| 1 | Sources and characteristics of fine particles over the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea using online single particle aerosol mass spectrometer显示文摘Marine aerosols over the East China Seas are heavily polluted by continental sources. During the Chinese Comprehensive Ocean Experiment in November 2012, size and mass spectra of individual atmospheric particles in the size range from 0.2 to 2.0 μm were measured on board by a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer(SPAMS). The average hourly particle number(PN)was around 4560 ± 3240 in the South Yellow Sea(SYS), 2900 ± 3970 in the North Yellow Sea(NYS), and 1700 ± 2220 in the Bohai Sea(BS). PN in NYS and BS varied greatly over 3 orders of magnitude, while that in SYS varied slightly. The size distributions were fitted with two log-normal modes. Accumulation mode dominated in NYS and BS, especially during episodic periods. Coarse mode particles played an important role in SYS. Particles were classified using an adaptive resonance theory based neural network algorithm(ART-2a). Six particle types were identified with secondary-containing, aged sea-salt, soot-like, biomass burning, fresh sea-salt,and lead-containing particles accounting for 32%, 21%, 18%, 16%, 4%, and 3% of total PN,respectively. Aerosols in BS were relatively enriched in particles from anthropogenic sources compared to SYS, probably due to emissions from more developed upwind regions and indicating stronger influence of continental outflow on marine environment. Variation of source types depended mainly on origins of transported air masses. This study examined rapid changes in PN, size distribution and source types of fine particles in marine atmospheres. | 3 | Molecular Design of Synthetic Biodegradable Polymersas Cell Scaffold Materials显示文摘Poly(lactic acid) and its copolymers are regarded as the most useful biomaterials. The good biocompatibility, biodegradability and mechanical properties of them make the synthetic biodegradable polymers have primary application to tissue engineering. The advantages and disadvantages of the synthetic biodegradable polymers as cell scaffold materials are evaluated. This article reviews the modification of polylactide-family aliphatic polymers to improve the cell affinity when the polymers are used as cell scaffolds. We have developed four main approaches: to modify polyester cell scaffolds in combination of plasma treating and collagen coating; to introduce hydrophilic segments into aliphatic polyester backbones; to introduce pendant functional groups into polyester chains; to modify polyester with dextran. | 5 | Effects of Oxymatrine on the NF-kappa B expression of HaCaT cells显示文摘Objective: To study the effect of oxymatrine on the expression of nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB) of Human benign epidermal keratinocytes line(HaCaT cells). Methods:HaCaT cells were cultured with different concentration of Oxymatrine(10μg/ml, 50μg/ ml and 100 μg/ml) for 24 h, then 10- mol/L Substance P was added to the cells. After 30 min, NF-κB expression in the cells was 5 observed by immunocytochemistry, NF-κB P65 protein expression was evaluated by Western blot, and the mRNA expression of NF-κB P65 was evaluated by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The 10- mol/L Substance P and culture medium were 5 added to the Substance P group and control group, respectively. Results:In control group, expression rate of positive cells, the expressions of protein and mRNA of NF-κB were all low. In Substance P group, when 10- mol/L Substance P was added, the expres-sions were all 5 increased(P < 0.05). But in Oxymatrine groups, the expression rate of positive cells, the expressions of protein and mRNA were all descended in a concentration-dependent manner(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). | 6 | Changes in chemical composition,structural and functional microbiome during alfalfa(Medicago sativa)ensilage with Lactobacillus plantarum PS-8显示文摘Improving silage production by adding exogenous microorganisms not only maximizes nutrient preservation,but also extends product shelf life.Herein,changes in the quality and quantity of Lactobacillus plantarum PS-8(PS-8)-inoculated alfalfa(Medicago sativa)during silage fermentation were monitored at d 0,7,14,and 28(inoculum dose of PS-8 was 1105 colony forming units[cfu]/g fresh weight;50 kg per bag;10 bags for each time