| 1 | A new inversion method for reconstruction of plasmaspheric He^(+)density from EUV images显示文摘The Computer Tomography(CT)method is used for remote sensing the Earth’s plasmasphere.One challenge for image reconstruction is insufficient projection data,mainly caused by limited projection angles.In this study,we apply the Algebraic Reconstruction Technique(ART)and the minimization of the image Total Variation(TV)method,with a combination of priori knowledge of north–south symmetry,to reconstruct plasmaspheric He+density from simulated EUV images.The results demonstrate that incorporating priori assumption can be particularly useful when the projection data is insufficient.This method has good performance even with a projection angle of less than 150 degrees.The method of our study is expected to have applications in the Soft X-ray Imager(SXI)reconstruction for the Solar wind–Magnetosphere–Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)mission. | Ya Huang Lei Dai Chi Wang RongLan Xu Liang Li | 2021 | Earth and Planetary Physics2021,5,2: | 2 |
| 2 | Clustering of Non-communicable Diseases Risk Factors in Healthy Adults Aged 35 Years and Older in Shenzhen,China显示文摘We assessed the prevalence of non‐ communicable diseases(NCDs) risk factors with a focus on their clustering among healthy adults in Shenzhen, China. Data from the 2011 China Health and Nutrition Survey, comprising a regionally representative sample of 806 healthy adults aged 35 years or older, were obtained to determine the prevalence of five risk factors for NCDs. The prevalence of current smoking, central obesity, impaired fasting glucose, borderline hypertension, and borderline high total cholesterol was 19.97%, 28.29%, 4.47%, 10.55%, and 36.10%, respectively. A total 63.77% of participants had at least one risk factor. Upon examination of risk factor clustering, we observed that 7.57% of participants had at least three risk factors. Using this threshold as a cutoff, clustering of risk factors was associated with sex [odds ratio(OR) = 3.336, 95% confidence interval(CI): 1.782 to 6.246], physical activity(OR = 1.913, 95% CI: 1.009 to 3.628), and BMI(OR = 7.376, 95% CI: 3.812 to 14.270). | 13 | Mechanical properties of defective L1_(2)-Al_(3)X(X=Sc,Lu)phase:A first-principles study显示文摘The mechanical properties of Al_(3)X(X=Sc,Lu)were studied by density functional theory(DFT).The elastic constants and formation enthalpy indicate that the L1_(2)-Al_(3)X(X=Sc and Lu)are mechanically and thermodynamically stable.The bulk moduli and shear moduli show that Al_(3)Sc has better resistance to volume and shape changes than AI3 Lu.However,the calculated results show that Al_(3)Lu has better plasticity than Al_(3)Sc.The properties of structural stability and elastic moduli of the crystal containing four major types of point defects in L1_(2)-Al_(3)X(X=Sc and Lu)were calculated.The mechanical properties of point defects show that point defects cause L1_(2)-Al_(3)X lattice distortion and change the corresponding elastic constants.Point defects reduce the Young’s,shear and bulk moduli but have little effects on the crystal brittleness and toughness of Al_(3)Sc and Al_(3)Lu.Therefore,we have found that Lu addition into aluminum alloys is a very good replacement for expensive Sc addition when the L1_(2)structures are desired for nucleation or strengthening precipitates in aluminum alloys. | Yu Wang Ya'nan Meng Junsheng Wang Chi Zhang Houbing Huang | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,2: | 1 |

| 20 | Observation of Van Hove Singularities and Temperature Dependence of Electrical Characteristics in Suspended Carbon Nanotube Schottky Barrier Transistors显示文摘A Van Hove singularity(VHS) is a singularity in the phonon or electronic density of states of a crystalline solid. When the Fermi energy is close to the VHS, instabilities will occur, which can give rise to new phases of matter with desirable properties. However, the position of the VHS in the band structure cannot be changed in most materials. In this work, we demonstrate that the carrier densities required to approach the VHS are reached by gating in a suspended carbon nanotube Schottky barrier transistor. Critical saddle points were observed in regions of both positive and negative gate voltage, and the conductance flattened out when the gate voltage exceeded the critical value. These novel physical phenomena were evident when the temperature is below 100 K.
