| 1 | Rates of litter decomposition in terrestrial ecosystems:global patterns and controlling factors显示文摘Aims We aim to construct a comprehensive global database of litter decomposition rate(k value)estimated by surface floor litterbags,and investigate the direct and indirect effects of impact factors such as geographic factors(latitude and altitude),climatic factors(mean annual tempePlrature,MAT;mean annual precipitation,MAP)and litter quality factors(the contents of N,P,K,Ca,Mg and C:N ratio,lignin:N ratio)on litter decomposition.Methods We compiled a large data set of litter decomposition rates(k values)from 110 research sites and conducted simple,multiple regression and path analyses to explore the relationship between the k values and impact factors at the global scale.Important findings The k values tended to decrease with latitude(LAT)and lignin content(LIGN)of litter but increased with temperature,precipitation and nutrient concentrations at the large spatial scale.Single factor such as climate,litter quality and geographic variable could not explain litter decomposition rates well.However,the combination of total nutrient(TN)elements and C:N accounted for 70.2%of the variation in the litter decomposition rates.The combination of LAT,MAT,C:N and TN accounted for 87.54%of the variation in the litter decomposition rates.These results indicate that litter quality is the most important direct regulator of litter decomposition at the global scale.This data synthesis revealed significant relationships between litter decomposition rates and the combination of climatic factor(MAT)and litter quality(C:N,TN).The global-scale empirical relationships developed here are useful for a better understanding and modeling of the effects of litter quality and climatic factors on litter decomposition rates. | Deqiang Zhang Dafeng Hui Yiqi Luo Guoyi Zhou | 2008 | Journal of Plant Ecology2008,1,2: | 99 |
| 2 | Soil temperature and moisture sensitivities of soil CO_2 efflux before and after tillage in a wheat field of Loess Plateau,China显示文摘As a conventional farming practice,tillage has lasted for thousands of years in Loess Plateau,China.Although recent studies show that tillage is a prominent culprit to soil carbon loss in croplands,few studies have investigated the influences of tillage on the responses of soil CO2 efflux(SCE) to soil temperature and moisture.Using a multi-channel automated CO2 efflux chamber system,we measured SCE in situ continuously before and after the conventional tillage in a rain fed wheat field of Loess Plateau,China.The changes in soil temperature and moisture sensitivities of SCE,denoted by the Q10 value and linear regression slope respectively,were compared in the same range of soil temperature and moisture before and after the tillage.The results showed that,after the tillage,SCE increased by 1.2-2.2 times;the soil temperature sensitivity increased by 36.1%-37.5%;and the soil moisture sensitivity increased by 140%-166%.Thus,the tillage-induced increase in SCE might partially be attributed to the increases in temperature and moisture sensitivity of SCE. | Hongxing Zhang Xiaoke Wang Zongwei Feng Junzhu Pang Fei Lu Zhiyun Ouyang Hua Zheng Wenzhao Liu Dafeng Hui | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1: | 7 |
| 3 | Development and experimental validation of an automatic parking brake system with less driveline sensor显示文摘Electrical Parking Brake(EPB) has been popularly used in passenger cars over the past ten years. With the help of the several kinds of sensors mounted in driveline for the total traction force estimation, EPB can obtain well performance on drive-off assistance and automatic parking brake. Furthermore, its AUTOHOLD function can realize automatic parking brake and ease the driver. However, given that the higher cost and complexity of this traction force estimation method based on the driveline sensors and its slower response resulted by applying maximum parking force for safety parking while driving off, a novel automatic parking brake system without these transmission system sensors, such as clutch position sensor for the cars with manual transmission, is proposed in this paper, including its control scheme and application test. Firstly, the indirect judgement method of the appropriate moment to release the parking brake, which is based on the car pitch moment when it drives off, is introduced according to the force analysis when the car is ready to go. Then a pragmatic mass estimation method for proper brake force calculation is proposed for improving the drive-off performance. In addition, for the convenience and drivability of skillful driver, as well as the system reliability, a mechanical redundant design to reserve the conventional handbrake lever is also described. The curing condition of composites was at a cure temperature of 80 ℃ for 3h in a drying oven. The characteristics of 2.5D(shallow bend-joint and deep straight-joint) structure and 3D orthogonal structure were compared. The failure behavior, flexural strength, and microstructures of both composites were investigated. It was found that the flexural property was closely related to undulation angle θ. | 8 | A novel chemotherapy strategy for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: a multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:Chemotherapy is a common treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma,but the effect is not satisfactory.The study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the effects of adding all-trans-retinoic acid(ATRA)to infusional fluorouracil,leucovorin,and oxaliplatin(FOLFOX4)for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:We extracted the data of patients with advanced HCC who underwent systemic chemotherapy