| 5 | Inhomogeneity of microstructure and mechanical properties in the nugget of friction stir welded thick 7075 aluminum alloy joints显示文摘In this study, 20 mm thick AA7075-T6 alloy plates were joined by friction stir welding. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the nugget zone along the thickness direction from the top to the bottom was investigated. The results showed that the microstructure including the grain size, the degree of dynamic recrystallization, the misorientation angle distribution and the precipitation phase containing its size, type and content exhibited a gradient distribution along the thickness direction. The testing results of mechanical properties of the slices showed that the nugget was gradually weakened along the depth from the top to the bottom. | 6 | ADVANCES IN UNDERSTANDING AND FORECASTING RAPIDLY CHANGING PHENOMENA IN TROPICAL CYCLONES显示文摘This review of new understanding and forecasting of tropical cyclones(TCs) is based on presentations at the International Top-level Forum on Rapid Change Phenomena in Tropical Cyclones in Haikou, China. The major topics are the sudden changes in tracks, rapid changes in structure and intensity, rapid changes in rainfall, and advances in forecasting and forecaster requirements. Although improved track forecast guidance has been achieved with the Australian ACCESS-TC model and in track forecasts to 120 h by the China Meteorological Administration, there is a continuing need for better understanding and improved track forecast guidance. Advances in understanding of processes related to rapid intensification(RI), secondary eyewall formation, mechanisms controlling inner-core structure and size changes, and structure and intensity changes at landfall have been achieved, but progress in prediction of rapid changes in structure and intensity has been slow. Taking into account complex interactions involved in TC-related rainfall, a prioritized list of physical processes that govern rainfall from landfalling TCs in China has been developed. | 7 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 8 | Preparation and evaluation of poly(L-histidine) based pH-sensitive micelles for intracellular delivery of doxorubicin against MCF-7/ADR cells显示文摘In this study, a p H-sensitive micelle self-assembled from poly(L-histidine) based triblock copolymers of poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(D,L-lactide)–poly(L-histidine)(mPEG-PLA-PHis) was prepared and used as the intracellular doxorubicin(Dox) delivery for cancer chemotherapy. Dox was loaded into the micelles by thin-film hydration method and a Box–Behnken design for three factors at three levels was used to optimize the preparations. The optimized mPEG-PLA-Phis/Dox micelles exhibited good encapsulation efficiency of 91.12%,a mean diameter of 45 nm and narrow size distribution with polydispersity index of 0.256.In vitro drug release studies demonstrated that Dox was released from the micelles in a p Hdependent manner. Furthermore, the cellular evaluation of Dox loaded micelles displayed that the micelles possessed high antitumor activity in vitro with an IC50 of 35.30 μg/ml against MCF-7/ADR cells. The confocal microscopy and flow cytometry experiments indicated that m PEG-PLA-Phis micelles mediated efficient cytoplasmic delivery of Dox with the aid of poly(Lhistidine) mediated endosomal escape. In addition, blank m PEG-PLA-Phis micelles were shown to be nontoxic to MCF-7/ADR cells even at a high concentration of 200 μg/ml. | 10 | Aerosol light absorption in a coastal city in Southeast China:Temporal variations and implications for brown carbon显示文摘Light-absorbing carbonaceous aerosols including black carbon(BC) and brown carbon(BrC)play significant roles in atmospheric radiative properties. One-year measurements of aerosol light absorption at multi-wavelength were continuously conducted in Xiamen,southeast of China in 2014 to determine the light absorption properties including absorption coefficients(σabs) and absorption ?ngstr?m exponent(AAE) in the coastal city.Light absorptions of BC and BrC with their contributions to total light absorption were further quantified. Mean σabsat 370 nm and 880 nm were 56.6 ± 34.3 and 16.5 ± 11.2 Mm-1,respectively. σabspresented a double-peaks diurnal pattern with the maximum