1Effect of glutamine on change in early postoperative intestinal permeability and its relation to systemic inflammatory response显示文摘AIM: To study the effects of glutamine (Gin) on the change of intestinal permeability and its relationship to systemic inflammatory response in early abdominal postoperative patients.METHODS: A prospective, randomized, double-blind and controlled trial was taken. Twenty patients undergoing abdominal surgery were randomized into Gin group (oral administration of glutamine, 30 g/d, for 7 d, n=10) and placebo group (oral administration of placebo, 30 g/d, for 7 d, n=-10). Temperatures and heart rates of all patients were daily recorded. White blood cell counts(WBC) and biochemical variables were measured before operation and 4 and 7 d alter drug administration. Serum concentrations of glutamine, endotoxin, diamine oxidase and malondialdehyde and urine lactulose/mannito (L/M) ratio were measured before and 7 d alter drug administration.RESULTS: The patients in the 2 groups were comparable prior to drug administration. Serum Gin concentration was significantly decreased in the placebo group and increased in the Gin group 7 d alter drug administration. Urine L/M ratio was significantly increased in the placebo group and decreased in the Gin group. The serum concentration of endotoxin, diamine oxidase and malondialdehyde was significantly decreased in the Gin group compared with those in the placebo group. Temperatures, heart rates and WBC counts were significantly lower in the Gin group than those in the placebo group.CONCLUSION: Gut is one of the sources of systemic inflammatory response in abdominal postoperative patients and glutamine can decrease intestinal permeability, maintain intestinal barrier and attenuate systemic inflammatory response in early postoperative patients.Zhu-FuQuan ChongYang NingLi Jie-ShouLi 2004World Journal of Gastroenterology2004,10,13:11
2NbMoTiVSi_(x) refractory high entropy alloys strengthened by forming BCC phase and silicide eutectic structure显示文摘In order to improve mechanical properties of refractory high entropy alloys,silicide was introduced and NbMoTiVSi_(x)(x=0,0.1,0.2,0.3,and 0.4,molar ratio) refractory high entropy alloys are prepared by vacuum arc melting.Phase composition,micro structure evolution and mechanical properties were systematically studied.Results show that the silicide phase is formed in the alloys with addition of silicon,and the volume fraction of silicide increases from 0 to 8.3 % with increasing of silicon.Microstructure observation shows that the morphology of dendrite changes from columnar to near equiaxed,eutectic structure is formed at grain boundaries and composed of secondary BCC phase and silicide phase.The average length of the primary and second dendrites decreases with the increasing of silicon.Whereas,the ratio of eutectic structure increases from 0 to 19.8 % with the increment of silicon.The refinement of microstructure is caused by heterogeneous nucleation from the silicide.Compressive tests show that the yield and ultimate strength of the alloys increases from 1141.5 MPa to 2093.1 MPa and from 1700.1 MPa to 2374.7 MPa with increasing silicon content.The fracture strain decreases from 24.7 %-11.0 %.Fracture mechanism is changed from ductile fracture to ductile and brittle mixed fracture.The improvement of the strength is caused by grain bounda ry strengthening,which includes more boundaries around primary BCC phase and eutectic structure in grain boundary,both of them is resulted from the formation of silicide.Qin Xu Dezhi Chen Chongyang Tan Xiaoqin Bi Qi Wang Hongzhi Cui Shuyan Zhang Ruirun Chen 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,1:9
3Sini powder ameliorates the inflammatory response in rats with stress-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B/pyrin domain-containing protein 3 pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of Sini powder for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in rats and the molecular mechanisms involved.METHODS: A rat model of stress-induced NAFLD was established by a combination of long-term tethering and feeding of a high-fat, high-calorie diet. These rats were then intragastrically administered with either simvastatin, Sini powder, or vehicle for 1 week. The body mass and field test scores for each group were recorded weekly. Serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase activities, and triglyceride, total cholesterol,and free fatty acid concentrations were measured.Liver tissue histopathology was examined on