1A Comparative Study of the Seismic Performances and Failure Mechanisms of Slopes Using Dynamic Centrifuge Modeling显示文摘In this study, dynamic centrifuge model tests were performed for sand slopes under different earthquake ground motions and slope angle to characterize the seismic performance of slopes. Four groups of tests under varying seismic input amplitude were conducted. Under the action of increasing earthquake intensity, the rigidity of the soil decreases and the damping ratio increases, both of the dynamic response and the predominant period of slopes are increased. Three types of seismic waves with the same seismic intensity were applied in the model tests. It shows that the variability in the ground motion leads to the acceleration response spectra of the slopes being completely different and the Northridge seismic wave with low-frequency component is closest to the predominant period of the slope model. In addition, the effect of slope angle on the seismic performance of slopes were also clarified. The results reveal how the slope angle affects the acceleration recorded on the ground surface of the slope, both in terms of the peak ground-motion acceleration(PGA) amplification factor and the predominant period. Finally, the permanent displacement of the model slopes under different earthquake intensities were further analyzed. 3Novel SFTSV Phylogeny Reveals New Reassortment Events and Migration Routes显示文摘Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus(SFTSV),the causative agent of a febrile human disease,was first identified from central and eastern provinces in China,and later in Japan and South Korea.Hubei Province is one of the major SFTS epidemic areas in the central part of China.This study reported the isolation of 11 new SFTSV strains from patients in Hubei Province collected in 2017.Extensive phylogenetic analyses were conducted based on the complete coding sequences of SFTSV segments including the new strains.It was suggested that five different SFTSV genotypes were circulating in Hubei,and 15 reassortment patterns and migration pathways correlated with each genotype were identified,which was more than previously recognized.Hubei Province was more involved in the evolutionary events of SFTSV than that previously thought in which the evolutionary events of SFTSV were reported to be independent from those in other epidemic regions.Further divergence of SFTSV strains was suggested by pairwise comparison of SFTSV sequences from each genotype and sequence identity normalized to representative strain in genotype C1.Subsequently,amino acid variations specific for genotype(s),strain(s),or cluster(s)were inspected,which may be related to differential biological activity of SFTSV strains/genotypes.In conclusion,we analyzed the current status of SFTSV phylogeny in Hubei Province and discussed the possible events correlated to SFTSV evolution.It provided an in-depth insight into SFTSV evolution,raising concerns for the use of proper SFTSV strains in future studies.Xiaoli Wu Mingyue Li Yanfang Zhang Boyun Liang Junming Shi Yaohui Fang Zhengyuan Su Mengmeng Li Wenjing Zhang Ling Xu Jun Wang Qiaoli Wu Shuang Tang Hualin Wang Tao Zhang Cheng Peng Xin Zheng Fei Deng Shu Shen 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,2:2

10HearNPV Pseudotyped with PIF1,2,and 3 from MabrNPV:Infectivity and Complex Stability显示文摘Effective oral infection is set off by interaction of a group of conserved per os infectivity factors(PIFs) with larval midgut columnar epithelial cells. We constructed pseudotyped viruses by substituting pif1, pif2 or pif3 genes of Helicoverpa armigera nucleopolyhedrovirus(Hear NPV) with their homologs from Mamestra bracissae multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus and tested their infectivity to tissue culture cells and to larvae. Transfection and infection assays revealed that all recombinant viruses generated infectious budded virus in both cell culture and in larvae. Electron microscopy showed synthesized occlusion body and occlusion derived virus(ODV) were morphologically indistinguishable from those of the parental virus. By contrast, feeding assays revealed that pseudotyped viruses could not rescue oral infectivity except for pif3 pseudotyped virus that only partially rescued oral infectivity but at a mortality rate much lower than that of the parental Hear NPV. Consistent with the bioassay result, PIF complex was detected in ODVs of pif3 pseudotyped virus only but not in pif1 or pif2 pseudotyped viruses.
