2Survey and technological analysis of laser and its defense applications显示文摘The laser technology has made remarkable progress over the past couple of decades.It is being widely employed in diverse domains,such as holography,space sciences,spectroscopy,medical sciences,micro and power electronics,industrial engineering,and most distinctively,as directed energy military weapons.Owing to their active transmissions,laser systems are similar to microwave radars to some extent;however,unlike conventional radars,the laser operates at very high frequencies thus making it a potent enabler of narrow-beam and high energy aerial deployments,both in offensive and defensive roles.In modern avionics systems,laser target indicators and beam riders are the most common devices that are used to direct the Laser Guided Weapons(LGW)accurately to the ground targets.Additionally,compact size and outstanding angular resolution of laser-based systems motivate their use for drones and unmanned aerial applications.Moreover,the narrow-beam divergence of laser emissions offers a low probability of intercept,making it a suitable contender for secure transmissions and safety-critical operations.Furthermore,the developments in space sciences and laser technology have given synergistic potential outcomes to use laser systems in space operations.This paper comprehensively reviews laser applications and projects for strategic defense actions on the ground or in space.Additionally,a detailed analysis has been done on recent advancements of the laser technology for target indicators and range-finders.It also reviews the advancements in the field of laser communications for surveillance,its earlier state of the art,and ongoing scientific research and advancements in the domain of high energy directed laser weapons that have revolutionized the evolving military battlefield.Besides offering a comprehensive taxonomy,the paper also critically analyzes some of the recent contributions in the associated domains.Syed Affan Ahmed Mujahid Mohsin Syed Muhammad Zubair Ali 2021Defence Technology(防务技术)2021,17,2:10
3Effect of seedling age and water depth on morphological and physiological aspects of transplanted rice under high temperature显示文摘To study the effect of high temperature, rice seedlings 20, 30, 40 and 50 d were kept at 5, 10, 15 and 20 cm water depth in a water pool. Meteorological findings indicated that water temperature varied up to 10 cm but became stable below this depth. Deep water inflicted higher tiller mortality, minimal increase in dry weight of aerial parts and leaf area, decrease in root length, and decrease in root dry weight especially at 20 cm water depth and produced an unbalanced T/R ratio (top versus root dry weight). However, deep water tended to increase plant length. These parameters, however, excel in shallow water. Older seedlings, with the exception of root dry weight, could not perform well compared to young seedlings in all physiological and morphological aspects. 4Gastric juice for the diagnosis of H pylori infection in patients on proton pump inhibitors显示文摘AIM: To determine the efficacy of gastric juice polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the detection of H pylori infection in comparison with histology and gastric antral biopsy PCR in patients on a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). METHODS: Eighty-five consecutive patients with dyspeptic symptoms were enrolled. Gastric biopsies for histology, PCR and gastric juice were collected at endoscopy for PCR of the H pylori urease C gene (ure C). Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), accuracy, positive and negative likelihood ratio for PCR of gastric juice for the H pylori ure C gene was compared to histology and gastric antral biopsy H pylori ure C PCR in patients with and without PPI. RESULTS: Gastric juice PCR was positive in 66 (78%) patients. Histology showed H pylori associated gastritis in 57 (67%). Gastric biopsy PCR was positive in 72 (85%). In patients not taking PPI, the sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, accuracy and positive and negative likelihood ratio for gastric juice PCR were 89%, 72%, 91%, 67%, 90%, 85%, 3.1 and 0.1 respectively. In patients on PPI these values were 86%, 100%%, 100%, 29%, 86%, 9.5 and 1.4, respectively. CONCLUSION: Gastric juice PCR for the diagnosis of H pylori infection has increased sensitivity compared to histology with PPI. 5Optical spin-symmetry breaking for high-efficiency directional helicity-multiplexed metaholograms显示文摘Helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces based on symmetric spin–orbit interactions (SOIs) have practical limits because they cannot provide central-symmetric holographic imaging. Asymmetric SOIs can effectively address such limitations, with several exciting applications in various fields ranging from asymmetric data inscription in communications to dual side displays in smart mobile devices. Low-loss dielectric materials provide an excellent platform for realizing such exotic phenomena efficiently. In this paper, we demonstrate an asymmetric SOI-dependent transmission-type metasurface in the visible domain using hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) nanoresonators. The proposed design approach is equipped with an additional degree of freedom in designing bi-directional helicity-multiplexed metasurfaces by breaking the conventional limit imposed by the symmetric SOI in half employment of metasurfaces for one circular handedness. Two on-axis, distinct wavefronts are produced with high transmission efficiencies, demonstrating the concept of asymmetric wavefront generation in two antiparallel directions. Additionally, the CMOS compatibility of a-Si:H makes it a cost-effective alternative to gallium nitride (GaN) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) for visible light. 