in the morning and the minimum in the afternoon. σabswas low in warm seasons and high in cold seasons. AAE ranged from 0.26 to 2.58 with the annual mean of 1.46, implying that both fossil fuel combustion and biomass burning influenced aerosol optical properties. σabsof BrC at 370 nm was 24.0 ± 5.7 Mm-1, contributing 42% to the total absorption. The highest AAE(1.52 ± 0.02) and largest BrC contributions(47% ± 4%) in winter suggested the significant influence of biomass burning on aerosol light absorption. Long-distance air masses passing through North China Plain and the Yangtze River Delta led to high AAE and BrC contributions. High AAE value of 1.46 in July indicated that long-range transport of the air pollutants from intense biomass burning in Southeast Asia would affect aerosol light absorption in Southeast China. | 12 | Intensifying Electron Utilization by Surface-Anchored Rh Complex for Enhanced Nicotinamide Cofactor Regeneration and Photoenzymatic CO_(2)Reduction显示文摘Solar-driven photocatalytic regeneration of cofactors,including reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH),reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH),and reduced flavin adenine dinucleotide(FADH_(2)),could ensure the sustainable energy supply of enzymatic reactions catalyzed by oxidoreductases for the efficient synthesis of chemicals.However,the elevation of cofactor regeneration efficiency is severely hindered by the inefficient utilization of electrons transferred on the surface of photocatalysts.Inspired by the phenomenon of ferredoxin-NADP+reductase(FNR)anchoring on thylakoid membrane,herein,a homogeneous catalyst of rhodium(Rh)complex,[Cp_(∗)Rh(bpy)H_(2)O]^(2+),was anchored on polymeric carbon nitride(PCN)mediated by a tannic acid/polyethyleneimine(TA/PEI)adhesive layer,acquiring PCN@TA/PEI-Rh core@shell photocatalyst.Illuminated by visible light,electrons were excited from the PCN core,then transferred through the TA/PEI shell,and finally captured by the surface-anchored Rh for instant utilization during the regeneration of NADH.The TA/PEI-Rh shell could facilitate the electron transfer from the PCN core and,more importantly,achieved~1.3-fold elevation of electron utilization efficiency compared with PCN.Accordingly,the PCN@TA/PEI-Rh afforded the NADH regeneration efficiency of 37.8%after 20 min reaction under LED light(405 nm)illumination,over 1.5 times higher than PCN with free Rh.Coupling of the NADH regeneration system with formate dehydrogenase achieved continuous production of formate from carbon dioxide(CO_(2)).Our study may provide a generic and effective strategy to elevate the catalytic efficiency of a photocatalyst through intensifying the electron utilization. | Yuqing Cheng Jiafu Shi Yizhou Wu Xueying Wang Yiying Sun Ziyi Cai Yu Chen Zhongyi Jiang | 2021 | Research2021,,1: | 5 |

| 16 | Characteristic analysis of phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs) in typical nutrient polluted lake sediment in Wuhan显示文摘The process of urbanization aggravates the endogenous pollution of urban lake sediment,and polluted sediment may seriously affect the quality of the water in lakes.At present,it is difficult to distinguish the difference between sediment that is heavily polluted by nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)when using an analysis based on a physicochemical index classification.The current study applied phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA)technology to further analyze the sediment characteristics from the perspective of microbiology.Surface sediment from five urban lakes that are heavily polluted with N and P in Wuhan were sampled.Statistical approaches were used to analyze the microbial community structure in the sampled sediment,and to determine the correlations between the microorganisms and physicochemical indices.The most severely polluted lake sediment had similar PLFA structures,the highest saturated fatty-acid content,and bacteria as the dominant microorganism.However,there were differences between the microbial biomass of the various sediment samples,which may have been related to the degree of N and P pollution.Analysis of the microbial diversity in the sediment samples indicated that the bacteria were experiencing starvation and nutrient pressure,which may have been