1Association between heat stress and oxidative stress in poultry;mitochondrial dysfunction and dietary interventions with phytochemicals显示文摘Heat as a stressor of poultry has been studied extensively for many decades; it affects poultry production on a worldwide basis and has significant impact on well-being and production. More recently, the involvement of heat stress in inducing oxidative stress has received much interest. Oxidative stress is defined as the presence of reactive species in excess of the available antioxidant capacity of animal cells. Reactive species can modify several biologically cellular macromolecules and can interfere with cell signaling pathways. Furthermore, during the last decade, there has been an ever-increasing interest in the use of a wide array of natural feed-delivered phytochemicals that have potential antioxidant properties for poultry. In light of this, the current review aims to(1) summarize the mechanisms through which heat stress triggers excessive superoxide radical production in the mitochondrion and progresses into oxidative stress,(2) illustrate that this pathophysiology is dependent on the intensity and duration of heat stress,(3) present different nutritional strategies for mitigation of mitochondrial dysfunction, with particular focus on antioxidant phytochemicals.Oxidative stress that occurs with heat exposure can be manifest in all parts of the body; however, mitochondrial dysfunction underlies oxidative stress. In the initial phase of acute heat stress, mitochondrial substrate oxidation and electron transport chain activity are increased resulting in excessive superoxide production. During the later stage of acute heat stress, down-regulation of avian uncoupling protein worsens the oxidative stress situation causing mitochondrial dysfunction and tissue damage. Typically, antioxidant enzyme activities are upregulated. Chronic heat stress, however, leads to downsizing of mitochondrial metabolic oxidative capacity, up-regulation of avian uncoupling protein, a clear alteration in the pattern of antioxidant enzyme activities, and depletion of antioxidant reserves.Some phytochemicals, such as various types of flavonoids and related compounds, were shown to be beneficial in chronic heat-stressed poultry, but were less or not effective in non-heat-stressed counterparts. This supports the contention that antioxidant phytochemicals have potential under challenging conditions. 2Microstructure and Thermal Conductivity of Al–Graphene Composites Fabricated by Powder Metallurgy and Hot Rolling Techniques显示文摘The objective of this research is to improve the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of Al/GNPs(graphene nanoplatelets) nanocomposites produced by classical powder metallurgy and hot rolling techniques. The microstructural evaluation confirmed the uniform dispersion of GNPs at low content and agglomeration at higher contents of GNPs. The structure of graphene was studied before and after the mixing and the Raman spectrum proofs that the wet mixing has a great potential to be used as a dispersion method. There was no significant peak corresponding to the Al_4C_3 formation in both the differential scanning calorimetry curves and X-ray diffraction patterns. The microstructural observation in both fabrication techniques showed grain refinement as a function of the GNPs content. Moreover, the introduction of the GNPs not only improved the Vickers hardness of the composites but also decreased their density. 4Dual-specificity phosphatase 6(DUSP6): a review of its molecular characteristics and clinical relevance in cancer显示文摘Mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs) are the main regulators of cellular proliferation, growth, and survival in physiological or pathological conditions. Aberrant MAPK signaling plays a pivotal role in carcinogenesis, which leads to development and progression of human cancer. Dual-specificity phosphatase 6(DUSP6), a member of the MAPK phosphatase family, interacts with specifically targeted extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 via negative feedback regulation in the MAPK pathway of mammalian cells. This phosphatase functions in a dual manner, pro-oncogenic or tumor-suppressive, depending on the type of cancer. To date, the tumor-suppressive role of DUSP6 has been demonstrated in pancreatic cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, esophageal squamous cell and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and ovarian cancer. Its pro-oncogenic role has been observed in human glioblastoma, thyroid carcinoma, breast cancer, and acute myeloid carcinoma. Both roles of DUSP6 have been documented in malignant melanoma depending on the histological subtype of the cancer. Loss-or gain-of-function effects of DUSP6 in these cancers highlights the significance of this phosphatase in carcinogenesis. Development of methods that use the DUSP6 gene as a therapeutic target for cancer treatment or as a prognostic factor for diagnosis and evaluation of cancer treatment outcome has great potential. 6Experimental Investigation of the Effects of Various Plasma Actuator Configurations on Lift and Drag Coefficients of a Circular Cylinder Including the Effects of Electrodes显示文摘In this paper, the effects of the existence of plasma actuator electrodes and also various configurations of the actuator for controlling the flow field around a circular cylinder are experimentally investigated. The cylinder is made of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and considered as a dielectric barrier. Two electrodes are flush-mounted on the surface of the cylinder and are connected to a DC high voltage power supply for generation of electrical discharge. Pressure distribution results show that the existence of the electrodes and also the plasma are able to change the pressure distribution around the cylinder and consequently the lift and drag coefficients. It is found that the effect of the existence of the electrodes is comparable with the effect of plasma actuator in controlling the flow field around the cylinder and this effect is not reported by other researchers. 