2Osteoclast-derived apoptotic bodies couple bone resorption and formation in bone remodeling显示文摘Bone remodeling is precisely coordinated by bone resorption and formation.Apoptotic osteoclasts generate large amounts of apoptotic bodies(ABs)marking the end of the bone resorption phase,whereas the functions of osteoclast-derived ABs remain largely unknown.Here,we identified the molecular profile of ABs derived from osteoclasts at distinct differentiation stages and investigated their corresponding functions.ABs were isolated from apoptotic bone marrow macrophages,preosteoclasts,and mature osteoclasts induced by staurosporine.Proteomic signature analysis with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry suggested marked protein cargo differences among the different ABs.Further bioinformatic analysis showed that the proteomic signatures of the ABs were highly similar to those of their parental cells.Functionally,pOC-ABs induced endothelial progenitor cell differentiation and increased CD31hiEmcnhi endothelial cell formation in a murine bone defect model via their PDGF-BB cargo.mOC-ABs induced osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells and facilitated osteogenesis via RANKL reverse signaling.In summary,we mapped the detailed proteomic landscapes of ABs derived from osteoclasts and showed that their potential biological roles are important in coupling bone formation with resorption during bone remodeling.Qinyu Ma Mengmeng Liang Yutong Wu Fei Luo Zaisong Ma Shiwu Dong Jianzhong Xu Ce Dou 2021Bone Research2021,9,1:8
3Comparison of microendoscopic discectomy and open discectomy for single-segment lumbar disc herniation显示文摘BACKGROUND Lumbar disc herniation is a common disease.Endoscopic treatment may have more advantages than traditional surgery.AIM To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of microendoscopic discectomy(MED)and open discectomy with lamina nucleus enucleation in the treatment of singlesegment lumbar intervertebral disc herniation.METHODS Ninety-six patients who were operated at our hospital were selected for this study.Patients with single-segment lumbar disc herniation were admitted to the hospital from March 2018 to March 2019 and were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 48 cases in each group.The former group underwent lumbar discectomy and the latter underwent laparotomy and nucleus pulpectomy.Surgical effects were compared between the two groups.RESULTS In terms of surgical indicators,the observation group had a longer operation time,shorter postoperative bedtime and hospital stay,less intraoperative blood loss,and smaller incision length than the control group(P<0.05).The excellent recovery rate did not differ significantly between the observation group(93.75%)and the control group(91.67%).Visual analogue scale pain scores were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group at 1 d,3 d,1 mo,and 6 mo after surgery(P<0.05).The incidence of complications was significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group(6.25%vs 22.92%,P<0.05).CONCLUSION Both MED and open discectomy can effectively improve single-segment lumbar disc herniation,but MED is associated with less trauma,less bleeding,and a lower incidence of complications.Jiu-Ya Pang Fei Tan Wei-Wei Chen Cui-Hua Li Shu-Ping Dou Jing-Ran Guo Li-Ying Zhao 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,14:4
4A precise time measurement evaluation board for a radiography system of high-Z materials显示文摘The time resolution of a radiography system for high-Z materials shall be at least 1 ns, hence the need of a time measurement system with a resolution of about 100 ps. In this paper, a Time Measurement Evaluation Board (TMEB) is developed to meet the need. It is based on the time-to-digital converter of ACAM TDC-GP2. 5Health diagnosis of concrete dams using hybrid FWA with RBF-based surrogate model显示文摘Structural health monitoring is important to ensuring the health and safety of dams.An inverse analysis method based on a novel hybrid fireworks algorithm (FWA) and the radial basis function (RBF) model is proposed to diagnose the health condition of concrete dams.The damage of concrete dams is diagnosed by identifying the elastic modulus of materials using the displacement changes at different reservoir water levels.FWA is a global optimization intelligent algorithm.The proposed hybrid algorithm combines the FWA with the pattern search algorithm, which has a high capability for local optimization.Examples of benchmark functions and pseudo-experiment examples of concrete dams illustrate that the hybrid FWA improves the convergence speed and robustness of the original algorithm.To address the time consumption problem, an RBF-based surrogate model was established to replace part of the finite element method in inverse analysis.Numerical examples of concrete dams illustrate that the use of an RBF-based surrogate model significantly reduces the computation time of inverse analysis with little influence on identification accuracy.The presented hybrid FWA combined with the RBF network can quickly and accurately determine the elastic modulus of materials, and then determine the health status of the concrete dam.Si-qi Dou Jun-jie Li Fei Kang 2019Water Science and Engineering2019,12,3:3
