2Influences of different forces on the bubble entrainment into a stationary Gaussian vortex显示文摘Simulations of bubble entrainment into a stationary Gaussian vortex are performed by using the combined particle tracking method(PTM)and boundary element method(BEM).Before the bubble is captured by the vortex core,oscillation and migration of the quasi-spherical nucleus are solved by using improved RP equation and the momentum theorem in the Lagrangian reference frame simultaneously,and the trajectory of the nucleus presents a kind of reduced helix shape.After captured by the vortex core,the bubble grows immediately and moves and deforms along the vortex core axis.The non-spherical evolution and deformation of the bubble is simulated by adopting a mixed Eulerian-Lagrangian method.The output of quasi-spherical stage is taken as the input of non-spherical stage,and all the behaviors of the entrained bubble can be simulated such as inception,motion,deformation and split.Numerical results agree well with published experimental data.On this basis,the influences of various factors such as viscosity,surface tension,buoyancy are studied systemically.Hopefully the results from this paper would provide some insight into the control on vortex bubble entrainment.ZHANG AMan NI BaoYu 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,11:15
3Association of frailty with all-cause mortality and bleeding among elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction: a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background Frailty is a multidimensional syndrome that reflects the physiological reserve of elderly.It is related to unfavorable outcomes in various cardiovascular conditions.We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the association of frailty with all-cause mortality and bleeding after acute myocardial infarction(AMI)in the elderly.Methods We comprehensively searched the databases of MEDLINE and EMBASE from inception to March 2019.The studies that reported mortality and bleeding in AMI patients who were evaluated and classified by frailty status were included.Data from each study were combined using the random-effects,generic inverse variance method of Der Simonian and Laird to calculate hazard ratio(HR),and 95%confidence interval(CI).Results Twenty-one studies from 2011 to 2019 were included in this meta-analysis involving 143,301 subjects(mean age 75.33-year-old,60.0%male).Frailty status was evaluated using different methods such as Fried Frailty Index.Frailty was statistically associated with increased early mortality in nine studies(pooled HR=2.07,95%CI:1.67-2.56,P<0.001,I^2=41.2%)and late mortality in 11 studies(pooled HR=2.30,95%CI:1.70-3.11,P<0.001,I^2=65.8%).Moreover,frailty was also statistically associated with higher bleeding in 7 studies(pooled HR=1.34,95%CI:1.12-1.59,P<0.001,I^2=4.7%).Conclusion Frailty is strongly and independently associated with bleeding,early and late mortality in elderly with AMI.Frailty assessment should be considered as an additional risk factor and used to guide toward personalized treatment strategies.Prapaipan Putthapiban Wasawat Vutthikraivit Pattara Rattanawong Weera Sukhumthammarat Napatt Kanjanahattakij Jakrin Kewcharoen Aman Amanullah 2020Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2020,17,5:10
4Apoptotic pathways as a therapeutic target for colorectal cancer treatment显示文摘Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer among adults. The disease begins as a benign adenomatous polyp, which develops into an advanced adenoma with high-grade dysplasia and then progresses to an invasive cancer. Appropriate apoptotic signaling is fundamentally important to preserve a healthy balance between cell death and cell survival and in maintaining genome integrity. Evasion of apoptotic pathway has been established as a prominent hallmark of several cancers. During colorectal cancer development, the balance between the rates of cell growth and apoptosis that maintains intestinal epithelial cell homeostasis gets progressively disturbed. Evidences are increasingly available to support the hypothesis that failure of apoptosis may be an important factor in the evolution of colorectal cancer and its poor response to chemotherapy and radiation. The other reason for targeting apoptotic pathway in the treatment of cancer is based on the observation that this process is deregulated in cancer cells but not in normal cells. As a result, colorectal cancer therapies designed to stimulate apoptosis in target cells would play a critical role in controlling its development and progression. A better understanding of the apoptotic signaling pathways, and the mechanisms by which cancer cells evade apoptotic death might lead to effective therapeutic strategies to inhibit cancer cell proliferation with minimal toxicity and high responses to chemotherapy. 