| 1 | Evaluation of parameters affecting reflection cracking in geogrid-reinforced overlay显示文摘The influence of the most important parameters on the service life of reinforced asphalt overlay with geogrid materials in bending mode was examined by employing the Taguchi method and analysis of variance techniques. The objectives of this experiment was to investigate the effects of grid stiffness, tensile strength, coating type, amount of tack coat, overlay thickness, crack width and stiffnesses of asphalt overlay and existing asphalt concrete on propagation of the reflection cracking. Results indicate that the stiffnesses of cracked layer and overlay are the main significant factors that can directly improve the service life of an overlay against the reflection cracking. Generally, glass grid is more effective in reinforced overlay than polyester grid. | 2 | The Effect of Variable Stator on Performance of a Highly Loaded Tandem Axial Flow Compressor Stage显示文摘Increasing the aerodynamic load on compressor blades helps to obtain a higher pressure ratio in lower rotational speeds.Considering the high aerodynamic load effects and structural concerns in the design process,it is possible to obtain higher pressure ratios compared to conventional compressors.However,it must be noted that imposing higher aerodynamic loads results in higher loss coefficients and deteriorates the overall performance.To avoid the loss increase,the boundary layer quality must be studied carefully over the blade suction surface.Employment of advanced shaped airfoils(like CDAs),slotted blades or other boundary layer control methods has helped the designers to use higher aerodynamic loads on compressor blades.Tandem cascade is a passive boundary layer control method,which is based on using the flow momentum to control the boundary layer on the suction surface and also to avoid the probable separation caused by higher aerodynamic loads.In fact,the front pressure side flow momentum helps to compensate the positive pressure gradient over the aft blade's suction side.Also,in comparison to the single blade stators,tandem variable stators have more degrees of freedom,and this issue increases the possibility of finding enhanced conditions in the compressor off-design performance.In the current study,a 3D design procedure for an axial flow tandem compressor stage has been applied to design a highly loaded stage.Following,this design is numerically investigated using a CFD code and the stage characteristic map is reported.Also,the effect of various stator stagger angles on the compressor performance and especially on the compressor surge margin has been discussed.To validate the CFD method,another known compressor stage is presented and its performance is numerically investigated and the results are compared with available experimental results. | Hamzeh Eshraghi Masoud Boroomand Abolghasem M.Tousi Mohammad Toude Fallah Ali Mohammadi | 2016 | Journal of Thermal Science2016,25,3: | 3 |

| 16 | Improving the Cellular Characteristics of Aluminum Foam for Maximum Sound Absorption Coefficient Using Genetic Algorithm显示文摘Fabricating of metal foams with desired morphological parameters including pore size,porosity and pore opening is possible now using sintering technology.Thus,if it is possible to determine the morphology of metal foam to absorb sound at a given frequency,and then fabricate it through sintering,it is expected to have optimized metal foams for the best sound absorption.Theoretical sound absorption models such as Lu model describe the relationship between morphological parameters and the sound absorption coefficient.In this study,the Lu model was used to optimize the morphological parameters of aluminum metal foam for the best sound absorption coefficient.For this purpose,the Lu model was numerically solved using written codes in MATLAB software.After validating the proposed codes with benchmark data,the genetic algorithm(GA)was applied to optimize the affecting morphological parameters on the sound absorption coefficient.The optimization was carried out for the thicknesses of 5 mm to 40 mm at the sound frequency range of 250 Hz–8000 Hz.The optimized parameters ranged from 50%to 95%for porosity,0.1 mm to 4.5 mm for pore size,and 0.07 mm to 0.6 mm for pore opening size.The result of this study was applied to fabricate the desired aluminum metal foams for the best sound absorption.The novel approach applied in this study,is expected to be successfully applied in for best sound absorption in desired frequencies. | Mohammad Javad Jafari Mohsen Niknam Sharak Ali Khavanin Touraj Ebadzadeh Mahmood Fazlali Rohollah Fallah Madvari | 2021 | Sound & Vibration2021,55,2: | 0 |

| 18 | Phenology and population dynamics of sand flies in a new focus of visceral leishmaniasis in Eastern Azarbaijan Province,North western of Iran显示文摘Objective:To investigate species composition,density,accumulated degree-day and diversity of sand flies during April to October 2010 in Azarshahr district,a new focus of visceral leishmaniasis in north western Iran.Methods:Sand flies were collected using sticky traps biweekly and were stored in 96%ethanol.All specimens were mounted in Puri’s medium for species identification using valid keys of sandflies.The density was calculated by the formula: number of specimens/m of sticky traps and number of specimens/ number of traps.Degree-day was calculated as follows:(Maximum temperature + Minimum temperature)/2—Minimum threshold.Diversity indices of the collected sand flies within different villages were estimated by the Shannon- weaver formula(H’=sum form(i=1) to s Pi log_e Pi ).Results:Totally 5 557 specimens comprising 16 Species(14 Phlebotomus,and 2 Sergentomyia) were indentified.The activity of the species extended from April to October.Common sand-flies in resting places were Phlebotomus papatasi, Phlebotomus sergenti and Phlebotomus mongolensis.The monthly average density was 37.6.41.1, 40.23,30.38 and 30.67 for Almalodash,Jaragil,Segaiesh,Amirdizaj and Germezgol villages, respectively.Accumulated degree-day from early January to late May was approximately 289 degree days.The minimum threshold temperature for calculating of accumulated degree-day was 17.32℃.According on the Shannon-weaver(H’),diversity of sand flies within area study were estimated as 0.917,1.867,1.339,1.673,and 1.562 in Almalodash,Jaragil,Segaiesh,Amirdizaj and Germezgol villages,respectively.Conclusions:This study is the first detailed research in terms of species composition,density,accumulated degree-day and diversity of sand flies in an endemic focus of visceral leishamaniasis in Azarshahr district.The population dynamics of sand flies in Azarshahr district were greatly affected by climatic factors.According to this study the highest activity of the collected sand fly species occurs at the teritary week of August.It could help health authorities to predicate period of maximum risk of visceral leishamaniasis transmission and implement control program. | Teimour Hazratian Yavar Rassi Mohammad Ali Oshaghi Mohammad Reza Yaghoobi-Ershadi Esmael Fallah Mohammad Reza Shirzadi Sina Rafizadeh | 2011 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,8: | 0 |
