| 1 | Microstructure and mechanical properties of hypereutectic Al-Si alloy modified with Cu-P显示文摘The microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-14.6Si castings modified by Cu-P master alloy under different conditions were studied with optical microscope(OM) and mechanical testing and simulation(MTS).The results indicate that the Cu-P master alloy possesses not only obvious modification effect,but also longevity effect with more than 8 h on the hypereutectic Al-Si alloy.It is shown from thermal calculation,scanning electron microscope(SEM),and energy dispersive analysis of X-rays(EDAX) that the modification mechanism of Cu-P on primary silicon in the castings is heterogeneous nucleation around AlP particles.The Cu-P master alloy has no or little modifying effect on eutectic silicon,even though it has obvious modification on primary silicon in the castings.This may be because of the fast transformation of eutectic silicon at a very narrow temperature,which will notably weaken the role of AlP particles as heterogeneous nuclei for eutectic silicon. | ZHANG Henghua DUAN Haili SHAO Guangjie XU Luoping | 2008 | Rare Metals2008,27,1: | 35 |

| 4 | Definitions and progress of ecosystem health and ecological security显示文摘Along with industrial development, adverse impacts on the natural environment become more serious, and the states of ecosystem health and ecological security have also deteriorated. As the basic needs for human survival, ecosystem health and ecological security possess very important meanings. Therefore, ecosystem health and ecological security have become research hot topics in recent decades. This paper reviewed the developments of definitions and applications of ecosystem health and ecological security, and found that the research on ecosystem health had achieved a lot. However, the research on ecological security was still relatively undeveloped. Moreover, there are also some confusion between the concepts of ecosystem health and ecological security. We consider that ecosystem health indicates the status of the ecosystem in normal conditions, whereas, ecological security indicates the capabilities of an ecosystem to react to external accidents or extremely adverse effects. An ecosystem which is healthy does not mean that it is secure. | 17 | Control division of agricultural non-point source pollution at medium-sized watershed scale in Southeast China显示文摘This paper presents the study carried out for controlling agricultural non-point source pollution(NSP)in a medium-sized watershed covering 1.47×10^(4) km^(2) in Southeast China using quantitative analysis coupled with geographic information system(GIS),universal soil loss equation(USLE),soil conservation service-curve number(SCS-CN),nutrient loss equations,and annualized agricultural nonpoint source model(AnnAGNPS).Based on the quantitative results derived from GIS and environmental models,five control division units were generated for NSP control in Jiulong River watershed,namely,controlling unit for soil losses,controlling unit for livestock breeding and soil losses,controlling unit for excessive fertilizer use and livestock breeding,controlling unit for soil losses and fertilizer use,and controlling unit for excessive fertilizer use and soil losses.This study proved that integrating GIS with environmental models can be adopted to efficiently evaluate major sources and contributors of NSP,and identify the critical source areas of NSP,which enables adjusting measures to local conditions by further control division units developed through such study for control and management of water quality degradation induced by NSP in the Jiulong River watershed. | Jinliang HUANG Huasheng HONG Luoping ZHANG | 2008 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2008,2,3: | 1 |
