| 1 | Effect of catgut implantation at acupoints on GABA_B and mGluR1 expressions in brain stem of rats with spasticity after stroke显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of catgut implantation at acupoints on the expressions of γ-amino butyric acid B receptor(GABAB ) and metabotropic glutamate receptor 1(mGluR1) in the brain stem of rats with spasticity after stroke.METHODS: In total, 60 male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups: a sham group(n=10), a model group(n=25) and a treatment group(n=25). The rats in both the model group and the treatment group were subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion to establish a model of focal cerebral ischemia. Rats with limb-spasm met the inclusion criteria. Only the left carotid artery was isolated in sham group rats. Three days after modeling, the treatment group was subjected to catgut implantation at Dazhui(GV 14), Guanyuan(CV 4), and Zhongwan(CV 12). Neurological deficit symptoms were assessed with the Zea-Longa neurological deficit score. The Modified Ashworth Scale(MAS), and isolated muscle tone were used to evaluate spasticity before and after treatment. Immunohistochemistry was applied to determine the expression of GABAB and mGluR1 in the rat brain stem after treatment.RESULTS: After treatment, neural impairment symptoms had significantly improved in the treatment group when compared to the model group(P<0.05). Both MAS and isolated muscle tone in the treatment group were significantly decreased when compared with the model group(P<0.05),and were also lower than before treatment. GABAB expression was significantly higher and mGluR1 was lower in the treatment group when compared with the model group(P<0.01 and P<0.05, respectively).CONCLUSION: Catgut implantation at Dazhui(GV 14), Guanyuan(CV 4), and Zhongwan(CV 12), can relieve limb spasticity by increasing the expression of GABAB and reducing the expression of mGluR1 in the brain stem of rats after stroke. | Chengmei Liu Ruiqing Li Xiaolei Song Xiaodong Feng | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,5: | 14 |
| 2 | Alkali metal salts doped pluronic block polymers as electron injection/transport layers for high performance polymer light-emitting diodes显示文摘A series of alkali metal salts doped pluronic block copolymer F127 were used as electron injection/transport layers (ETLs) for polymer light-emitting diodes with poly[2-(4-(3′,7′-dimethyloctyloxy)-phenyl)-p-phenylenevinylene] (P-PPV) as the emission layer. It was found that the electron transport capability of F127 can be effectively enhanced by doping with alkali metal salts. By using Li2CO3 (15%) doped F127 as ETL, the resulting device exhibited improved performance with a maximum luminous efficiency (LE) of 13.59 cd/A and a maximum brightness of 5529 cd/m2, while the device with undoped F127 as ETL only showed a maximum LE of 8.78 cd/A and a maximum brightness of 2952 cd/m2. The effects of the doping concentration, cations and anions of the alkali metal salts on the performance of the resulting devices were investigated. | 3 | Dendrocalamus latiflorus and its component rutin exhibit glucose-lowering activities by inhibiting hepatic glucose production via AKT activation显示文摘The potential medicinal value of Ma bamboo(Dendrocalamus latiflorus), one of the most popular and economically important bamboo species in China, has been underestimated. In the present study, we found that D. latiflorus leaf extract(DLE) reduced fasting blood glucose levels, body weight,and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol with low liver toxicity in db/db mice. In addition, gene expression profiling was performed and pathway enrichment analysis showed that DLE affected metabolic pathways.Importantly, DLE activated the AKT signaling pathway and reduced glucose production by downregulating glucose-6-phosphatase(G6 PC) and phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1(PCK1) expression. Moreover, network pharmacology analysis identified rutin as an active component in DLE through targeting insulin growth factor 1 receptor(IGF1 R), an upstream signaling transducer of AKT. | 4 | A novel crosslinkable electron injection/transporting material for solution processed polymer light-emitting diodes显示文摘A novel crosslinkable water/alcohol soluble conjugated polymer PFN-C containing oxetane groups and aminoalkyl groups in the side chains has been developed and used as highly efficient electron injection and transporting material for polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs). The unique solubility in polar solvents and crosslinkable ability of PFN-C render it a good can- didate for solution