6Bone-targeted pH-responsive cerium nanoparticles for anabolic therapy in osteoporosis显示文摘Antiresorptive drugs are widely used for treatment of osteoporosis and cancer bone metastasis,which function mainly through an overall inhibition of osteoclast.However,not all osteoclasts are“bone eaters”;preosteoclasts(pOCs)play anabolic roles in bone formation and angiogenesis through coupling with osteoblasts and secreting platelet derived growth factor-BB(PDGF-BB).In this study,a bone-targeted pH-responsive nanomaterial was designed for selectively eliminating mature osteoclasts(mOCs)without affecting pOCs.Biocompatible cerium nano-system(CNS)was guided to the acidic extracellular microenvironment created by mOCs and gained oxidative enzymatic activity.Oxidative CNS decreased the viability of mOCs through accumulating intracellular reactive oxygen species and enhancing calcium oscillation.Non-acid secreting anabolic pOCs were thus preserved and kept producing PDGF-BB,which lead to mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis and endothelial progenitor cell angiogenesis via PI3K-Akt activated focal adhesion kinase.In treating osteoporotic ovariectomized mice,CNS showed better protective effects compare with the current first line antiresorptive drug due to the better anabolic effects marked by higher level of bone formation and vascularization.We provided a novel anabolic therapeutic strategy in treating bone disorders with excessive bone resorption.Ce Dou Jianmei Li Jian He Fei Luo Tao Yu Qijie Dai Yueqi Chen Jianzhong Xu Xiaochao Yang Shiwu Dong 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,12:3

8Outcome of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in Beijing显示文摘Aim:We aimed to investigate the association between bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)and survival of patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrests(OHCA)in Beiing.Methods:This observational study analyzed adult patients with OHCA treated by the Beiing emergency medical service(EMS)from January 2013 to December 2017.Data were collected in a Utstein style with a 1-year follow-up and a primary outcome 01 survival to hospital discharge.Secondary outcomes were return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC),survival to admission,favorable neurological outcome at hospital discharge,and survival and favorable neurological outcomes of up to 1 year.Results:A total of 5016 patients with OHCA from Beiing's urban area were recorded by EMS,wherein 765 patients(15.25%)underwent bystander CPR.The data were propensity score-matched forage,sex,location,witness,aetiology,initial rhythm,and call to EMS arrival to compare the difference between the occurrence and nonoccurrence of bystander CPR.The survival upon the discharge of patients who experienced bystander CPR was superior to that of patients who did not receive bystander CPR(3.7%vs 1.2%,respectively;P<0.001).Moreover,patients with OHCA resuscitated with bystander CPR achieved better outcomes of ROSC,survival to admission,favorable neurological outcome at hospital discharge,survival and favorable neurological outcome after 1 year compared with those who were not resuscitated with bystander CPR.Conclusion:Survival and neu rological outcome of patients who underwent bystander CPR was better than those who underwent nonbystander CPR in Beiing.However,the rate of bystander CPR was low.Xian Shi Yang Wu Haibin Li Shengkui Ma Dou Li Ding Gao Hao Cui Changxiao Yu Song Yang Ziren Tang Fei Shao 2021Emergency and Critical Care Medicine2021,1,2:2

11Realization of warm white light emitting in single phase Gd(P_(x)V_(1−x))O_(4):y at% Sm^(3+),1 at% Bi^(3+) phosphor显示文摘A series of single phase,warm white light emitting phosphors,Gd(P_(x)V_(1−x))O_(4):y at%Sm^(3+),with 1 at%Bi^(3+) doping concentration were synthesized by high temperature solid state method in this work.The experimental results indicate broadband cyan emission of Bi^(3+)and characteristic orange-red emission of Sm^(3+)can be effectively tuned by changing the ratios of PO^(3−)_(4)/VO^(3−)_(4) in Gd(P_(x)V_(1−x))O_(4):1 at%Sm^(3+),1 at%Bi^(3+),and the energy transfer process among VO^(3−)_(4),Sm^(3+),Bi^(3+) also can be adjusted.Based on this,warm white light emitting can be realized by further optimizing the doping concentration of Sm^(3+) in the phosphors.At 423 K,the PL intensity of Gd(P_(0.7)V_(0.3))O_(4):2 at%Sm^(3+),1 at%Bi^(3+) remains~84.3%of the initial value at 293 K,while the measured quantum efficiency is 67.8%.EL spectrum analysis results of the fabricated white light emitting diode(wLED)based on a 310 nm UV-chip and Gd(P_(0.7)V_(0.3))O4:2 at%Sm^(3+),1 at%Bi^(3+)phosphors imply low correlated color temperature(3132 K)and appropriate color-rending index(R_(a)=82.7).These results demonstrate that Gd(P_(0.7)V_(0.3))O4:2 at%Sm^(3+),1 at%Bi^(3+)is a good candidate for manufacturing UV-activated warm white light emitting diodes.Chao Dou Yanzhen Yin Fei Zheng Zhen Wang Shijia Sun Chen Hu Yang Che Bing Teng Degao Zhong 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,4:2

