Failure mechanism and coupled static-dynamic loading theory in deep hard rock mining: A review显示文摘Rock failure phenomena, such as rockburst, slabbing(or spalling) and zonal disintegration, related to deep underground excavation of hard rocks are frequently reported and pose a great threat to deep mining.Currently, the explanation for these failure phenomena using existing dynamic or static rock mechanics theory is not straightforward. In this study, new theory and testing method for deep underground rock mass under coupled static-dynamic loading are introduced. Two types of coupled loading modes,i.e.'critical static stress + slight disturbance' and 'elastic static stress + impact disturbance',are proposed, and associated test devices are developed.Rockburst phenomena of hard rocks under coupled static-dynamic loading are successfully reproduced in the laboratory, and the rockburst mechanism and related criteria are demonstrated. The results of true triaxial unloading compression tests on granite and red sandstone indicate that the unloading can induce slabbing when the confining pressure exceeds a certain threshold, and the slabbing failure strength is lower than the shear failure strength according to the conventional Mohr-Column criterion.Numerical results indicate that the rock unloading failure response under different in situ stresses and unloading rates can be characterized by an equivalent strain energy density. In addition,we present a new microseismic source location method without premeasuring the sound wave velocity in rock mass, which can efficiently and accurately locate the rock failure in hard rock mines. Also,a new idea for deep hard rock mining using a non-explosive continuous mining method is briefly introduced.Xibing Li Fengqiang Gong Ming Tao Longjun Dong Kun Du Chunde Ma Zilong Zhou Tubing Yin 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,4:68
Type I interferons promote the survival and proinflammatory properties of transitional B cells in systemic lupus erythematosus patients显示文摘A hallmark of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is the breaking of B-cell tolerance with the generation of high-affinity autoantibodies;however, the antibody-independent features of the B-cell compartment in SLE are less understood. In this study,we performed an extensive examination of B-cell subsets and their proinflammatory properties in a Chinese cohort of new-onset SLE patients. We observed that SLE patients exhibited an increased frequency of transitional B cells compared with healthy donors and rheumatoid arthritis patients.Plasma from SLE patients potently promoted the survival of transitional B cells in a type I IFN-dependent manner, which can be recapitulated by direct IFN-αtreatment.Furthermore,the effect of IFN-αon enhanced survival of transitional B cells was associated with NF-κB pathway activation and reduced expression of the pro-apoptotic molecule Bax.Transitional B cells from SLE patients harbored a higher capacity to produce proinflammatory cytokine IL-6,which was also linked to the overactivated type I IFN pathway. In addition, the frequency of IL-6-producing transitional B cells was positively correlated with disease activity in SLE patients, and these cells were significantly reduced after short-term standard therapies. Thus, the current study provides a direct link between type I IFN pathway overactivation and the abnormally high frequency and proinflammatory properties of transitional B cells in active SLE patients, which contributes to the understanding of the roles of type I IFNs and B cells in the pathogenesis of SLE.Mei Liu Qiang Guo Chunmei Wu Delphine Sterlin Shyamal Goswami Ying Zhang Teng Li Chunde Bao Nan Shen Qiong Fu Xiaoming Zhang 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,4:9
Mechanical properties of rock under coupled static-dynamic loads显示文摘Rock drilling machine,INSTRON testing system, and SHPB device are updated to investigate the characteristics of rocks at great depth, with high loads from overburden, tectonic stresses and dynamic impacts due to blasting and boring. It is verified that these testing systems can be used to study the mechanical properties of rock material under coupled static and dynamic loading condition and give useful guidance for the deep mining and underground cavern excavation.Various tests to determine the rock strength, fragmentation behavior, and energy absorption were conducted using the updated testing systems. It is shown that under coupled static-dynamic loads,if the axial prestress is lower than its elastic limit, the rock strength is higher than the individual static or dynamic strength. At the same axial prestress, rock strength under coupled loads rises with the increasing strain rates.Under coupled static and dynamic loads, rock is observed to fail with tensile mode. While shear failure may exist if axial prestress is high enough. In addition,it is shown that the percentage of small particles increases with the increasing axial prestress and impact load based on the analysis of the particle-size distribution of fragments. It is also suggested that the energy absorption ratio of a specimen varies with coupled loads, and the maximum energy absorption ratio for a rock can be obtained with an appropriate combination of static and dynamic loads.Xibing Li Zilong Zhou Fujun Zhao Yujun Zuo Chunde Ma Zhouyuan Ye Liang Hong 2009Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2009,1,1:8
