1Massive individual orbital angular momentum channels for multiplexing enabled by Dammann gratings显示文摘Data transmission rates in optical communication systems are approaching the limits of conventional multiplexing methods.Orbital angular momentum(OAM)in optical vortex beams offers a new degree of freedom and the potential to increase the capacity of free-space optical communication systems,with OAM beams acting as information carriers for OAM division multiplexing(OAM-DM).We demonstrate independent collinear OAM channel generation,transmission and simultaneous detection using Dammann optical vortex gratings(DOVGs).We achieve 80/160 Tbit s^(-1) capacity with uniform power distributions along all channels,with 1600 individually modulated quadrature phase-shift keying(QPSK)/16-QAM data channels multiplexed by 10 OAM states,80 wavelengths and two polarizations.DOVG-enabled OAM multiplexing technology removes the bottleneck of massive OAM state parallel detection and offers an opportunity to raise optical communication systems capacity to Pbit s^(-1) level.Ting Lei Meng Zhang Yuru Li Ping Jia Gordon Ning Liu Xiaogeng Xu Zhaohui Li Changjun Min Jiao Lin Changyuan Yu Hanben Niu Xiaocong Yuan 2015Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1:47
2Application of an antibody chip for screening differentially expressed proteins during peach ripening and identification of a metabolon in the SAM cycle to generate a peach ethylene biosynthesis model显示文摘Peach(Prunus persica)is a typical climacteric fruit that produces ethylene rapidly during ripening,and its fruit softens quickly.Stony hard peach cultivars,however,do not produce large amounts of ethylene,and the fruit remains firm until fully ripe,thus differing from melting flesh peach cultivars.To identify the key proteins involved in peach fruit ripening,an antibody-based proteomic analysis was conducted.A mega-monoclonal antibody(mAb)library was generated and arrayed on a chip(mAbArray)at a high density,covering~4950 different proteins of peach.Through the screening of peach fruit proteins with the mAbArray chip,differentially expressed proteins recognized by 1587 mAbs were identified,and 33 corresponding antigens were ultimately identified by immunoprecipitation and mass spectrometry.These proteins included not only important enzymes involved in ethylene biosynthesis,such as ACO1,SAHH,SAMS,and MetE,but also novel factors such as NUDT2.Furthermore,protein–protein interaction analysis identified a metabolon containing SAHH and MetE.By combining the antibody-based proteomic data with the transcriptomic and metabolic data,a mathematical model of ethylene biosynthesis in peach was constructed.Simulation results showed that MetE is an important regulator during peach ripening,partially through interaction with SAHH.Wenfang Zeng Liang Niu Zhaohui Wang Xiaobei Wang Yan Wang Lei Pan Zhenhua Lu Guochao Cui Weining Weng Mingqiao Wang Xun Meng Zhiqiang Wang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2
3Efficacy and safety of darbepoetin alfa injection replacing epoetin alfa injection for the treatment of renal anemia in Chinese hemodialysis patients:A randomized,open-label,parallel-group,noninferiority phase III trial显示文摘Background:This study was to explore the clinical efficacy and safety of darbepoetin alfa injection replacing epoetin alfa injection(recombinant human erythropoietin injection,rHuEPO)for the treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney failure in Chinese patients undergoing hemodialysis.Method:This study was a multicenter,randomized,open-label,intergroup parallel control phase III noninferiority trial from April 19,2013 to September 9,2014 at 25 sites.In this study,the members of the darbepoetin alfa group underwent intravenous administration once per week or once every two weeks.The members of the control drug epoetin alfa group underwent intravenous administration two or three times per week.All subjects underwent epoetin alfa administration during the 8-week baseline period.After that,subjects were randomly assigned to the darbepoetin alfa group or epoetin alfa group.The noninferiority in the changes of the average Hb concentrations from the baseline to the end of the evaluation period(noninferiority threshold:-1.0 g/dl)was tested between the two treatments.The time-dependent hemoglobin(Hb)concentration and the maintenance rate of the target Hb concentration(the