| 5 | Experimental comparison between aircraft fuel tank inerting processes using NEA and MIG显示文摘Fuel tank inerting technologies are able to reduce the fire risk by injection of inert gas into the ullage or fuel, the former called ullage washing and the latter fuel scrubbing. The Green On-Board Inert Gas Generation System(GOBIGGS) is a novel technology based on flameless catalytic combustion, and owning to its simple structure and high inerting efficiency, it has received a lot of attentions. The inert gas in the GOBIGGS is mainly comprised of CO_2, N_2, and O_2(hereinafter, Mixed Inert Gas(MIG)), while that in the On-Board Inert Gas Generation System(OBIGGS), which is one of the most widely used fuel tank inerting technologies, is NitrogenEnriched Air(NEA). The solubility of CO_2 is nearly 20 times higher than that of N_2 in jet fuels,so the inerting capability and performance are definitely disparate if the inert gas is selected as NEA or MIG. An inerting test bench was constructed to compare the inerting capabilities between NEA and MIG. Experimental results reveal that, if ullage washing is adopted, the variations of oxygen concentrations on the ullage and in the fuel are nearly identical no matter the inert gas is NEA or MIG. | 11 | DNA N^6-methyladenine demethylase ALKBH1 enhances osteogenic differentiation of human MSCs显示文摘ALKBH1 was recently discovered as a demethylase for DNA N^6-methyladenine(N6-m A), a new epigenetic modification, and interacts with the core transcriptional pluripotency network of embryonic stem cells.However, the role of ALKBH1 and DNA N6-m A in regulating osteogenic differentiation is largely unknown.In this study, we demonstrated that the expression of ALKBH1 in human mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)was upregulated during osteogenic induction. Knockdown of ALKBH1 increased the genomic DNA N6-m A levels and significantly reduced the expression of osteogenic-related genes, alkaline phosphatase activity, and mineralization. ALKBH1-depleted MSCs also exhibited a restricted capacity for bone formation in vivo.By contrast, the ectopic overexpression of ALKBH1 enhanced osteoblastic differentiation. Mechanically,we found that the depletion of ALKBH1 resulted in the accumulation of N6-m A on the promoter region of ATF4, which subsequently silenced ATF4 transcription. In addition, restoring the expression of ATP by adenovirus-mediated transduction successfully rescued osteogenic differentiation. | 12 | Heavy mineral assemblage characteristics and the Cenozoic paleogeographic evolution in southwestern Qaidam Basin显示文摘Based on the analysis of heavy mineral assemblages in Cenozoic southwestern Qaidam Basin, we found that different areas have variable heavy mineral assemblage characteristics, which suggested that there were two source areas—the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains. In Ganchaigou-Shizigou-Huatugou(Area A), which was mainly source from the Altyn Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly composed of zircon, Ti-oxides, and wollastonite in the Paleoceneearly Eocene and mainly of unstable minerals, especially amphibole, in the middle Eocene-Oligene. Since the late OligoceneMiocene, the heavy minerals were still mainly unstable minerals, but the content of epidote increased and the content of amphibole decreased. In Qigequan-Hongliuquan(Area B), which was the mixed source from the Altyn Mountains and the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, its heavy minerals were mainly garnet, epidote, and amphibole. The source of LücaotanDongchaishan-Kunbei(Area C) was mainly from the Qimen Tagh-East Kunlun Mountains, heavy minerals in the sediments in Area C were mainly zircon and Ti-oxides in Paleogene and garnet, epidote, and amphibole in Neogene. In Yuejin-Youshashan(Area D), where the stable minerals and unstable minerals were present simultaneously, the heavy mineral assemblages was controlled by multi-direction source. The variation of heavy mineral assemblages in southwestern Qaidam Basin shows that Altyn Mountains was of low-lying topographic relief in Paleocene-early Eocene, and the rapid uplift of Altyn Mountains started from the middle Eocene. In Paleogene, the Altyn Tagh Fault had a slow strike-slip velocity, but the strike-slip velocity increased greatly since the late Oligocene, leading to a strike-slip displacement above 300 km since Neogene. | 19 | Klotho in Osx+-mesenchymal progenitors exerts pro-osteogenic and anti-inflammatory effects during mandibular alveolar bone formation and repair显示文摘Maxillofacial bone defects are commonly seen in clinical practice.A clearer understanding of the regulatory network directing maxillofacial bone formation will promote the development of novel therapeutic approaches for bone regeneration.The fibroblast growth factor(FGF)signalling pathway is critical for the development of maxillofacial bone.Klotho,a type I transmembrane protein,is an important components of FGF receptor complexes.Recent studies have reported the presence of Klotho expression in bone.However,the role of Klotho in cranioskeletal development and repair remains unknown.Here,we use a genetic strategy to report that deletion of Klotho in Osx-positive mesenchymal progenitors leads to a significant reduction in osteogenesis under physiological and pathological conditions.Klotho-deficient mensenchymal progenitors also suppress osteoclastogenesis in vitro and in vivo.Under conditions of inflammation and trauma-induced bone loss,we find that Klotho exerts an inhibitory function on inflammation-induced TNFR signaling by attenuating Rankl expression.More importantly,we show for the first time that Klotho is present in human alveolar bone,with a distinct expression pattern under both normal and pathological conditions.In summary,our results identify the mechanism whereby Klotho expressed in Osx+-mensenchymal progenitors controls osteoblast differentiation and osteoclastogenesis during mandibular alveolar bone formation and repair.Klotho-mediated signaling is an important component of alveolar bone remodeling and regeneration.It may also be a target for future therapeutics. | Yi Fan Chen Cui Clifford JRosen Tadatoshi Sato Ruoshi Xu Peiran Li Xi Wei Ruiye Bi Quan Yuan Chenchen Zhou | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,6: | 3 |
| 20 | The tuning of pore structures and acidity for Zn/Al layered double hydroxides:The application on selective hydrodesulfurization for FCC gasoline显示文摘Co–Mo catalysts applied on the hydrodesulfurization(HDS) for FCC gasoline were prepared with Zn–Al layered double hydroxides(LDHs) to improve their performances,and the effects of pore structures and acidity on HDS performances were studied in detail. A series of Zn–Al/LDHs samples with different pore structures and acidities are synthesized on the bases of co-precipitation of OH-,CO2-,Al3+,and Zn2+. The neutralization p H is a main factor to affect the pore structures and acidity of Zn–Al/LDHs,and a series of Zn–Al/LDHs with different pore structures and acidities are obtained. Based on the representative samples with different specific surface areas(SBET) and acidities,three Co Mo/LDHs catalysts were prepared,and their HDS performances were compared with traditional Co Mo/Al2O3 catalysts. The results indicated that catalysts prepared with high SBETpossessed high HDS activity,and Br?nsted acid sites could reduce the thiol content in the product to some extent.