due to the dissolved oxygen concentration of the heavily polluted lake sediment.A correlation analysis showed that the endogenous N and P had different effects on the microbes of the polluted sediment.A redundancy analysis(RDA)demonstrated that the N/P ratio had the greatest influence on the PLFA species,accounting for 83%of the cumulative interpretation.To effectively promote the role of sediment microorganisms on circulating elements,it is necessary to regulate the N/P ratio of the sediment to some extent.When the N/P ratio in sediment exceeds 6,N pollution should be prioritized. | Xia Zhang Qianru Chen Chuan Wang Hongpei Zhang Yuqing Zhao Liping Zhang Biyun Liu Zhenbin Wu Qiaohong Zhou | 2021 | International Journal of Sediment Research2021,36,2: | 5 |

When applied as catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER), the M-Co_3O_4/NPC composites derived from the flower-like ZIF-67 showedsuperior catalytic activities than those derived from the rhombic dodecahedron and hollow spherical ZIF-67. The former M-Co_3O_4/NPC composite displayed a small overpotential of 0.3 V, low onset potential of 1.41 V, small Tafel slope of 83 m V dec^(-1), and a desirable stability.(94.7% OER activity was retained after 10 h.) | 18 | Inducing Flow Velocities to Manage Fish Reproduction in Regulated Rivers显示文摘Conservation of endangered or economic fish and control of invasive fish is a great challenge of hydraulic engineering worldwide.Flow velocity has been recognized to affect the spawning of fishes delivering drifting eggs in rivers.However,solid scientific supports and associated mechanisms to establish quantitative relations between flow velocity and fish reproduction,taking into account spawning,fertilizing,hatching,as well as surviving,are lacking.In this paper,we quantified the relationship between flow velocity and reproduction of Chinese carps through both lab and field experiments.The results showed that a minimum velocity was required to trigger Hypophthalmichthys molitrix(H.molitrix)releasing eggs,and a velocity range was preferred to sustain spawning activity.However,the embryo incubation and larvae development of H.molitrix were found to be inhibited with the increase in flow velocity.Considering the requirements of spawning and hatching,as well as larvae surviving,an optimized flow velocity processes was identified for the reproduction of H.molitrix in rivers.These findings were of great significance to the adaptive operation of reservoirs to create reasonable and precise ecological flows for managing fish reproduction,as shown by the promising results in the engineering application to the Three Gorges Reservoir. | Qiuwen Chen Jianyun Zhang Yuchen Chen Kangle Mo Jun Wang Lei Tang Yuqing Lin Lei Chen Yong Gao Wei Jiang Yuxin Zhang | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,2: | 4 |

| 20 | Trithiocyanuric acid derived g-C3N4 for anchoring the polysulfide in Li-S batteries application显示文摘Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries have great potential as an electrochemical energy storage system because of the high theoretical energy density and acceptable cost of financial and environment.However,the shuttle effect leads to severe capacity fading and low coulombic efficiency.Here,graphitic carbon nitride(g-C3N4) is designed and prepared via a feasible and simple method from trithiocyanuric acid (TTCA) to anchor the polysulfides and suppress the shuttle effect.The obtained g-C3N4 exhibits strong chemical interaction with polysulfides due to its high N-doping of 56.87 at%,which is beneficial to improve the cycling stability of Li-S batteries.Moreover,the novel porous framework and high specific surface area of g-C3N4 also provide fast ion transport and broad reaction interface of sulfur cathode,facilitating high capacity output and superior rate performance of Li-S batteries.As a result,Li-S batteries assembled with g-C3N4 can achieve high discharge capacity of 1200 mAh/g at 0.2 C and over 800 mAh/g is remained after 100 cycles with a coulombic efficiency more than 99.5%.When the C-rate rises to 5 C,the reversible capacity of Li-S batteries can still maintain at 607mAh/g. | Ziyang Jia Hongzhang Zhang Ying Yu Yuqing Chen Jingwang Yan Xianfeng Li Huamin Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,4: | 4 |