proportion of subjects with Hb concentrations between 10.0 and 12.0 g/dl)were also evaluated.Iron metabolism,including changes in the serum iron,total iron-binding capacity,ferritin,transferrin saturation,and comparisons of the dose adjustments between the two groups during the treatment period were analyzed further.Adverse events(AEs)were also observed and compared,and the safety was analyzed between the two treatment groups.The conversion rate switching from epoetin alfa to darbepoetin alfa was also discussed.SAS?software version 9.2 was used to perform all statistical analyses.Descriptive statistics were used for all efficacy,safety,and demographic variable analyses,including for the primary efficacy indicators.Results:Four hundred and sixty-six patients were enrolled in this study,and ultimately 384 cases were analyzed for safety,including 267 cases in the darbepoetin alfa group and 117 cases in the epoetin alfa group.There were 211 cases in the per-protocol set,including 152 cases in the darbepoetin alfa group and 59 cases in the epoetin alfa group.The changes in the average Hb concentrations from the baseline to the end of the evaluation period were-0.07 and-0.15 g/dl in the darbepoetin alfa group and epoetin alfa group respectively.The difference between the two groups was 0.08 g/dl(95%confidence interval[CI]:-0.22 to 0.39),and the lower limit of the 95%CI was-0.22>-1.0 g/dl.The average Hb concentrations of the two groups were 10.88-11.43 g/dl(darbepoetin alfa)and 10.91-11.38 g/dl(epoetin alfa)during the study period of Weeks 0-28,with the maintenance rates of the target Hb concentration ranging within 71%-87%and 78%-95%in the darbepoetin alfa group and epoetin alfa group respectively.During the period of comparison between the two groups,the incidence of AEs in the darbepoetin alfa group was 61.42%,while in the epoetin alfa group it was 56.41%.All of the adverse events and reactions in the study were those commonly associated with hemodialysis.Conclusion:The overall efficacy and safety of darbepoetin alfa for the treatment of Chinese renal anemia patients undergoing hemodialysis are consistent with those of epoetin alfa.Bicheng Liu Nan Chen Jinghong Zhao Aiping Yin Xiongfei Wu Changying Xing Gengru Jiang Junzhou Fu Mei Wang Rong Wang Jianying Niu Ping Fu Zhaohui Ni Fanfan Hou Jiuyang Zhao Jing Chen Yuqing Chen Wei Shi Jianghua Chen Wenge Li Gang Xu Ling Zhong Wenhu Liu Guohua Ding Yuichiro Kondo Changhe Yue Changlin Mei 2022Chronic Diseases and Translational Medicine2022,8,2:1
4Dynamic Changes of Chemical and Mechanical Properties of Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) Culms under Different Storage Conditions显示文摘The durability of bamboo based on its chemical and mechanical properties is a crucial consideration for the wood-based industry due to its vulnerability to insects and microorganisms.We investigated the dynamic changes of chemical and mechanical properties of Phyllostachys edulis under air-dry and water storage conditions for 3,6 and 12 months respectively.The chemical properties of P.edulis bamboo culms varied with culm age but insignificantly with culm height.The mechanical properties of P.edulis culms showed an increasing trend with culm age.Water storage condition decreased the ash,SiO2 and lignin content,but increased the ethanol-benzene extracts.It also created an anaerobic environment for bamboo culms in which only anaerobic respiration was possible contributing to reducing the content of soluble sugar and starch,thereby beneficial for decreasing the damage from insects and microorganisms.Moreover,the water storage conditions could maintain culm mechanical performance better.Therefore,the indigenous practice of local people to store bamboo culms in ponds has good science behind it and water storage practices of bamboo culms was recommended.Hui Zhan Zhaohui Niu Lixia Yu Maobiao Li Changming Wang Shuguang Wang 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,5:1