point)by reconstructing metagenomic-assembled genomes(MAG)and Growth Rate InDex(GRiD).Our results showed that the exogenous starter bacterium,PS-8 inoculation,became the most dominating strain by d 7,and possibly played a highly active role throughout the fermentation process.The pH value of the silage decreased greatly,accompanied by the growth of acidproducing microorganisms namely PS-8,which inhibited the growth of harmful microorganisms like molds(4.18 vs.1.42 log cfu/g)and coliforms(4.95 vs.0.66 log most probable number[MPN]/g).The content of neutral detergent fiber(NDF)decreased significantly(41.6%vs.37.6%;dry matter basis).In addition,the abundance and diversity of genes coding microbial carbohydrate-active enzymes(CAZymes)increased significantly and desirably throughout the fermentation,particularly the genes responsible for degrading starch,arabino-xylan,and cellulose.Overall,our results showed that PS-8 was replicating rapidly and consistently during early-and mid-fermentation phases,promoting the growth of beneficial lactic acid bacteria and inhibiting undesirable microbes,ultimately improving the quality of silage. | Lijun You Weichen Bao Caiqing Yao Feiyan Zhao Hao Jin Weiqiang Huang Bohai Li Lai-Yu Kwok Wenjun Liu | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,2: | 2 |

| 8 | New Fossil Liverworts from the Lower Cretaceous of Western Liaoning, China显示文摘Sixteen liverwort specimens collected from the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation of Huangbanjigou Village, Liaoning Province, China are studied in this work. The plants are thalloid and preserved in brown arenaceous mudstone as impressions. Based on examinations, the liverworts are assigned to two new genera and five new species: Riccardiothallus palmata sp. nov., Pallaviciniites stricta sp. nov., Pellites latithallus gen. et sp. nov., Conocephalumites hexagonites gen. et sp. nov. and Metzgerites multifidus sp. nov., belonging to five families and five genera. The fossil research indicates that the divergence of families, Aneuraceae and Metzgeriaceae, Pallaviciniaceae and Hymenophytaceae,Pelliaceae and Fossombroniaceae, was in the Lower Cretaceous(125 Ma). | 11 | Catalytic ozonation of NH_(4)^(+)-N in wastewater over composite metal oxide catalyst显示文摘Large amounts of water containing-ammonium nitrogen(NH_(4)^(+)-N)have attracted increasing attention.Catalytic ozonation technology,involving the generation of hydroxyl radical(OH)with strong oxidation ability,was originally utilized to degrade organic-containing wastewater.In this paper,Ce/MnOx composite metal oxide catalysts prepared with different preparation conditions were used to degrade wastewater containing inorganic pollutant(NH_(4)^(+)-N).The as-prepared catalyst features were characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRD),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method(BET),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR)techniques.The results show that the catalyst,prepared by conditions with precipitant Na_(2)CO_(3) and Ce/Mn molar ratio 1:2 calcined at 400℃for 3 h in pH 11.0,displays the optimal performance,with the removal rate of NH_(4)^(+)-N and selectivity to gaseous nitrogen,88.14 wt%and 53.67 wt%,respectively.The effects of several operating factors including solution pH,initial NH_(4)^(+)-N concentrations and scavengers were evaluated.In addition,XRD patterns of catalyst with the best performance and the comparative study on decontamination of NH_(4)^(+)-N by various processes(O_(3),catalyst and catalyst/O_(3))show that the primary metal oxides are CeO_(2) and MnO_(2) in Ce/MnOx composite metal oxide catalysts,which have a synergistic effect on the catalytic ozonation of NH_(4)^(+)-N,and the new phase MnO_(2) plays a great role.After 5 consecutive use cycles,the degradation efficiency is declined slightly,and can still achieve better than 70 wt%over 1 h reaction.Additionally,the application of catalytic ozonation for actual wastewater on the removal rate of NH_(4)^(+)-N was investigated.Possible mechanism and degradation pathway of NH_(4)^(+)-N were also proposed.In a word,the application of CeO_(2)-MnO_(2) composite metal oxide catalysts in catalytic ozonation can be regarded as an effective,feasible and promising method for the treatment of NH_(4)^(+)-N. | Caiqing He Yunnen Chen Lin Guo Ruoyu Yin Tingsheng Qiu | 2022 | Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,1: | 1 |
