| 1 | Optimization of parameters on photocatalytic degradation of chloramphenicol using TiO_2 as photocatalyist by response surface methodology显示文摘The experimental design methodology was applied for modeling and optimizing the operation parameters on photocatalytic degradation of chloramphenicol (CAP) using TiO 2 as photocatalyst in a photoreactor. Three experimental parameters (including pH, TiO 2 concentration and CAP initial concentration) were adopted to obtain the preliminary information. The multivariate experimental design was employed to establish a quadratic model as a functional relationship between the degradation rate of CAP and three experimental parameters. The interaction effects and optimal parameters were obtained by using Design Expert software. The optimal values of the operation parameters under the related constraint conditions were found at pH 6.4, TiO 2 concentration of 0.94 g/L and CAP initial concentration of 19.97 mg/L, respectively. The degradation rate of CAP approached 85.97% under optimal conditions. The regression analysis with R 2 value of 0.9519 had a good agreement between the experimental results and the predictive values. | 2 | Photodegradation of Norfloxacin in aqueous solution containing algae显示文摘Photodegradation of Norfloxacin in aqueous solution containing algae under a medium pressure mercury lamp(15 W,λ max = 365 nm) was investigated.Results indicated that the photodegradation of Norfloxacin could be induced by the algae in the heterogeneous algaewater systems.The photodegradation rate of Norfloxacin increased with increasing algae concentration,and was greatly influenced by the temperature and pH of solution.Meanwhile,the cooperation action of algae and Fe(III),and the ultrasound were beneficial to photodegradation of Norfloxacin.The degradation kinetics of Norfloxacin was found to follow the pseudo zero-order reaction in the suspension of algae.In addition,we discussed the photodegradation mechanism of Norfloxacin in the suspension of algae.This work will be helpful for understanding the photochemical degradation of antibiotics in aqueous environment in the presence of algae,for providing a new method to deal with antibiotics pollution. | Junwei Zhang Dafang Fu Jilong Wu | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,4: | 10 |
| 3 | Reducing nitrogen runoff from paddy fields with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi under different fertilizer regimes显示文摘Nitrogen(N) runoff from paddy fields serves as one of the main sources of water pollution. Our aim was to reduce N runoff from paddy fields by fertilizer management and inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF). In northeast China, Shuangcheng city in Heilongjiang province, a field experiment was conducted, using rice provided with 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%,and 100% of the local norm of fertilization(including N, phosphorus and potassium), with or without inoculation with Glomus mosseae. The volume, concentrations of total N(TN),dissolved N(DN) and particulate N(PN) of runoff water were measured. We found that the local norm of fertilization led to 18.9 kg/ha of N runoff during rice growing season, with DN accounting for 60%–70%. We also found that reduction in fertilization by 20% cut down TN runoff by 8.2% while AMF inoculation decreased N runoff at each fertilizer level and this effect was inhibited by high fertilization. The combination of inoculation with AMF and 80% of the local norm of fertilization was observed to reduce N runoff by 27.2%. | 5 | Effect of chlorine content of chlorophenols on their adsorption by mesoporous SBA-15显示文摘Studies on the effect of the chlorine content of chlorophenols(CPs) on their adsorption from aqueous solution by mesoporous SBA-15 are important in understanding the mechanisms of CP adsorption.In this study,three CPs with different degrees of chlorine content(i.e.,2-chlorophenol,2,6-dichlorophenol and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol) were investigated.The effects of parameters such as temperature and solution pH were studied.The results showed that CP adsorption by SBA-15 increased with increasing number of chlorine substituents and depended strongly on the temperature and solution pH.Thermodynamic parameters such as Gibbs free energy change(G 0),enthalpy change(H 0) and entropy change(S 0) were also calculated.By comparison of the adsorption coefficient of CPs with varying physical-chemical properties(size,hydrophobicity and electron density),we propose that hydrophobic interactions between CPs and the SBA-15 surface,as well as electron donor-acceptor(EDA) complexes between oxygen of the siloxane surface of SBA-15(e-donor) and the π-system of the CPs(e-acceptor),were dominant adsorption mechanisms. | Qingdong Qin Ke Liu Dafang Fu Haiying Gao | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,8: | 1 |

| 13 | Energy loss of tens keV charged particles traveling in the hot dense carbon plasma显示文摘The energy loss of charged particles, including electrons, protons, and α-particles with tens keV initial energy E0, traveling in the hot dense carbon(C) plasma for densities from 2.281 to 22.81 g/cm3 and temperatures from 400 to 1500 eV is systematically and quantitatively studied by using the dimensional continuation method. The behaviors of different charged particles are readily distinguishable from each other. Firstly, because an ion is thousands times heavier than an electron, the penetration distance of the electron is much longer than that of proton and α-particle traveling in the plasma. Secondly, most energy of electron projectile with E0 < 100 keV deposits into the electron species of C plasma, while for the cases of proton and α-particle with E0 < 100 keV,about more than half energy transfers into the ion species of C plasma.