5全透明高压反应釜甲烷水合物动力学实验显示文摘水合物的生长和分解规律对开发海洋天然气水合物资源,实现深水天然气水合物气液固多相管道输送都具有重要意义。为了进一步揭示水合物的生长和分解特性,本文采用高压全透明反应釜装置,进行了温度0~30℃、压力3.35~8.16MPa和搅拌速率200~1000r/min范围内的16组甲烷水合物生长和分解动力学实验研究。结果表明:实验过程可分为水合物诱导期、快速生长期、缓慢生长期以及分解期这4个阶段。在水合物快速生长阶段,获得了温度、压力、搅拌电机扭矩和水合物生长速率随时间的变化规律,观察到了水合物颗粒的均相和非均相分布状态。通过加热促使水合物分解,揭示了分解阶段温度、压力和分解速率等关键参数的变化规律以及水合物块的分解形态。分析表明,水合物颗粒的分布状态与水合物浆液的流动性直接相关;水合物块的静态分解过程受到分解气传质控制。黄婷 李长俊 李清平 丁麟 AMAN Zachary M 2020化工进展2020,39,7:10
6气水体系甲烷水合物生成和分解动力学显示文摘为进一步探明搅拌对甲烷水合物生成和分解动力学特性的影响,借助容积约为522mL,最高操作压力21MPa的高压全透明反应釜装置,开展了不同搅拌条件下甲烷水合物的生成、分解和浆液流动实验,得到了搅拌对水合物生成量、生长速率和分解速率的影响规律,基于搅拌电机扭矩值分析了不同搅拌速率下水合物浆液的流动特性。搅拌电机型号ViscoPakt Rheo-57,带有扭矩测量功能,测量最大范围57N·cm,精度±0.04N·cm。结果表明:在水合物开始快速生成的前期,水合物的最大生成量、最大生长速率及平稳生长速率都随搅拌速率的增大而增大,进一步验证了传质是控制水合物生成过程的首要因素;在水合物分解阶段,搅拌能提高水合物颗粒的分散性,促进分解气的运移产出;此外,不同搅拌速率下,水合物浆液的电机扭矩随着水合物体积分数的增大都呈现先保持平稳再逐渐增大最后剧烈波动的规律,由此得到了水合物浆液携带固相颗粒的临界体积分数。研究结论在一定程度上揭示了水合物的生长和分解机理,为动力学预测模型研究提供了参考。黄婷 李长俊 丁麟 李清平 ZACHARY M Aman 2020化工进展2020,39,8:6
7Tomato lycopene attenuates myocardial infarction induced by isoproterenol:Electrocardiographic,biochemical and anti-apoptotic study显示文摘Objective:To assess the protective effects of lycopene on electrocardiographic,hemodynamic, biochemical and apoptotic changes in isoproterenol induced myocardial infarction.Methods: Myocardial infarction was induced in rats by subcutaneous injection of isoproterenol(200 mg/kg) for two consecutive days at an interval of 24 h.Rats were treated with lycopene(10 mg/kg/day, p.o.) for a period of 30 days and isoproterenol(ISO) was injected on the 29th and 30th day.At the end of experiment i.e.on the 31st day electrocardiographic,hemodynamic,biochemical and apoptotic changes were monitored from control and experimental groups.Results:ISO injected ruts showed a significant alteration in electrocardiograph pattern and hemodynamic changes(i.e. systolic,diastolic and mean arterial pressure).It also showed significant increase in C-reactive protein,myeloperoxidase,nitrite levels and Caspase-3 protease activity.In addition,it also exhibited alteration in the levels of electrolytes(Na^+,K^+ and Ca^(2+),vitamin E,uric acid and serum protein.Cel electrophoresis of ISO injected rats showed increase in DNA fragmentation.Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining of the heart section shows increase area of infarction in ISO injected rats.Pre-co-treatment with lycopene significantly prevented the ISO induced ullerution in ECC, haemodynamic,biochemical and apoptotic changes.Conclusions:The present result shows that treatment of lycopene in ISO injected rats significantly attenuates induced myocardial infarction.Aman Upaganlawar Vaibhav Patel Balaraman R 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,5:6
8Maternal and fetal outcomes in term premature rupture of membrane显示文摘BACKGROUND: Premature rupture of membrane(PROM) is linked to significant maternal prenatal mortalities and morbidity. In Ethiopia, where maternal mortality is still high, the maternal and fetal outcomes in PROM is very important to decrease maternal and child mortality and for better management and prevention of complications. Thus, this study aimed to detect the maternal and fetal outcomes and associated factors in term PROM at Mizan-Aman General Hospital, south-west Ethiopia.METHODS: A retrospective cross sectional study was conducted using data available at MizanAman General Hospital during a period of 3 years(January 2011 to December 2013). We examined records of 4 525 women who gave birth in the hospital; out of these women, 185 were diagnosed with term PROM and all of them were included in the study. The data of these women were collected using a checklist based on registration books. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 statistical package. The association between independent and dependent variables was assessed by bivariate and multiple logistic regression analyses. 95%CI and P value less than 0.05 were considered statistically signifi cant.RESULTS: Of the 4 525 women who gave birth in the hospital, 202 were complicated by term PROM. About 22.2% of the women showed unfavorable maternal outcomes. The most common cause of maternal morbidity and mortality was puerperal sepsis. About 33.5% of neonates experienced unfavorable outcomes. The duration of PROM >12 hours(AOR=5.6, 95%CI 1.3–24.1) latency >24 hours(AOR=2.8, 95%CI 1.7–11.8), residing in rural areas(AOR=4.2, 95%CI 3.96–29.4) and birth weight less than 2 500 g were associated with unfavorable outcomes.CONCLUSION: Women residing in rural areas, long latency, and neonates with birth weight less 2 500 g may have unfavorable outcomes. 