| 1 | Tensile Strength Characteristics of GFRP Bars in Concrete Beams with Work Cracks under Sustained Loading and Severe Environments显示文摘To investigate the effect of different environmental conditions of GFRP bars in concrete beams with work cracks subjected to sustained loads,the beams were exposed in indoor,freeze/thaw cycles and immersed in alkaline solution at elevated temperature.The bars were carefully extracted from the beams and tested in order to evaluate residual tensile properties.The results show that the tensile strength decreased significantly in the highly aggressive conditions but not in the natural conditions.The effect of GFRP bars casting in concrete beams demonstrated approximately 2.5% decrease of tensile strength caused by pore water environment in concrete beams on basis of those of the original bars.The effect of sustained loading plus work cracks demonstrated about 10.5% tensile strength decrease on basis of those of the bars only casted in concrete beams.The effect of environments under sustained loading plus work cracks demonstrated about 17% tensile strength decrease caused by a saturated solution of Ca(OH) 2 and 60±2 ℃ tap water(pH=12-13) and about 8% tensile strength decrease caused by freezing and thawing cycle(F/T),both on basis of those of the bars of the indoor beams only under sustained loading plus work cracks.The results demonstrate the effects of the tensile strengths under different environmental conditions of GFRP bars in concrete beams with work cracks subjected to sustained loads. | 何雄君 YANG Jingnan Charles E Bakis | 2013 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2013，28，5： | 4 |

| 3 | Flexible supercapacitor electrodes with vertically aligned carbon nanotubes grown on aluminum foils显示文摘In this work, vertically aligned carbon nanotubes(VACNTs) grown on aluminum foils were used as flexible supercapacitor electrodes. Aluminum foils were used as readily available, cheap and conductive substrates, and VACNTs were grown directly on these foils through chemical vapor deposition(CVD)method. Solution based ultrasonic spray pyrolysis(USP) method was used for the deposition of the CNT catalyst. Direct growth of VACNTs on aluminum foils ruled out both the internal resistance of the supercapacitor electrodes and the charge transfer resistance between the electrode and electrolyte. | 5 | IBM Voice Conversion Systems for 2007 TC-STAR Evaluation显示文摘This paper proposes a novel voice conversion method by frequency warping. The frequency warp-ing function is generated based on mapping formants of the source speaker and the target speaker. In addi-tion to frequency warping, fundamental frequency adjustment, spectral envelope equalization, breathiness addition, and duration modification are also used to improve the similarity to the target speaker. The pro-posed voice conversion method needs only a very small amount of training data for generating the warping function, thereby greatly facilitating its application. Systems based on the proposed method were used for the 2007 TC-STAR intra-lingual voice conversion evaluation for English and Spanish and a cross-lingual voice conversion evaluation for Spanish. The evaluation results show that the proposed method can achieve a much better quality of converted speech than other methods as well as a good balance between quality and similarity. The IBM1 system was ranked No. 1 for English evaluation and No. 2 for Spanish evaluation. | 6 | Cytotoxic, genotoxic and apoptotic effects of naringenin-oxime relative to naringenin on normal and cancer cell lines显示文摘Objective: To assess and compare the cytotoxic, genotoxic, apoptotic and reactive oxygen species(ROS) generating effects of naringenin(NG) and its new derived compound naringenin-oxime(NG-Ox) on MCF-7, HT-29, PC-12 cancer and L-929 normal cell lines.Methods: The cells were incubated with different doses of NG-Ox and NG(50–1 000 mmol/L) for 24 h. The cell viability was assessed based on ATP cell viability assay.Intracellular accumulation of ROS was determined using the fluorescent probes 2070-dichlorodihydrofluorescin diacetate. Genotoxic effects were evaluated by alkaline single cell gel electrophoresis assay(comet assay) and, the apoptotic effect was evaluated by acridine orange staining at below the IC50 levels.Results: Both NG-Ox and NG exhibited cytotoxic, genotoxic and apoptotic effects and resulted in increased ROS values in a dose-dependent manner. The effects were more pronounced on cancer cell lines. The cytotoxic, genotoxic and apoptotic effects of NG-Ox were higher than that of NG in all cell lines. Significant correlations were observed between cell viability, DNA damage, apoptosis and ROS, in all cell lines exposed to either NG-Ox or NG.Conclusions: This study showed that both NG-Ox and NG possess cytotoxic, genotoxic and apoptotic activities through the production of ROS on cells, NG-Ox being the more effective one.