5Darbepoetin alfa injection versus epoetin alfa injection for treating anemia of Chinese hemodialysis patients with chronic kidney failure:A randomized,open-label,parallel-group,non-inferiority Phase III trail显示文摘Background:Erythropoietin is a glycoprotein that mainly regulates erythropoiesis.In patients with chronic renal failure with anemia,darbepoetin alfa can stimulate erythropoiesis,correct anemia,and maintain hemoglobin levels.This study was designed to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of darbepoetin alfa injections as being not inferior to epoetin alfa injections(Recombinant Human Erythropoietin injection,rHuEPO)when maintaining hemoglobin(Hb)levels within the target range(10.0-12.0 g/dL)for the treatment of renal anemia.Methods:Ninety-five patients were enrolled in this study from April 15,2013 to April 10,2014 at 25 sites.In this study,patients(n=95)aged 18-70 years were randomized into a once per week intravenous darbepoetin alfa group(n=56)and a twice or three times per week intravenous epoetin alfa group(n=39)for 28 weeks,who had anemia with hemoglobin levels between 6 g/dL and 10 g/dL due to chronic kidney disease(CKD)and were undergoing hemodialysis or hemofiltration with ESA-naive(erythropoiesis stimulating agent-naive).The primary efficacy profile was the mean Hb level(the non-inferiority margin was-1.0 g/dL,week 21-28);the secondary efficacy profiles were the Hb increase rate(week 0-4),the target Hb achievement cumulative rate and time,the change trends of the Hb levels,and the target Hb maintenance ratio.Adverse events(AEs)were observed and compared,and the efficacy and safety were analyzed between the two treatment groups.Additionally,the frequencies of dose adjustments between the darbepoetin alfa and epoetin alfa groups were compared during the treatment period.SAS?software version 9.2 was used to perform all statistical analyses.Descriptive statistics were used for all efficacy,safety,and demographic variable analyses,including for the primary efficacy indicators.Results:The mean Hb level was 11.3 g/dL in the darbepoetin alfa group and 10.7 g/dL in the epoetin alfa group,respectively;the difference of the lower limits of the 95%confidence intervals(CI)between the two groups was 0.1 g/dL(>-1.0 g/dL),and non-inferiority was proven;the Hb levels started to increase in the first four weeks at a similar increase rate;no obvious differences were observed between the groups in the target Hb achievement cumulative rates,and the Hb levels as well as the target Hb level maintenance rate changed over time.The incidence of AEs was 62.5%in the darbepoetin alfa group and 76.9%in the epoetin alfa group.All the adverse events observed in the study were those commonly associated with hemodialysis.Conclusion:Darbepoetin alfa intravenously once per week can effectively increase Hb levels and maintain the target Hb levels well,which makes it not inferior to epoetin alfa intravenously twice or three times per week.Darbepoetin alfa shows an efficacy and safety comparable to epoetin alfa for the treatment of renal anemia.Nan Chen Changying Xing Jianying Niu Bicheng Liu Junzhou Fu Jiuyang Zhao Zhaohui Ni Mei Wang Wenhu Liu Jinghong Zhao Ling Zhong Xiongfei Wu Wenge Li Yuqing Chen Wei Shi Jianghua Chen Aiping Yin Ping Fu Rong Wang Gengru Jiang Fanfan Hou Guohua Ding Jing Chen Gang Xu Yuichiro Kondo Yuliang Su Changlin Mei 2022Chronic Diseases and Translational Medicine2022,8,1:1
6Dynamic response of wind turbine towers in warm permafrost显示文摘Wind is a great source of renewable energy in western Alaska.Consistent winds blow across the barren tundra underlain by warm permafrost in the winter season,when the energy demand is the highest.Foundation engineering in warm permafrost has always been a challenge in wind energy development.Degrading warm permafrost poses engineering issues to design,construction,and operation of wind turbines.This paper describes the foundation design of a wind turbine built in western Alaska.It presents a system for response monitoring and load assessment,and data collected from September 2013 to March 2014.The dynamic properties are assessed based on the monitoring data,and seasonal changes in the dynamic properties of the turbine tower-foundation system and likely resonance between the spinning blades and the tower structure are discussed.These analyses of a wind turbine in warm permafrost are valuable for designing or retrofitting of foundations in warm permafrost.Benjamin Still ZhaoHui (Joey) Yang Simon Evans FuJun Niu 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,5:0