9Issues and mitigations of wind energy penetrated network:Australian network case study显示文摘Longest geographically connected Australian power system is undergoing an unprecedented transition,under the effect of increased integration of renewable energy systems. This change in generation mix has implications for the whole interconnected system designs, its operational strategies and the regulatory framework. Frequency control policies about real-time balancing of demand and supply is one of the prominent and priority operational challenge requiring urgent attention. This paper reviews the Australian electricity market structure in presence of wind energy and its governance. Various issues related to increased wind generation systems integration are discussed in detail. Currently applied mitigations along with prospective mitigation methods requiring new or improved policies are also discussed. 10Assessment of Diversity, Distribution, Conservation Status and Preparation of Management Plan for Medicinal Plants in the Catchment Area of Parbati Hydroelectric Project Stage-Ⅲ in Northwestern Himalaya显示文摘The developmental activities, particularly the construction of hydroelectric projects are causing a great loss of biodiversity in the Indian Himalayan Region. The Himachal Pradesh, a part of IHR is well known for the development of hydroelectric projects. The Parbati H.E. Project is amongst the major projects of the State. The different stages of the project are all causing loss of biodiversity of the area. Stage Ⅲ of the Parbati H.E. Project is a run of the river scheme on the Sainj River downstream of Power House of Parbati H.E. Project Stage Ⅱ. The project shall utilize regulated discharge of Parbati H.E. Project Stage Ⅱ and inflow of River Sainj for power generation, and has been contemplated as a peaking station operating in tandem with Stage Ⅱ. The present study has been undertaken to see the impact of hydroelectric project on the biodiversity, particularly on medicinal plants. A total of 104 species of medicinal plants, belonging to different life forms, i.e., trees (23 spp.), shrubs (22 spp.), herbs (57 spp.) and ferns (2 spp.) were recorded. The species have been analyzed and studied for their distribution, classification, altitudinal zones, part (s) used, indigenous uses, nativity, endemism and rarity.Different parts of these species, such as whole plants, roots (including rhizomes and tubers), leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, stems, barks, spikes, nuts and insect galls are used by the inhabitants for curing various diseases and ailments. 30 species are native to the Himalayan region, 9 species native to the Himalayan region and adjacent countries also and 65 species are non-natives. 9 species are near endemics. Considering the whole Himalaya as a biogeographic unit (sensu lato), the near endemics are endemic to the Himalaya. Among these species, Zanthoxylum armatum is categorized as Endangered and Valeriana wallichii as Vulnerable. Hedychium spicatum, Rhus javanica, Berberis lycium, Thalictrum foliolossum, Salvia lanata, Rubia cordifolia and Bergenia ligulata may be considered as threatened species due to their over exploitation for trade. 90 species are propagated by seeds, 8 species by seeds and rhizomes/roots/tubers, 4 species by seeds and cuttings, and 2 species by sori. A management plan for the cultivation and conservation of the medicinal plants in the dam submergence area, and the commercially viable medicinal plants with high value in the catchment area is suggested.S.S. 11Comparison between the 3D numerical simulation and experiment of the bubble near different boundaries显示文摘Based on the potential flow theory, the vortex ring is introduced to simulate the toroidal bubble, and the boundary element method is applied to simulate the evo- lution of the bubble. Elastic-plasticity of structure being taken into account, the interaction between the bubble and the elastic-plastic structure is computed by combining the boundary element method (BEM) and the finite element method (FEM), and a corresponding 3D computing program is developed. This program is used to simulate the three-dimensional bubble dynamics in free field, near wall and near the elastic-plastic structure, and the numerical results are compared with the existing experimental results. The error is within 10%. 