| 5 | Mixing state of individual carbonaceous particles during a severe haze episode in January 2013,Nanjing,China显示文摘Chemical composition,hourly counts,and sizes of atmospheric carbonaceous particles were measured to investigate their mixing state on clear and hazy days.623,122 carbonaceous particles with sizes0.2-2.0 μm was analyzed using a single-particle aerosol mass spectrometer from 1st to 17 th January2013.Particle types included biomass/biofuel burning particles(biomass),element carbon(EC-dominant)particles that were also mixed with biomass/biofuel burning species(EC-biomass) or secondary species(EC-secondary),organic carbon(OC),internally mixed OC and EC(OCEC),ammonium-containing(ammonium) and sodium-containing(sodium) particles.On clear days the top ranked carbonaceous particle types were biomass(48.2%),EC-biomass(15.7%),OCEC(11.1%),and sodium(9.6%),while on hazy days they were biomass(37.3%),EC-biomass(17.6%),EC-secondary(16.6%),and sodium(12.7%).The fractions of EC-secondary,ammonium(10%),and sodium particle types were elevated on hazy days.Numbers of EC-secondary particles were more than four times those on clear days(4.1%).Thus,carbonaceous particles mixed with ammonium,nitrate and sulfate during aging and transport,enhancing their light extinction effects and hygroscopic growth under high relative humidity on hazy days,further reducing visibility.Our real-time single-particle data showed that changes to mixing state had a significant impact on light extinction during haze events in Nanjing. | Honglei Wang Bin Zhu Zefeng Zhang Junlin An Lijuan Shen | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,3: | 12 |
| 6 | Effective suppression of stimulated Raman scattering in half 10 kW tandem pumping fiber lasers using chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings显示文摘The average power of fiber lasers has been scaled deeply into the kW regime in the past years. However, stimulated Raman scattering(SRS) is still a major factor limiting further power scaling. Here, we have demonstrated for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, the suppression of SRS in a half 10 kW tandem pumping fiber amplifier using chirped and tilted fiber Bragg gratings(CTFBGs). With specially self-designed and manufactured CTFBGs inserted between the seed laser and the amplifier stage, a maximum SRS suppression ratio of >15 dB in spectrum is observed with no reduction in laser efficiency. With one CTFBG, the effective output power is improved to3.9 kW with a beam quality M2 factor of ~1.7 from <3.5 k W with an M2 factor of >2; with two CTFBGs, the effective laser power reaches 4.2 kW with an increasing ratio of 20% and an M2 factor of ~1.8, and further power improvement is limited by the power and performance of the 1018 nm pump sources. | 9 | Investigation into the Vibration of Metro Bogies Induced by Rail Corrugation显示文摘The current research of rail corrugation mainly focuses on the mechanisms of its formation and development. Compared with the root causes and development mechanisms, the wheel–rail impacts, the fatigue failure of vehicle-track parts, and the loss of ride comfort due to rail corrugation should also be taken into account. However, the influences of rail corrugation on vehicle and track vibration, and failure of vehicle and track structural parts are barely discussed in the literature. This paper presents an experimental and numerical investigation of the structural vibration of metro bogies caused by rail corrugation. Extensive experiments are conducted to investigate the effects of short-pitch rail corrugation on the vibration accelerations of metro bogies. A dynamic model of a metro vehicle coupled with a concrete track is established to study the influence of rail corrugation on the structural vibration of metro bogies. The field test results indicate that the short-pitch rail corrugation generates strong vibrations on the axle-boxes and the bogie frames, therefore, accelerates the fatigue failure of the bogie components. The numerical results show that short-pitch rail corrugation may largely reduce the fatigue life of the coil spring, and improving the damping value of the primary vertical dampers is likely to reduce the strong vibration induced by short-pitch rail corrugation. | 10 | Efficient elimination of multidrug-resistant bacteria using copper sulfide nanozymes anchored to graphene oxide nanosheets显示文摘Antibacterial nanomaterials have attracted growing interest for bacterial infection therapy.However,most nanomaterials eliminate bacteria either physically or chemically,which hampers their efficacy when dealing with multidrug-resistant bacteria.To overcome this,we integrated copper sulfide(CuS)nanoparticles with active graphene oxide nanosheets(GO NSs)to synthesize a superior nanocomposite(CuS/GO NC)that acts both physically and chemically on the bacteria.CuS/GO NC was produced using a facile hydrothermal method,whereby the CuS nanoparticles grew and were uniformly dispersed on the GO NSs in situ.We found that the CuS/GO NC possesses a unique needle-like morphology that physically damages the bacterial cell membrane.CuS/GO NC also exhibits high oxidase-and peroxidase-like activity,ensuring efficient generation of the reactive oxygen species•OH from H2O2,which kills bacteria chemically.These features endow the CuS/GO NC with excellent antibacterial capabilities to kill multidrug-resistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)with only a single dose.Additionally,it was found that the CuS/GO NC accelerated the healing of infected wounds in vivo owing to its good biocompatibility as well as facilitation of cell migration and collagen secretion.This study provides a new strategy to combine the physical and chemical antibacterial modes of nanomaterials to develop more effective therapies to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. | Wanshun Wang Binglin Li Huili Yang Zefeng Lin Lingling Chen Zhan Li Jiayuan Ge Tao Zhang Hong Xia Lihua Li Yao Lu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,8: | 8 |
