| 1 | Magnetron co-sputtering synthesis and nanoindentation studies of nanocrystalline(TiZrHf)_(x)(NbTa)_(1–x)high-entropy alloy thin films显示文摘Refractory high-entropy alloys(HEAs)possess many useful properties such as high strength and high-temperature stability.So far,most studies on refractory HEAs have been limited to a few well-known compositions and on their coarse-grain bulk forms.Here we fabricate nanocrystalline(TiZrHf)_(x)(NbTa)_(1−x)HEA thin films with a large range of compositions(x=0.07–0.90)by the direct current(DC)magnetron co-sputtering technique and measure their mechanical properties using the nanoindentation method.All the as-deposited HEA thin films show a solid-solution body-centered cubic(bcc)structure.As the compositional ratio(x)increases,the elastic modulus decreases from 153 to 123 GPa,following the trend of the rule of mixture.As x increases,the hardness first decreases from 6.5 GPa(x=0.07)to the lowest value(4.6 GPa,x=0.48)and then increases to the highest value(7.1 GPa,x=0.90),showing a concave trend.The change in hardness might be attributed to the combinational influence caused by the atomic size and modulus effects,as well as the texture effect.The authors also propose a few open questions for future studies on this and related HEA systems. | Changjun Cheng Xiaofu Zhang Michel J.R.Haché Yu Zou | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,6: | 3 |
| 2 | A multifunctional biomedical patch based on hyperbranched epoxy polymer and MXene显示文摘Biomedical patches play fundamental roles in various applications such as wound closure and tissue regeneration.The hybrid patches integrating versatile properties will prominently improve the therapeutic effects in clinical applications.Herein,an epoxy network loading curcumin and Ti3 C2 TxMXenes were developed as a hybrid biomedical patch.The hybrid patch was basically prepared through an epoxy/thiol curing chemistry,and its topological structure can be destructed and rearranged as a vitrimer does due to the active transesterification at high temperature.The resulted hybrid patch exhibits shape-morphing capability,multi-substrate adhesion,self-healing ability,and photothermal effects under 980 nm near infrared(NIR).Additionally,the asprepared hybrid patch possesses strong UV-shielding,excellent oxidation resistance(ROS scavenging efficiency was 89.3%in3 min),highly effective antibacterial vitality(more than 99%)against S.aureus and E.coli,and good cytocompatibility.As a proof of concept,the present multifunctional hybrid patch broadens the potential applications in the biomedical field. | ZOU Yang JIN Xin ZHANG XiaoPing KONG XiaoLing ZHANG Qian XIE XianHua LIU ChangJun KE LinNan LIU WenGuang WANG Wei | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,12: | 2 |

| 6 | Preparation and water sorption properties of novel SiO_(2)-LiBr microcapsules for water-retaining pavement显示文摘Novel SiO_(2)-LiBr microcapsules for water-retaining pavement were prepared and firstly characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM),particle size analysis,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).The water vapor sorption and desorption of the formulated microcapsules was then experimentally studied using dynamic vapor sorption(DVS),with the results fitted to three kinds of adsorption kinetics models.In addition,the specific surface area(SSA)was also calculated based on BET theory;and the thermal performance was investigated by laser flash analysis(LFA).Experimental results show a change of 103%in mass of the microcapsule sample under 90%relative humidity(RH)at 30℃after water vapor sorption.The fitting of results indicates that the adsorption process is mainly governed by the intra-particle diffusion mechanism,followed by the pseudo-first-order adsorption process.In comparison with most conventional pavement materials,it is found that the SSA of the formulated microcapsules is much larger while the thermal conductivity is lower.The unique properties of the formulated SiO_(2)-LiBr microcapsules have significant potential to take the edge off the urban heat island effect and reduce rutting when applied to water-retaining pavement materials. | Wenjing Li Gilmore Wellio Tiejun Lu Changjun Zou Yongliang Li | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,6: | 1 |

| 10 | On-chip sorting of orbital angular momentum beams using Bloch surface wave structures显示文摘Owing to their unique optical properties and new degrees of freedom,orbital angular momentum(OAM)beams have been applied in various fields.Detection of the topological charges(TCs)of OAM beams is the key step for their applications.However,on-chip sorting of OAM beams with large TCs still remains a challenge.In this paper,Bloch surface wave(BSW)structures with five semi-ring shaped nanoslits are modeled.A spatial separation of 135 nm on the chip is obtained between two neighboring OAM states.OAM beams with TCs up to 35 can be successfully sorted by the BSW structures,which is much larger than that using metallic structures(only seven).BSW structures exhibit better OAM sorting performances than metallic structures.We systematically show how the lower attenuation of BSW structures leads to far superior separation ability compared to surface plasmons propagating on metallic structures.In addition,sorting of two OAM beams with different TCs simultaneously can be achieved in this way.Our results reveal that BSW structures should be an excellent solution for OAM sorting with large TCs,which is beneficial for applications in integrated on-chip devices and optical communications. | NANNAN LI QI ZOU YIZHI LAN YAQI WANG JUN ZHANG MICHAEL SOMEKH CHANGJUN MIN FU FENG XIAOCONG YUAN | 2023 | Photonics Research2023,11,11: | 0 |