12Low temperature annealing of metals with electrical wind force effects显示文摘Conventional annealing is a slow, high temperature process that involves heating atoms uniformly, i.e., in both defective and crystalline regions. This study explores an electrical alternative for energy efficiency,where moderate current density is used to generate electron wind force that produces the same outcome as the thermal annealing process. We demonstrate this on a zirconium alloy using in-situ electron back scattered diffraction(EBSD) inside a scanning electron microscope(SEM) and juxtaposing the results with that from thermal annealing. Contrary to common belief that resistive heating is the dominant factor, we show that 5 × 10~4 A/cm^2 current density can anneal the material in less than 15 min at only135?C. The resulting microstructure is essentially the same as that obtained with 600?C processing for360 min. We propose that unlike temperature, the electron wind force specifically targets the defective regions, which leads to unprecedented time and energy efficiency. 13Spectroscopic investigations on Dy^(3+) ions doped zinc lead alumino borate glasses for photonic device applications显示文摘This paper presents the structural, optical absorption, photoluminescence (PL) and decay spectral properties of Dy^(3+)ions doped zinc lead alumino borate (ZPAB) glasses to elucidate their possible usage in photonic devices such as w-LEDs and lasers. A broad hump shown by the XRD spectrum recorded for an un-doped ZPAB glass confirms its non-crystalline nature. The Judd-Ofelt (J-O) intensity parameter evaluated from the measured oscillator strengths of the absorption spectral features were used to estimate various radiative parameters and also to understand the nature of bonding between Dy^(3+)ions and oxygen ligands. Under 350 nm excitation, the as-prepared glasses are exhibiting two emission bands^4F_(9/2)→~6H_(15/2)(blue),and^4F_(9/2)→~6H_(13/2)(yellow) at 483 and 575 nm,respectively. From the PL spectra,the Y/B ratio values, CIE chromaticity color coordinates and color correlated temperature (CCT) were evaluated. The experimental lifetimes measured from the decay profiles are decreasing with increase in Dy^(3+)ions concentration in these glasses which may be attributed to the cross-relaxation and nonradiative multiphonon relaxation process. Decay profiles observed for higher concentration were well fitted to Inokuti-Hirayama (I-H) model to understand the energy transfer process and subsequent decrease in experimental lifetimes. 14Complete response with sorafenib and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) showing portal vein tumor thrombosis(PVTT) have an extremely poor prognosis. According to treatment guidelines, the only option for HCC patients with PVTT is sorafenib chemotherapy. However, in Asia, various treatments have been attempted and possible prolongation of overall survival has been repeatedly reported. We herein report the first case of a patient with an initially unresectable advanced HCC with PVTT who underwent curative hepatectomy after sorafenib and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) showing complete histological response. Two months after induction with sorafenib, a significant decrease in serum alpha-fetoprotein level was observed and computed tomography imaging showed a significant decrease in tumor size. Because of remaining PVTT, TACE and curative resection were performed. 16Protective effect of diosmin against diabetic neuropathy in experimental rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:The present study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of diosmin in diabetic neuropathy in type 2 diabetic rats.METHODS:Type 2 diabetes was induced in male Sprague-Dawley rats by single intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin(35 mg/kg) and high-fat diet.Four weeks after the confirmation of diabetes,diabetic rats were treated with diosmin(50 and 100 mg/kg,p.o.) for next 4 weeks.Rats were evaluated for biochemical,behavioral and oxidative stress parameters.Eddy's hot plate and tail immersion test were performed on 6th,7th,8th,9th and 10th weeks of experiment to assess thermal hyperalgesia and cold allodynia respectively.Further,the walking function test was performed for assessing the motor responses at the end of the treatment schedule.RESULTS:Rats were fed with high-fat diet throughout the experiment schedule and administration of low-dose streptozotocin induced significant elevation in blood glucose level and insulin resistance