hematoxylin and eosin-stained paraffin sections and oil red O-stained frozen sections. The hepatic m RNA expression of nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),NOD-, LRR-, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing CARD(ASC), and caspase-1 were measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The hepatic protein concentrations of NF-κB and NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, interleukin-1β(IL-1β), interleukin-6(IL-6), and the serum concentrations of IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS: Compared with the Blank group, rats in the Compound model group showed significant pathologic manifestations of NAFLD, and the expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1βand IL-6 were significantly higher(all P < 0.01). Both simvastatin and Sini powder significantly ameliorated the NAFLD pathology and the abnormal expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-6(all P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Sini powder inhibits the inflamma-tory response in rats with NAFLD, which is mediated by NF-κB/NLRP3, IL-1β, and IL-6, reduces the effects of psychological stress, and improves lipid metabolism. 5Two VOZ transcription factors link an E3 ligase and an NLR immune receptor to modulate immunity in rice显示文摘Nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat(NLR)proteins play critical roles in plant immunity.However,how NLRs are regulated and activate defense signaling is not fully understood.The rice(Oryza sativa)NLR receptor Piz-t confers broad-spectrum resistance to the fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae and the RING-type E3 ligase AVRPIZ-T INTERACTING PROTEIN 10(APIP10)negatively regulates Piz-t accumulation.In this study,we found that APIP10 interacts with two rice transcription factors,VASCULAR PLANT ONEZINC FINGER 1(OsVOZ1)and OsVOZ2,and promotes their degradation through the 26S proteasome pathway.OsVOZ1 displays transcriptional repression activity while OsVOZ2 confers transcriptional activation activity in planta.The osvoz1 and osvoz2 single mutants display modest but opposite M.oryzae resistance in the non-Piz-t background.However,the osvoz1 osvoz2 double mutant exhibits strong dwarfism and cell death,and silencing of both genes via RNA interference also leads to dwarfism,mild cell death,and enhanced resistance to M.oryzae in the non-Piz-t background.Both OsVOZ1 and OsVOZ2 interact with Piz-t.Double silencing of OsVOZ1 and OsVOZ2 in the Piz-t background decreases Piz-t protein accumulation and transcription,reactive oxygen species-dependent cell death,and resistance to M.oryzae containing AvrPiz-t.Taken together,these results indicate that OsVOZ1 and OsVOZ2 negatively regulate basal defense but contribute positively to Piz-t-mediated immunity.Jiyang Wang Ruyi Wang Hong Fang Chongyang Zhang Fan Zhang Zeyun Hao Xiaoman You Xuetao Shi Chan Ho Park Kangyu Hua Feng He Maria Bellizzi Kieu Thi Xuan Vo Jong-Seong Jeon Yuese Ning Guo-Liang Wang 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,2:8
6Detection of a half-microgal coseismic gravity change after the Ms7. 0 Lushan earthquake显示文摘Because only a small near-field coseismic gravity change signal remains after removal of noise from the accuracy of observations and the time and spatial resolution of the earth's surface gravity observation system,it is difficult to verify simulations of dislocation theory.In this study,it is shown that the GS15 gravimeter,located 99.5 km from the epicenter of the Ms7.0 Lushan earthquake on April 20,2013 at 08∶04 UTC+8,showed the influence of the earthquake from 2013-04-16 to 2013-04-26 after a time calibration,tide corrections,drift correction,period correction and relaxation correction were applied to its data.The post-seismic relaxation process of the spring in the gravimeter took approximately 430 minutes and showed a 2.5×10-8ms-2gravity change.After correcting for the relaxation process,it is shown that a coseismic gravity change of approximately+0.59±0.4×10-8ms-2was observed by the GS15 gravimeter;this agrees with the simulated gravity change of approximately 0.31×10-8ms-2.The rate of the coseismic gravity change and the coseismic vertical displacement,as measured by one-second and one-day sampling interval GPS units,is also consistent with the theoretical rate of change.Therefore,the GS15 gravimeter at the Pixian Station observed a coseismic gravity change after the Ms7.0 Lushan earthquake.This and similar measurements could be applied to test and confirm the theory used for these simulations.Wei Jin Zhao Bin Tan Hongbo Yu Dan Shen Chongyang Li Hui 2013Geodesy and Geodynamics2013,4,3:7
