1Influence of Substrate Negative Bias on Structure and Properties of TiN Coatings Prepared by Hybrid HIPIMS Method显示文摘TiN coatings were deposited using a hybrid home-made high power impulse magnetron sputtering(HIPIMS)technique at room temperature.The effects of substrate negative bias voltage on the deposition rate,composition,crystal structure,surface morphology,microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated.The results revealed that with the increase in bias voltage from-50 to-400 V,TiN coatings exhibited a trend of densification and the crystal structure gradually evolved from(111) orientation to(200)orientation.The growth rate decreased from about 12.2 nm to 7.8 nm per minute with the coating densification.When the bias voltage was-300 V,the minimum surface roughness value of 10.1 nm was obtained,and the hardness and Young's modulus of TiN coatings reached the maximum value of 17.4 GPa and 263.8 GPa,respectively.Meanwhile,the highest adhesion of 59 N was obtained between coating and substrate.Zhenyu Wang Dong Zhang Peiling Ke Xincai Liu Aiying Wang 2015Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,1:10
2Preparation of Ti_2AlC MAX Phase Coating by DC Magnetron Sputtering Deposition and Vacuum Heat Treatment显示文摘Due to the excellent corrosion resistance and high irradiation damage resistance,Ti_2AlC MAX phase is considered as a candidate for applications as corrosion resistant and irradiation resistant protective coating.MAX phase coatings can be fabricated through firstly depositing a coating containing the three elements M,A,and X close to stoichiometry of the MAX phases using physical vapor deposition,followed by heat treatment in vacuum.In this work,Ti-Al-C coating was prepared on austenitic stainless steels by reactive DC magnetron sputtering with a compound Ti_(50)Al_(50) target,and CH4 used as the reactive gas.It was found that the as-deposited coating is mainly composed of Ti_3AlC antiperovskite phase with supersaturated solid solution of Al.Additionally,the ratio of Ti/Al remained the same as that of the target composition.Nevertheless,a thicker thermally grown Ti_2AlC MAX phase coating was obtained after being annealed at 800℃ in vacuum for 1 h.Meanwhile,the ratio of Ti/Al became close to stoichiometry of Ti_2AlC MAX phases.It can be understood that owing to the higher activity of Al,it diffused quickly into the substrate during annealing,and then more stable Ti_2AlC MAX phases transformed from the Ti_3AlC antiperovskite phase.Zongjian Feng Peiling Ke Aiying Wang 2015Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,12:10
3Erosion behavior and failure mechanism of Ti/TiAlN multilayer coatings eroded by silica sand and glass beads显示文摘Severe erosion by hard particles is a crucial problem to engine blades when aircraft take off and land in harsh environments, especially for the developed lightweight titanium alloy components. Here, we deposited the Ti/TiAlN multilayer coatings with various cycles on Ti–6 Al–4 V substrates by a home-made hybrid multisource cathodic arc system. The effects of the silica sand and glass beads on erosion behavior of the coatings were focused. Results showed that the Ti/TiAlN multilayer coatings eroded by the silica sand exhibited the predominant 'layer by layer' failure mechanism. In particular, increasing the number of cycles led to the dramatic increase in erosion rate for Ti/TiAlN multilayer coatings, due to the deterioration of their mechanical properties. Different from the silica sand case, however, the erosion rate of the coatings treated by glass beads indicated faint dependence upon the number of cycles, where the coating failure was dominated by the 'piece by piece' failure mechanism. Noted that the Ti layers along with the formed interfaces enhanced the erosion resistance of the coatings, although the failure mechanisms were differently eroded by silica sand and glass beads. 4Structural design of Cr/GLC films for high tribological performance in artificial seawater:Cr/GLC ratio and multilayer structure显示文摘In this paper,graphite-like carbon(GLC)films with Cr buffer layer were fabricated by DC magnetron sputtering technique with the thickness ratio of Cr to GLC films varying from 1:2 to 1:20.The effect of Cr/GLC modulation ratio on microstructure,mechanical and tribological properties in artificial seawater was mainly investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),nano-indenter and a reciprocating sliding tribo-meter.The propagation of defects plays an important role in the evolution of delamination,which is critical to wear failure of GLC films in artificial seawater.Designing the proper multilayer structure could inhibit the defects propagation and thus protect the basis material.The multilayer Cr/GLC film with optimized ratio of 1:3 demonstrates a low average friction coefficient of 0.08±0.006 and wear rate of(2.3±0.3)×10^(-8)mm^3/(N m)in artificial seawater,respectively.Lei Li Peng Guo Lin-Lin Liu Xiaowei Li Peiling Ke Aiying Wang 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,8:7
5Coal and gas outburst prevention using new high water content cement slurry for injection into the coal seam显示文摘As coal and gas outburst is one of the most serious mine disasters, it is very important to at least control it if not prevent it from occurring. Injecting cement slurry or grouting into the coal seam can strengthen the seam, increase its rigidity coefficient(f), and reduce the volumetric expansion due to gas energy release.This paper reports the results of laboratory experiments on cement-based high water content slurry having different water-cement ratios(W/C) to be used for coal injection. The results show that as the W/C increases, the mobility of the slurry and its setting time increase. The compressive strength and rupture strength, however, are reduced. Furthermore, high W/C grout shows early strength after 7 days, which can be 80% of its 14-day compressive strength. To achieve rapid setting and early strength, the addition of Na_2SiO_3has proven to give the best result, when the concentration of the additive is 3%. The initial and final setting times are 13 and 21 min shorter than samples without Na_2SiO_3, while the compressive strength is more than double. As a retarder, the initial setting time can be extended to 83 min when tartaric acid of 0.4% concentration is added. Through the orthogonal experiment, the optimum recipe of the new high water content slurry has been determined to be: W/C = 2, tartaric acid = 0.2%, Na_2SiO_3= 3%, and12% bentonite. Reinforcement by injection simulation experiments show that the grouting radius of the new slurry mix is 250 mm when the applied grouting pressure is 60 k Pa, 7-day rupture strength and compressive strength are 5.2 and 6.4 MPa, respectively, and are 37% and 88% higher than ordinary cement grout. 