14Development of VME system in RPC electronics for reactor neutrino experiment at Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant显示文摘VME system of the Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) electronics for the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment is described in this paper. A 9U VME RPC trigger module (RTM) is designed to process coincidence signals coming from front end cards (FECs), to generate local triggers and send them to FECs to select the hit data from RPC detector, to report trigger information to a master trigger system and receive cross triggers from the master trigger system. Another 9U VME readout module is designed to collect data from all FECs, to send out configurations to FECs, and to transmit collected hit data to the data acquisition system via VME bus. Frequencies of the mixed processes and frequencies of harmonics after undergoing quadratic transformation can be extracted successfully by the two dimensional second order scaled polyperiodograms and the third order scaled polyperiodograms, respectively. 17Analysis of antibiotic usage for viral community-acquired pneumonia in adults显示文摘The rationale for the antibiotic treatment of viral community-acquired pneumonia(CAP)in adults was analyzed to develop a clinical reference standard for this condition.Clinical data from 166 patients diagnosed with viral pneumonia across 14 hospitals in Beijing from November 2010 to December 2017 were collected.The indications for medications were evaluated,and the rationale for the use of antibiotics was analyzed.A total of 163(98.3%)patients with viral pneumonia were treated with antibiotics.A combination of C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)was used as markers to analyze the possible indications for antibiotic use.With threshold levels set at 0.25µg/L for PCT and 20 mg/L for CRP,the rate of unreasonable use of antibiotics was 55.2%.By contrast,at a CRP level threshold of 60 mg/L,the rate of antibiotic misuse was 77.3%.A total of 39 of the 163(23.9%)patients did not meet the guidelines for drug selection for viral CAP in adults.The unreasonable use of antibacterial drugs for the treatment of viral CAP in adults is a serious concern.Clinicians must reduce the unnecessary use of antibiotics.Rongmeng Jiang Bing Han Chang Dou Fei Zhou Bin Cao Xingwang Li 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,1:1
18Rapid authentication of sesame oil using ion mobility spectrometry and chemometrics显示文摘To ensure authenticity of sesame oil,an authentication technology was proposed using ion mobility spectrometry(IMS)and chemometrics.One-class classification(OCC)methods including one-class partial least squares(OCPLS)and one-class support vector machine(OCSVM)were employed to build authentication models for sesame oil.Subsequently,an independent test set was used to validate the constructed models.Validation set of 45 adulterated oils indicated that prediction correction rate of OCPLS model reached 95.6%(43 out of 45).Moreover,the complete set of sesame oils adulterated by sesame oil essence could be identified as counterfeit.Compared with previous studies,OCPLS model could work to identify untargeted adulteration.In conclusion,OCC method could effectively detect adulterated sesame oils containing as little as 10%other vegetable oils.This study provided a rapid screening method for adulterated sesame oil in market surveillance and a reference for developing authentication methods of other edible oils.Jun Jiang Xinjing Dou Liangxiao Zhang Jin Mao Li Yua Fei Maa Peiwu Li 2020Oil Crop Science2020,5,4:1
19Long non-coding RNA HCAR promotes endochondral bone repair by upregulating VEGF and MMP13 in hypertrophic chondrocyte through sponging miR-15b-5p显示文摘Endochondral bone formation is an important route for bone repair.Although emerging evidence has revealed the functions of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)in bone and cartilage development,the effect of lncRNAs in endochondral bone repair is still largely unknown.Here,we identified a lncRNA,named Hypertrophic Chondrocyte Angiogenesis-related lncRNA(HCAR),and proved it to promote the endochondral bone repair by upregulating the expression of matrix metallopeptidase 13(Mmp13)and vascular endothelial growth factorα(Vegfa)in hypertrophic chondrocytes.Lnc-HCAR knockdown in hypertrophic chondrocytes restrained the cartilage matrix remodeling and decrease the CD31hiEmcnhi vessels number in a bone repair model.Mechanistically,we proved that lnc-HCAR was mainly enriched in the cytoplasm using fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)assay,and it acted as a molecular sponge for miR-15b-5p.Further,in hypertrophic chondrocytes,lnc-HCAR competitively bound to miR-15b-5p to increase Vegfa and Mmp13 expression.Our results proved that lncRNA is deeply involved in endochondral bone repair,which will provide a new theoretical basis for future strategies for promoting fracture healing.Yun Bai Xiaoshan Gong Rui Dong Zhen Cao Ce Dou Chuan Liu Jianmei Li Fei Kang Jingjin Dai Chunrong Zhao Zhansone Tian Jiulin Tan Qijie Dai Shiwu Dong 2022Genes & Diseases2022,9,2:1