7Interactive effects of drought stress and chitosan application on physiological characteristics and essential oil yield of Thymus daenensis Celak显示文摘Thymus daenensis, a perennial herb, is often grown in areas that experience drought conditions during its growing period. Application of chitosan may compensate for the negative impact of drought stress on the yield of oil and secondary metabolites in Thymus.The interactive effects of foliar application of chitosan and drought stress on dry matter,essential oil yield, and selected physiological characteristics including photosynthetic pigments, osmotic adjustment, and lipid peroxidation of Thymus were investigated in a two-year study from 2014 to 2015. Treatments consisted of 0, 200, and 400(iL L'1 chitosan applied to plants grown under field capacity, mild drought stress(50% field capacity), and severe drought stress(25% field capacity). Dry matter yield decreased substantially as drought stress intensified. However, essential oil content increased under stress conditions,with the highest essential oil yield obtained from plants under mild drought stress. Foliar application of chitosan compensated to some extent for dry matter and oil yield reduction of plants grown under drought stress. The highest essential oil yield(1.52 g plant-1) was obtained by application of 400 \iL L_1 chitosan under the mild stress condition in 2015 when plants were mature. 8A Stable Analytical Solution Method for Car-Like Robot Trajectory Tracking and Optimization显示文摘In this paper, the car-like robot kinematic model trajectory tracking and control problem is revisited by exploring an optimal analytical solution which guarantees the global exponential stability of the tracking error. The problem is formulated in the form of tracking error optimization in which the quadratic errors of the position, velocity, and acceleration are minimized subject to the rear-wheel car-like robot kinematic model. The input-output linearization technique is employed to transform the nonlinear problem into a linear formulation. By using the variational approach, the analytical solution is obtained, which is guaranteed to be globally exponentially stable and is also appropriate for real-time applications. 9A Novel Cu–GNPs Nanocomposite with Improved Thermal and Mechanical Properties显示文摘Classical powder metallurgy followed by either hot isostatic pressing(HIPing) or repressing–annealing process was used to produce Cu–graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs) nanocomposites in this work. A wet mixing method was used to disperse the graphene within the matrix. The results show that a uniform dispersion of GNPs at low graphene contents could be achieved, whereas agglomeration of graphene was revealed at higher graphene contents. Density evaluations showed that the relative density of pure copper and copper composites increased by using the post-processing techniques.However, it should be noticed that the efficiency of HIPing was remarkably higher than repressing–annealing process, and through the HIPing, fully dense samples were achieved. The Vickers hardness results showed that the reconsolidation steps can improve the mechanical strength of the specimens up to 50% owing to the progressive porosity elimination after reconsolidation. 10Detection of leptospiral antibodies by microscopic agglutination test in north-east of Iran显示文摘Objective:To detect leptospiral antibodies by microscopic agglutination test(MAT) in northeast of Iran.Methods:This study was conducted to evaluate prevalence of human leptospiral infections by MAT.using six current reference strains of Leptospira interrogans in north-east of Iran.A total of 285 serum samples were collected from three north-east provinces of Iran,from December,2009 to June,2010.Results:Antibodies were detected at least against one serovar of Leptospira interrogans in 45 sera(15.79%) among 283 samples at a dilution 1:100 or greater.Positive titers against more than one serovar were detected in 24 sera of the positive samples.Therefore, there were 75 positive reactions against different serovar of Leptospira interrogans.Positive titers were recorded against serovar icterohaemorrhagiae(31 samples),hardjo(26 samples), grippotyphosa(7 samples),pomona(5 samples),canicola(4 samples) and ballum(2.sample). 14A Comprehensive Overview on the Latest Progress in the Additive Manufacturing of Metal Matrix Composites: Potential, Challenges, and Feasible Solutions显示文摘Nowadays, as an emerging technology, additive manufacturing(AM) has received numerous attentions from researchers around the world. The method comprises layer-by-layer manufacturing of products according to the 3D CAD models of the objects. Among other things, AM is capable of producing metal matrix composites(MMCs). Hence, plenty of works in the literature are dedicated to developing different types of MMCs through AM processes. Hence, this paper provides a comprehensive overview on the latest research that has been carried out on the development of the powder-based AM manufactured MMCs from a scientific and technological viewpoint, aimed at highlighting the opportunities and challenges of this innovative manufacturing process. For instance, it is documented that AM is not only able to resolve the reinforcement/matrix bonding issues usually faced with during conventional manufacturing of MMCs, but also it is capable of producing functionally graded composites and geometrically complex objects. Furthermore, it provides the opportunity for a uniform distribution of the reinforcing phase in the metallic matrix and is able to produce composites using refractory metals thanks to the local heat source employed in the method. Despite the aforementioned advantages, there are still some challenges needing more attention from the researchers. 