| 1 | Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal colonization of Glycyrrhiza glabra roots enhances plant biomass,phosphorus uptake and concentration of root secondary metabolites显示文摘Arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)fungi penetrate the cortical cells of the roots of vascular plants,and are widely distributed in soil.The formation of these symbiotic bodies accelerates the absorption and utilization of mineral elements,enhances plant resistance to stress,boosts the growth of plants,and increases the survival rate of transplanted seedlings.We studied the effects of various arbuscular mycorrhizae fungi on the growth and development of licorice(Glycyrrhiza glabra).Several species of AM,such as Glomus mosseae,Glomus intraradices,and a mixture of fungi(G.mosseae,G.intraradices,G.cladoideum,G.microagregatum,G.caledonium and G.etunicatum)were used in our study.Licorice growth rates were determined by measuring the colonization rate of the plants by the fungi,plant dry biomass,phosphorus concentration and concentration of secondary metabolites.We established two cloned strains of licorice,clone 3(C3)and clone 6(C6)to exclude the effect of genotypic variations.Our results showed that the AM fungi could in fact increase the leaf and root biomass,as well as the phosphorus concentration in each clone.Furthermore,AM fungi significantly increased the yield of certain secondary metabolites in clone 3.Our study clearly demonstrated that AM fungi play an important role in the enhancement of growth and development of licorice plants.There was also a significant improvement in the secondary metabolite content and yield of medicinal compounds from the roots. | HongLing LIU Yong TAN Monika NELL Karin ZITTER-EGLSEER Chris WAWSCRAH Brigitte KOPP ShaoMing WANG Johannes NOVAK | 2014 | Journal of Arid Land2014,6,2: | 13 |

| 3 | Performance of a completely autotrophic nitrogen removal over nitrite process for treating wastewater with different substrates at ambient temperature显示文摘The stability and parameters of a bio-ceramic filter for completely autotrophic nitrogen removal were investigated.The completely autotrophic nitrogen removal over nitrite(CANON) reactor was fed with different concentrations of ammonia(400,300,and 200mg N/L) but constant influent ammonia load.The results showed that the CANON system can achieve good treatment performance at ambient temperature(15-23°C).The average removal rate and removal loading of NH4+-N and TN was 83.90%,1.26kg N/(m3·day),and 70.14%,1.09kg N/(m3·day),respectively.Among the influencing factors like pH,dissolved oxygen and alkalinity,it was indicated that the pH was the key parameter of the performance of the CANON system.Observing the variation of pH would contribute to better control of the CANON system in an intuitive and fast way.Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis analysis of microorganisms further revealed that there were some significant changes in the community structure of ammonium oxidizing bacteria,which had low diversity in different stages,while the species of anaerobic ammonium oxidizing(anammox) bacteria were fewer and the community composition was relatively stable.These observations showed that anaerobic ammonia oxidation was more stable than the aerobic ammonia oxidation,which could explain that why the CANON system maintained a good removal efficiency under the changing substrate conditions. | Xiaoyan Chang Dong Li Yuhai Liang Zhuo Yang Shaoming Cui Tao Liu Huiping Zeng Jie Zhang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,4: | 12 |
| 4 | Distribution of ^137Cs and ^210Ppb in sediments of tidal flats in north Jiangsu Province显示文摘Seven cores were collected from different sediment zones of tidal flats at Xin-yanggang in north Jiangsu province in August 2007. Sediment grain-size distribution and radioisotopes of 137Cs and 210Pb analysis were carried out for these cores. Sediment rates of the cores and radioisotopes distribution in surface sediment in different zones of the tidal flat were calculated from the 137Cs and 210Pb activities in sediments cores. The results indicated that each tidal zone had experienced different evolution phases,hydrological dynamics in the tidal flats made the grain-size of the surface sediment change gradually. 137Cs and 210Pb ac-tivities on the superficial layer of the cores varied spatially and the reason was discussed. On tidal flats,the fluctuation of 137Cs and 210Pb activities in the cores reflected the special sedi-mentary characteristics. Vegetation affects the grain-size distribution and the vertical profiles of 137Cs and 210Pb in the upper depths. 