3: | 0 |

| 19 | Microbiome-metabolome analysis reveals cervical lesion alterations显示文摘Cervical cancer(CC)continues to be one of the most common cancers among females worldwide.It takes a few years or even decades for CC to arise in a minority of women with cervical precancers.An increasing corpus of studies today indicates that local microecology and carcinogenesis are intimately related.To investigate the changes in cericovaginal microecology with the development of cervical cancer,we performed 16S rDNA sequencing and metabolomic analysis in cericovaginal fluid from 10 LSIL patients,10 HSIL patients,10 CC patients and 10 healthy controls to reveal the differential flora and metabolites during cervical carcinogenesis.Carcinogenesis is associated with alterations in microbiome diversity,individual taxa,and functions with notable changes in Lactobacillus,Prevotella and Aquabacterium,as well as in cervicovaginal metabolites that correlate with cervicovaginal microbial patterns.Increased bacterial diversity and a decline in the relative abundance of Lactobacillus,the dominant species in the cericovaginal flora,are observed when cervical lesions advance.According to KEGG pathway enrichment analysis,lipids and organic acids change as cervical cancer progresses,and the phenylalanine,tyrosine,and tryptophan biosynthesis pathway is essential for the development of cervical cancer.Our results reveal that microbic and metabolomic profiling is capable of distinguishing CC from precancer and highlights potential biomarkers for the early detection of cervical dysplasia.These differential microorganisms and metabolites are expected to become a potential tool to assist in the diagnosis of cervical cancer. | Hanjie Xu Lou Liu Feng Xu Min Liu Yuexiao Song Jiale Chen Huiying Zhan Ye Zhang Dexiang Xu Yu Chen Mudan Lu Daozhen Chen | 2022 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,10: | 0 |
| 20 | Liver dysfunction on admission worsens clinical manifestations and outcomes of coronavirus disease 2019显示文摘Background:Liver dysfunction was common in coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),but its association with clinical features and poor prognosis has not been fully delineated.Our study aimed to determine the role of liver dysfunction in COVID-19 and understand the predictors for worse outcomes in patients with liver injury.Methods:We conducted this multicenter,retrospective study in five designated hospitals for COVID-19 manage-ment.Laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients were enrolled and classified into the normal live function group and liver dysfunction group according to liver enzymes,bilirubin,and albumin on admission,respectively.Data of baseline,clinical manifestations,and outcomes were collected and compared in the paired groups.Results:Of the 649 included COVID-19 patients,200(30.8%),69(10.6%),and 267(41.1%)patients had elevated liver enzymes,increased bilirubin,and low-level albumin,respectively.Fever,cough,and dyspnea were the most common symptoms and showed an increased proportion in the liver dysfunction group.Compared with patients in the normal liver function group,patients with liver dysfunction manifested decreased lymphocytes,higher level of leukocytes,neutrophils,inflammatory indicators,and cytokines,as well as more severe impairment in kidney function and myocardium.They were more likely to show bilateral involvement and more pulmonary lobes involved according to chest images.With increased proportion of patients who developed severe/critical conditions and needed mechanical ventilation and systemic glucocorticoid therapy,patients with liver dysfunc-tion on admission showed significantly higher in-hospital mortality.Moreover,cardiac troponin I≥1.5 ng/mL was identified as an independent mortality predictor in the elevated liver enzymes group.Conclusion:Patients with liver dysfunction on admission had worse clinical manifestation,and resulted in higher rate of severe/critical type,receiving mechanical ventilation and in-hospital mortality. | Fangying Lu Rong Chen Kandi Xu Jie Huang Dexiang Yang Tao Bai Yusang Xie Yun Ling Kui Liu Wei Du Jiayang Yan Huihuang Lin Jian Li Yun Feng Min Zhou Yi Guo | 2023 | Chinese Medical Journal Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine2023,1,3: | 0 |