using FOLFOX4 or ATRA plus FOLFOX4 at the Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital,First Hospital of Jilin University,and Zhejiang Sian International Hospital and retrospectively compared for overall survival.The Cox proportional hazards model was used to calculate the hazard ratios for overall survival and disease progression after controlling for age,sex,and disease stage.Results:From July 2013 to July 2018,111 patients with HCC were included in this study.The median survival duration was 14.8 months in the ATRA plus FOLFOX4 group and 8.2 months in the FOLFOX4 only group(P<0.001).The ATRA plus FOLFOX4 group had a significantly longer median time to progression compared with the FOLFOX4 group(3.6 monthsvs.1.8 months,P<0.001).Hazard ratios for overall survival and disease progression were 0.465(95%confidence interval:0.298–0.726;P=0.001)and 0.474(0.314–0.717;P<0.001)after adjusting for potential confounders,respectively.Conclusion:ATRA plus FOLFOX4 significantly improves the overall survival and time to disease progression in patients with advanced HCC. | Juxian Sun Chang Liu Jie Shi Nanya Wang Dafeng Jiang Feifei Mao Jingwen Gu Liping Zhou Li Shen Wan Yee Lau Shuqun Cheng | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,19: | 2 |
| 9 | Biotinylated dextran amine anterograde tracing of the canine corticospinal tract显示文摘In this study, biotinylated dextran amine (BDA) was microinjected into the left cortical motor area of the canine brain. Fluorescence microscopy results showed that a large amount of BDA-labeled pyramidal cells were visible in the left cortical motor area after injection. In the left medulla oblongata, the BDA-labeled corticospinal tract was evenly distributed, with green fluorescence that had a clear boundary with the surrounding tissue. The BDA-positive corticospinal tract entered into the right lateral funiculus of the spinal cord and descended into the posterior part of the right lateral funiculus, close to the posterior horn, from cervical to sacral segments. There was a small amount of green fluorescence in the sacral segment. The distribution of BDA labeling in the canine central nervous system was consistent with the course of the corticospinal tract. Fluorescence labeling for BDA gradually diminished with time after injection. | 10 | Effect of a Hybrid Micro/Nano-integrated Titanium Surface on Behavior of Rat Osteoblasts显示文摘The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of a new combined micro/nanoscale implant surface feature on osteoblasts' behaviors including cell morphology, adhesion, proliferation, differentiation, and mineralization in vitro. A new micro/nano-hybrid topography surface was fabricated on commercial pure titanium(Cp Ti) by a two-step sandblasted acid-etching and subsequent alkali-and heattreatment(SA-AH). The conventional sandblasted/acid-etching(SA) treatment and alkali and heat(AH) treatment were also carried out on the Cp Ti as controls. Surface microstructures of the Ti disc samples were assessed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The neonatal rat calvaria-derived osteoblasts were seeded on these discs and the initial cell morphology was evaluated by SEM and immunofluorescence. Initial adhesion of the cells was then assayed by DAPI staining at 1, 2, and 4 h after seeding. The Cell Counting Kit-8(CCact K8) assay, gene expression of osteoblastic markers(ALP, Col 1, OCN, BSP, OSX, Cbfα1) and Alizarin Red S staining assays were monitored respectively for cell proliferations, differentiation and mineralization. The results show significant differences in osteoblast's behaviors on the four kinds of Ti surfaces. Compared with Cp Ti surface, the SA and AH treatment can significantly promote cell adhesion, differentiation and mineralization of osteoblasts. In particular, the combined SA and AH treatments exhibit synergistic effects in comparison with the treatment of SA and AH individually, and are more favorable for stimulating a series of osteogenous responses from cell adhesion to mineralization of osteoblasts. | 11 | Estrogen inhibits lipid peroxidation after hypoxic-ischemic brain damage in neonatal rats显示文摘Sprague-Dawley neonatal rats within 7 days after birth were used in this study. The left common carotid artery was occluded and rats were housed in an 8% O2 environment for 2 hours to establish a hypoxic-ischemic brain damage model. 17β-estradiol (1 × 10-5 M) was injected into the rat abdominal cavity after the model was successfully established. The left hemisphere was obtained at 12, 24, 48, 72 hours after operation. Results showed that malondialdehyde content in the left brain of neonatal rats gradually increased as modeling time prolonged, while malondialdehyde content of 17β-estrodial-treated rats significantly declined by 24 hours, reached lowest levels at 48 hours, and then peaked at 72 hours after injury. Nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide phosphate histochemical staining showed the nitric oxide synthase-positive cells and fibers dyed blue/violet and were mainly distributed in the cortex, hippocampus and medial septal nuclei. The number of nitric oxide synthase-positive cells peaked at 48 hours and significantly decreased after 17β-estrodial treatment. | 14 | Engineering Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) with sulfur vacancy and heterostructure as an efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst for water splitting显示文摘Defect and interface engineering have been recognized as efficient strategies for developing high-performance electrocatalysts.However,it is still challenging to couple defect and interface engineering in transition metal sulfides and understand their dynamic evolution process during electrocatalysis.Herein,we developed