137Cs and 210Pb chronology got the comparable av-erage sediment rates on the tidal flat. The characteristics of 137Cs and 210Pb in the cores re-flected various depositional dynamical environments in different tidal zones and gave infor-mation on the different evolvement phases of the tidal zones. | 7 | Advances in crop phenotyping and multi-environment trials显示文摘Efficient evaluation of crop phenotypes is a prerequisite for breeding, cultivar adoption, genomics and phenomics study. Plant genotyping is developing rapidly through the use of high-throughput sequencing techniques,while plant phenotyping has lagged far behind and it has become the rate-limiting factor in genetics, large-scale breeding and development of new cultivars. In this paper,we consider crop phenotyping technology under three categories. The first is high-throughput phenotyping techniques in controlled environments such as greenhouses or specifically designed platforms. The second is a phenotypic strengthening test in semi-controlled environments, especially for traits that are difficult to be tested in multi-environment trials(MET), such as lodging, drought and disease resistance. The third is MET in uncontrolled environments, in which crop plants are managed according to farmer's cultural practices. | 9 | Analytical study on abnormal change in time-variable gravity at Yichang seismostation before the M5.1 Badong earthquake显示文摘An M5.1 earthquake occurred in Badong County,only 66 km from the Three Gorges Dam,on December 16,2013. The continuous gravity observation data obtained at Yichang seismostation nearest to the epicenter( 96 km) were analyzed,and it was found that the continuous gravity observation data obtained in this rainy season did not exhibit a characteristic of seasonal change in gravity identical to that in the past years,and thereafter the M5.1 Badong earthquake occurred. Numerical simulation revealed that the water storage and discharge of the Three Gorges reservoir generated seasonal change in gravity,and the changes in atmospheric pressure and gravity load were not the main sources of the seasonal change of continuous gravity observation data whether in respect of magnitude or phase and did not have obvious breaking change on annual variation before the earthquake. Through analysis of the seasonal change data observed on the same site including cavern temperature,rainfall data and global terrestrial water model( CPC) simulated water load,it was thought that,in the observation room with cavern temperature change of only-0.11°C / a at Yichang seismostation,the seasonal change of continuous gravity observation result mainly originated from the seasonal change in rainfall. | 15 | Tribological study of N-containing borate derivatives and their synergistic antioxidation effects with T531显示文摘Two N-containing borates, BTES and BMES, were synthesized with dodecyl phenol, 2-(N-containing heterocyclic) ethan-1-ol, boric acid, and dibutylamine, and their tribological properties in rapeseed oil(RSO) were investigated using a four-ball tester. The results showed that the load-carrying ability(P_B value) of RSO can be improved by 40.9% and 67.9%, respectively, when using 0.5 wt% BTES and BMES. Moreover, the antiwear and friction-reducing performances of the additive-containing oils increased with the additive concentration. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results of the worn steel ball surfaces showed that BTES and BMES formed protective films, which contained boron oxide, iron oxide, ferrous sulfate, ferrous sulfide(for BMES), and other organic nitrogen compounds, on the metal surfaces. The better load-carrying and antiwear performances of BMES than those of BTES might be due to their different sulfur contents, which result in different tribochemical reaction films on the contact surfaces. | 16 | Identification of maize seed varieties based on near infrared reflectance spectroscopy and chemometrics显示文摘False seeds can often be seen in the maize seed market,leading to a serious decline in maize yield.Those existing variety identification methods are expensive,time consuming,and destructive to seeds.The aim of this study is to develop a cheap,fast and non-destructive method which can robustly identify large amounts of maize seed varieties based on near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy(NIRS)and chemometrics.Because it is difficult to establish models for every variety in the market,this study mainly investigated the performance of models based on a large number of samples(more than 40 major varieties in the market).The reflectance spectra of maize seeds were collected by two modes(bulk kernels mode and single kernel mode).Both collection modes can be applied to identification,but only the single kernel mode can be applied to purity sorting.The spectra were pretreated with smoothing,the first derivative and vector normalization;and then principal component analysis(PCA),linear discriminant analysis(LDA)and biomimetic pattern recognition(BPR)were applied to establish identification models.The environmental factors such as producing areas and years have a significant influence on the performance of the models.Therefore,the method to improve the robustness of the models was investigated in this study.New indexes(correct acceptance degree(CAD),correct rejection degree(CRD)and correct degree(CD))were defined to analyze the performance of the models more accurately.Finally,the models obtained a mean correct discrimination rate of over 90%,and exhibited robust properties for samples harvested from different areas and years.The results showed that NIR technology combined with chemometrics methods such as PCA,LDA,and BPR could be a suitable and alternative technique to identify the authenticity of maize seed varieties. | Yongjin Cui Lanjun Xu Dong An Zhe Liu Jiancheng Gu Shaoming Li Xiaodong Zhang Dehai Zhu | 2018 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,2: | 3 |

The branched MWCNTs up to about 30% can be generated by the pyrolysis of iron(Ⅱ) phthalocyanine in presence of thiol under Ar/H2 at 800900℃. The growth mechanism of the branched nanotubes was proposed and the possible reason that thiol enhanced branched nanotubes growth is discussed.