Investigation to meet China Ⅱ emission legislation for marine diesel engine with diesel methanol compound combustion technology显示文摘In order to reduce the pollutant emission and alleviate the pressure of petroleum resources shortage and greenhouse gas emission at the same time, the use of clean and renewable alternative fuel for marine engines is a promising option. In this study,a marine diesel engine, which was modified to run in diesel methanol compound combustion (DMCC) mode, was investigated. After the diesel injection parameters were calibrated, and combined with a sample after-treatment device DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst),the engine could meet the requirements of China II legislation. The overall MSP (methanol substitute percent) reached 54.1%.The value of each pollutant emission was much lower than that in China II emission legislation, and there was almost no methanol and formaldehyde emissions. When methanol was injected into the inlet manifold, the intake air temperature decreased a lot,as well as the exhaust gas temperature, which were beneficial to increase engine thermal efficiency and improve engine room environment.Compared with the engine running in pure diesel mode, when the engine ran in diesel/methanol dual fuel mode, the combustion phase was advanced, and the combustion duration became shorter. Therefore, the engine thermal efficiency increased, and fuel consumption decreased significantly.Hui Wang Anren Yao Chunde Yao Bin Wang Taoyang Wu Chao Chen 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,10:8
VIBRATION SUPPRESSION OF A FLEXIBLE PIEZOELECTRIC BEAM USING BP NEURAL NETWORK CONTROLLER显示文摘This paper aims at modeling and developing vibration control methods for a flexible piezoelectric beam. A collocated sensor/actuator placement is used. Finite element analysis (FEA) method is adopted to derive the dynamics model of the system. A back propagation neural network (BPNN) based proportional-derivative (PD) algorithm is applied to suppress the vibration. Simulation and experiments are conducted using the FEA model and BPNN-PD control law. Experimental results show good agreement with the simulation results using finite element modeling and the neural network control algorithm.Zhicheng Qiu Xiangtong Zhang Chunde Ye 2012Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2012,25,4:6

Experimental research on the residual stress of polycrystalline diamond compacts for oil drilling显示文摘Practical experiences gained in the past several years show that the thermal residual stress(TRS) is a main cause leading polycrystalline diamond compacts(PDC) to premature failure. It is the very important to measure the TRS accurately for optimizing the interface and improving the service performance of PDC.In this paper, the TRS in 1913 flat-interface PDC was measured using improved stress-release method(ISRM). The TRS on the surface of polycrystalline diamond(PCD) table was obtained, which can be used to calculate the radial thermal residual stress(RTRS) at the interface of PCD table via a refutation process. The obtained results show that there are compressive residual stress at the PCD table interface and in the most region of PCD table surface. The exception occurs near the outer diameter of the PCD table, where the PDC begins to bend and put the PCD table surface into a tension state,an undesirable state for a brittle material. The ISRM has covered the shortage existing in traditional stress-release method,in which only finite points on the surface of PCD table can be tested for one specimen and one time.Simple as the experimental procedures are,the test results are also very accurate and reliable. This method provides the theoretical and experimental basis for testing TRS of PDC accurately.Xu Gen~1 Xu Guoping~2 Chen Feng~3 Ma Chunde~3 (1.School of Resources and Safety Engineering,Central South University,Changsha 410083,China) (2.King-ray New Materials Science & Technology Co,Ltd,Changsha 410012,China) (3.Testing Center,Central South University,Changsha 410083,China) 2008金刚石与磨料磨具工程2008,28,S1:3