8Advances in engineered Bacillus subtilis biofilms and spores, and their applications in bioremediation, biocatalysis, and biomaterials显示文摘Bacillus subtilis is a commonly used commercial specie with broad applications in the fields of bioengineering and biotechnology.B.subtilis is capable of producing both biofilms and spores.Biofilms are matrix-encased multicellular communities that comprise various components including exopolysaccharides,proteins,extracellular DNA,and poly-γ-glutamic acid.These biofilms resist environmental conditions such as oxidative stress and hence have applications in bioremediation technologies.Furthermore,biofilms and spores can be engineered through biotechnological techniques for environmentally-friendly and safe production of bio-products such as enzymes.The ability to withstand with harsh conditions and producing spores makes Bacillus a suitable candidate for surface display technology.In recent years,the spores of such specie are widely used as it is generally regarded as safe to use.Advances in synthetic biology have enabled the reprogramming of biofilms to improve their functions and enhance the production of value-added products.Globally,there is increased interest in the production of engineered biosensors,biocatalysts,and biomaterials.The elastic modulus and gel properties of B.subtilis biofilms have been utilized to develop living materials.This review outlines the formation of B.subtilis biofilms and spores.Biotechnological engineering processes and their increasing application in bioremediation and biocatalysis,as well as the future directions of B.subtilis biofilm engineering,are discussed.Furthermore,the ability of B.subtilis biofilms and spores to fabricate functional living materials with self-regenerating,self-regulating and environmentally responsive characteristics has been summarized.This review aims to resume advances in biological engineering of B.subtilis biofilms and spores and their applications.Muhammad Zubair Mohsin Rabia Omer Jiaofang Huang Ali Mohsin Meijin Guo Jiangchao Qian Yingping Zhuang 2021Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,3:2
9The Determinants of Chinese Outward Foreign Direct Investment:A Closer Look显示文摘Over the last fifteen years,China rapidly expanded its outward foreign direct investment (OFDI)through remarkable economic growth and the 'go global'policy.Chinese firms explored investment avenues especially in developing and emerging countries.As a result,China became the third largest contributor of OFDI.We examine the determinants of Chinese OFDI in 67 countries during the period lasting from 2006 to 2015 using the feasible generalized least square method.We find that the size of the economy,market opportunities,cost advantages due to low wage structure,ease of doing business, country risk,and geographical proximity are the prominent factors leading to changes in Chinese OFDI in developing and emerging economies.We find that China's investments in different developing and emerging countries are driven by a different set of factors and the determinants of Chinese OFDI vary in low and high per capita income countries.Muhammad Zubair Mumtaz Zachary Alexander Smith 2018Frontiers of Economics in China-Selected Publications from Chinese Universities2018,13,4:2

11Core-shell particles of C-doped CdS and graphene: A noble metal-free approach for efficient photocatalytic H_(2) generation显示文摘To achieve efficient photocatalytic H_(2) generation from water using earth-abundant and cost-effective materials,a simple synthesis method for carbon-doped CdS particles wrapped with graphene(C-doped CdS@G)is reported.The doping effect and the application of graphene as cocatalyst for CdS is studied for photocatalytic H_(2) generation.The most active sample consists of CdS and graphene(CdS-0.15G)exhibits promising photocatalytic activity,producing 3.12 mmol g^-(1) h^-(1) of H_(2) under simulated solar light which is^4.6 times superior than pure CdS nanoparticles giving an apparent quantum efficiency(AQY)of 11.7%.The enhanced photocatalytic activity for H_(2) generation is associated to the narrowing of the bandgap,enhanced light absorption,fast interfacial charge transfer,and higher carrier density(N_(D))in C-doped CdS@G samples.This is achieved by C doping in CdS nanoparticles and the formation of a graphene shell over the C-doped CdS nanoparticles.After stability test,the spent catalysts sample was also characterized to investigate the nanostructure.Muhammad Zubair Estelle Marie M.Vanhaecke Ingeborg-Helene Svenum Magnus RФnning Jia Yang 2020Green Energy & Environment2020,5,4:2
12Efficient UAV Communications: Recent Trends and Challenges显示文摘Unmanned Ariel Vehicles(UAVs)are flying objects whose trajectory can be remotely controlled.UAVs have lot of potential applications in the areas of wireless communications,internet of things,security,traffic management,monitoring,and smart surveying.By enabling reliable communication between UAVs and ground nodes,emergency notifications can be efficiently and quickly disseminated to a wider area.UAVs can gather data from remote areas,industrial units,and emergency scenarios without human involvement.UAVs can support ubiquitous connectivity,green communications,and intelligent wireless resource management.To efficiently use UAVs for all these applications,important challenges need to be investigated.In this paper,we first present a detailed classification of UAVs based on factors such as their size,communication range,weight,and flight altitude.We also explain the hardware system configuration and uses of these UAVs.We present a brief overview of recent work done related to three major challenges in UAVs.These challenges include trajectory control,energy efficiency and resource allocation.We also present three open challenges and future opportunities for efficient UAV communications.These include use of learning algorithms for resource allocation and energy efficiency in UAVs,intelligent surfaces-based communications for enhanced reliability in UAVs,and security algorithms to combat malicious attacks against UAVs.Abdulfattah Noorwali Muhammad Awais Javed Mohammad Zubair Khan 2021Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,4:2