16A novel and efficient strategy for the synthesis of various carbamates using carbamoyl chlorides under solvent-free and grinding conditions using microwave irradiation显示文摘We present an efficient,fast and simple strategy of generating the intermediate carbamoyl chlorides from secondary amines using stoichiometric amounts of bis(trichloromethyl)carbonate(BTC) in solution and solvent-free conditions with excellent yields.The results obtained showed the yield increasing on whether a base was used.Finally,an efficient and rapid synthesis of variety carbamate derivatives was developed by the reaction with a high variety of different alcohols,phenols,diols and this intermediate at room temperature with grinding and in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation.The presence of various safe bases is shown to be effective in reducing the reaction times,increasing the yields and easing purification.The present method does not involve any hazardous phosgene.Hassan Zare Mohammad Mehdi Ghanbari Marzieh Jamali Abdollah Aboodi 2012Chinese Chemical Letters2012,23,8:2
17Effect of milling atmosphere on structural and magnetic properties of Ni-Zn ferrite nanocrystalline显示文摘Powder mixtures of Zn, Ni O, and Fe2O3 are mechanically alloyed by high energy ball milling to produce Ni–Zn ferrite with a nominal composition of Ni0.36Zn0.64Fe2O4. The effects of milling atmospheres(argon, air, and oxygen),milling time(from 0 to 30 h) and heat treatment are studied. The products are characterized using x-ray diffractometry,field emission scanning electron microscopy equipped with energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, and transmitted electron microscopy. The results indicate that the desired ferrite is not produced during the milling in the samples milled under either air or oxygen atmospheres. In those samples milled under argon, however, Zn/Ni O/Fe2O3 reacts with a solid-state diffusion mode to produce Ni–Zn ferrite nanocrystalline in a size of 8 nm after 30-h-milling. The average crystallite sizes decrease to 9 nm and 10 nm in 30-h-milling samples under air and oxygen atmospheres, respectively. Annealing the 30-h-milling samples at 600°C for 2 h leads to the formation of a single phase of Ni–Zn ferrite, an increase of crystallite size, and a reduction of internal lattice strain. 18IoT-Enabled Autonomous System Collaboration for Disaster-Area Management显示文摘Timely investigating post-disaster situations to locate survivors and secure hazardous sources is critical,but also very challenging and risky.Despite first responders putting their lives at risk in saving others,human-physical limits cause delays in response time,resulting in fatality and property damage.In this paper,we proposed and implemented a framework intended for creating collaboration between heterogeneous unmanned vehicles and first responders to make search and rescue operations safer and faster.The framework consists of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),unmanned ground vehicles(UGVs),a cloud-based remote control station(RCS).A light-weight message queuing telemetry transport(MQTT)based communication is adopted for facilitating collaboration between autonomous systems.To effectively work under unfavorable disaster conditions,antenna tracker is developed as a tool to extend network coverage to distant areas,and mobile charging points for the UAVs are also implemented.The proposed framework’s performance is evaluated in terms of end-to-end delay and analyzed using architectural analysis and design language(AADL).Experimental measurements and simulation results show that the adopted communication protocol performs more efficiently than other conventional communication protocols,and the implemented UAV control mechanisms are functioning properly.Several scenarios are implemented to validate the overall effectiveness of the proposed framework and demonstrate possible use cases.Abenezer Girma Niloofar Bahadori Mrinmoy Sarkar Tadewos G.Tadewos Mohammad R.Behnia M.Nabil Mahmoud Ali Karimoddini Abdollah Homaifar 2020IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2020,7,5:2
19A new solution to estimate the time delay on the topographic site using time domain 3D boundary element method显示文摘This study focuses on investigating spatial variation of ground motion that has great influence on the dynamic behavior of the large structures located on the surface topography.One of the most effective parameters on the spatial variation of ground motion is the difference between the arrival time of seismic waves in different points located on the abutments.In this research,a three-dimensional model of the Pacoima Dam site is prepared.The time domain 3 D boundary element method is used to apply non-uniform excitation at the dam supports.This model is subjected to vertically propagating incident SH and P waves.The time delay can be characterized by calculating the value of the time delay for which the cross-correlation between two records is maximized.Finally,to obtain the time delay in a topographic site,a function considering effective parameters such as the height from the canyon base,wave velocity and predominant frequency,is presented.Furthermore,a code was developed for generating the spatially variation of seismic ground motions.The results show that the proposed functions have an acceptable accuracy in estimating the time delay to generate non-uniform ground motion.Reza Tarinejad Mohsen Isari Abdollah Sohrabi-Bidar 2020Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2020,19,3:2
