1Current technology development for CO2 utilization into solar fuels and chemicals:A review显示文摘The continuous consumption of fossil fuels causes two important impediments including emission of large concentrations of CO2 resulting in global warming and alarming utilization of energy assets.The conversion of greenhouse gas CO2 into solar fuels can be an expedient accomplishment for the solution of both problems,all together.CO2 reutilization into valuable fuels and chemicals is a great challenge of the current century.Owing to limitations in traditional approaches,there have been developed many novel technologies such as photochemical,biochemical,electrochemical,plasma-chemical and solar thermochemical.They are currently being used for CO2 capture,sequestration,and utilization to transform CO2 into valuable products such as syngas,methane,methanol,formic acid,as well as fossil fuel consumption reduction.This review summarizes different traditional and novel thermal technologies used in CO2 conversion with detailed information about their working principle,types,currently adopted methods,developments,conversion rates,products formed,catalysts and operating conditions.Moreover,a comparison of these novel technologies in terms of distinctive key features such as conversion rate,yield,use of earth metals,renewable energy,investment,and operating cost has been provided in order to have a useful review for future research direction.Azeem Mustafa Bachirou Guene Lougou Yong Shuai Zhijiang Wang Heping Tan 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,10:16
2Antibacterial activity of the essential oils from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus显示文摘Objective:To examine the in vitro antimicrobial activities of essential oil of the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus(E.globulus).Methods:The essential oils of this plant were obtained by the hydrodistillation method.The inhibitory effects of this essential oil were tested against Escherichia coli(E.coli)and Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus)by using agar disc diffusion and dilution broth methods.Results:The results obtained showed that essential oil of the leaves of E.globulus has antimicrobial activity against gram negative bacteria(E.coli)as well as gram positive bacteria(S.aureus).Conclusion:The encouraging results indicate the essential oil of E.globulus leaves might be exploited as natural antibiotic for the treatment of several infectious diseases caused by these two germs,and could be useful in understanding the relations between traditional cures and current medicines.Bachir Raho G Benali M 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,9:7

4Analysis of CO_2 utilization into synthesis gas based on solar thermochemical CH_4-reforming显示文摘In this study, the solar thermochemical reactor performance for CO_2 utilization into synthesis gas(H_2+ CO) based on CH_4 reforming process was investigated in the context of carbon capture and utilization(CCU) technologies. The P1 radiation heat transfer model is adopted to establish the heat and mass transfer model coupled with thermochemical reaction kinetics. The reactor thermal behavior with direct heat transfer between gaseous reactant and products evolution and the effects of different structural parameters were evaluated. It was found that the reactor has the potential to utilize by ~60% of CO_2 captured with 40% of CH_4 co-fed into syngas(72.9% of H_2 and 27.1% of CO) at 741.31 k W/mof incident radiation heat flux. However, the solar irradiance heat flux and temperature distribution were found to significantly affect the reactant species conversion efficiency and syngas production. The chemical reaction is mainly driven by the thermal energy and higher species conversion into syngas was observed when the temperature distribution at the inner cavity of the reactor was more uniform. Designed a solar thermochemical reactor able to volumetric store concentrated irradiance could highly improve CCU technologies for producing energy-rich chemicals. Besides, the mixture gas inlet velocity, operating pressure and CO_2/CH_4 feeding ratio were crucial to determining the efficiency of CO_2 utilization to solar fuels. 9Spatial prediction and modeling of soil salinity using simple cokriging, artificial neural networks, and support vector machines in El Outaya plain, Biskra, southeastern Algeria显示文摘Soil salinization is one of the most predominant environmental hazards responsible for agricultural land degradation,especially in the arid and semi-arid regions.An accurate spatial prediction and modeling of soil salinity in agricultural land are so important for farmers and decision-makers to develop the appropriate mechanisms to prevent the loss of fertile soil and increase crop production.El Outaya plain is marked by soil salinity increases due to the excessive use of poor groundwater quality for irrigation.This study aims to compare the performance of simple kriging,cokriging(SCOK),multilayer perceptron neural networks(MLP-NN),and support vector machines(SVM)in the prediction of topsoil and subsoil salinity.The field covariates including geochemical properties of irrigation groundwater and physical properties of soil and environmental covariates including digital elevation model and remote sensing derivatives were used as input candidates to SCOK,MLP-NN,and SVM.The optimal input combination was determined using multiple linear stepwise regression(MLSR).The results revealed that the SCOK using field covariates including water electrical conductivity(ECw)and sand percentage(sand%),and environmental covariates including land surface temperature(LST),topographic wetness index(TWI),and elevation could significantly increase the accuracy of soil salinity spatial prediction.The comparison of the prediction accuracy of the different modeling techniques using the Taylor diagram indicated that MLP-NN using LST,TWI,and elevation as inputs were more accurate in predicting the topsoil salinity[ECs(TS)]with a mean absolute error(MAE)of 0.43,root mean square error(RMSE)of 0.6 and correlation coefficient of 0.946.MLP-NN using ECw and sand%as inputs were more accurate in predicting the subsoil salinity[ECs(SS)]with MAE of 0.38,RMSE of0.6,and R of 0.968.Samir Boudibi Bachir Sakaa Zineeddine Benguega Haroun Fadlaoui Tarek Othman Narimen Bouzidi 2021Acta Geochimica2021,40,3:3