which was confirmed by oral glucose tolerance test.Treatment with diosmin at doses of 50 and 100 mg/kg significantly restored the reduced body weight,elevated blood sugar and lipid profiles.Further the dose-dependent improvement was observed in thermal hyperalgesia,cold allodynia and walking function in diabetic rats treated with diosmin.Elevated levels of malondialdehyde,and nitric oxide and decreased glutathione levels and superoxide dismutase activity in diabetic rats were restored significantly after the 4 weeks of diosmin treatment.CONCLUSION:Diosmin has shown beneficial effect in preventing the progression of early diabetic neuropathy in rats.Dilpesh Jain Manish Kumar Bansal Rahul Dalvi Aman Upganlawar Rahul Somani 2014Journal of Integrative Medicine2014,12,1:4

19Modeling,Parameter Measurement,and Control of PMSG-based Grid-connected Wind Energy Conversion System显示文摘The design of reliable controllers for wind energy conversion systems(WECSs)requires a dynamic model and accurate parameters of the wind generator.In this paper,a dynamic model and the parameter measurement and control of a direct-drive variable-speed WECS with a permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG)are presented.An experimental method is developed for measuring the key parameters of the PMSG.The measured parameters are used in the design of the controllers.The generator-side converter is controlled using a vector control scheme that maximizes the power extraction under varying wind speeds.A model predictive controller(MPC)is designed for the grid-side voltage source converter(VSC)to regulate the active and reactive power flows to the power grid by controlling the d-and q-axis currents in the synchronous reference frame.The MPC predicts the future values of the control variables and takes control actions based on the minimum value of the cost functions.To comply with the grid code requirement,a modified design approach for an LCL filter is presented and incorporated into the system.The design process is simple and incorporates significant filter parameters while avoiding iterative calculations.The comparative analysis of the designed filter with conventional L,LC,and iterative LCL filters demonstrates the effectiveness of the modified design approach.The proposed wind energy system with MPC and LCL filter is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and experimentally implemented in the laboratory using the dSpace digital signal processor(DSP)system.The simulation and experimental results validate the efficacy of the designed controllers using the measured parameters and show dynamic and steady-state performance under varying wind speeds.Mohammad Kamruzzaman Khan Prince Graduate Mohammad TArif Ameen Gargoom Aman MTOo Md Enamul Haque 2021Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2021,9,5:3
20Dual split and dislocation——a variant of Schatzker type-I tibial plateau fracture: A case report显示文摘Schatzkter type-I tibial plateau fracture is a split fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in sagittal plane,consequent to valgus impaction caused by low velocity of trauma.However,a deep understanding of the different columns of the tibial plateau and patho-mechanisms of the injury led to the unmasking of atypical fractures around the tibial plateau.We have encountered 2 cases with unusual fracture pattern of the lateral tibial condyle caused by road traffic accidents.The fracture pattern and severity of injury deviate from the original description of Schatzker type 1;in view of dual plane split,there is rotation of the posterolateral column fragment along its sagittal plane plus grade-III medial collateral ligament injury.The patients were initially treated with knee spanning external fixator and after a latency of 5 days,definitive fracture specific fixation was done,combined with repair of grade-III medial collateral ligament injury.At the 6 months follow-up both the patients achieved satisfactory knee functions(knee society score case 1:100 and case 2:92)and returned to their jobs.The severity of fracture pattern and displacement as described should prompt for examination of associated ligament injury.Because of timely diagnosis,early and appropriate care promised an excellent function outcome even in such a severe nature of knee injury.To prompt the description of injury pattern we coined the name'dual split and dislocation'of lateral tibial plateau,as a complex injury variant of split fracture of lateral tibial plateau fracture.Devendra Kumar Chouhan Aman Hooda 2022Chinese Journal of Traumatology2022,25,1:3
