| 14 | Automated segmentation technique with self-driven post-processing for histopathological breast cancer images显示文摘Automated segmentation of histopathological images is a challenging task to detect cancerous cells in breast tissue.Recent reviews state high accuracy to segment image,but depends on user input,say window area size,time steps,level set,magnification factor and so on.To extract the region of interest effectively,the subject expert performs post-processing operations several times on the segmentation results with different input values for different parameters say,area opening,fill holes and selects most appropriate enhanced image required for further analysis.The authors proposed an automated segmentation technique followed by self-driven post-processing operations to detect cancerous cells effectively.The post-processing method itself determines the value of different parameters for different operations based on segmented results obtained.The proposed technique has the following features:(i)technique is context sensitive;(ii)no prior setting of time step,weighted area coefficient parameters is required;(iii)magnification independent;(iv)post-processing operations are self-driven which enhance segmentation results adaptively.The experimental results are compared with four state-of-the-art techniques:fuzzy C-means,spatial fuzzy C-means,spatial neutrosophic distance regularised level set and convolutional neural network-based PangNet.Experimental results obtained on two publicly available data sets show that the proposed technique outperforms effectively. | Chetna Kaushal Anshu Singla | 2020 | CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2020,5,4: | 0 |
| 15 | Alteration of structural, optical and electrical properties of CdSe incorporated polyvinyl pyrrolidone nanocomposite for memory devices显示文摘The important enhancement in the structural,dielectric and optical properties of pure polymer and CdSe incorporated polyvinyl pyrrolidone has been reported in this paper.The surface morphology of CdSe/PVP nanocomposite film is studied by using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The chemical composition of different elements has been reported using energy dispersive X-ray(EDX)spectrum.The structure of polymer nanocomposite is determined with the help of X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectrum and is observed to be hexagonal.Particle size,intercrystalline separation,interplanner spacing,lattice parameters,strain and dislocation factors are calculated using XRD results.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and Photoluminescence(PL)analysis have been studied in order to check the possible interaction between CdSe quantum dots and polyvinyl pyrrolidone(PVP)matrix.The ac conductivity of CdSe/PVP nanocomposite is found to be higher as compared to pure polymers.The highest value of conductivity observed at 60203 Hz and at 523 K is found to be 3:72105 Sm1.Comparative study of dielectric constant,dielectric losses,dissipation factor,electric modulus and impedance has been performed.The semi-circles in impedance measurement for both materials show the bulk electrical properties that result in single relaxation process in CdSe/PVP nanocomposite. | Chetna Tyagi Ambika Devi | 2018 | Journal of Advanced Dielectrics2018,8,3: | 0 |
| 16 | Integrated self-referencing single shot digital holographic microscope and optical tweezer显示文摘Digital holographic microscopy is a single-shot technique for quantitative phase imaging of samples,yielding thickness profiles of phase objects.It provides sample features based on their morphology,leading to their classification and identification.However,observing samples,especially cells,in fluids using holographic microscopes is difficult without immobilizing the object.Optical tweezers can be used for sample immobilization in fluids.The present manuscript provides an overview of our ongoing work on the development of a compact,low-cost microscopy system for digital holographic imaging of optically trapped samples.Integration of digital holographic microscopy system with tweezers is realized by using the optical pickup unit extracted from DVD burners to trap microsamples,which are then holographically imaged using a highly compact self-referencing interferometer along with a low-cost,in-house developed quadrant photodiode,providing morphological and spectral information of trapped particles.The developed integrated module was tested using polystyrene microspheres as well as human erythrocytes.The investigated system offers a multitude of sample features,including physical and mechanical parameters and corner frequency information of the sample.These features were used for sample classification.The proposed technique has vast potential in opening up new avenues for low-cost,digital holographic imaging and analysis of immobilized samples in fluids and their classification. | Subhash Utadiya Sachin Joshi Nimit Patel Chetna Patel Mugdha Joglekar Vani Cahhniwal Timothy O’Connor Bahram Javidi Arun Anand | 2022 | Light(Advanced Manufacturing)2022,3,3: | 0 |
| 17 | Production of liquid bio-fuel from catalytic de-oxygenation:Pyrolysis of beech wood and flax shives显示文摘This study presents a detailed analysis of the catalytic de-oxygenation of the liquid and gaseous pyrolytic products of two biomasses (beech wood and flax shives) using different catalysts (commercial HZSM-5 and H-Y,and lab-synthesised Fe-HZSM-5,Fe-H-Y,Pt/Al2O3 and CoMo/Al2O3). The experiments were all conducted in a semi-batch reactor under the same operating conditions for all feed materials. BET specific surface area,BJH pore size distribution and FT-IR technologies have been used to characterise the catalysts,while gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS),flame ionisation detection (GC-FID) and thermal conductivity detection (GC-TCD) were used to examine the liquid and gaseous pyrolytic products. It was firstly seen that at higher catalyst-to-biomass ratios of 4∶1,de-oxygenation efficiency did not experience any further significant improvement. FeHZSM-5 was deemed to be the most efficient of the catalysts utilised as it helped reach the lowest oxygen contents in the bio-oils samples and the second best was HZSM-5. It was also found that HZSM-5 and H-Y tended to privilege the decarbonylation route(production of CO),whilst their iron-modified counterparts favoured the decarboxylation one (production of CO2) for both biomasses studied. It was then seen that the major bio-oil components (carboxylic acids) underwent almost complete conversion under catalytic treatment to produce mostly unoxygenated aromatic compounds,phenols and gases like CO and CO2.