8Optimized Bio-inspired Micro-pillar Dry Adhesive and Its Application for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Adhering on and Detaching from a Ceiling显示文摘Various bio-inspired dry adhesive materials have been investigated.In this work,lithography and silicon deep etching method were used to fabricate bio-inspired micro-pillar dry adhesive materials of which the parameters,such as side length,Height to Side length Aspect Ratio(HSAR),and inter-pillar Distance to Side length Aspect Ratio(DSAR)were comprehensively studied to obtain a dry adhesive with high adhesion.An orthogonal array method was designed and a series of fabrication experiments were conducted to identify optimum parameters,which resulted in a high normal adhesion of 2.98 N·cm^-2 and a shear adhesion of 9.59 N·cm^-2.An adhesion and desorption device was further designed on basis of the optimum dry adhesive,which enables an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)to successfully adhere on and detach from a ceiling.This would allow an UAV to stay aloft for prolonged time,which could be invaluable to many applications,such as energy conservation and aerial detection.Qingsong He Xianrui Xu Zhiwei Yu Kai Huo Zhaoyang Wang Nuo Chen Xuean Sun Gui Yin Peile Du Yang Li Zhendong Dai 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,1:2
9Microstructure and Tribological Behavior of Self-lubricating(Si:N)-DLC/MAO Coatings on AZ80 Magnesium Substrate显示文摘The combined micro arc oxidation(MAO)and a hybrid beam deposition process was used to deposit duplex(Si:N)-DLC/MAO coatings on AZ80 magnesium alloy.The microstructure and composition of the duplex coatings were analyzed by Raman spectroscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscope(XPS),scanning electron microscope(SEM)and atomic force microscopy(AFM).Tribological behaviors of the coatings were studied by ball-on-disk friction test.It was found that the ID/IG ratio of the(Si:N)-DLC(diamond-like carbon)top films increases with decreasing C2H2/N2ratio.The(Si:N)-DLC top film with Si3N4was formed on the MAO coated sample as the C2H2/N2ratio was 10sccm:5sccm,which showed an increasing critical load compared with the pure DLC directly deposited on the Mg alloy substrate.As a result,the(Si:N)-DLC/MAO coating exhibited an advanced wear protection for the substrate.Wei YANG Zhennan DENG Dong ZHANG Peiling KE Aiying WANG 2013Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2013,26,6:2
10Insights on high temperature friction mechanism of multilayer ta-C films显示文摘In this work,the high temperature friction mechanism of the tetrahedral amorphous carbon(ta-C)film was elucidated.The multilayer ta-C film with alternating hard and soft sub-layers exhibited a low friction coefficient of 0.14 at 400℃ before a sudden failure occurred at 4600 cycles.The wear failure was attributed to the gradual consumption of the ta-C film at the contact region.The design of a hard or soft top layer effectively regulated the high temperature friction properties of the multilayer ta-C.The addition of a hard top layer contributed to a low friction coefficient(0.11)and a minor wear rate(4.0×10^(-7)mm^(3)/(N m)),while a soft top layer deteriorated the lubrication effect.It was proposed that the passivation of dangling bonds at the sliding interface dominated the low-friction mechanism of the ta-C film at high temperature,while the friction induced graphitization and the formation of sp^(2)-rich carbonaceous transfer layer triggered C-C inter-film bonding,resulting in serious adhesion force and lubrication failure.Moreover,the multilayer ta-C film with hard top layer obtained excellent friction performance within 500℃,while the high temperature induced oxidation and volatilization of carbon atoms led to the wear failure at 600℃.Jing Wei Peng Guo Hao Li Peiling Ke Aiying Wang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,2:2

15A Singular Value Thresholding Based Matrix Completion Method for DOA Estimation in Nonuniform Noise显示文摘Usually,the problem of direction-of-arrival(DOA)estimation is performed based on the assumption of uniform noise.In many applications,however,the noise across the array may be nonuniform.In this situation,the performance of DOA estimators may be deteriorated greatly if the non-uniformity of noise is ignored.To tackle this problem,we consider the problem of DOA es-timation in the presence of nonuniform noise by leveraging a singular value thresholding(SVT)based matrix completion method.Different from that the traditional SVT method apply fixed threshold,to improve the performance,the proposed method can obtain a more suitable threshold based on careful estimation of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)levels.Specifically,we firstly employ an SVT-based matrix completion method to estimate the noise-free covariance matrix.On this basis,the signal and noise subspaces are obtained from the eigendecomposition of the noise-free cov-ariance matrix.Finally,traditional subspace-based DOA estimation approaches can be directly ap-plied to determine the DOAs.Numerical simulations are performed to demonstrate the effective-ness of the proposed method.Peiling Wang Jinfeng Zhang 2021Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2021,30,4:1