10Impact of the Travelling Magnetic Field on the Metallic Impurities During the Crystallization of Photovoltaic Silicon显示文摘Silicon is the most extensively studied semiconductor mainly owing to its wide applicability in the photovoltaic solar cell industry.However the qualily of Si photovoltaic cells depends on the purity of the material and on the grain structure of the ingot from which the wafers are cutting.The electrical performance of such materials,i.e.mainly their minority carrier lifetime,is closely related to metal impurities present in the feedstock or introduced during crystal growth.These impurities strongly interact with existing crystal defects to form complexes,accumulate at dislocations or grain boundaries in different forms,or even form silieide precipitates,which simultaneously contain several metal impurities.In such a context,it is necessary to control the segregation of impurities especially metallic in the grown ingot in order to optimize the cell properties as a function of the raw material purity.A new Bridgman set-up is developed in order to study the crystallization of photovoltaic Si under independently controlled solidification parameters growth rate,thermal gradient,purity and convection.Convection,either natural or forced,plays a very important role during the crystallization.Its intensity and flow pattern affect heat and mass transfer and,consequently,macrostructure and segregation in a solidified ingot.Here the convection can be controlled by a travelling magnetic field in order to homogenize or segregate the rejected impurities such as metallic elements.The effects of the magnetic field intensity and frequency on the segregation and crystalline structure will be presented.Kader Zaidat Mircea Cablea Abdallah Nouri Ghatfan Hassan Bachir Saadi Olga.Budenkova Annie.Gagnoud Yves.Delannoy 2012Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2012,19,S1:2
11Circle-criterion Based Nonlinear Observer Design for Sensorless Induction Motor Control显示文摘This paper deals with the design of a nonlinear observer for sensorless induction motor control. Based upon the circle criterion approach, a nonlinear observer is designed to estimate pertinent but unmeasurable state variables of the considered induction machine for sensorless control purpose. The observer gain matrices are computed as a solution of linear matrix inequalities(LMI) that ensure the stability conditions of the state observer error dynamics in the sense of Lyapunov concepts. Measured and estimated state variables can be exploited to perform a state feedback control of the machine system. 13Analysis of heat flow diagram of small-scale power generation system:Innovative approaches for improving techno-economic and ecological indices显示文摘In this paper,the heat flow diagram of steam turbine model K-6-35 has been analyzed for innovative approaches towards improving the techno-economic and ecological indices of the small-scale power generation system.The numerical analysis is performed using IPSEpro process simulation software based on heat balance method under four different cases.It was found that the study of Solar Assisted Power Generation(SAPG)system has important practical significance in power generation with minimum pollutants and maximum efficiency.Both fuel-saving(FS)and power-boosting(PB)operation modes of the SAPG system are considered.Various types of stand-alone solar thermal power plants exhibited very low overall efficiency with many ecological advantages compared to the conventional thermal power plant based on fossil fuels.Besides,SAPG system with FS mode presented higher techno-economic indices and operation performance.An important reduction in fuel consumption and pollutant emissions could be obtained with SAPG system.Considering the hourly,daily,monthly,and yearly amount of saved fuel and reduced pollutants in the whole power plant,the SAPG system with FS mode can largely contribute to high ecological indices power generation.A thermal efficiency increased by 1.31%with specific equivalent fuel consumption decreased by 22.54 g/kWh was obtained with SAPG system.The coal consumption was reduced by 4.75%when SAPG system operates in FS mode.SHAGDAR Enkhbayar SHUAI Yong GUENE LOUGOU Bachirou GANBOLD Enkhjin CHINONSO Ogugua Paul TAN HePing 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,11:2
14Radiative heat transfer and thermal characteristics of Fe-based oxides coated SiC and Alumina RPC structures as integrated solar thermochemical reactor显示文摘This paper investigated radiative heat transfer and thermal characteristics of Fe-based oxides coated SiC and Alumina reticulated porous ceramic structures as integrated solar thermochemical reactor.High-flux solar radiation absorption and axial temperature distribution in the ceramic foams reactor were analyzed by adopting surface-to-surface radiation model coupled to the P1approximation for radiation heat transfer.The radiative heat transfer and thermal characteristics of different foam-type RPC structures,including SiC,CeO_2,FeAl_2O_4,NiFeAlO_4,Fe_3O_4/SiC,and NiFe_2O_4/SiC were evaluated.The mass flow rate and foam structural parameters,including the permeability,pore mean cell size,and extinction coefficients have significantly affected the axial temperature distribution,pressure drop,heat transfer,and fluid flow.Integrated porous structure to the solar receiver could maximize the incorporation of redox powder in the reacting medium,lower the pressure drop,and enhance the thermal performance of the thermochemical reacting system.SiC structure was the candidate materials in the case where more heat flux and high axial temperature distribution is needed.However,Fe-based oxide coated Al_2O_3structure could be considered regarding the heat transfer enhancement along with the catalyst activity of oxygen carriers for solar thermochemical reacting system performance.GUENE LOUGOU Bachirou SHUAI Yong PAN RuMing CHAFFA Gédéon AHOUANNOU Clément ZHANG Hao TAN HePing 2018Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,12:2