processed multilayer PLEDs. It was found that PFN-C can greatly enhance the electron injection from high work-function metal cathode, due to its pendant amino groups. As a result, PLEDs with PFN-C/Al cathode exhibited compara- ble device performance to the devices with Ba/Al cathode. | 5 | Research progress in rehabilitation treatment of stroke patients A bibliometric analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND: Stroke presents as a transient or chronic brain dysfunction and is associated with high morbidity and high mortality. The doctors and scientists would like to argue how to enhance the validity of the rehabilitation treatment and how to further improve the level of treatment on stroke. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to quantitatively analyze the current worldwide progress in research on stroke rehabilitation treatment based on Web of Science database and ClinicalTrial.gov in the past 10 years. METHODS: We conducted a quantitative analysis of clinical trial articles regarding stroke rehabilitation published in English from 2003 to 2013 and indexed in the National Institutes of Health Clinical Trials registry and Web of Science databases. Data were downloaded on March 15, 2013. RESULTS: (1) From 2003 to 2013, 2 654 clinical trials investigating stroke were indexed in ClinicalTrials.gov. There were only 58 clinical trials registered in 2003, and there was a marked increase from 2005. A total of 605 clinical trials on the rehabilitation of stroke were conducted in the past 10 years. (2) The analysis showed that most of the trials in the field were registered by North American institutions. With respect to the Asian countries, China and Taiwan Region of China also published a reasonable proportion of the trials, but comparatively speaking, the number of trials is really rare. Most of the interventions were drugs, followed by the devices, and behavioral interventions were ranked third. (3) In the past 10 years, there were 4 052 studies on stroke indexed by Web of Science database. | 6 | Study on Pretreatment during Simultaneous Determination of Sulfonamides and Chloramphenicols in Honey显示文摘[Objective]This study was conducted to establish a new UPLC-MS method for simultaneous detection of sulfonamides and chloramphenicols in honey.[Method]In this experiment,0.2%formic acid-acetonitrile was used as an extractant to simultaneously extract chloramphenicols and sulfonamides from drugs.The extract was then loaded and extracted with an efficient separation column Oasis~?PRiME HLB.After nitrogen blow-concentration and dissolution with mobile phase,the extract was loaded on UPLC and detected by MS.[Result]There was a good linear relation in the range of 0.1-10ng/ml for chloramphenicols,with a correlation coefficient of 0.991,while sulfonamides had a good linear relation in the range of 0.5-50ng/ml.The lowest detection limit of chloramphenicols and sulfonamides were 0.1and 0.5μg/kg,respectively.The recoveries were in the range of 82.50%-101.2%,with RSDvalues in the range of 3.2%-4.0%.[Conclusion]This method is simple and fast with low detection limit,high recovery and good reproducibility,and could be used for simultaneous detection of residual chloramphenicols and sulfonamides in honey. | Guangfeng ZHONG Xiaoling LIU Chengmei WANG | 2017 | Agricultural Biotechnology2017,6,2: | 2 |
| 7 | Characterization of coal burning-derived individual particles emitted from an experimental domestic stove显示文摘Coal combustion in the domestic stoves, which is common in most parts of the Chinese countryside, can release harmful substances into the air and cause health issues. In this study, particles emitted from laboratory stove combustion of the raw powder coals were analyzed for morphologies and chemical compositions by using transmission electron microscopy(TEM) coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry(EDX). The coal burning-derived individual particles were classified into two groups: carbonaceous particles(including soot aggregates and organic particles) and non-carbonaceous particles(including sulfate, mineral and metal particles). The non-carbonaceous particles, which constituted a majority of the coal burning-derived emissions, were subdivided into Si-rich, S-rich, K-rich,Ca-rich, and Fe-rich particles according to the elemental compositions. The Si-rich, S-rich and K-rich particles are commonly observed in the coal burning emission. The proportions for particles of different types exhibit obvious coal-issue dependence. Burning of coal with high ash yield could emit more non-carbonaceous particles, and burning of coal with high sulfur content can emit more S-rich particles.