7Recent gravity changes in China Mainland显示文摘Based on results of the mobile gravity measurements of the Crustal Movement Observation Network of China and Digital Earthquake Observation Network of China, this paper shows the pattern of temporal gravity changes in China mainland on a time scale of 2-3 years since 1998, and gives an analysis of the patterns. 8Recent progress in preventive effect of collagen peptides on photoaging skin and action mechanism显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV)-induced photoaging skin has become an urgent issue.The functional foods and cosmetics aiming to improve skin photoaging are developing rapidly,and the demand is gradually increasing year by year.Collagen peptides have been proven to display diverse physiological activities,such as excellent moisture retention activity,hygroscopicity,tyrosinase inhibitory activity and antioxidant activity,which indicates that they have great potential in amelioration of UV-induced photoaging.The main objective of this article is to recap the main mechanisms to improve photoaging skin by collagen peptides and their physiological activities in photo-protection.Furthermore,the extraction and structural characteristics of collagen peptides are overviewed.More importantly,some clinical trials on the beneficial effect on skin of collagen peptides are also discussed.In addition,prospects and challenges of collagen peptides are emphatically elucidated in this review.This article implies that collagen peptides have great potential as an effective ingredient in food and cosmetics industry with a wide application prospect.Chongyang Li Yu Fu Hongjie Dai Qiang Wang Ruichang Gao Yuhao Zhang 2022Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,2:7
9Characteristics of subsurface density variations before the 4.20 Lushan M_s7.0 earthquake in the Longmenshan area: inversion results显示文摘The 4.20 Lushan MS7.0 earthquake occurred on the southwest segment of the Longmenshan fault on 20 April 2013. Some meaningful information on the preparation and occurrence of this earthquake was found based on the dynamic variation of gravity(DVG). To examine the great progress of the Lushan earthquake, we obtained the density variation(DENV) derived from the DVG using the compact gravity inversion method in this article. The inversion results reveal three main findings:(1) the DENV in the crust in the Jinshajiang fault area changed from positive in 2010–2011 to negative in 2011–2012.(2) The DENV in the Xianshuihe fault area decreased continuously from 2010 to 2012.(3) The DENV of the uppermost mantle of South China decreased in 2010–2011 and increased in 2011–2012. 10Possible mechanisms underlying treatment of Alzheimer’s disease with Traditional Chinese Medicine: active components, potential targets and synthetic pathways of Bulao Elixir显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To elucidate the mechanisms underlying the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease(AD) with Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), by examining the active components, potential targets and synthetic pathways of Bulao Elixir(BLE).METHODS: The Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion(ADME)/Toxicology(T) calculation was used to screen the active components of Bulao Elixir. Based on the TCM Systems Pharmacology Analysis Platform(TCMSP database) and a text mining tool(GoPubMed database), we predicted and screened the active components of Bulao Elixir and its therapeutic targets for AD. Using the Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery(DAVID), we obtained the targets for AD. Cytoscape software was used to establish a network map of the active component-target and target-pathway of Bulao Elixir. Gene function, related biological processes and signaling pathways were analyzed using the DAVID database.RESULTS: Twelve active components were selected from 196 components of Bulao Elixir. Among 2209 targets, 102 effective targets were selected, and 30 important targets were identified via matching with the disease targets. After further analysis, 14 core targets were identified. Enrichment analysis revealed that most of these important targets were involved in multiple biological processes, including apoptosis, inflammatory reactions, and cell regulation cycles. 