one-step pyrolysis of bimetallic sulfide to construct S vacancy-rich Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) heterostructure by controlling the critical decomposition temperature.The as-synthesized Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) exhibits excellent bifunctional electrocatalytic performance,with a low overpotential of 99 and 200 mV at 10 mA cm−2 towards hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)in 1.0 mol/L KOH electrolyte,respectively.A symmetric two-electrode cell with Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) delivered a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) at a low voltage of 1.43 V and showed long-term stability for 200 h.A series of in/ex-situ techniques revealed that the electrochemical reconfiguration only appeared in the OER process,resulting in the CoOOH/CuO and SO42−species promoting OER performance.Meanwhile,the S vacancy and heterostructure interface in Cu_(1.96)S/Co_(9)S_(8) were proved to optimize the electronic structure and the adsorption of intermediates for HER by density function theory(DFT)simulations.This work provides a promising strategy to construct metal sulfides with rich defects and heterogeneous interfaces and understand their dynamic evolution process for electrochemical storage and conversion devices. | Yuanhua Xiao Ya Shen Dangcheng Su Shiwei Zhang Jinlin Yang Dafeng Yan Shaoming Fang Xuezhao Wang | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,23: | 1 |
| 15 | Multi-mode energy management strategy for hydraulic hub-motor auxiliary system based on improved global optimization algorithm显示文摘Heavy commercial vehicles equipped with a hydraulic hub-motor auxiliary system(HHMAS)often operate under complex road conditions.Selecting appropriate operating mode and realizing reasonable energy management to match unpredictable road conditions are the keys to the driving performance and fuel economy of HHMAS.Therefore,a multi-mode energy management strategy(MM-EMS)based on improved global optimization algorithm is proposed in this study for HHMAS.First,an improved dynamic programming(DP)algorithm for HHMAS is developed.This improved DP algorithm considers the effect of SOC and vehicle speed,thereby preventing the calculation results from falling into local optimization.This algorithm also reduces the dimension of the control variable data grid,and the calculation time is reduced by 35%without affecting the accuracy.Second,a MM-EMS with hierarchical control is proposed.This strategy extracts the optimal control rules from the results of the improved DP algorithm.Then it divides the system’s operating region into two types,namely,single-mode working region and mixedmode working region.In the single-mode working region,mode switching is realized through fixed thresholds.In the mixedmode working region,a linear quadratic regulator(LQR)is adopted to determine a target mode and realize SOC tracking control.Finally,the designed MM-EMS is verified separately in offline simulation and hardware-in-the-loop(HIL)under actual vehicle test cycles.Simulation results show that the results between HIL and offline simulation are largely coincidence.Besides,in comparison with the engine optimal control strategy,the designed MM-EMS can achieve an approximate optimal control,with oil savings of 3.96%. | ZENG XiaoHua WU ZiQiao WANG Yue SONG DaFeng LI GuangHan | 2020 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,10: | 1 |

| 17 | Disposition and fate of polyoxyethylene glycerol ricinoleate as determined by LC-Q-TOF MS coupled with MS^(ALL),SWATH and HR MS/MS techniques显示文摘Polyoxyethylene glycerol ricinoleate(PGR) serves as a solubilizer/emulsifier that is commonly used in pharmaceutical formulations despite being associated with severe anaphylactoid hypersensitivity reactions.Cremophor EL?(CrEL) is the most representative PGR produced from reacting ethylene oxide with castor oil.To help clarify the cause of side effects and potentially improve the safety of PGR-based drug delivery vehicle,we have developed separate but related analytical methods for the quantitation of CrEL and its main metabolites,glycerol ethoxylate(GE) and ricinoleic acid(RA).Since CrEL and GE are highly disperse mixtures of polymers that are not amenable to analysis by conventional liquid chromatographytandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS),we used liquid chromatography-triple-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry(LC-Q-TOF MS) combined with product ion data acquisition by MSALLand sequential window acquisition of all theoretical fragments mass spectrometry(SWATH MS),respectively to perform the analysis.In contrast,RA is a single molecular entity that could be readily analyzed using conventional LC-HR MS/MS.Selection of specific fragment ions for CrEL,GE,RA and their internal standards enabled a precise quantitation of such a complex analytes system in rat plasma after a single and simple sample preparation method.Assay validation indicated linearity for CrEL,GE and RA over the concentration ranges 0.2~20.0 μg/mL,0.1~10.0 μg/mL and 0.1~20.0 μg/m L,respectively with satisfactory results for other validation parameters.A subsequent pharmacokinetic study involving single intravenous 200 mg/kg injections of CrEL to rats showed the methods enable comprehensive and high throughput quantitation of CrEL and its metabolites in a biological matrix.Our combination of assays provides effective application in investigating the cause of the hypersensitivity reaction of PGR and potentially to improve its safety for using as a vehicle in drug formulations. | Ruifeng Bai Dong Sun Yuqin Shan Zhiqiong Guo Dafeng Chu John Paul Fawcett Jingkai Gu | 2021 | Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10: | 1 |
