| 1 | Experimental study on the mechanical properties of rocks at high temperature显示文摘The mechanical properties of marble, limestone, and sandstone as well as the stress-strain curve, the varying characteristics of the peak strength, the peak strain and elastic modulus were studied by using the MTS810 Rock Mechanics Servo-controlled Testing System under the action of temperatures rang- ing from room temperature to 800℃ . Results show that (1) the peak strength and elastic modulus of marble fluctuate at the temperature from normal to 400 ℃ ; and they decrease gradually over 400℃ . (2) With the rise of the temperature, the peak strength and elastic modulus of limestone show downward trend from normal temperature to 200 ℃ ; have little change from 200 ℃ to 600 ℃; and decrease sharply over 600 ℃ . (3) The peak strength of sandstone shows a downward trend while a little change for elastic modulus at normal temperature to 200 ℃ ; and from 200 ℃ to 600 ℃ , the peak strength of sandstone in- creases while a little change for elastic modulus; the peak strength and elastic modulus decrease rap- idly at the temperature over 600 ℃ . (4) The peak strain of limestone shows little change at normal tem- perature to 600 ℃ , however, the peak strain increases rapidly over 600 ℃; and for marble and sandstone, the peak strain decreases with the rise of the temperature from normal temperature to 200℃ , the peak strain increases rapidly over 200℃. | 2 | Temperature effect and thermal impact in lithium-ion batteries: A review显示文摘Lithium-ion batteries, with high energy density(up to 705 Wh/L) and power density(up to 10,000 W/L), exhibit high capacity and great working performance. As rechargeable batteries, lithium-ion batteries serve as power sources in various application systems. Temperature, as a critical factor, significantly impacts on the performance of lithium-ion batteries and also limits the application of lithium-ion batteries. Moreover, different temperature conditions result in different adverse effects. Accurate measurement of temperature inside lithiumion batteries and understanding the temperature effects are important for the proper battery management. | 3 | Temperature action and effect of concrete-filled steel tubular bridges:A review显示文摘Concrete-filled steel tube(CFST)has been widely applied in bridges due to its excellent structural and constructional performance.In CFST bridges,temperature action is not only an important but also a special load that must be considered in bridge design,construction and structural evaluation.This paper presents an overview on current researches of the temperature action and effect of CFST bridges.The historical and spatial characteristics as well as corresponding influencing factors of temperature distributions are summarized,and classifications of temperature actions are also reviewed.Results show that in-depth investigations of the contributions of temperature influencing factors can help to effectively reduce the adverse temperature effects on CFST bridges in the design stage.Due to the lack of long-term measurements and insufficient use of historical meteorological data,research on the representative value along with correlation analysis of CFST temperature actions and meteorological parameters have to be further carried out.In the meanwhile,a decomposition method of temperature distribution is proposed based on structural effects of CFST bridges in this paper.The decomposed temperature actions can be used for more accurate effect calculation than traditional temperature action classification method,especially for CFST truss bridges.At last,specific temperature action patterns still need to be investigated in some of the special problems,such as longitudinal temperature differences along the CFST arch rib and thermal debonding in the CFST interface.Further investigations are required on the accurate simulation of temperature distribution of CFST bridges considering the shading effects of components and terrain. | Jiang Liu Yongjian Liu Chenyu Zhang Qiuhong Zhao Yi Lyu Lei Jiang | 2020 | Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2020,7,2: | 15 |

The number of main cracks and crack initiation mechanisms at the notch surface strongly depended on the grain size. The crack initiation life accounted for more percentages of the total fatigue life for the alloy with smaller grain size. The fatigue life generally increased with increasing crack initiation life. | 6 | Anneal and Concentration Effect on PL Properties of Sol-Gel Derived Eu^(3+) Doped SiO_2 Glass显示文摘Eu3+ doped SiO2 nano-crystalline glasses were prepared by sol-gel method. The broad peak of XRD pattern indicates an amorphous SiO2 matrix. The affection of anneal time and anneal temperatures on photoluminescence (PL) properties of SiO2 glass under different Eu3+ doping concentration were studied systematically. It is found that the optimized anneal time is about 3 h. The excitation spectra of 2% Eu3+ doped SiO2 glass powder were measured under various anneal temperatures, and the optimized anneal temperature is observed around 700 ℃. The fluorescence-quenching effect can be observed in the emission spectra when the annealing temperature exceeds 700 ℃. The emission spectra of different molar ratio dopants were measured at an annealed temperature of 500 ℃, and the concentration-quenching phenomenon has also been observed in SiO2 glass powder when the molar ratio of Eu3+ ion exceeds 3%. The result shows that the PL intensity approaches its maximum when the molar ratio of Eu3+ ions in the sample is about 3%. | 7 | Tunable Curie temperature and magnetocaloric effect of FeCrMoCBYNi bulk metallic glass with different crystallized phases显示文摘The investigation on Curie temperature and magnetocaloric effect of the FeCrMoCBYNi bulk metallic glass(BMG) with different crystallized phases was carried out by XRD,TEM and PPMS. The experimental results show that the Curie temperature(T_c) of Fe_(45)Cr_(15)Mo_(14)C_(15)B_6 Y_2 Ni_3 BMG with different annealing condition reaches a highest value of 95 K. The value of magnetic entropy change △S_M(T) of Sample 3 reaches a maxima of 0.48 J/(kg·K) at Tc temperature, which result from