7Enhanced Li+migration in solid polymer electrolyte driven by anion-containing polymer-chains显示文摘Li-ion batteries with solid polymer electrolytes(SPEs)are safer than conventional liquid electrolytes due to the absence of highly flammable liquid electrolytes.However,their performance is limited by the poor Li+transport in SPEs at room temperature.Anion-containing polymer-chains incorporated SPEs(ASPEs)are therefore developed to enhance Li^(+) diffusion kinetics.Herein,we propose a novel and feasible strategy to incorporate the anion-containing polymer-chains,such as lithiated perfluorinated sulfonic acid(PFSA),into polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)polymer-based SPEs.The immobile anion groups from the PFSA-chains impede the migration of mobile anion groups dissociated from the Li salt.The transference number is thus raised from∼0.3 to 0.52 with the introduction of anion-containing polymer-chains into SPEs.The electrostatic repulsion among anion-containing chains also reduces the close chain stacking and brings 159%increase in the ionic conductivity to 0.83×10^(−3) S/cm at 30℃ in contrast with the pure PVDF-based SPE.In addition,LiFeO_(4)/Li batteries with ASPEs exhibit 55%capacity boost at 0.5 C in contrast to the capacity of batteries with pure-PVDF SPEs,and also offer more than 1000 charge/discharge cycles.Our research findings potentially offer a facile strategy to design thermal stable SPEs with superior Li^(+) transport behaviors towards developing high-performance SPEs-based batteries.Xingyi Zhang Modeste Venin Mendieev Nitou Wenjun Li Zhao Wan Longfei Liu Zhaohui Luo Sohail Muhammad Wu Qin Liang An Yinghua Niu Weiqiang Lv 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,11:0

9Hepatic COX1 loss leads to impaired autophagic flux and exacerbates nonalcoholic steatohepatitis显示文摘The mechanisms underlying autophagic defects in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)remain largely unknown.We aimed to elucidate the roles of hepatic cyclooxygenase 1(COX1)in autophagy and the pathogenesis of diet-induced steatohepatitis in mice.Human nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)liver samples were used to examine the protein expression of COX1 and the level of autophagy.Cox1^(Δhepa)mice and their wildtype littermates were generated and fed with 3 different NASH models.We found that hepatic COX1 expression was increased in patients with NASH and diet induced NASH mice models accompanied by impaired autophagy.COX1 was required for basal autophagy in hepatocytes and liver specific COX1 deletion exacerbated steatohepatitis by inhibiting autophagy.Mechanistically,COX1 directly interacted with WD repeat domain,phosphoinositide interacting 2(WIPI2),which was crucial for autophagosome maturation.Adeno-associated virus(AAV)-mediated rescue of WIPI2 reversed the impaired autophagic flux and improved NASH phenotypes in Cox1^(Δhepa)mice,indicating that COX1 deletion-mediated steatohepatitis was partially dependent on WIPI2-mediated autophagy.In conclusion,we demonstrated a novel role of COX1 in hepatic autophagy that protected against NASH by interacting with WIPI2.Targeting the COX1 WIPI2 axis may be a novel therapeutic strategy for NASH.Qian Yu Chang Li Qinghui Niu Jigang Wang Zhaodi Che Ke Lei He Ren Boyi Ma Yixing Ren Pingping Luo Zhuming Fan Huan Zhang Zhaohui Liu George L.Tipoe Jia Xiao 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,6:0

11Wetting property of smooth and textured hydrophobic surfaces under condensation condition显示文摘Static and dynamic wetting behaviors of sessile droplet on smooth,microstructured and micro/nanostructured surface under condensation condition are systematically studied.In contrast to the conventional droplet wetting on such natural materials by dropping,we demonstrate here that when dropwise condensation occurs,the sessile droplet will transit from the Cassie-Baxter wetting state to the Wenzel wetting state or partial Cassie-Baxter wetting state on the microstructured surface or the micro/nanostructured surface,which leads to a strong adhesion between the droplet and the substrate.In contrast,the apparent contact angle and the sliding angle on the smooth surface changes a little before and after the condensation because of small roughness.Theoretical analysis shows that the roughness factor controls the adhesion force of the droplet during condensation,and a theoretical model is constructed which will be helpful for us to understand the relationship between the adhesion force and the geometry of the surface.HAO PengFei LV CunJing YAO ZhaoHui NIU FengLei 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,11:0
