| 4 | Shale Gas Formation and Occurrence in China: An Overview of the Current Status and Future Potential显示文摘Shale gas is one of the most promising unconventional resources both in China and abroad. It is known as a form of self-contained source-reservoir system with large and continuous dimensions. Through years of considerable exploration efforts, China has identified three large shale gas fields in the Fuling, Changning and Weiyuan areas of the Sichuan Basin, and has announced more than 540 billion m^3 of proven shale gas reserves in marine shale systems. The geological theories for shale gas development have progressed rapidly in China as well. For example, the new depositional patterns have been introduced for deciphering the paleogeography and sedimentary systems of the Wufeng shale and Longmaxi shale in the Sichuan Basin. The shale gas storage mechanism has been widely accepted as differing from conventional natural gas in that it is adsorbed on organic matter or a mineral surface or occurs as free gas trapped in pores and fractures of the shale. Significant advances in the techniques of microstructural characterization have provided new insights on how gas molecules are stored in micro- and nano-scale porous shales. Furthermore, newly-developed concepts and practices in the petroleum industry, such as hydraulic fracturing, microseismic monitoring and multiwell horizontal drilling, have made the production of this unevenly distributed but promising unconventional natural gas a reality. China has 10–36 trillion m^3 of promising shale gas among the world's whole predicted technically recoverable reserves of 206.6 trillion m^3. | 7 | High-throughput sequencing-based genome-wide identification of micro RNAs expressed in developing cotton seeds显示文摘Micro RNAs(mi RNAs) have been shown to play critical regulatory roles in gene expression in cotton. Although a large number of mi RNAs have been identified in cotton fibers, the functions of mi RNAs in seed development remain unexplored. In this study, a small RNA library was constructed from cotton seeds sampled at 15 days post-anthesis(DPA) and was subjected to high-throughput sequencing. A total of 95 known mi RNAs were detected to be expressed in cotton seeds. The expression pattern of these identified mi RNAs was profiled and 48 known mi RNAs were differentially expressed between cotton seeds and fibers at 15 DPA. In addition, 23 novel mi RNA candidates were identified in 15-DPA seeds. Putative targets for 21 novel and 87 known mi RNAs were successfully predicted and 900 expressed sequence tag(EST) sequences were proposed to be candidate target genes, which are involved in various metabolic and biological processes, suggesting a complex regulatory network in developing cotton seeds. Furthermore, mi RNA-mediated cleavage of three important transcripts in vivo was validated by RLM-5′ RACE. | 9 | Adjuvant hormone therapy after radical prostatectomy in highrisk localized and locally advanced prostate cancer: First multicenter, observational study in China显示文摘Objective: Potential of combined androgen blockade(CAB) has not been explored extensively in Chinese males with prostate cancer(PCa). Therefore, this study evaluated the 2-year prostate-specific antigen(PSA) recurrence rate and quality of life(Qo L) in patients with high-risk localized and locally advanced PCa receiving adjuvant hormone therapy(HT) after radical prostatectomy(RP).Methods: This prospective, multicenter, observational study conducted in 18 centers across China enrolled patients with high-risk factor(preoperative PSA>20 ng/m L or Gleason score >7) or locally advanced PCa. Different adjuvant HT were administered after RP according to investigator’s decision in routine clinical practice.Relationship of baseline and postoperative characteristics was assessed with recurrence rate. PSA recurrence rate and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Prostate(FACT-P) Qo L scores were recorded at 12 months and 24 months. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to construct the PSA recurrence rate during follow-up.Results: A total of 189 patients(mean age: 66.9±6.5 years) were recruited, among which 112(59.3%) patients showed serum PSA>20 ng/m L preoperatively. The highest postoperative pathological advancement noticed was from clinical T2(c T2) to pathological T3(p T3)(43.9%) stage. The majority of the patients(66.1%) received CAB as adjuvant HT, for a median duration of 20.0 months. The least recurrence(15.2%) was noticed in patients treated with CAB, followed by those treated with luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist(LHRHa)(16.1%), and antiandrogen(19.0%), with non-significant difference noted among the groups. None of the baseline or postoperative characteristics was related with PSA recurrence in our study. The 24-month FACT-P Qo L score of119 patients treated for >12 months showed significant improvement above baseline compared with those treated for ≤12 months.Conclusions: Adjuvant CAB therapy after RP showed reduction trend in 2-year PSA recurrence rate in highrisk Chinese patients with localized and locally advanced PCa, compared with adjuvant anti-androgens(AA) or LHRHa therapy. | 14 | Fuzzy Logic QoS Dynamic Source Routing for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks显示文摘Considering the characters of dynamic topology and the imprecise state information in mobile ad hoc network,we propose a Fuzzy Logic QoS Dynamic Source Routing (FLQDSR) algorithm based on Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol while adopting fuzzy logic to select the appropriate QoS routing in multiple paths which are searched in parallel. This scheme considers not only the bandwidth and end-to-end delay of routing, but also the cost of the path. On the otherh and the merit of using fuzzy logic is that it can be implemented by hardware. This makes the realization of the scheme easier and faster. However our algorithm is based on DSR, the maximal hop count should be less than 10, i.e., the scale of mobile ad hoc network should not be very large. | 17 | Bound ^(14)C-metsulfuron-methyl residue in soils显示文摘Bound residue(BR) of 14 C-metsulfuron-methyl ( 14 C-BR) in seven kinds of soil was significantly negative-related to soil pH and positive-related to the clay content during the initial 20 d of incubation, but only was significantly negative-related to soil pH after 30 d incubation. Again, the soil pH was found to be the dominant factor affecting BR formation from 14 C-metsulfuron-methyl among the basic properties(soil pH, clay, OM and CEC etc.) of soil. The maximum content of 14 C-BR in the 7 soils accounted for 19.3%-52.6% of applied amount. In addition, the composition of the 14 C-BR in fluvio marine yellow loamy(S 7) at the 90 d of incubation was identified using the coupling technique of LC-MS and isotope tracing method. The results showed that the 14 C-[2-amino-4-hydroxyl-6-methyl-1, 3, 5]-triazine, 14 C-[2-amino-4-methoxy-6-methyl-1, 3, 5]-triazine and 14 C-metsulfuron-methyl parent compound constituted the main components of the BR derived from 14 C-metsulfuron-methyl in the S 7. The relative percentage of the three compounds accounted for 41.4%, 35.8% and 19.3% of total recovery radioactivity, respectively. The results also indicated that a non-radioactive component, 2-methylformate-benzenesulfonyl-isocyanate, one of the degraded products of metsulfuron-methyl in soil, was also found to be one of the components of the BR.