| 11 | Clopidogrel loading dose versus maintenance dose to treat patients with acute ischaemic stroke in China(CLASS-China):results from a prospective double-blind randomised clinical trial显示文摘Aim The role of clopidogrel in treating patients with acute ischaemic stroke is unclear.We have conducted the clinical trial in order to evaluate the efficacy and safety of clopidogrel with a loading dose in treating patients with non-cardiogenic acute ischaemic stroke.Method Clopidogrel loading dose versus maintenance dose to treat patients with acute ischaemic stroke in China(CLASS-China)was a prospective,randomised,double-blind and placebo-controlled clinical trial in China.Patients with acute ischaemic stroke of non-cardiogenic origin within 48 hours of onset were enrolled and those received thrombolysis were excluded.Enrolled patients were divided into two treatment groups:loading dose and routine dose.The primary outcome was the incidence of stroke recurrence or progression within 7 days.Primary safety outcome was measured by life-threatening haemorrhage.An intent-to-treat analysis was used for the statistical analysis.results From March 2008 to March 2010,a total of 303 patients from 16 centres were recruited into this study;six were excluded because of lack of basic information.Since the enrolment was slow and the study drug expired in March 2010,this clinical trial was stopped earlier than planned.No significant baseline and demographic differences were seen between the two groups.There was no difference in primary outcome between the loading dosage group 16.1%(24/149)and control group 14.9%(22/148),respectively(p=0.782).The mortality and disability rate within 90 days in loading dose group(19.6%)was slightly lower than that in controlled group(23.4%),p=0.444.Loading dose group had two(1.3%)cases of fatal haemorrhage and control group had four(2.7%)within 90 days,p=0.674.No significant difference was detected in other adverse events between the groups.conclusion In our study stopped early due to slow enrolment,loading dose of clopidogrel does not reduce the risk of recurrent stroke.Future trials with sufficient number of patients enrolled are needed to re-examine this hypothesis. | Ying Zhao Wanyong Yang Zefeng Tan Wenmin Wang Weimin Xiao Jinsheng Zeng Anding Xu | 2017 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2017,2,3: | 7 |

Here, we have demonstrated the mitigation of SRS in kilowatt-level diode-pumped fiber amplifiers using a chirped and tilted fiber Bragg grating(CTFBG) for the first time. The CTFBG is designed and inscribed in large-mode-area(LMA) fibers, matching with the operating wavelength of the fiber amplifier. With the CTFBG inserted between the seed laser and the amplifier stage, an SRS suppression ratio of ~10 dB is achieved in spectrum at the maximum output laser power of 2.35 kW,and there is no reduction in laser slope efficiency and degradation in beam quality. | 17 | Characteristics of pantograph‐catenary arc under low air pressure and strong airflow显示文摘Pantograph‐catenary arc fault is the primary factor threatening the stability of the power transmission for high‐speed railway.The motion characteristics of the pantograph‐catenary arc under low air pressure and strong airflow is significantly different from the case under atmospheric pressure.In this paper,an experimental platform of panto-graph‐catenary arc was built to investigate arc root position‐time and arc column lon-gitudinal drift height‐time characteristic curves under different air pressures and airflow velocites.Via analysing the corresponding results,it can be found that there are different arc root-arc column traction mechanisms at different stages of arc development.The arcing time and arc root stagnation time under low air pressure are significantly longer than the case under atmospheric pressure,resulting in more serious electrode ablation.The arc column longitudinal drift velocity and height are greater with the increase of airflow velocity.Two typical irregular arc motion phenomena-arc root jumping and arc reignition are observed.To clarify the internal mechanism of the above phenomenon,a magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)model of the pantograph‐catenary arc was lauched,the influence mechanism of the pantograph‐catenary arc temperature and voltage are studied,and the physical process of arc temperature oscillation is analysed.The research results provide theoretical support for arc protection in high‐altitude areas. | Zhilei Xu Guoqiang Gao Wenfu Wei Zefeng Yang Wenhan Xie Keliang Dong Yaguang Ma Yan Yang Guangning Wu | 2022 | High Voltage2022,7,2: | 7 |

Accumulating evidence demonstrates that splicing defects resulting from splicing dysregulation play critical roles in cancer pathogenesis and can serve as new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for cancer intervention. These findings have greatly deepened the mechanistic understandings of the regulation of alternative splicing in cancer cells, leading to rapidly growing interests in targeting cancer-related splicing defects as new therapies. | 20 | Enhancing light-matter interaction in 2D materials by optical micro/nano architectures for high-performance optoelectronic devices显示文摘Two-dimensional materials are a promising solution for next-generation electronic and optoelectronic devices due to their unique properties.Owing to the atomic thickness of 2D materials,the light-matter interaction length in 2D materials is much shorter than that in bulk materials,which limits the performance of optoelectronic devices composed of 2D materials.To improve the light-matter interactions,optical micro/nano architectures have been introduced into 2D material optoelectronic devices.In this review,we present a concise introduction and discussion of various strategies for the enhancement of lightmatter interaction in 2D materials,namely,the plasmonic effect,waveguide,optical cavity,and reflection architecture.We have outlined the current advances in high-performance 2D material optoelectronic devices(eg,photodetectors,electrooptic modulators,light-emitting diodes,and molecular sensors)assisted by these enhancement strategies.Finally,we have discussed the future challenges and opportunities of micro/nano photonic structure designs in 2D material devices. | Li Tao Zefeng Chen Zhiyong Li Jiaqi Wang Xin Xu Jian-Bin Xu | 2021 | InfoMat2021,3,1: | 5 |