16Single and Mitochondrial Gene Inheritance Disorder Prediction Using Machine Learning显示文摘One of the most difficult jobs in the post-genomic age is identifying a genetic disease from a massive amount of genetic data.Furthermore,the complicated genetic disease has a very diverse genotype,making it challenging to find genetic markers.This is a challenging process since it must be completed effectively and efficiently.This research article focuses largely on which patients are more likely to have a genetic disorder based on numerous medical parameters.Using the patient’s medical history,we used a genetic disease prediction algorithm that predicts if the patient is likely to be diagnosed with a genetic disorder.To predict and categorize the patient with a genetic disease,we utilize several deep and machine learning techniques such as Artificial neural network(ANN),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),and Support vector machine(SVM).To enhance the accuracy of predicting the genetic disease in any patient,a highly efficient approach was utilized to control how the model can be used.To predict genetic disease,deep and machine learning approaches are performed.The most productive tool model provides more precise efficiency.The simulation results demonstrate that by using the proposed model with the ANN,we achieve the highest model performance of 85.7%,84.9%,84.3%accuracy of training,testing and validation respectively.This approach will undoubtedly transform genetic disorder prediction and give a real competitive strategy to save patients’lives.Muhammad Umar Nasir Muhammad Adnan Khan Muhammad Zubair Taher MGhazal Raed A.Said Hussam Al Hamadi 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10:1
17Scenario of dengue infection & its control in Pakistan: An up-date and way forward显示文摘Dengue fever is one of the major health problems in tropical and subtropical areas throughout the world. The causative agent of dengue fever is the dengue virus which is an enveloped single stranded RNA virus belongs to the family Flaviviridae and has five distinct serotypes(DENV-1,DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4 and DENV-5). Dengue virus is transmitted to human via bite of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The clinical symptoms of dengue fever ranging from mild to severe form as dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Pakistan is dengue endemic since 1994 but from 2006, Pakistan faced the worst condition regarding dengue in which thousands of people affected by the disease and hundreds of people lost their lives. DENV-2, DENV-3 and DENV-1 are the prevalent serotypes in Pakistan. Common diagnostic techniques are being used in Pakistan such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,polymerase chain reaction and rapid diagnostic tests, while differential diagnosis, limitations of diagnostic methods and poor health care system are the real challenges in dengue diagnosis.Favorable climatic conditions, unplanned urbanization, travelling etc., are major factors responsible for dengue epidemics in Pakistan. 19Dielectric relaxation and conduction behaviors of Aurivillius Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15) ceramics with Na doping显示文摘Aurivillius Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15) and Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)compounds were synthesized via solid-state reaction technique.X-ray powder diffraction study confirmed monophasic four-layered Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15) and three-layered Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12) ceramics.Dielectric relaxation and conduction behaviors of Na-contained Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15)ceramics were thoroughly investigated in a large scale of temperature of 30-650℃ and frequency of 40 Hz^(-1) MHz.In addition,comparative studies of both the compounds were discussed.Impedance and modulus analyses revealed a single relaxation behavior in Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15) compound which was originated from the grain’s interior with grain resistance of 2.189×10^(5)Ω and capacitance of 4.268×10^(-10) F at 570℃.While in Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12) ceramic the relaxation was due to the contributions of grain and grain boundaries.Alternating current(AC)conductivity analysis revealed the presence of two different conduction regions in both the compounds.Activation energies for the two different conduction mechanisms,i.e.,in low-temperature region and in high-temperature region were calculated to be~0.23 and~1.27 eV at 1 kHz for Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15) compound and~0.43 eV and~0.97 eV at 1 kHz for Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12) compound,respectively.The present study of dielectric relaxation and conduction behaviors would be helpful for further investigations of Na_(0.5)Bi_(4.5)Ti_(4)O_(15)-related Aurivillius compounds.Fida Rehman Jing-Bo Li Pervaiz Ahmed Muhammad Sheraz Khan Yasir Saeed Asma khan Muhammad Zubair 2021Rare Metals2021,40,5:1
20Web Tension Regulation of Multispan Roll-to-Roll System using Integrated Active Dancer and Load Cells for Printed Electronics Applications显示文摘The mass production of printed electronics can be achieved by roll-to-roll(R2R) printing system, so highly accurate web tension is required that can minimize the register error and keep the thickness and roughness of printed devices in limits. The web tension of a R2R system is regulated by the use of integrated load cells and active dancer system for printed electronics applications using decentralized multi-input-single-output(MISO) regularized variable learning rate backpropagation artificial neural networks. The active dancer system is used before printing system to reduce disturbances in the web tension of process span. The classical PID control result in tension spikes with the change in roll diameter of winder and unwinder rolls. The presence of dancer in R2R system shows that improved web tension control in printing span and the web tension can be enhanced from 3.75 N to 4.75 N. The overshoot of system is less than ±2.5 N and steady state error is within ±1 N where load cells have a signal noise of ±0.7 N.
