| 1 | Investigating Lightning Characteristics through a Supercell Storm by Comprehensive Coordinated Observations over North China显示文摘Electrical characteristics of an isolated supercell storm observed on 13 June 2014 over Beijing were investigated using lightning data obtained from the Beijing Lightning Network,radar reflectivity,and hydrometeor retrievals during the 6-h lifetime.Positive cloud-to-ground(+CG)lightning took a high percentage of CG lightning.Before and during a hail event,+CG lightning was more frequent than negative cloud-to-ground(-CG)lightning,except that+CG lightning took a high percentage at the beginning and in the dissipating stage.After the hail event ended,-CG lightning dominated and reached its maximum value.An analysis of hydrometeors retrieved by X-band polarimetric radar revealed that the discharge concentrated in the convective region with graupel particles and hailstones,whereas graupel,snow and ice crystals in the stratiform region.Lightning radiation sources were located mainly in the convective region,some of which were distributed along a gradient of radar reflectivity from the convective region to the stratiform region.The indication is that the supercell demonstrated an inverted tripole charge structure before the hail event,which converted to a normal tripole structure after the hail event. | Dongxia LIU Xiushu QIE Yichen CHEN Zhuling SUN Shanfeng YUAN | 2020 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2020,37,8: | 4 |
| 2 | Collaborative Filtering Algorithms Based on Kendall Correlation in Recommender Systems显示文摘In this work, Kendall correlation based collaborative filtering algorithms for the recommender systems are proposed. The Kendall correlation method is used to measure the correlation amongst users by means of considering the relative order of the users’ ratings. Kendall based algorithm is based upon a more general model and thus could be more widely applied in e-commerce. | 3 | Roles of State Strategy of Adaptation to Climate Change in China显示文摘For the adverse impacts of climate change, China gov- ernment should place the problem of adaptation to climate change on the agenda. It is time to institute and implement a state adap- tive strategy to reduce the adverse impacts on economy, commu- nity and people's health and life by international cooperation and our own endeavor. A state strategy of adaptation to climate change should be closely linked with other current interrelated national strategies, and they should be supplemented and improved by each other. This paper discusses the roles of the state strategy of adaptation to climate change in the state climate change integra- tive strategy, the environmental protection strategy, and the sus- tainable development strategy in China. | 5 | Comparative assessment and essential analysis on new international GHG emission reduction proposals显示文摘Since Kyoto Protocol came into force on February 16, 2005, the endeavor by international society to combat the climate change has stepped into a new milestone. The greenhouse gas (GHG) abatement mechanisms in Kyoto Protocol have served a remarkable function but also been questioned during the practices of past three years about its environmental effectiveness. A lot of new international GHG emission reduction proposals are proposed from many new aspects, some of which especially impose pressure on developing countries. So it is of great importance to research on these new proposals in time for negotiation beyond Kyoto and institution of Chinese relevant climate policies. As this paper focuses on the way of commitment distribution of mechanisms, the mechanisms here are categorized in one of two types: those distribute commitment based on countries and those based on sectors. | 6 | Geological and geochemical prediction on deeply-seated ore-bodies in Haigou gold deposit of Jilin,China显示文摘Lode 28 is the largest gold-bearing quartz vein in Haigou gold deposit,and the lode itself contains more than 30t of gold. Geochemical study shows that 12 trace elements related gold mineralization can be divided into 5 metallogenic factors(element assemblages) .The high values of F1,F2 and F4 together indicate overlapped of multiple stages of gold mineralization,revealing high potential of gold mineralization at depth;the single high value of F4 represents the root of an existing ore body while high values of F3 and F4 show the intervals of barren sectors in the lode. Comprehensive geochemical studies show the high prospection potential below the 14th level and between lines 39-71. | 15 | Computational Methods for Prediction of Human Protein-Phenotype Associations:A Review显示文摘Deciphering the relationship between human proteins(genes)and phenotypes is one of the fundamental tasks in phenomics research.The Human Phenotype Ontology(HPO)builds upon a standardized logical vocabulary to describe the abnormal phenotypes encountered in human diseases and paves the way towards the computational analysis of their genetic causes.To date,many computational methods have been proposed to predict the HPO annotations of proteins.In this paper,we conduct a comprehensive review of the existing approaches to predicting HPO annotations of novel proteins,identifying missing HPO annotations,and prioritizing candidate proteins with respect to a certain HPO term.For each topic,we first give the formalized description of the problem,and then systematically revisit the published literatures highlighting their advantages and disadvantages,followed by the discussion on the challenges and promising future directions.In addition,we point out several potential topics to be worthy of exploration including the selection of negative HPO annotations and detecting HPO misannotations.We believe that this review will provide insight to the researchers in the field of computational phenotype analyses in terms of comprehending and developing novel prediction algorithms. | Lizhi Liu Shanfeng Zhu | 2021 | Phenomics2021,1,4: | 1 |
| 16 | Projecting Spatial Patterns of Flood Hazard: Recent Climate and Future Changes over Yangtze River Basin显示文摘Projection of hazard changes in climate extremes is critical to assessing the potential impacts of climate change on human and natural systems. Using simulations of providing regional climates for impacts studies, five indicators (rainstorm days, maximum 3-day precipitation, elevation, gradient and distance from river or lake) were selected to project the spatial patterns of flood hazard over Yangtze River Basin for the baseline period (1961– 1990) and future (2011–2100) under SRES B2 scenario. The results showed the mean annual rainstorm days over the basin by the near-term, mid-term and long-term would increase from 3.9 days to 4.7, 4.9 and 5.1 days, and the mean annual maximum 3-day precipitation from 122 mm to 143, 146 and 149 mm, respectively. The flood hazard of the basin would become more severe, especially in the middle and lower reaches.