the interaction among the precipitated phases of(Fe,Cr)_(23)(C,B)_6, Fe_3 Mo_3 C and residual amorphous phase. Based on the experiment results, it can be obtained that the Curie temperature, magnetocaloric effect can reach their optimal value at low temperature, when the content of amorphous phase and precipitated phases type run up to certain value. The results show that the short-time climate change in the Antarctic is complex both temporally and spatially. The Antarctic is by no means the strongest responding region to the global greenhouse effect. | 9 | Numerical Simulation of Wind and Temperature Fields over Beijing Area in Summer显示文摘The non-hydrostatic mesoscale model MM5V3 is used to simulate the wind and temperature fields of the atmospheric boundary layer over Beijing area in summer with the mesh resolution of 1 km. The simulation results show that the numerical model can successfully simulate the urban heat island effect and the wind and temperature fields which are affected by the complicated topography and urban heat island. The results show that: (1) the west area (from Haidian to Fengtai Districts) is always the high temperature center of Beijing, where the surface temperature is about 6 K higher than the other suburbs; and (2) due to the unique topography the wind of Beijing area during the daytime is southern anabatic wind and at the night is northern katabatic wind. | 10 | Seasonal dependency of controlling factors on the phytoplankton production in Taihu Lake, China显示文摘In this study, 44 profiles of gross primary productivity(GPP) and sunlight, along with water temperature, Chlorophyll-a(Chla) and nutrients, were observed in Meiliang Bay of Taihu Lake, China, in the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Effects of water temperature, light,and nutrient concentration were examined in relation to the GPP-unit-Chla(GPP of algae per Chla). The results showed that the optimum temperature for the GPP of phytoplankton was 27.9°C, the optimal PNA-unit-Chla(photon number absorbed by phytoplankton per Chla) was 0.25(mol), and the HSCN-unit-Chla and HSCP-unit-Chla(half-saturation constants of nitrogen and phosphorus of algae per Chla) were 0.005(mg/L) and 0.0004(mg/L), respectively. The seasonal dependency of the effect of different factors on the GPP was analyzed. Compared with temperature and nutrients, light was found to be the most important factor affecting the GPP during the three seasons. The effect of temperature and nutrients on the GPP of phytoplankton has obvious seasonal change. In spring, temperature was the secondary factor affecting the GPP of phytoplankton, and the effect of nutrients may be negligible in the eutrophic lake on account of temperature limit, which showed that the GPP of algae was only affected by the physical process. In summer and fall, temperature didn't affect the GPP of algae, and the presence of nutrients was the secondary factor affecting the GPP of phytoplankton. | 14 | Impact of the Zhalong Wetland on Neighboring Land Surface Temperature Based on Remote Sensing and GIS显示文摘Wetlands play a key role in regulating local climate as well as reducing impacts caused by climate change. Rapid observations of the land surface temperature(LST) are, therefore, valuable for studying the dynamics of wetland systems. With the development of thermal remote sensing technology, LST retrieval with satellite images is a practicable way to detect a wetland and its neighboring area’s thermal environment from a non-point visual angle rather than the traditional detection from a point visual angle. The mono-windows(MW) method of retrieving LST was validated. On the basis of estimated LST, we used Geographical Information System(GIS) technology to study the impact of wetland reclamation on local temperatures at a regional scale. Following that, correlations between LST and the wetland were analyzed. The results show that: 1) It is feasible to retrieve the LST from Landsat 8 OLI satellite images with MW model. The model was validated with the land surface temperature observed in four meteorological stations when the satellite scanned the study region. The satellite retrieval error was approximately 1.01°C. 2) The relationship between the spatial distribution of land surface temperatures and the Zhalong wetland was analyzed based on GIS technology. The results show that wetland has an obvious influence on LST, and that this influence decreases with increasing distance from the wetland. When the distance from the wetland was less than 500 m, its influence on LST was significant. | 18 | Eddy induced SST variation and heat transport in the western North Paci?c Ocean显示文摘Vigorous mesoscale eddies and significant sea surface temperature(SST)variations are found in the northern edge of the Pacific warm pool that features large SST gradient.However,the relations between SST gradient,eddies,and SST variations in this region remain unexplored.In this study,by combining multi-altimeter sea surface height(SSH),satellite microwave SST observations and a mesoscale eddy dataset,we investigated the two-dimensional structures of SSTa(SST anomalies)in two subareas,which have different eddy characteristics and can be discriminated in the intensity of background SST gradient.The eddy characteristics of this region,focusing on their concentration to 21°N,are also described.We found that eddies can result in two distinct patterns of eddy-induced SST anomalies,with two different horizontal processes respectively.One is a monopole pattern that is caused by elevation/depression of the isopycnals,and another is a dipole pattern caused by eddy's rotation and stirring of the background SST field.In addition,contributions of both parts to the total SSTa and the SSTa variations were evaluated.The intensity of surrounding SST gradient plays an important role in shaping the SSTa structure:when SST gradient is larger,the eddy-associated SSTa pattern organizes more dipole.The distinct annual cycle in two components of SSTa is associated with the seasonal modulation of the warm pool's horizontal structure. | SUN Bowen LIU Chuanyu WANG Fan | 2020 | Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,1: | 2 |