11Effect of Shot Peening and Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation on the Intergranular Corrosion Behavior of 7A85 Aluminum Alloy显示文摘The effects of shot peening(SP) and plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) on the intergranular corrosion behavior of the novel high strength aluminum alloy 7A85(AA 7A85) were investigated by electrochemical polarization and electrochemical impedance tests.The intergranular corrosion mechanism of SP,PEO and PEO combined with sealingtreated AA 7A85 was studied by the metallographic analysis,residual stress testing,X-ray diffractometer analysis and scanning electron microscopy.The results show that AA 7A85-T7452 is very sensitive to intergranular corrosion.SP would significantly improve its intergranular corrosion resistance.This is attributed to the combination action of residual compressive stress and grain refinement.PEO would reduce the largest corrosion depth by 41.6%.Moreover,PEO without sealing did not eliminate the intergranular corrosion due to the existence of the micropores and microcracks in the oxide coating.However,PEO combined with the SiO2sol–gel sealing treatment could effectively protect the AA 7A85-T7452 from intergranular corrosion because of the good corrosion resistance and barrier function of the sealed coating.Zuoyan Ye Daoxin Liu Chongyang Li Xiaoming Zhang Zhi Yang Mingxia Lei 2014Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2014,27,4:4
12Domesticated cynomolgus monkey embryonic stem cells allow the generation of neonatal interspecies chimeric pigs显示文摘Blastocyst complementation by pluripotent stem cell(PSC)injection is believed to be the most promising method to generate xenogeneic organs.However,ethical issues prevent the study of human chimeras in the late embryonic stage of development.Primate embryonic stem cells(ESCs),which have similar pluripotency to human ESCs,are a good model for studying interspecies chimerism and organ generation.However,whether primate ESCs can be used in xenogenous grafts remains unclear.In this study,we evaluated the chimeric ability of cynomolgus monkey(Macaca fascicularis)ESCs(cmESCs)in pigs,which are excellent hosts because of their many similarities to humans.We report an optimized culture medium that enhanced the anti-apoptotic ability of cmESCs and improved the development of chimeric embryos,in which domesticated cmESCs(D-ESCs)injected into pig blastocysts differentiated into cells of all three germ layers.In addition,we obtained two neonatal interspecies chimeras,in which we observed tissue-specific D-ESC differentiation.Taken together,the results demonstrate the capability of D-ESCs to integrate and differentiate into functional cells in a porcine model,with a chimeric ratio of 0.001-0.0001 in different neonate tissues.We believe this work will facilitate future developments in xenogeneic organogenesis,bringing us one step closer to producing tissue-specific functional cells and organs in a large animal model through interspecies blastocyst complementation.Rui Fu Dawei Yu Jilong Ren Chongyang Li Jing Wang Guihai Feng Xuepeng Wang Haifeng Wan Tianda Li Libin Wang Ying Zhang Tang Hai Wei Li Qi Zhou 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,2:4

14Estimating Moho basement and faults using gravity inversion in Yushu-earthquake area,China显示文摘A gravity survey was conducted one month after the 2010 Yushu earthquake in the epicenter area.The cross-fault survey line was 500 km long,from Langqian county to Qingshuihe county,in a transition zone between Bayan Har block and Qiangtang block,in an area of high elevation,large undulating terrain,and complex geological features.An interpretation of the data was carried out together with other kinds of data,such as seismic exploration and magnetic exploration.The result shows that gravity is sensitive to fault boundary;the geologic structure of the region is complex at middle and upper depths,and the density profile reveals an eastward-pushing fault movement.Yang Guangliang 2012Geodesy and Geodynamics2012,3,2:4