Effect of surgical factors on the augmentation of cementinjectable cannulated pedicle screw fixation by a novel calcium phosphate-based nanocomposite显示文摘Bone cement-augmented pedicle screw system demonstrates great efficacy in spinal disease treatments. However, the intrinsic drawbacks associated with clinically used polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) cement demands for new bone cement formulations. On the basis of our previous studies, a novel injectable and biodegradable calcium phosphate-based nanocomposite (CPN) for the augmentation of pedicle screw fixation was systematically evaluated for its surgical feasibility and biomechanical performance by simulated and animal osteoporotic bone models, and the results were compared with those of clinical PMMA cement. ASTM-standard solid foam and open-cell foam models and decalcified sheep vertebra models were employed to evaluate the augmentation effects of CPN on bone tissue and on the cement-injected cannulated pedicle screws (CICPs) placed in osteoporotic bone. Surgical factors in CICPs application, such as injection force, tapping technique, screw diameter, and pedicle screw loosening scenarios, were studied in comparison with those in PMMA. When directly injected to the solid foam model, CPN revealed an identical augmentation effect to that of PMMA, as shown by the similar compressive strengths (0.73 ± 0.04 MPa for CPN group vs. 0.79 ± 0.02 MPa for PMMA group). The average injection force of CPN at approximately 40-50 N was higher than that of PMMA at approximately 20 N. Although both values are acceptable to surgeons, CPN revealed a more consistent injection force pattern than did PMMA. The dispersing and anti-pullout ability of CPN were not affected by the surgical factors of tapping technique and screw diameter. The axial pullout strength of CPN evaluated by the decalcified sheep vertebra model revealed a similar augmentation level as that of PMMA (1351.6 ± 324.2 N for CPN vs. 1459.7 ± 304.4 N for PMMA). The promising results of CPN clearly suggest its potential for replacing PMMA in CICPs augmentation application and the benefits of further study and development for clinical uses.Haolin Sun Chun Liu Shunlun Chen Yanjie Bai Huilin Yang Chunde Li Lei Yang 2019Frontiers of Medicine2019,13,5:2

High-resolution linkage and quantitative trait locus mapping using an interspecific cross between Argopecten irradians irradians(♀) and A. purpuratus (♂)显示文摘The bay scallop and Peruvian scallop are economically important species.Interspecific hybrids of these two scallops outperformed both of their parent species in multiple growth traits but exhibited decreased fertility, which provides good models for the study of heterosis and species divergence.Genetic mapping serves as a chromosomal-level framework to investigate the molecular mechanisms of hybridization and introgression. In this study,high-resolution linkage maps were constructed for the bay and Peruvian scallops with an interspecific hybrid family. The linkage map of the bay scallop covered over 98.9% of the whole genome with 2994 mapped markers and the average marker interval of 0.32 cM.For the Peruvian scallop,1585 markers were mapped with the average maker interval of 0.51 cM,covering 97.7% of the genome. Both the two linkage maps have 16 linkage groups, corresponding to the haploid chromosome number of the two species.Approximately,54.5% of markers exhibited significant deviation from the expected Mendelian ratio of segregation, lending in sights into the intrinsic incompatibility between the two species.QTLs related to growth and shell coloration were detected, which could explain 13.1%and 74.9% of the phenotypic variance, respectively. This represents important information for further evaluation. These findings are an important addition to the genomic resources for scallop genetic studies, and are especially useful for investigations on genomic incompatibility for hybridization, genome evolution of closely related species, and genetic enhancement programs in aquaculture.Junxia Mao Qifan Zeng Zujing Yang Haoyuan Pan Lijie Yao Zhenmin Bao Chunde Wang Shi Wang 2020Marine Life Science & Technology2020,2,2:1

Influential factors of formation kinetics of flocs produced by water treatment coagulants显示文摘The growth rate and size of floc formation is of great importance in water treatment especially in coagulation process. The floc formation kinetics and the coagulation efficiency of synthetic water were investigated by using an on-line continuous optical photometric dispersion analyze and the analysis of water quality.Experimental conditions such as alum dosage,pH value for coagulation, stirring intensity and initial turbidity were extensively examined. The photometric dispersion analyze results showed that coagulation of kaolin suspensions with two coagulants(alum and polyaluminium chloride) could be taken as a two-phase process:slow and rapid growth periods.Operating conditions with higher coagulant doses, appropriate pH and average shear rate might be particularly advantageous. The rate of overall floc growth was mainly determined by a combination of hydraulic and water quality conditions such as pH and turbidity. The measurement of zeta potential indicates that polyaluminium chloride exhibited higher charge-neutralizing ability than alum and achieved lower turbidities than alum for equivalent Al dosages.Under the same operating conditions, the alum showed a higher grow rate, but with smaller floc size.Chunde Wu Lin Wang Bing Hu Jian Ye 2013Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,5:1