15Gravity distribution characteristics and their relationship with the distribution of earthquakes and tectonic units in the Northe South seismic belt, China显示文摘The Northe South Seismic Belt(NSSB) is a Chinese tectonic boundary with a very complex structure, showing a sharp change in several geophysical field characteristics. To study these characteristics and their relationship with the distribution of earthquakes and faults in the study area, we first analyze the spatial gravity anomaly to achieve the Bouguer gravity anomaly(EGM2008 BGA) and the regional gravity survey Bouguer gravity anomaly.Next, we ascertain the Moho depth and crustal thickness of the study area using interface inversion with the control points derived from the seismic and magnetotelluric sounding profiles achieved in recent years. In this paper, we summarize the relief, trend, Moho gradient, and crustal nature, in addition to their relationship with the distribution of earthquakes and faults in the study area. The findings show that earthquakes with magnitudes greater than Ms7.0 are mainly distributed in the Moho Bouguer anomaly variation belt and faults. 16A Physical Method of Analyzing theMechanism of Continental StrongShocks from Crustal Movement显示文摘In order to analyze the mechanism of continental strong shocks from the angle of crustal movement using the data of repeated geodetic survey, this paper has proposed a physical method; it analyzes the mechanism of density change due to the occurrence of strong shocks by use of the physical quantity that reflects the time change of crustal density. 17Analytical study on abnormal change in time-variable gravity at Yichang seismostation before the M5.1 Badong earthquake显示文摘An M5.1 earthquake occurred in Badong County,only 66 km from the Three Gorges Dam,on December 16,2013. The continuous gravity observation data obtained at Yichang seismostation nearest to the epicenter( 96 km) were analyzed,and it was found that the continuous gravity observation data obtained in this rainy season did not exhibit a characteristic of seasonal change in gravity identical to that in the past years,and thereafter the M5.1 Badong earthquake occurred. Numerical simulation revealed that the water storage and discharge of the Three Gorges reservoir generated seasonal change in gravity,and the changes in atmospheric pressure and gravity load were not the main sources of the seasonal change of continuous gravity observation data whether in respect of magnitude or phase and did not have obvious breaking change on annual variation before the earthquake. Through analysis of the seasonal change data observed on the same site including cavern temperature,rainfall data and global terrestrial water model( CPC) simulated water load,it was thought that,in the observation room with cavern temperature change of only-0.11°C / a at Yichang seismostation,the seasonal change of continuous gravity observation result mainly originated from the seasonal change in rainfall. 18Simulation of coseismic effects of the Ms7. 0 Lushan earthquake显示文摘Using plane dislocation theory and the seismic-wave inversion results from the Institute of Geophysics,China Earthquake Administration and the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics,Chinese Academy of Sciences models,the surface coseismic deformation and gravity changes caused by the 2013 Ms7.0 Lushan earthquake are simulated.The simulations of coseismic gravity change and deformation indicate that the dislocation has dip-slip characteristics.The results also show that the coseismic deformation exhibits a symmetrical,positive-and-negative distribution,with the deformation usually being less than 10 mm in the farfield but up to 140 mm in the near-field.The gravity changes are concentrated on the fault-projection area,which is greatly affected by the vertical surface deformation.The gravity change and vertical deformation in the far field are usually less than and 5 mm,respectively,but reach and 330 mm,respectively,in the near field.The simulated results agree well with the measured results,which suggests a theoretical basis for the observed change in gravity before and after this earthquake.Tan Hongbo Shen Chongyang Wei Jin Zhao Bin Wang Jian Xuan Songbai 2013Geodesy and Geodynamics2013,4,3:3
19Temporal gravity changes before the 2008 Yutian Ms7.3 earthquake显示文摘Based on the data of the repeated gravity observation network in Chinese mainland since 1998,we analyzed the temporal changes of regional gravity field before the 2008 Yutian Ms7.3 earthquake.The result shows some mid-to-long term(two to ten years)changes during the earthquake's preparation.Notable features are a gravity increase lasting several years and a relatively large-scaled gradient zone of gravity change,the former indicating a continuous energy accumulation and the latter a possible location of seismic rupture.These gravity changes showed a trend of increase-accelerated increase-decelerated increase,similar to that of the Tangshan Ms7.8 earthquake in 1976.The maximum accumulated gravity change related to the earthquake reached 200×10-8 ms-2.Shen Chongyang Li Hui Sun Shaoan Yang Guangliang Xuan Songbai Tan Hongbo Liu Shaoming 2012Geodesy and Geodynamics2012,3,1:3
